Johnson: Holding Me Accountable Is Divisive

Could Ron Johnson be feeling the heat these days?

Last week, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers became the first state official to make any kind of statement drectly regarding the fake electors scheme. He said that the people involved with it, including Senator Ron Johnson, should face some kind of consequences, although he would not say what form those consequences should take, but did say it shouldn't involve jail time:

In an interview with the Journal Sentinel, Evers said the Republicans should face penalties that could include charges, fines or losing their jobs for participating in a plan to sign paperwork falsely claiming to be electors for Trump after he lost reelection and trying to hand those documents to then-Vice President Mike Pence on Jan. 6, 2021.

"He was part of the deal. Something should happen to him," Evers said of Johnson. "He knew. He knew. Why in the world would a U.S. Senator involve himself with something that is patently against the law?"

He said he did not think the actions warranted jail time.

Unsurprisingly, RoJo took great umbrage at Evers' comments before telling his biggest whopper yet about the fake elector scheme he participated in:'

On Friday, Johnson accused Evers of "spreading dangerous disinformation in order to divide and mislead the American and Wisconsin public" and attacked the media for reporting the comments.

"Everything that I have said about this non-event has proven to be true," Johnson said in a statement to the Journal Sentinel.

Ever since his name was first brought up in the January 6th hearings, he's done nothing but lie about the whole thing. His lies have been so pathetic that he's been mocked on national TV and has even lied about being on the phone so he didn't have to lie about his involvement again. Much more recently, he's even admitted that he was wrong in statements he was trying to defend his behaviors, but even his admission to be slightly wrong was a lie. He was very, very wrong.

While it was nice to see Evers finally come out and make a public comment to RoJo's role in the fake elector scheme, Evers was wrong in saying that RoJo and the fake electors don't deserve jail time. They should be tried and sentenced just like the other J6 criminals, both on a state and a federal level. I couldn't think of a nicer group of people for that to happen to.
