Jason Jones: The first lady. We've looked to her for moral guidance. We have looked at her as our nation's mother. But the one thing we have never done, is looked at her.

That Dolly Madison was a saucy vixen
Lots mo betta than Jackie K, IMHO.
Who is this "we" that haven't looked at her like that ?
The GOP ?
That's because they're pre-occupied ..........In the mens room.
I'm up for adoption if Kucinich wins.
Could I have those minutes of my life back after watching such a lame, childish and insulting interview?
Mrs. Kucinich, MMMMMMmmmmm.
And she married him for what reason?
But I go back to Roselyn. She was okay as a FLILF. (SNL actually did some bit on her being hot, back in the day. Made me look at her in a whole nother way. Don't need a sketch to appreciate MRS. Kucinich. What a vibe, even with this moronic Jason Jones, who I completely envy right now).
And now comes the part where I apologize, realizing that this isn't one of "those" internet sites.
John @ 2:
Hmmm, I thought Jackie was pretty hott!
I think she's a good sport for appearing on this bit.
Mmmmmmm.... FLILF
GURLGE!!!
Jones is the Chevy Chase of TDS.
Why is this clip here?
Doug @ 5:
the fact that it is brought to you by Comedy Central should've clued you in. :)
See? I'm normally a fan of the Daily Show and anybody who knows me will tell you that I'm no prude but I didn't smile even once during that bit. Men actually find that crap funny?
Margaret @ 12:
What about Jackie O?
man, she is a knockout
It's cringe comedy, Margaret. Not everybody likes it.
I actually cringed while imaging being in the guy's shoes. You want to stop watching, but a train wreck is happening and I just couldn't turn away.
Otherwise, that's the first time I ever saw more than a photo of the woman. And she's hard not to watch for completely different reasons. You've got to admit, she exudes sex appeal. And yes, she actually has a brain, I see. She must be quite something in real life.
I'm with Margaret--I tend to avoid Jones' stuff because it always gives me the irrational urge to bitch-slap the overgrown fratboy.
Unfortunately, Art. II, sec. 5 of the Constitution says that the First Lady must have been born in this country. Sorry Ms. K.
Margaret @ 12:
Not when I'm watching the show with my wife.
cubiclegrrl @ 17:
That's just it! It's like that srtupid MTV show "Jackass". How can anybody over 13 find any redeeming value in that guy?
I thought the interview was pretty stupid too. But America is ready and more importantly needs her husband Dennis! If this helped get a few more people interested in his campaign then great. Mrs. Kucinich is definitly attractive but lets get back to the issues and not worry about spouses now.
Okay I just watched the clip and now I find it highly offensive and sexist and stupid.
I'm surprised Elizabeth let herself be degraded in that way.
What would Bubba be called after Hillary wins?
Often.
Unfortunately the country had better be prepared for a FGILF,...First Gentleman I'd Like to,..meh you get the picture,..
Oh, I fully agree about Kucinich and I don't care what his wife looks like. It's Jason Jones humor that I find incomprehensible.
Margaret @ 12:
On behalf of the undifferentiated homogeneous mass that is my gender, yes.
Jeri Kehn Thompson's the hottie in this race. Period. She makes my tongue hard.
>If this helped get a few more people interested in his campaign then great.
Wow.
Margaret @ 20:
Oh, I see. This is hard to do. Using the word 'Redeeming' and 'Men Find it Funny', in the same sentence.
"The only redeeming value that Jason Jones exhibits, is that men find him funny."
No, I'm clearly not getting it.
And 'Jackass' is just stupid.
The point of the Jason Jones humor is that we get to laugh at ourselves and not feel so bad that we're men. We don't have to be robots. We can have inappropriate feelings and not be evil.
What a stupid statement. There have been many beautiful First Ladies. Jaqueline Kennedy comes to mind immediately. Laura Bush is also gorgeous, but George wouldn't let her out in public. He didn't want to be upstaged. She could have been a real trend-setter. This Jason guy must be a juvenile if he thinks we've never seen the First Lady as a fox.
I'm with Margaret. Kucinich all the way, it doesn't hurt that his wife is intelligent and attractive, but Jone's humor (if you can call it that) is moronic.
Piren @ 31:
Of course it is.
Take one any day over the FLILB we have today.
Doug @ 5:
Here's a quarter, buy a sense of humor.
kaT @ 30:
Laura Bush? The tubby in the bad pantsuits? Please.
Jones is an ass. The whole bit is stupid. Sexist. Dumb. But that doesn't change the fact that Mrs. Kucinich is still a babe.
And did Scarborough really say that? What an ass.
kaT @ 30:
You think Botox Betty is attractive?
Geez, I thought I was sick being secretly attracted to Margaret Dumont.
POLL SHOWS INDEPENDENT VOTERS MAY ‘FLILF-FLOP’
cristalyn @ 22:
Well said. Apparently the point of this mindless clip was to objectify women and to ignore the fact that Mrs. Kucinich has a brain and can think and analyze problems. I heard her and her husband speak a few months ago and it was obvious that this woman was and is highly intelligent. Another example of the dumbing-down of the American media.
Bit NOLA @ 16:
Hell yeah ....................
I'd eat the corn out of her crap
And I don't even like corn.
If I knew what FLILF meant maybe I could answer the question. :(
Weaseldog @ 11:
Well said. Some of us enjoy a sense of humor. The fact that a candidate's wife (and the candidate, in an earlier episode) can go on a show like Colbert's and have a fun and interesting interview should be considered a good thing. If you don't enjoy some not-so-subtle comedy, then don't watch Colbert.
ysbaddaden @ 37:
She had class. And a stove...
cristalyn @ 22:
Shouldn't you be baking cookies?
I'm kidding. But jesus, lighten up people, it's a comedy show. Should we all just sit around and fret about politics all day or laugh once in a while? I choose to laugh on occasion.
Erroll @ 39:
You are over analyzing this. I promise.
IgnoranceIsNotBliss @ 41:
First Lady I'd Like to [Make Love To]
Weaseldog at 29,
Nicely done. Kinda fits your name. Weasely and doggy and true.
ysbaddaden @ 37:
I'll see your Margaret Dumont and raise you a Carol Cleveland.
ysbaddaden @ 23:
Very funny!
Regarding Jason Jones, I guess I'm in the minority here -- I find him consistently hilarious. You guys realize he's *playing* a dumb guy, right?
Aaaaaaahhhhhhh Well how-de-do! My my my...
So Dennis Kucinich has decided to bolster his candidacy by trotting out the little lady. Granted the 'little lady' is three feet taller than Mr. Kucinich... but one can never have too much of a good thing. But is America ready to have a leggy, green-eyed vixen in the White House? Placing her at ease in my hot tub, I will proceed to examine the qualifications of the erstwhile Mrs. Kucinich to be First Lady... conduct a thorough inspection of her poise and personal attributes, probe her positions on various issues, and attempt to lay bare her innermost secrets. *scuffle* What!? WHAT!? I'm only preparing for the upcoming erec... I mean elections! *scuffle*
kaT @ 30:
Laura Shrub is "gorgeous" ?
Yeah , if you're into mannequins ............
Rep. Squeezy McFeelpants @ 50:
That lady wouldn't keep you for a cat .......
Greg @ 44:
I do have a sense of humor but as a feminist I found it tasteless. I just don't like how he totally objectified her as a sex object and then when she was talking we couldn't hear a thing she was saying. That is suggesting that she isn't meant to be heard, just looked at--which is more than a little misogynistic, joke or not. It would have been funnier if he had actually allowed her to speak instead of having her on the show just to look pretty and clueless.
Rusty Shackleford @ 46:
Oh dear! Being a girl myself, that's a big negative for me.
Very funny!
Say what you want. Clinton would not have cheated on Laura Bush! She is a voluptuous woman. Hate her politics AND her taste in men, but the Black Widow of politics is also a fox. After looking at his own mother all his life, Junior needed the relief.
Weaseldog @ 43:
Ah, I can see her standing over it now...
IgnoranceIsNotBliss @ 41:
Call me a prude, but MILF should not bandied about like it was an acceptable "word". It's degrading, disgusting, and frankly typically used by guys that have absolutely no hope of talking to, let alone f-ing the woman in question!
To demean any woman's mind by focusing your audiences attention to her body belittles the interviewer and makes you look like a tool for Fox.
>Regarding Jason Jones, I guess I’m in the minority here — I find him consistently >hilarious. You guys realize he’s *playing* a dumb guy, right?
Riiiiight ... and that Colbert guy is *playing* a Republican ...
Margaret @ 12:
Yes. It's a running joke on the Daily Show. They had the whole NILF analysis - which was done by a woman btw.
cristalyn @ 53:
May I suggest that the point of his humor was to make himself look foolish, for our amusement? As in, he's such a horny toad that he can't even pay attention when an attractive woman speaks. I personally don't see how this skit reflected poorly on her at all.
Rep. Squeezy McFeelpants @ 50:
you are obviously NOT Andrew Marvel. but you ARE too funny!
And here I've been thinking she's Dennis's daughter!
That she's such a good sport about this shows she has the emotional strength to endure being First Lady. I think it is still quite demeaning, considering what an accomplished and intelligent lady she is-
http://www2.kucinich.us/elizabeth
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Kucinich
http://www.dennis4president.com/meet-elizabeth/
She could be compared to Eleanor Roosevelt, in her work for social and economic justice. I find her revealed inner self far lovelier than her outward appearance.
Sure, this bit was insulting, focusing solely on her looks. However, if Dennis wins the Presidency, the right wing noise machine will attempt to do far worse to her than this bit of silliness.
That is hilarious !!!! FLILF !! LMAO
BaScOmBe @ 56:
Based upon what ?
Because you believe Laura Shrub is attractive ?
Because every man that has cheated does it with a woman that is better-looking than their spouse and/or because their spouse is deemed unattractive ?
My what a glorious and tremendous understanding you have there..............
Am I the only one that will question the Article 2, section 5 comment about the first lady being born in this country...I don't see an article five in section 2. Maybe I'm just the one who was dumb enough to look.
BaScOmBe @ 56:
Plus there's the whole Librarian fantasy scenario.
Rusty Shackleford @ 61:
She allowed herself to be objectified for a few cheap laughs, that is unless she had no idea what they were going to do with the clip. I do think you have a point though, its supposed to make him look bad not her. However, as a huge fan and supporter of Kucinich I wish she hadn't gone down that road. She is way better than that. :) She's much more than a pretty face.
Here's who Elizabeth Kucinch reminds me of:
http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Mptv/1189/6827_0004.jpg
I thought it was very funny, and I'll definitely have to watch out for if I ever happen to be in the vicinity of Elizabeth Kucinich now that I know she can read minds.
cristalyn @ 53:
The joke wasn't that she was pretty and clueless. The joke was that she is *smart* and he is too preoccupied with dumb male distractions to listen.
Also, it was clear to me that she was in on the joke, and she was saying something scripted to be dry. In other words, don't worry, you didn't miss any pearls of wisdom from her. If you want to hear her *really* speaking, there are other places to look.
You can suggest it but they won't get it. They probably think Colbert is a rightwing bully too.
unfrozencaveman @ 68:
With a yardstick?
...Wait, that's nuns isn't it.
bob @ 58:
1st off , she's married ; and it doesn't matter that it's to Kucinich , whom I admire greatly.
She is off-limits to me , as far as that goes.
Stating the obvious (that she's very attractive) , is demeaning HOW ?
Especially considering that most people have never heard Elizabeth utter a word ......
And she's appearing on THE DAILY SHOW ; not PBS' Nova.
And look how sweet and great a sport she was about the whole thing ; it isn't about guys that are claiming they'd have a shot at banging her.
Despite his lack of height , who's to say besides Mrs Kucinich that Denny boy might be hung like a Shetland pony , in addition to being a stand-up guy and probably the only one worth a damn to become president ........
"It's..also..a palindrome."
ROFLMAO!!!
is america ready for a FLILF?
umm, hello, does anyone remember barbara bush??? now there was a FLILF!!
bleh, i made myself dry heave.
(and, jason jones is friggin' heeeelarious)
IgnoranceIsNotBliss @ 54:
IgnoranceIsNotBliss @ 41:
If you change your mind let us know.
I find absolutely nothing attractive about Laura Bush.
To each his own.
I think Elizabeth is an asset to Dennis. Not only is she beautiful, she is refined, absolutely a LADY and brilliant. Thompson's wife, on the other hand although being fairly pretty has the look of a bimbo who is hanging onto Thompson for what, money? Has anyone heard her speak?
Elizabeth definitely could bring a positive aspect to the white house.
unfrozencaveman @ 68:
Oh, yeah! The one where little George pretends he's actually read a whole book!!
Whenever Elizabeth would enter a room every man would stand,
because they'd find it difficul to sit afterwards.
Are YOU a Humorless Stick-Up-The-Butt Liberal? Take this quick test!
First: watch the video!
Then check - is your only feeling is one of anger? Disgust? Righteous indignation? Do you despise the rampant male cheauvanism and the objectification of the candidates' wives?
Congratulations! It's likely that you ARE a Humorless Stick-Up-The-Butt Liberal!
With the presidential campaign kicking into high gear, HSUTBL's are needed more than ever! Your valuable input can help shape campaign speeches that won't offend anybody! And newspapers and the blogosphere need YOUR guidance, pointing out when things other people find funny are actually serious signs of How Bad Things Have Gotten!
The Humorless Stick-Up-The-Butt Liberal: a Proud Part of America! And that's not funny!
This clip on the Daily Show was funny. But a much more revealing clip is from MSNBC today where Norah O'Donnell interviewed Mrs. Kucinich. She showed Norah how to properly respect another woman. Very impressive.
Samson- @ 77:
Yeah , but Barbara Shrub's "FLILF" designation stands for : Female Loser I'd Love (to)Fling (off a mountaintop)
ysbaddaden @ 74:
Yeah this one is chainlinked reading glasses and the punishments associated with late fees
cristalyn @ 53:
Jason Jones never allows anyone to finish an argument. And he tries hard to be a little misogynistic jerk. That is the essence of his character on the show. He's channeling Joe Scarborough.
As far as the comment about being a feminist is concerned, I don't actually have a clue what that means anymore. My mother got into that in the 1970s and taught me it was about coming home at 3am drunk on a school / work night, screeching about how men are evil and women are perfect beings. Then laying into me for everything my father ever did or didn't do..
Every time a women tells me she is a feminist, that's the picture that comes to mind.
And intellectually, men understand the whole sex object argument, but it doesn't really make sense. I don't know that we have the right perspective. For me it feels like women want to be thought of as genderless and sexless objects, like the Asgard on Stargate. Intellectually I know that isn't what they mean. But I don't how not to be attracted to intelligent women that are nice to me.
i have a feeling Jason Jones' fan base are straight guys with beer bellies. The guys is just plain OBNOXIOUS!!
snoozer @ 57:
Oh I can't see the stove...
ysbaddaden @ 70:

Can't get the image of Pat Nixon wearin' nothin' but whipped creamm outta my head.
83 Albatross
It behooves stick up the butt liberals to learn how to work this to their advantage.
(The reichwing probably thinks all liberal males are gay anyway).
She is an articulate, intelligent diginified woman who shares impeccable values with her husband. Leave the sexual leers to O'Reilly, and don't hide behind the "fuck" acronyms like MTV.
Weaseldog @ 90:
It worked for me off of your posting. Google the image of Carol Borland.
Andy K @ 91:
Think Pat Boone instead.
Does that help?
Weaseldog @ 95:
Try Gen. Patton.
ysbaddaden @ 94:
It worked for you because you have the cookie from actually visiting the site where it came from. It's not cool to hotlink to pictures/videos etc and some sites block people from doing so just like that.
"It would have been funnier if he had actually allowed her to speak instead of having her on the show just to look pretty and clueless." - cristalyn @ 53:
I went out with them a few times!! Had a GREAT TIME!
ysbaddaden @ 94:
Ahh nice segue way into Halloween :)
ysbaddaden @ 96:
Think RUSH LIMBAUGH!! LOL!
Hot links, cookies?
Great, now I'm getting hungry.
Liberal AND Proud @ 100:
Wouldn't work, he'd be eating the whip creamm.
Liberal AND Proud @ 100:
I got you all beat.
Dennis Hastert
Kudos to Elizabeth Kucinich for being a good sport. She knew what she was getting herself into, and she did quite well with it.
Are ya bein' facetious?
Nearly every TDS "correspondent" since Stewart took over the show has been obnoxious. The show is satire- but it's not a satire of news topics, but of news presentation. Seein' that most "straight" reportage and interviewin' is driven by the egos of the reporters and interviewers, to satirize these programs the TDS "correspondents" must portray the "straight" journalists idiosyncracies in an OTT manner. Jones is no different than Colbert, Carrell or Courdry in his caricature of a journalist.
Rep. Squeezy McFeelpants @ 50:
Evil. I just spit my iced tea on my keyboard. ;)
justabill @ 103:
Duke Cunningham in a thong ............
Was it sexist when Colbert asked Phil Gingrey if he could give him a Van Dyke?
tyler82 @ 88:
My post @ 105 was directed towards you.
i am so ready for her husband to be president.
Weaseldog @ 87:
Feminism means different things to different people. I think at the heart of it we want you to think we are beautiful AND smart. We want to be given respect as intelligent creatures with as much intelligence as men. That does not mean that you can't drool over our sexy bodies. We drool over yours too sometimes. Just remember that we are opinionated, smart, creative, and we want to be heard just as much as you do and we matter just as much as you do.
With limpballs and hastert whipped cream ain't gonna cut it, we'll need Major Gray Chutney.
cristalyn @ 111:
That is essentially my wife's definition. God Bless Her.
MCMetal @ 107:
Larry Craig in leather chaps?
ysbaddaden @ 112:
No, no, no, no and NO!
Let those guys wear Mrs. Nixon's cloth coat. Strike that...MAKE THEM wear Mrs. Nixon's cloth coat. Please!
ysbaddaden @ 114:
Stop or I'll say Janet Reno!
Hillary in a thong?
Think Pat Boone instead.
Does that help?
Try Gen. Patton.
Think RUSH LIMBAUGH!! LOL!
I got you all beat.
Dennis Hastert
How about Bill-O?
Honestly people, lighten up! TDS is satirizing what the media is doing already! Every time she appears at a debate the cameras are all over her. They ignore Kucinich's admirable platform and focus on either his short stature or her beauty. This joking takes away nothing from her all round potential super-first lady powers and formidable curriculum vitae.
Andy K @ 105:
Exactly, and nothing Jason Jones said was as bad as Scarborough asking if Fred Thompson's wife "works the pole"
Margaret @ 12:
I thought it was GREAT!
I get what Jason Jones was trying to do. He was trying to pull a self deprecating, "Look how clueless and stereotypical I am ha, ha", act a la Stephen Colbert. I just didn't find it funny. After some of the comments on this blog though..."I'd eat the corn out of her crap..."...WTF is that? I have to say that there are definitely people around much less adult than Jason Jones.
Greg @ 34:
Exactly.
Rusty Shackleford @ 18:
There isn't a section 5 of Article 2 of the US Constitution.
Man, what a buch of bullshit comments...(with a few exceptions)....it's COMEDY people....love it, hate it, whatever.....but it is not some huge statement on interview correctness, politeness, feminism, or the status of liberal thought....everyone take a joint out of petty cash and chill the fuck out. How pitiful.
trez @ 118:
Uhm, I think those of us who decide to take the fork in the road that started with Pat Nixon and ran through Hastert and Bill-O (and inspired by the Loenzo Lamas bit in the clip) are kinda aware of that.
I have a lot of respect fer Mrs. K. I know about her work in India and Tanzania. But this FLILF stuff is funny, no matter who got interviewed by Jones. Roll with it.
Andy K @ 105:
raymond @ 124:
What is wrong with this clip opening up discussion about such things? If he is satirizing how uncouth the media is concerning these attractive ladies then this clip should open up such conversations.
I think that there are people here who laugh at anything that happens to be on The Daily Show just because it is on the Daily Show. Just sayin.....
Margaret @ 121:
Have you ever been on a bland diet for weeks then suddenly been confronted with a two layer strawberry cream cheese cake, sprinkled with a graham crust and smothered in warm chocolate?
That's kind of what the Laura Bush to Elizabeth Kucinich transition feels like.
Some men have mastered the art of keeping their lips pursed together, until they can speak in complete sentences.
Haven't mastered....
Andy K @ 125:
I wasn't addressing you but the humor challenged naysayers.
ysbaddaden @ 126:
Andy K @ 132:
Weaseldog @ 129:
But "I'd eat the corn out of her crap" Please.
PLEASE STOP!! I can't handle another "Limbaugh - Hastert - Duke Cunningham" image! The horror! The horror!
Margaret @ 134:
It is a popular phrase in Oklahoma.
Margaret @ 121:
There's definitely a difference between not getting something and not finding it funny. A few weeks ago there was a lot of derisive laughter at the new logo for the GOP convention. Conceptually, I saw what people were laughing at, but none of it struck me as funny. I checked with friends and they saw it right away. So clearly my funny bone is wired differently than other people's.
Yeah, there are different, uh, flavors of male bonding and that wasn't my personal preferred style, but as long as it didn't set the tone for the entire thread I didn't mind so much. (Yes, I realize it isn't just males here, I'm just saying.)
ysbaddaden @ 117:
Mannequins usually don't have underwear on. It's just the pants suits hugging the reinforced composite plastic material.
Ben @ 123:
Heh heh heh
Weaseldog @ 136:
But "I'd eat the corn out of her crap" Please.
It is a popular phrase in Oklahoma.
I'd say it's a popular phrase all across the country, depending on how young you are, but not often uttered within earshot of a female. The younger the more likely you've heard it. From when I bartended I'd say I've heard it or some version thereof at least 3,000 times from 3,000 different people.
Mrs. Kucinich is a beauty. And she is smart as a tack.
Margaret @ 128:
Look, I can accept that people might not think it's funny. Everyone has their own sense of humor...
What I don't get is how someone can think that this is soooo sexist below the surface as it is above. Do ya think that an intelligent young woman like Elizabeth Kucinich was duped into this type of interview? I don't. I think she knew all along what this bit was about (the male sex drive, in all its sophmoric glory) and played along wilfully. Like her husband did a few weeks ago, when he emptied his pockets fer Steven Colbert.
wow, im amazed at the majority of the comments on this one. you guys (and girls - for you "feminists") act like you've never seen the daily show. you do realize that it most often mocks main stream media and political figures right? well, what the hell do you think jason jones was doing in that piece? he was mocking the immature, sexist, distractory behaviour that has been exhibited by the media and political figures reguarding attractive wives of presidential candidates. if you don't like his behaviour, direct your anger at the main stream media and political figures because thats exactly what jones was doing with that piece only he used humor. whodathunkin - a comedy show using comedy to express itself reguarding irrational behaviour in the news/political world.
Andy K @ 142:
Oh, she definitely knew what she was getting herself into, and she did remarkably well with it. She sure as hell didn't hurt her husband's campaign one bit. I'd say she helped it a lot with TDS' demographic (you know, the ones who thought this bit was hillarious), and THAT is what it's all about from her perspective. Props to her for being such a good sport.
So you want acronyms? How about this one: IED.
Sorry for the downer. HA-HA.
At the risk of bein' accused of trollin'- because, yes, I'm a naughty boy- anyone catch a glance of Mrs. Ron Paul yet? I've heard there's a photo-spread in Hustler's Barely Republican Magazine (The only magazine dedicated to depictin' the women of local militias and the John Birch Society in their naked entirety), but I haven't picked up the latest copy yet.
ysbaddaden @ 117:
Barbara Bush in a thong ...........
Margaret @ 128:
Could be. Why not just ignore those people?
justabill @ 144:
I think the bit's hilarious. It doesn't mean I'm gonna take 5 to rub one out while visions of Elizabeth Kucinich give me some imaginary lap dance.
The bit isn't funny, imo, because it makes me have visions like that- I don't- but because some notions (such as First Ladies) and other notions (like a sub-genre of the porography industry) are so ironically mis-matched that I chuckle when they're paired.
IM READY FOR A FLILF!!!!!!!
