Or to the point. There are more than two issues that a Christian can believe in.

Un Poeta Loco says: He makes points in the column that I have made many times in this very forum, namely that Christ’s commandment to “love thy neighbor” takes precedence over anything the hatemongering christians are spewing from their pulpits, perhaps because Christ’s love takes the fun out of hating, which is what they seem to do best. Danforth writes, "But for us [moderate Christians], the only absolute standard of behavior is the commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves."

Danforth is saying the words that so many of us have longed <snark> to hear from the fake leaders of Evangelicals on 24/7. Will John ever be asked to voice his views on Joe Scarborough or Bill O'Reilly? Of course not because they make too much sense and don't feed into the hysteria of the extreme religious right.

Danforth: When, on television, we see a person in a persistent vegetative state, one who will never recover, we believe that allowing the natural and merciful end to her ordeal is more loving than imposing government power to keep her hooked up to a feeding tube.

Why wasn't his views allowed to become public discourse during those two weeks of a freak show where even today the same maniacs( LifeNews) are disputing the evidence of Terri's autopsy with proof like : An attorney for Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, is disputing the findings of an autopsy report released yesterday claiming Terri had significant brain damage, was essentially blind, and was likely not physically abused before her collapse They also point to videos taken with Terri interacting with doctors and following a balloon over her head with her eyes. ( she was blind ) ....Gibbs: "It demonstrated she had a strong will to live," Gibbs said" This is utterly insane. Are you going to belive me or those lying eyes defense?

Danforth: When we see an opportunity to save our neighbors' lives through stem cell research, we believe that it is our duty to pursue that research, and to oppose legislation that would impede us from doing so.

I'm taking betting odds. Who will get more air time, Randall Terry or John C. Danforth? A man of insanity or a man of reason. Or the question might be. Which one will give 24/7 better sound bites?

Andy McKay: I have had enough of those radical medical examiners and their lefty autopsy reports. What gives them the right to set the agenda? On Wednesday, Pinellas County medical examiner Jon Thogmartin decided completely and separate from the will of the people, to dispute a videotaped diagnosis from Dr. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist that Terry Schiavo was able to see....read on
