Tucker Carlson Advocates A Black Market For Health Care

Tucker Carlson joined his pals John Fund and Sean Hannity to take another shot at Obamacare, while arguing that a health care black market would be a more efficient system.

Eric Cantor's reaction was predictable: Let's repeal Obamacare for the 38th time!

Never ones to miss an opportunity to slam the ACA, Carlson and friends went back to the well for another round of "repeal Obamacare." Only this time they embellished it with the brilliant idea that a black market for health care would really be a wonderful replacement plan! Here's a Tucker gem:

CARLSON: So for people who just want to be covered against catastrophic illnesses, don't want to pay for other people's hair transplants and sex changes, they're out of luck. So what are the political elements here? I mean, I keep hearing Democrats saying, implementation of Obamacare at the end of the year is going to be a disaster. I can't even use the profanity. It's a disaster.

No, you dumbass, it's not going to be a disaster in states that have been working on its implementation instead of trying umpty zillion times to repeal it. That's a little like holding your breath until you turn blue and then blaming your mom because you turned blue.

Here comes the brilliant alternative:

FUND: This is the easiest way to bring back a cash economy into health care, because a lot of people will drop insurance. A lot of people will be thrown off insurance by their employers. I think you're going to see a black market develop where people will go to the doctor and say, look, right up front, I'm only paying cash, so let's negotiate.

Because right now of course...

CARLSON: Which would be a far more efficient system by the way...

FUND: There's a guy in California whose hospital bill was $20,000 and he only paid $16 of that. Now, it didn't cost $20,000, there was a lot of cost shifting going around and he should have paid more than $16.

So, this actually might create a black market. Unfortunately that's not the way (crosstalk).

CARLSON: Why wouldn't Expedia and Hotels.com have done for the hospitality and travel industry. Why couldn't (crosstalk)...

Here's a news flash for these so-called pundits. Before there was a thing called Obamacare, people tried to negotiate their bills. Trust me, I was one of them. It doesn't work. I will repeat: It DOES NOT WORK. People declare bankruptcy, they lose everything they've worked for their entire lives, or they just die.

As for Tuckie's wish to exclude people who have no access to health care or insurance? He should get down on his knees and thank the Lucifer he calls God that he will never have to experience that particular brand of hell when 2014 arrives.

There is no black market, nor should there be, nor will there be. There is no "Expedia" for health care. There is only "pay the bill" or die. If one of these idiots would like to surrender his health insurance and be the first to try, I say go for it. Don't come crying to me for help when you can't negotiate and the hospital bill wipes you out. I'll just ask you how that whole health care black market thing is working for you, while I sign the family up for Obamacare.

Seriously, guys. Give it up. You lost. Move on.
