Seeing The Forest

White House Chief of Staff comments on Karl Rove saying that the "motive" of liberals is they want American troops to die. Here

just said this on CNN:

"Karl Rove's speech was a speech that I think reflected some of the rhetoric that a lot of people feel."

Karl Rove and Andrew Card are not Republican Party officials, they are government officials. When they speak, they speak for the President and the government of the United States. This is the government of the United States telling people that liberals want American troops to die.

Remember the Seeing the Forest Rule: When right-wingers make accusations, you need to look at whether it is just a cover for something THEY are really doing. Here they are accusing Democrats of wanting to kill American troops. But who sent those troops to Iraq?

Cheney is innocent?      Slice O' Life

The 'gulag of our times,' to quote a recent Amnesty International report, will soon be getting an 'extreme makeover' from the dashing Dick Cheney ... er ... I mean from his pals at Halliburton. No wonder he's been huffing and puffing about how the U.S. won't bulldoze Gitmo. Dicky and his pals are going to make beaucoup bucks on this thing!

As reported in the UK Independent on Saturday ...
"A subsidiary of Halliburton, the oil services group once led by the US Vice-President, Dick Cheney, has won a $30m (£16m) contract to help build a new permanent prison for terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The Pentagon announcement, giving further details of the planned two-story jail, complete with air conditioning and exercise and medical facilities, is a further sign that the Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, is determined to keep the jail in operation.
There are some 520 inmates from 40 countries at Guantanamo, some of them held there for more than three years. The new jail will be capable of holding 220 people. Under the contract with the US Naval Engineering Command, the work is to be finished by the end of July 2006. The final deal could be worth as much as $500m."Karl Rove's speech was a speech that I think reflected some of the rhetoric that a lot of people feel."
