Michael Moore demands apology from Wolf Blitzer
By John Amato Sunday Jul 08, 2007 7:38pm
Michael Moore went off on Wolfie and CNN for a hit piece they aired about "Sicko" right before he came on. He was hot! He slapped the beard around pretty good...He says he'll post the facts refuting their claims on his website tonight. He then attacked CNN and Blitzer for not doing their job in the run up to the war (where were you when it mattered?) and said that everything he said about the Iraq war did come to pass. He wondered why it took him so many years to get Cheney on teevee? He asked when America will get sick and tired of the "crap" they show...

Moore: Why don't you tell the truth to the American people? I mean I wish that CNN and th eother mainstream media would just for once tell the truth....You fudged the facts about this issue----about the war and I'm just curious. When are you going to aplogize to the American people for not bringing the truth to them that isn't sponsored by some major corporation?
Wolfie didn't know what to say for a while and tried to ask him some questions about Sicko, but even the most basic elements of the film he got wrong. Moore did not attack Hillary in the movie. He praised her efforts to try to change health care for the country in Sicko, but was stopped cold in her tracks as you already know. He did point out that she was getting a lot of campaign contributions from the industry...The transcript isn't posted yet on CNN...so have at it...I'll update the post as I go...

Just saw it. Almost felt sorry for Wolff.
Blitzer, the AIPAC mouthpiece?
He should have been deported to Israel years ago.
Almost.
Dr. wolf hes called now. And its doubtfull wolf will apologize too.
I saw it live, and saw it the second time. I wrote to Michael and thanked him for saying what needed to be said.
Just saw it. That was good.
Wow, saw it.
Moore keeps on speaking truth to power. A courageous man.
funniest and BEST thing i've seen since George Galloway testified at the Senate!!!
Wolfe apologize?!? Sure I'll start holding my breath and I bet that right after I pass out I will hear Wolfe apologize.
HAHA Mike tore wolfie the whore a new one. Wolf just stood there looking stupid.
Michael Moore should team up with the guys from loose change and make a proper movie;)
looking forward to seeing him tearing into the sheeple at cnn when its posted:)
that was great!
I cannot wait for this one - I missed it when it aired, so I'm really looking forward to it.
I love this man, he's a truly great American patriot!
All the health care numbers you could ever need are here. This summary that includes comparisons of the American health care system relative to other countries and between the states, plus data on the uninsured, rising health care costs, the woes of Medicare and Medicaid and more.
For all the details, see:
"SiCKO Required Reading: U.S. Health Care by the Numbers."
What Moore should have said but didn't have the guts to, is, that:
Your inalienable right to petition the government for redress of
grievances is under attack under the umbrella of the Executive
Branch's ethics accountability. Introduced bill H.R.984, being an
attempt to amend The Ethics in Government Act of 1978, would require
nearly 8,000 members in the Executive Branch to put into an open
database the names and summaries "of each private party who had a
significant contact with that official."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Branch_Reform_Act
So far, so good. However, a similar technology used by the Executive
Branch has proven, by a leak, to have been abused for furthering
unpopular agendas and partisan politics: the Executive Branch's
private web server.
If Congress really wants a transparent and open government, then there
needs to be implementation of transparency in, or the dismantling of,
the Executive Branch's web server.
All of this comes after a lobbying reform bill at the end of 109th
Congress was killed in an effort to give citizens who amass revenue of
at least $25,000 per fiscal quarter the right to influence opposition
to unpopular special interest agendas. Of course your run of the mill
non-issue advocates like the N.R.A. and the National Right to Life
Committee ran over the bill with their lobby against it.
Let me get this straight. Private citizens not backed by big business
alliances can't enter national and international debates with any
relevant influence, but our Constitutional Right to be heard by our
government can legally be used to further agendas we oppose?
Contact your State's Representatives in your Districts and let him or
her know who they really work for. This time, show some initiative,
grow a spine and walk into their offices and demand they craft laws
that don't little by little take away our Constitutional Rights.
There still is time. H.R.984 hasn't been voted on or enacted, yet.
I just watched the entire smackdown, cheering all the way through. Go, Michael, go! He put a beating on Wolf that was even better (and worse) than the one from Darth Dick and his hideous wife. He asked Blitzer the questions about CNN's Iraq war coverage (and cheerleading) that should have been asked years ago. Moore also had some choice words for PhArma's bestest bud, Sanjay Gupta. Watching him mop the floor of the Situation Room with Wolfie was a treat.
I can't wait to see part 2 of the beat-down tomorrow. Michael Moore is now my hero.
Leslie Blitzer along with the other blathering heads on tv have got a lot of 'splaining to do to the American public. They are nothing but paid whores doing infomercials for this gang of thugs who have taken over our country. If they all had frontal lobotomies they couldn't be any dumber. They profit from death. May a curse be upon them all.
Hahahahhhahahahahhahahahahahahah. . .
cnn Tom Foreskin could use another asshole too.
Oops... tom foreman
I saw it live, loved it!
But yeah, when they talk about Medicare and Medicade... that's socialized medicine, and Moore admits it was sold to private companies. So what's to prevent his way of healthcare being sold to private companies also?
IN ADDITION...
Moore mentions Social Security as something going well... uhhhh WHAT? No it isn't - it's completely broken!
I was all for this socialized medicine thing, but after this interview, I remembered I live in America where that just can't happen because we're are controlled by IDIOTS who would never be able to work it properly.
And if idiots aren't in power, greedy evil bastards will be in their place.
Socialized medicine will never work, because Americans are too unhealthy, too lazy, too stupid, too greedy.. this goes for the citizens as well as those in government.
" Sorry for Wolf" are you fricken serious, the infotainer that sold " Shock and Awe " and had embeds with the military acting as cheerleaders for the war. the same Blitzer that hasn't investigated the massacre in Fallujah, where everything the couldn't leave was SHOT, including men, women and children, dogs and cats. Read goddamn DAHR JAMIALS INVESTIGATION, he was THERE, in Fallujah..CNN wasn't ...BLITZER wasn't, not any of the other pathetic U.S. "media '. That's just one example.
Blitzer deserved a lot more that that, and I think Moore went soft on him .
CNN, that let in Psyops form Ft. Benning into CNN studios, to work as " interns" .
CNN, that hires former Langley CIA student Anderson Cooper, who had a " special" this weekend, " Surveillance in the UK worked so well, why don't we have more here " His exact words , obvious advancing the propaganda , we need MORE surveillance CAMERAS here in the U.S. , New World order clowns must have really loved that special.
"Moore did not attack Hillary in the movie. He praised her efforts to try to change health care for the country in Sicko, but was stopped cold in her tracks as you already know. He did point out that she was getting a lot of campaign contributions from the industry…"
Moore did not attack Hillary? ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!! Stopped cold in her tracks??? Are you crazy? Nobody "stopped" her. She accepted money to shut up. Just like all the other crooks and liars in Washington.
[deleted--you are on VERY thin ice. You will not insult the site in your posts. Otherwise you will be on a permanent time out. Dial back your rhetoric or take it walking.]
The fact is this:
HILLARY CLINTON ACCEPTED "BRIBE" MONEY FROM THE INDUSTRY in order to stop her drive to make healthcare "publicly funded".
It drives me batsh&t insane to see you relegate that huge fact to a mere footnote and say that it wasn't her fault that she accepted bribe money. This is so typical of so-called "liberal psychology" to blame the people who pay the bribe instead of the person who accepts the bribe. Clinton is a public official for crying out loud. She is supposed to answer for the American people. By taking those bribes she effectively nullified her credibility. Is it any wonder the MSM supports her?
[deleted]
Gekke @ 10:
Yeah, make a "proper" movie and get ridiculed and ignored. Its the other way around, Moore knows what he's doing.
Btw, no disrespect - I get the humor behind the screen caps looking goofy, but Michael doesnt really need any help. He looks like Grimace in that cap. (Mike, I love you, and I thank you for all that you do for us - but please, please do some pushups man.)
I just saw it also and noticed that Blitzer never addressed Moore's charges as to why Blitzer and CNN never questioned the administration's runup to the war. Blitzer also never said why it took CNN three years to finally ask Cheney some straightforward questions about Iraq. Blitzer claimed that Dr. Gupta is an outstanding doctor while never asking how objective Gupta could be while being embedded with the troops. It is no wonder that CNN chooses to have Moore on its show about every three years since Moore chooses not to be embedded with either the government or CNN. Looking forward to Blitzer interviewing Michael Moore again tomorrow.
Michael Moore is cracking me up. Man he is pissed!
HOW DARE WOLFIE POOH LIE about the health care in germany!!!
As a american living here i can attest that wolf is FULL of shit!
you go Michael and bust those lying balls from the so called MSM.
Way to give it to him, Michael! Perhaps if Blitzer, et al, had asked the right questions, we might have 3600 young Americans alive and home with their loved ones.
What pissed me off about this was Lou Dobbs cowardly attack after the segment. He compared Moore to Chavez. Dobbs should stick to what he does best.....or should I say the only thing he does. Spew his racism against Mexicans.
Wooo-hoooooo! God bless you Michael!
Greg @ 26:
I agree, Dobbs is a racist fathead.
A+ Mike!
funny stuff ..
ol woofie still hasn't apologized
Freedom of speech looks great on Michael, doesn't it? It fits him so well. Michael you totally rock!
Social Security is "broken" because our wonderful elected officials can't keep their damn hands off the funds. They've been dipping into it for years to fund their other priorities.
Mike was on fire!!! He is one of the last people to speak out with guts. Watch as the Right-Wing machine begins its attack just like it slimed Cindy Sheehan. Gay 'journalist' Matthew Drudge is starting out by flashing 'breaking news' that Moore is a racist because he mocked Sanje Gupta on CNN. That's thier new angle: Michael Moore is a racist. The GOP scum make me so sick.
Wolf looks like a sicko. Take them to the cleaners, Michael. You speak for all of us!
Smack down on Wolfie!! I love it! Agree with Moore or not, he was dead on here!
Michael Moore demands apology from Wolf Blitzer
Michael Moore went off on Wolfie and CNN for a hit piece they aired about “SiCKO” right before he came on. He was hot! He slapped the beard around pretty good. "Why don’t you tell the truth to the American people? ... When are you going to ...
Michael Moore is an AMERICAN HERO!!! If anyone deserves a medal for courage, it is Moore and not some degenerate freak like George Tenet.
The GOP fanatics try to focus on stuff like criticism of Hillary in 'Sicko' as if that was the main theme of the movie. That is how craven these liars are. Someone like Andrew Sullivan, who personally despises Moore, know they can't fight the tide of support for the movie. So instead, they try to support tiny minutia and blow it up like "Look, Bill Clinton is to blame for this tragedy because Michael Moore shows that Hitlery is s dyke". The Republican scum are the most successful propagandist and smear merchants of our time.
cnn america has become very much like FAUX news.
Hence why i watch the news here. No lies and bullshit, no catering to some dillwad like murdoch, or someone similar, no partisain lean etc.
What the american ppl are being fed for news is nothing more then a farce! for those who want the real news check out this link.....
http://www.therealnews.com/web/index.php
enough is enough!
This is a great hero having a watershed moment. History, take notice
I love Michael Moore. They keep trying to marginalize him, make him some kind of left-wing Ann Coulter. He's done more for this country than the whole nest at CNN. He has more patriotism in his nail clippings than they do in all their portfolios. Fuck 'em. I would take Michael Moore over any of them, over all of them, any time, anywhere.
John,
Do you guys have the CNN piece that Michael Moore is talking about? It might provide a bit more context. Obviously I know from this it was a hit piece i'd just like to see it too.
thanks
Site Monitor: Passed on the request to the video people. We're working on it.
So you have no frame of reference,
Donny. You're like a child who
wanders in in the middle of a movie
and wants to know--
Wolf is a lying little tweeter.
Notice Wolf pulled out the cliche defense that all wingers use when they don't want to discuss the facts:
1. But Sanje Gupta was in Iraq risking his life
which is a variation of:
1. The troops are defending your freedoms in Iraq, how dare you question their mission.
2. Our heroes in Iraq are noble and pure, how dare you point out Haditha or Abu Ghraib, you traitor!
3. Anyone who risks their life in a wartime situation is by definition a patriotic hero and can't be questioned. How dare you!
feckin' hilarious - I like when wolfie says "we run commercials for the movie on cnn" as if that makes everything okay.
Moore did take a clear swipe at Hillary. He did praise her for her initiative in the first place, but then notes that the industry became a big HRC supporter after she gave up on the issue. The quote, I believe, was that she was "rewarded for her silence." I took the insinuation to be a kind of beat-em/join-em dynamic.
J. Lebowski @ 42:
Where's the money Lebowski?!
All right. Take note. Every progressive that goes on the big media should study how Michael Moore does it. Enough lies. Sick, sick, sicko of lies.
Goodonya, Mike! I did feel like he went a bit over the top, but that lead-up was sooooo goddamn skewed, I can understand his frustration.
The very least you can do when you invite a reputable guest on is to not belittle them as they're about to be interviewed.
The same thing happened when "Fahrenheit 911" came out. Every single MSM outlet created arguments against a couple of the film's assertations and made it seem like the entire movie was a propaganda piece.
To Michael's point, the media got Iraq wrong, which was worse than our leaders getting it wrong, because they had a chance to prevent it by better informing the public, and they failed their duty.
And people need to understand why they purposely get it wrong. Because they have financial agendas, be it advertising or military contracts.
This is not Nam. This is bowling.
There are rules.
michael moore doesnt sell any tickets this way, and more important, doesn't further his important cause by doing this kind of bill-o imitation
SWEET!!!
You guys are morons for worshipping the man. Michael Moore is no better then any of these fools. He's the left wing equivalent of Coulter, Limbaugh, and Hannity. He's just as much of a crook and liar as everyone else. It's not about right-wing and left-wing anymore, it's about pointing out the scum of America politics. And it's on both sides. Granted, it's easier to point out on the neo-cons on power, but the sooner we stop distorting the truth, from Limbaugh to Olbermann, from Cheney to Pelosi, then maybe then we can have the real story.
J. Lebowski @ 50:
Eight year olds, Dude.
It's all a goddamn fake. Like Lenin
said, look for the person who will
benefit. And you will, uh, you know,
you'll, uh, you know what I'm trying
to say--
Little Lebowski Urban Achievers, yes, and proud we are of all of them.
Here in Germany when one say, needs a dr late at night, all you have to do is call the 112 number and yes indeed a dr team arrives, and assess the situation . if a hospital visit is in order then they call the Ambulance for you. 24 hour pharmacys are open from everything to a bad tooth ache to a burn from a stove . and if you cant drive there, guess what folks? they will deliver the meds!
everyone here is coverd with insurance. that includes dental and eye. Of course if you fail to go the dentist once a yr as recommened and they find a problem, your going to have to pay some to correct that. BUT only if it was due to neglient care on your side. Even those that arive here and have no job, become insured.
And WOLF BLITZER lied thur his fucking teeth tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now tell me where in the USA are services like i mentioned available for the every day joe? Ohhhh wait,, thats right,, only if your a member of congress or ubber rich.
suck on your lies CNN USA!!! its no wonder cnn international wishes NOT to carry wolf blitzer. Larry king and anderson cooper yes .
I was actually disappointed by how unrestrained he was. Don't forget, "Look, he's a wackjob!! heheh" is considered a completely valid argument among many right-wing circles. I worry this will end up further radicalizing the right, and even the left.
Wolf's beard would really tie the room together, would it not?
You know Wolfie was scribbling a note to himself..."in future show hit piece AFTER guest has already been on".
We're talking about unchecked agression here.
Mike is the bellwether for the growing anger in America and I applaud his indignation and conviction. Its gotten to the point that anyone showing real unscripted passion is immediately written off as a nut case, and I expect the usual suspects to respond in kind.
BTW,Lou Dobbs is a sanctimonious hand job.
Rug-peers did not do this. I mean
look at it. Young trophy wife.
Marries a guy for money but figures
he isn't giving her enough. She
owes money all over town--
How stupid is CNN? I didn't see all of Gupta's report, but even if they have the facts behind them, they'd better come with it if they are going to introduce Michael Moore after saying he "fudged the facts" in his movie. Is that how they introduce Coulter or Ingraham or Kate O'Beirne? If I were Moore, I'd be mad as hell.
Note, in Gupta's piece (I can't find a transcript), he claims Moore "fudged the facts," but on its website, CNN grudgingly admits that Moore's statistics are accurate:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/06/28/sicko.fact.check/index.html?iref=ne...
I guess you can only get so far lying if you have to put it in writing.
Oh, please dear! I've got news for
you: the Supreme Court has roundly
rejected prior restraint!
Enjoying my coffee...
Kita @ 44:
their you go ignorence is bliss read it and weep on your way back to saveing us from the turreists!
What was the "hit piece" about before the interview? Link?
Michael Moore is quickly becoming my hero. I work in a doctor's office and everything he says in Sicko about health insurance companies is TRUE. Go Michael.
Fuck CNN.
I got buddies who died face-
down in the muck so you and I could
enjoy this public forum!
Saw it. Loved it. Moore spoke with the fiery determination that I'm still waiting to hear from politicians.
Old Billy @ 64:
And let's also not forget--let's not
forget, Dude--that keeping wildlife,
an amphibious rodent, for uh,
domestic, you know, within the city--
that isn't legal either
I could be sitting here
with just pee-stains
on my rug.
Wolf Blitzer = Empty Suit
How amazing would it be if we had ELECTED LEADERS who would go on TV and stand up for us like this? How about a John Kerry demanding an apology from Wolf? How about a Joe Biden demanding answers from ABC News for their terrible war coverage?
You may think Michael Moore is just a movie maker, but at least he has the guts to ask questions no one else will.
jb @ 53:
Let me make it really simple for you, jb. Don't trust anyone. Get the facts for yourself. Real journalists tell you their sources. And there's a difference between anecdotal stories and statistical studies.
Olbermann, Pelosi, and Moore aren't asking you to trust them. They are telling you to look at the objective facts. Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, and Cheney are lying to you. The truth is right there, and they are telling you that up is down and black is white. Good luck with your false parallels.
Why doesn't CNN have debunk pieces over mAnn Coulter's books?
Boy Michael is mad. He's my hero. And yes, our family HAS turned off the TV news. It sucks.
And everything Michael says about health insurance in Sicko is TRUE. Capitalism needs to be taken out of medicine ASAP. Michael is right - there should be NO profit in medicine.
Ali @ 69:
Fuck the tournament?!
Michael Moore. You're my hero. Wolf sounded even more constipated than normal
CNN is neither objective nor -- HHAHAHAHAH sorry -- librul. They sit a hair's breadth to the left of Fox and that's only because Bill O'Reilly's hardon straight up aggravatges Wolf's sciatica.
fantastic!
go michael..woo!
Ah Wolf, yet another in a long line who trade integrity for access to power. I don't think M.Moore understands that about guys like Wolf and the rest of the Washington crowd - that they'll sell out in a heartbeat for access because that's how they make a living. And you cannot make a man understand something if his livelihood depends on him not understanding it, so all of Moore's yelling don't do jack to Wolf personally, but maybe it affected some people watching?
Pow right in the MSM kisser!! God Bless Michael Moore!
Sanje Gupta was in Iraq risking his life
HA!
he was also one of the shrills to cry BIRD FLU!!!!!!!! we are all going to die. All Sanje does and says is nothing more then catering for the morons that Run CNN and the media. I saw him over in iraq doing his reports of course having massive sercurity around him. The man has no clout when it comes to the nads factor. Go back to doing something good for mankind there Sanje. Your job as a cnn pawn , just does not become you .
Old Billy @ 64:
Thanks for website...which seems to validate exactly what Michale Moore said and says
in his Movie. CNN owes Moore an apology...
Mayor Juliani is an idiot! Socialized medicine is what we need.
This is what Dem spokespeople should do every time they're on a cable news show...not let the Interviewer control the agenda like Chris Matthews does. Michael took Blitzer by his beard and thrashed him around a bit...Wolf was quite speechless.
Yay truth and Moore-go gettem!
Kita @ 44:
Moore was on ABC yesterday morning I think and was telling ABC that they were carrying the administration's water in the lead-up to the war, and the host goes right into the risking our lives/embedded crap. When will someone tell the MSM that the "embedding" program is a pentagon coup? All it does is restrict the actual journalism that can be done while scaring the hell out of the media and turning journalists into cheerleaders. Journalists need perspective - that's hard to do when getting shot at.
a guy @ 79:
The Dude abides...
The hit piece that is referred to was a report that Sanjay Gupta did before the movie came out. It didn't seem really all that bad at the time. He really didn't claim that Moore was wrong, but rather that some of his figures were questionable. There were several claims by Gupta in which he corrected Moore's figures. When I saw the film, Moore made no such claim and in fact stated almost the exact same thing as Gupta.
I don't know that it was so much a hit piece as a review from someone who perhaps didn't see the film himself and was relying on second-hand information. Regardless, CNN should have expected what they got.
I love this quote by Guliani:
Wolf asks Moore "what do you say to that?" Apparently Moore was not paying attention to Guliani as Americas Mayor inserted his foot in his own mouth, because his retort was "so he hates Medicare?"
But Guliani is right. Free market principles have really reduced costs. These companies spend hardly anything to provide patients with a level of care standard across the industry. (Unfortunately that level is close to zero, but Guliani is speaking from the perspective of an insurance company, not a patient, so that is irrelevant.)
As far as "ruining medicine in the United States", again that depends squarely on whether we are speaking from a patient's perspective or that of his insurer.
I wish Michael would stay on the Sicko topic instead of going off on the war. The media let us down on the war - maybe he can drops some hints to them about really investigating the shape of the US health care system.
Dude @ 89:
This aggression will not stand, man.
You people on every issue are as deer caught in headlights.
"Olbermann, Pelosi, and Moore aren’t asking you to trust them. They are telling you to look at the objective facts. Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, and Cheney are lying to you. The truth is right there, and they are telling you that up is down and black is white. Good luck with your false parallels."
Well Said.
Jason @ 94:
Who is "you people?"
>Saw it. Loved it. Moore spoke with the fiery determination that I’m still waiting to hear from politicians.
Amen - he said exactly what I used to say every time I watched Wolf Blitzer .... 3 years ago - before I cancelled my cable subscription for the exact reasons that Moore states.
Good for MM, for years Wolfie (aka Leslie) has needed a jolt.
SiCKO is another great movie from MM and if you haven't seen it, SEE IT!
Please start engaging with others that you speak with about it, or more importantly about the sad state of health care in this country so it becomes a MAJOR issue in the '08 election, make them accountable to a plan, it seems only Edwards has a definitive plan, tell all your family, friends and co-workers to pay close attention to this very important issue. Thanks for reading my soapbox comments on this issue:-)
BTW Notice how Weenie Wolf would not address Moore's main point that CNN hit pieced him in 2004 and did NOT do their job in questioning these assholes on why we went to war and where the weapons of mass destruction were. The MSM FAILED us completely and Wolf is too chicken shit to admit it.
Here's the ABC interview in which the same topics are discussed:
http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=3273617&page=1
Sorry, its actually from June 13.
So much fun to watch Woof squirm and stutter!!!!! (He actually took it pretty well. Bill O'Reilly would have launched a tear on him that would have been hilarious to see! I can hear the Fox blow holes now...., "Moore is unhinged. Unglued. He's shrill, bombastic and hostile. He's a loon. He's totally crazy". Oh yeah, this clip will be analyzed down to the nano-second and it will carry their newscasts for days and days....They'll have their medical Foxperts on to diagnose him, too...... Rosie O'Donnell must be soooo relieved.
As for me, I loved it! MM rocked da house!
the chinaman is not the issue here, dude
Wolf was smirking like the Chimp. Wolf is a traitor to America.
Thanks John,
This is exactly what needed to be said to the MSM.
Long live the blogs.
ashton @ 96:

Trust me, it's not only relevant, but related to Moore's allusion on CNN. He's no less of a jack boot media hack than those who he attacked in that piece.
Now then, go express your outrage to your Representative, and do it quickly.
Michael Moore has be astonishingly CORRECT. I am an American who got ill during my trip to Australia. During which I went to get medical care at that time. The Doctor accepted me in to his office, prescribed me medication and charged me less than $20 Austrailian dollars. This save my insurance money since they didn't have to pay for it under my HMO.
Futhermore he is correct that the MAIN-STREAM media that was funded by big corporation has been silent about many facts that affect AMERICA, protecting thier corporate clients that pay them money for airing TV commercials and select political coverages that protects their politician ( puppets) in their payroll (for better lack of words).
We'll be posting Dr. Gupta's piece soon...for context...And you guys are right...Wolf might introduce Coulter as controversial, but he wouldn't insert a hit piece before she showed up...
CNN = Ablog
BOTH ARE LIARS SO SCREW THEM BOTH.

Nonsense! You need to stop drinking the coolade. While the dems leave a lot to be desired, to compare someone like pelosi with coulter and limbaugh is absurd. You need to apply logic to your statements, and think before you write.
Coulter and limbaugh earn obscene amounts of money based solely on their ability to propagandize for a criminal enterprise. And will do and say anything to further their goals. BTW, one of the most effective tools of the propagandist is to reduce everything to a, 'well, they all do it' scenario, so people like you end up believing that there's really no substantial difference between things like lying us into war and, say, lying about sleeping around.
Got to the third sentence and skipped it. Off-topic copying and pasting is boring and pointless.
The White House is really scared of the movie Sicko. The movie was all true facts even the comments about Canada which I just came back from vacation and yes it's all free medical. Yes they pay for it in their taxes. The US gets enough money but gives it to other areas and big business. Everything that Mr. Moore said about Iraq is true. More documents have come out showing the Iraq invasion was about oil control. I did notice that as Sicko came out all the major channels and Fox news had specials about how great US medical care is. Bush should be proud of the US medical program as more people will die for lack of medical care and reduce the number of people who will get Social Security. America is 2% haves/ 98% have nots. Until the have nots get sick they will follow what ever George says. Look for our taxes to go up as Bush has borrowed over 7 Trillion dollars in the US Treasury. You wont hear the name Bill Clinton when that report comes out. Yes the GOP and Bush supporters hate Bill Clinton but Americans had no debt and even had a surplus of money in the US Treasury. But Americans will say all this is Bill Clintons fault anyway rather then to blame the GOP and Bush Administration. At lease George W. Bush kept his promise and didn't bother Osama Bin Liden, Bush kept him safe.
My wife noticed that CNN ran at least four ads from the drug companies during that hour in the Situation Room when Blitzer interviewed Michael Moore. It would seem apparent that CNN knows which side their bread is buttered and that is the side which favors big corporations such as the drug industry. The lesson from all this should be, as one of my bumper stickers proclaims, to always Question Authority.
YippeeEEEE! gooooOOOO!!! MIKey!!!
Saw 'Sicko' at a budget matinee, first film I've attended in years. Moore does laud Hillary's First Lady efforts, but shows no sympathy for her sellout. His optimism here that she might reconsider is very generous, actually.
Without Medicare/Medicaid I'd be long dead. The HMO I had as a teacher slashed my salary by 20% due to increased medical 'deductibles,' over the insurance in place when I was hired; and, that at the same time LAUSD permanently syphoned off 10% of our salaries - the promised restoration never forthcoming. Prolonged illness put me out of a job and in the street for way too long; but, with Medi/Medi I'm told I am now able to go to nearly any doctor I choose. I've had excellent medical care, much of it far beyond what I could afford as a working professional.
Sure, Socialized Medicine sucks - the bloat, fat, and bluster right out of the insurance racketeers.
Sanje Gupta is no journalist at all. His piece was idiotic because it was obvious he is another timid media figure who is scared shitless of the right-wing dittoheads (like the thugs who protested the vote-counting in Florida). So he structured his whole medical piece as if "OK, we have to leave the impression that this is all up in the air. That way we don't defend the Bush nuts". Gupta is a shill pure and simple. The fact that he went to Iraq doesn't mean squat.
Kita @ 44:
Exactly! Right wing Republican talking point. It's the first thing Wolfe thought to say. He is a right winger and uses the Republican talking points everyday on his CNN broadcasts.
Sure, Moore did a great job. But this has made me wonder if Wolff is really the bad guy we all think he is.
I can't imagine the segment was intended to be ten minutes long. That's very long for any story on the cables. It looks like Wolff extended it, so as not to penalize Moore for his rant.
Plus, the very dry "You did" in response to Moore's question "Did I mention that? (CNN's bad coverage of the lead-up to war), was hysterical! I think maybe the guy has a sense of humor.
This doesn't excuse any of his horrible, un-professional behavior. But, I'm starting to think there's someone in there.
Billions and Billions from the healthcare insurance indusrty.
CNN sold out.
ashton @ 110:
That's not the problem. You don't have the attention span for anything other than bling. Hence the deer statement. My point still stands.
Moore seems more sympathetic to Hillary in this interview than he is in the film. At first he praises her position, then shows how she sold out her convictions. I expect her do nothing less if she ever became President.
You know the wingnuts are desperate when they show up at Progressive blogs and try to equate Micheal Moore to Ann Coulter and real investigative journalism to Fox News. It's the false equivalance game. They've run out of defenses and are no longer able to claim that Fox News is "Fair and Balanced" and that the Corporate Media is Liberal. Those dogs won't hunt anymore so they have to muddy the waters as much as they can. Just read the posts from the other day attacking Shuster for his style when he smacked down wing nut lies about the Plame investigation and any thread about Micheal Moore. I suspect some of the above criticisms of Moore above are actually from PR professionals working for Big Pharma and the health insurance industry. Monica, JB and James Jensen II, what have you to say for yourselves?
baby jesus has a ppo
baby jesus supports Moore & Universal health care
more live humans equals more tidings.
Now if only you understood what the cliche meant. Seek attention elsewhere.
Ali @ 92:
I think it's great that Moore brought the coverage of the Iraq War up. The main stream media needs to be taken to task. They haven't been held accountable.
Why would you want the topic to be swept under the rug?
Some people will never learn. I guess when George Bush, Paris Hilton, and Wolfe Blitzer are you heros, you are sure to be brain dead.
ashton @ 122:
The attention isn't for me. It's about your Constitutional rights you're allowing to be stolen from you by media hack spin doctors, asshat.
Bling, bling, bling.
John Amato @ 107:
John: Be sure you give the date Dr. Gupta made these statements. I believe he
made them BEFORE "Sicko" was even released and as far as I know, he had not even
seen the movie.
Sanje Gupta was in Iraq risking his life
PLEASE SPARE ME THE BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, Moore had some Wolf for dinner!
Let's drop the spinless Democratic leadership and elect Speaker of the House Cindy Sheehan and Senate Majority leader Michael Moore!
Very, very nice work by Michael Moore. The choicest bit was the question about why it took Blitzer four years to finally confront Cheney. Very nice work.
thank you Michael Moore! we have to fight to win back America's Honesty, Truth, and Integrity.
it's a fight worth fighting. way to go, keep blasting these bastards with the truth!
As much of a cynic as I am, I applaud Mr. Moore for giving the smackdown to "Mother of All" Blitzer. Did he change his name before Gulf "War" One or what? Never heard of anyone named Blitzer, except one of Santa's reindeers. Good one Michael!! 'Bout time that arrogant assclown ate some crow.
jb @ 53:
um, bullshit. You're a moron if you think michael equals Ann "the 9/11 widows are harpies, john edwards is a fag and should be killed in a terrorist attack" coulter.

Michael Moore finally called them out (CNN, Blitzer, Doctor SANJAY GUPTA, the MSM, etc.) and relentlessly
torched them, not giving them any room to get away with their lies, distortions, and distractions, on IRAQ
and on health care. These people with their high-paying jobs have EVERY INTEREST in maintaining the
status quo and preserving the establishment, which is exactly why there are inherent conflicts of interests
that will forever prevent them from ever doing their full journalistic duties and investigating and reporting
truths wherever they find them and taking them to their ultimate conclusions no matter where they lead.
But this won't happen with these types of people... it will come from the bloggers and the "little people" (who these "elites" hate so much... like that snob Brian Williams and the other big network talking heads.) Why? Because these "elites" have conflicting self-interests.. they won't do anything to bite the hand that feeds them.. they want to maintain the status quo and protect the establishment, because that is how they maintain their quality of life and high paychecks. Sure, they can throw around a few bits of probing news here and there, but it's way short of what they should be doing if the got into the business not for money but to report the truth and call out untruths so their viewerships can be better informed to make important decisions in their lives.
The Dems, lead by Pelosi and Reed, need to learn from this. Republicans already know this, and take advantage of it to good effect, and it's about time the Dems also realize the following: YOU MUST TAKE THE OFFENSIVE, DO NOT LET ANY LIES/DISTORTIONS/FALLACIES GO UNCHALLENGED, and be relentless in forcing
the deceivers into a corner, leaving them no room for that non-sense. For example, on the Sunday show on CBS that Bob Sheiffer hosts, this past weekend Schumer and Orin Hatch were guests, and Schumer did a piss poor job of calling out the recycled BS lies that Orin was trying to sell yet again. This kind of thing needs to be stopped as soon as they exit the lips of the deceivers. The troops in IRAQ deserve better than a mismanaged war, a war of choice, a war that was based on lies, to continue a day further putting them in jeopardy. These so-called leaders need to stop looking for the most politically advantageous strategy with winding down the war, and instead put at the forefront of consideration what is best to safe the lives of our troops and what is a sound way to minimize the damage that Bush/Cheney & Co., have done to our country and to the world, and to MILLIONS of IRAQIS whose lives seem to be discounted and not viewed to be as valuable or important as AMERICAN lives. This needs to change.
Back to the CNN segment that is the topic of this thread... JACK CAFFERTY AND LOU DOBBS should be ashamed of themselves for their responses immediately following Moore's interview. Again, two highly-paid
people who really are let downs here.. they had a chance to say that Michael Moore was onto something and made alot of valid and important points.. and that CNN in fact did fall short during the run-up to the IRAQ war... instead, they attack Michael Moore, making stupid comments like how Wolfe doesn't get paid enough to put up with what he did in his interview with Moore. To Wolfe's credit, he didn't dignify Cafferty's comment with a response. Cafferty is one that in his "Cafferty File" segment always criticizes how the Bush Admin lied us into war and etc... but he makes himself look like a huge jackass here with his dissing of Moore, rather than addressing the substance of what he was angry about. SANJAY GUPTA, the part-time doctor, part-time CNN medical expert, part-time astronaut, part-time computer programmer, part-time blah blah blah... will have a segment tomorrow responding to Moore's comments tonight.. Moore is posting his proof that GUPTA was wrong and is smearing him with false information... it'll be interesting to see GUPTA's response and how it stands up to the info Moore will post on his website tonight.
NYT, Washington Post, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, etc.. are all trash... I'm glad there's the internet and bloggers to piece together information these bigshots are either too lazy to do or too conflicted by their own self-interests to do. Until the powers that be find some way to limit the free flow of info on the internet too that is..............

Erroll @ 112:
What a BIG surprise...Pharma advertising/sponsering ads on CNN. If that doesn't
give you a clue as to CNN's profit motive/greed, nothing will.
What a great clip. Why sit still for a hatchet job, pick up the hatchet and start lopping heads.
Doggiebobo @ 134:
its just hilarious how blatant they are.
Why is it so damned exciting to hear one drop of truth on a main stream media broadcast? We should be hearing the truth all the time. We should be hearing real questions being asked and honest answers given.
It is just wrong to wait for just a crumb of truth to be broadcast on our television stations in the United States of America.
Americans should not have to be starved for truth.
This is just so wrong.
Our leaders have failed us so terribly.
Our leaders and media continue to lie to us.
If you think werewolf is bad check this fucking douche bag dan abrams @ msnbc.
Amazing. This why Moore rules!!
MICHAEL! MICHAEL! MICHAEL!
I used to have so much respect for CNN. Years ago. We need a real news network that isn't in the ReThugs' back pockets. Long live the internet.
Back before Turner started merging with Time/Warner/AOHell, when he was a hands-on owner.
Haha this is what happens when newsreaders masquerade as journalists. :)
Absolutely, incredible performance by Micheal Moore. My hat is off to you Michael. You are my Hero!!!
Woo hoo! Now it really IS morning in America again! It's sure been one helluva long dark night.
It's interesting how many wing nuts are claiming to be moderates these days and how both sides are just as bad. Posing as moderates, claiming to be above partisanship and making false comparisons to muddy the waters is the only trick they have left in their bag.
GO Michael go.. Great man if ever there was one. He gave it hard to this once upon a time lobbyist for AIPAC Wolf Blitzer. This third rate mediawhore did not have the decency to give a proper introduction to Moore. When your pockets are being filled with green dough from the corporations, you would not want to rock the boat!! Such a hack is Blitzer. shameless fellow.
MICHAEL MOORE IS GREAT!!
Poor Wolfie. In the last 12 months, he's become the Rodney Dangerfield of journalists, getting it from both sides.
Frankly, I love it...
...From frame one, he looks pissed. *Pissed*.
