Real Madrid Coach's Beautiful Response To Racist Attack On Player
Brazilian players are furious over this recent racist episode.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti blasted La Liga, the Spanish football league for being outwardly racist after star player Vinicius Junior, was called a "monkey" by many spectators in the stands during Sunday's game.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said Spanish football needed to be prepared to halt matches.
"The Spanish league has a problem, and Vinicius is not the problem. Vinicius is the victim," Ancelotti said.
"What has happened today has happened before, but not like that, it's unacceptable," he told reporters.
Ancelotti later engaged with a reporter who wanted to talk about the game, but the coach only wanted to talk about the racist attacks his player was forced to endure.
The ESPNFC crew ran almost a 30 minute segment on the problems in the Spanish league and how soccer has been failing at addressing racism. They did an excellent job.
Ancelotti gained my utmost respect on how he handled this horrible situation.
He did not censor his outrage at the fans, the officials and the league. The initial response from La Liga was to blame Vinicius.
However, Ancelotti's powerful response forced Spanish prosecutors to open an investigation over the incident.
