Ted Cruz Calling For Investigations Of Bud Light
Is Bud Light part of a deep state conspiracy?
Instead of helping the American people deal with Covid-related inflation and raising the debt ceiling, Senator Cancún Cruz is calling for investigations into a private company for an ad campaign.
Republicans are weaponizing Congress to attack all things LGBTQ, including private companies.
Ted Cruz told Fox and Friends he's going after Bud Light's Anheuser-Busch.
"I can't think of a company in modern times that has more alienated its customer base and seem to have so little understanding of who it is that actually drinks Bud Light," Cruz said.
Hyperventilating over the Dylan Mulvaney commercial typifies how ineffective and inconsequential Republicans are.
"A massive percentage of Dylan Mulvaney's audience are kids. And Budweiser was trying, I believe, with this ill-fated marketing attempt to target teenagers," Cruz, R-Texas, said
I'm sorry. How does Cruz know only kids watch Mulvaney?
"We're calling on the Beer Institute to investigate the degree to which Anheuser-Busch knowingly was marketing to children in going down this road," Cruz said.
What's the deep state plot Cruz is trying to uncover? The beer company is not marketing to children, obviously.
The Republicans are so out of touch with Generations Z and Alpha, they have no idea what the demographic is they're targeting.
Ted Cruz cares as much for the children as he did for his freezing constituents.
Republicans and the Christian nationalist cult of MAGA are targeting all private companies that even hint at being supportive of the LGBTQ community.
It's a disgrace.
Steve Benen writes, "To be sure, the beer company can ignore those requests: Cruz isn’t in a position to issue subpoenas or call hearings because, at least for now, there’s a Democratic majority in the Senate. Cruz’s “investigation” carries all the legal weight of an off-hand comment made on his thrice-weekly podcast — which is to say, it has no legal weight at all."
"But stunts like these tell us a great deal about who Cruz is, what he values, whom he picks fights with, and how he tries to misuse the power Texans gave him."
