On Wed when Kathleen Willey went on H&C to promote her new Hillary bashing book I'm sure she expected to be treated with the same kid gloves by the pliant media she had been accustomed to, and for his part Sean Hannity played that role as well as ever, but that all ended when it was Alan Colmes' turn. He had clearly done his homework and came armed with Linda Tripp's sworn grand jury testimony that directly contradicted her claims. He then put up Independent Counsel Robert Ray's report that "Willey's Jones deposition testimony differed from her grand jury testimony on material aspects of the alleged incident"(p.7 pdf) and pointed out the fact that she had been caught giving "false information to the FBI about her sexual relationship with a former boyfriend."

This is the same woman who has made allegations that the Clintons had her husband killed, had her cat killed and left its skull on her porch, had her tires slashed, and more recently she claimed they had her home broken into and stole the manuscript to this tall tell-all (no, I won't link to any of that, but it's out there). I'd like to think that after this disaster of a book interview she would finally seek the professional help she desperately needs, but I won't hold my breath. Unfortunately you can bet that lots and lots more of this is what we have to look forward to if Hillary is the nominee.

Fox will give airtime to anyone willing to parrot John Birch Society conspiracies about the Clintons. Willey was on downers

Colmes is good when he is on. Unfortunately, H&C is really a vehicle for Hannity, not Colmes.

In other words, she's just another typical screeching reich-winger who blames the Clintons for everything.

This is exactly why I don't want Hillary to win the nomination. The right wingers will continue on with this kind of rhetoric and nullify our democracy.

The program is Hannitized for the viewer's protection :) Little cribbing from Al Franken.

How dare she accuse George H.W. Bush's (aka "Facist Pappa Bush") illegimate son, Bill Clinton of anything that might be considered dubious behaviour!!

QT link seems broken

Colmes was still a complete wimp. He should have just come straight out and called her a lunatic and asked for proof of her allegations about her husband, cat, and manuscript.

This is exactly why I don’t want Hillary to win the nomination.

But then they've won, haven't they? In some ways I hope she does win the nomination just to prove all this nonsense false once and for all.

so another repude doesn't let the facts get in the way of her spew. you have to admit that at least they are consistent. ignorant as ever but consistent.

Dr Matt @ 3, wait till you get to chapter 7 of her book. The Clintons clogged Willey's shower drain, made her kitchen knives go dull and and put eggs in her frigerater that were past their "use by" date.

I guess I have to put Kathleen Willey in the same category as Paula Jones, regarding Bill Clinton.

I won't downplay the importance of coming forward with rape allegations because more often than not, the true victims of rape get their allegations more compromised because of "women scorned" like Kathleen Willey and Paula Jones. The real victims don't get taken as seriously as they should because these women are playing foul with their own allegations, because Richard Mellon Sciafe has such a hard-on for the Clintons, he's willing to bankrupt himself if it means their total destruction. Therefore, he pays women like Willey and Jones to come forward with such allegations against the Clintons.

Spare me that Paula Jones got paid - so did her ex-husband after he divorced her. I think Clinton paid her off because he wanted the whole mess to go AWAY.

It's really no one's business but Hillary's if Bill can't keep it in his pants. Everytime I hear of someone alleging anything against the Clintons, it reminds me that Congress and Ken Starr spent $70 million dollars of our tax dollars to impeach a sitting, popular President for lying about a blow job; while we have a certifiable SOB who needs to be impeached for high crimes and misdemenors, and Nancy Pelosi's first act as House Speaker was to "take impeachment off the table."

Willey shouldn't worry - I'm sure Regnery and the ReThugs will buy up her books in bulk and give them out as Christmas presents to the Young Republicans and other ReThug organizations.

This is a republic not a democracy. Futhermore bush is not a facist, it oh k for clobert and gang to go after bush, but god please some goes after hillary it is wrong... The logic of the left..

Colmes is just there so Faux News can pretend they present both sides to every story.

Alan always checks his balls at the door before entering the studio. You're right, this is really Hannity's program.

if Bill gets off in the WH he gets impeached, but Bush can lie the entire country into war and that's just peachy. Get lost.

I bought the book, just because of chapter 11!

this is nothing compared to bill's assault of jaunita broderick. talk about a sociopath. granted fox is the war network,.... the clintons are mafia and much more will come out before hillary is annointed king..oops.. i mean queen of the american union.

Your completely unintelligible rant aside, do you realize that clobert [sic] is a comedy show while faux advertises itself as a "news" outlet? Do you know the difference? I agree that most Americans believe faux is indeed a joke, but your analogy is really quite obtuse.

Swiftboat Bimbos for justice?

Fox always tries to give credibility to proven liars.

Sorry, folks, but Colmes didn't "rip" her; he did his usual mealy-mouthed routine, without pressing her on her other wild allegations.

BTW, for those of you who aren't aware, Hannity was hired by Faux because he's a belligerent asshole, and was given the opportunity to pick his counterpart. Hence, we have a wimpy, not-terribly-photogenic Colmes who isn't a fighter for liberal values.

Fair and balanced my ass!

She obviously hates Clinton and she's clearly delusional....Get her a job at FAUX "News"! I know! She can replace Colmes....

Spiteful Republican women tranquilized to the point of coma - sexually-repressed Republican men on the Downlow. How on earth do they manage to reproduce themselves?

All politicians are fair game. The problem is that if you really watch FOX and listen to Hannity and those like him, you will see that in some way all negatives fall back on Clinton. If we get into a recession, it bebecause Clinton's economic policies. If the U.S. was attacked again soon, it's somehow Clinton's fault. Also, Willey's facts are flimsy or just false and FOX is giving voice to her assertions and lies. That is NOT Journalism, it's punditry and character assasination. Colbert is a comedian, like Limbaugh - not someone claiming to be a journalist.

Skank Willey's a lying slag.
Yeah yeah, no one really cares besides the repukes in love with the clenis fantasy of 1999.

Of course! Colmes himself has said that he is a "moderate" and not a liberal by any means. These days, "moderate" means somewhat to the right of Ronald Reagan so go from there.

Alan Colmes indeed did his homework, and displays the class and professionalism so lacking in his colleague, Sean Hannity. He doesn't need to bully, sceam and holler. He comes across as prepared, respectful and lets her own words smash her glass house. I say, well done, Alan.

The real predator here is this coy, dishonest, lying, shriveled up mess of a woman.

Precisely why I don't want Hilary to being the candidate. It will be distraction city all over again. The press will be obsessed about what and who Bill is doing. Hilary is NOT so much better a candidate than all the rest that we can't afford to not have her be the nominee. It's time for the blogs to get organized against her nomination.

Can't stand Hillary, will never vote for her, but this leftover vast right wing conspiracy bullshit is ridiculous. La Clinton is a lot more powerful than she was 10 years ago, and I'm sure that the forces of EEE-vil reckoned without that when they started dragging the same lame, tired canards out of the rightwingnut closet.

Do you honestly believe that anybody that the Democrats nominate aren't going to be similarly attacked? Don't delude yourselves. They would attack Gandhi as "weak on defense", they would attack Mother Teresa as "too Catholic", they would smear Einstein as an "east coast intellectual", they would swiftboat Jesus fucking Christ as a hippie. I don't like sHillary very much either but she is probably going to be the nominee and due primarily to the age of the only two remaining liberals on SCOTUS, we had better damned well work hard to elect whatever Democrat gets the nomination. This is why it's so INCREDIBLY stupid to consider running Hillary Clinton, particularly right now. After a near-decade of the intensely divisive Bush, is it really a good idea to run the most divisive candidate in our arsenal? The only people she'll unify are Republicans - and only because they hate her passionately and there's nothing they won't do to stop her. So let's recap: Republicans hate her with a passion usually reserved for Muslims and homosexuals, and most Democrats, at best, tolerate her as being superior to what we've got now. In what fucking universe does this seem like the most viable course of action? Divide ourselves, unify our opponents? Absolutely fucking insane.

(IF) Senator Clinton were to win the nomination, these sort of Repug Clinton hate tactics will most certainly backfire on the Repugs.

The Clinton's actually did her a favor with their last burglary. Seems she had been prepared to submit the manuscript as-is, but decided to re-read it in order to see if it had been tampered with. Realizing her original account (of having awoke screaming at finding herself covered in blood from the cat's head at the foot of her bed) might be challenged, she changed the story and placed the poor critter on the porch.

Taken word for word from GOP talking points and right wing media "wisdom". I'll bet you're "very serious".....

This post and the one about Inhofe shows why the Republicans do so well feeding their knuckledragging brownshirted base. The Whitewater-Monica-Blue Dress- etc etc etc crap still sells with people who think Chappaquiddick happened yesterday. And nothing works better than a sense of aggrieved justice when you're asking for support from people who make death threats with their morning coffee. Truth, shmooth. They're fascists at heart, and they'll always believe that whoever yells the loudest, wins. Hillary's election wouldm't shut these guys up-- just the opposite. (It's not why I wouldn't vote for her, but it doesn't make me more inclined to support her either.)

"Unfortunately you can bet that lots and lots more of this is what we have to look forward to if Hillary is the nominee."

Yep. So why is anyone supporting her? Explain it to me like I'm a four year old.

Ricky,

The rightwing media smear and fear machine came to power in the 90's. They built their content and brands primarily on sliming the Clintons, making shit up, spreading lies, rumor and innuendo. To a large extent they have been discredited and exposed for being the horrible human beings and organizations that they are. Simply put it will be EXACTLY the same if the Clintons return to the White House. The rightwing media machine will be invigorated. They are like a washed up, lazy singer who's spent the last 7 years in a binge of drinking, throwing money around, popping pills and hooking up with underage prostitutes.

Why on earth would you want to give the radio stations a reason to play that greatest hit all over again?

Look, I think sHillary is a corporatist, first last and always. Can anybody who likes to repeat the GOP attack points on her name one viable alternative? Let's stay grounded in reality, shall we? I don't mean a spoiler run by Nader or a fantasy about a third party. Personally O believe that a viable third party is this country's best hope at salvation but is it going to happen between now and next November? Probably not. I am supporting Kucinich but if I have to hold my nose and vote for sHillary, I will. So, tell me...which Republican would you prefer to sHillary Clinton? It's a fair question.

I hope Hillary doesn't win the nomination because she is the worst of the Dem candidates. She's basically Bush Light, and like another product of the same pronunciation, if you swallow enough of it in a short period of time you feel pretty good. But you wake up the next morning with a deep sense of regret wondering what on earth you just did.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if some of her claims were true. Every Presidency will do anything and everything to protect itself from the proof of corruptibility. We've seen this with Bush 1 and 2, Nixon, Kennedy, LBJ, and more. The Clinton family is no exception, nor should they be given a free pass. She may be slightly crazy and some of her claims make her sound like sh fell off the turnip truck, but I wouldn't discount her claims out of blind love for the Clinton family. I love Bill as much as the next democrat, but the family is just as nefarious as the average Presidential family has always been and needs to be.

Once you taste the Clenis, thats it.

werenotgonnatakeit @ 62:

Why on earth would you want to give the radio stations a reason to play that greatest hit all over again?

Because the choice may well be between:
a) Someone the mainstream media hates, but may ultimately do something productive and constructive while in office, and
b) Someone the media loves, and uses that power to continue running this country into the ground.

Given those choices, I'll take (a) every time, because we've been living with (b) for the last seven years. Even though Sen. Clinton is not my preferred candidate, and she will not be receiving my vote in the Primary (and yes, I'm registered with Democratic Party), if she is the Democratic nominee I will be voting for her in the General election.

Because looking at the Republican candidates, she may not be the best this country has to offer, but she'd certainly be the best available candidate. While I despise the fact that this country's elections follow a "lesser of n evils" model, that's the country that we've built for ourselves over the last 231 years.

Margaret @ 69:

I hope that she doesn't win the nomination either but we have to prepare for that eventuality. Swiftboating her ourselves will get us another repug and judging by what I've seen, Clinton is still way better than the best republican that's running.

I wish I could believe that, but I was taken by Joe Wilson's description, saying we're no longer a Republic but an Empire. Check out Cullen Murphy's book "Are We Rome," for a supportive view and a description of how Rome changed from Republic to Empire. Unless we -- the people -- can rein in the sob's of both Parties who have succumbed to the lure of kicking butt and asserting power internationally, and who have determined that individual rights and freedom just get in the way of good government, we're going to become "subjects" instead of "citizens".

This woman is sick and a liar. I've no doubt of it. But that doesn't mean that her target -- Hillary -- is going to be able to bring the US back to where it once belonged. Nor does it mean she would do so even if she could. John Stewart said, only partly facetiously, that the power grabs this current Executive has successfully made will, ironically, make Hillary the most powerful president ever. It's possible that we're going to have to change that word "president" to "ruler" -- but I hope I'm wrong.

Republicans are paying Willey to conduct a smear campaign against the Clintons. Her job is throw as much feces against the wall as she can muster. For the Republican operative, it makes absolutely no difference if the allegations are true or not. The prime objective is to disseminate as many negative Clinton rumors as possible. Kathleen Willey is a useful idiot.

While it would be fun to have the Clinton's back in the WH, I personally think HRC would make a terrible Presidentette. She's too much of a centrist for my taste. I want a real progressive lefty in there ready, willing and able to reverse the damage done by BushWorld. Of course, unless we also win super majorites in both the House and Senate any Dem Prez will be unable to accomplish anything.

I love the analogy. Hannity is the Harlem Globetrotters. Colmes is the Washington Generals. Alan Colmes was hired by the Fox network to get punked by Hannity on a nightly basis. Colmes does a nice job playing that role.

Fox news didn't block it. I figured they would have had "technical problems".

I guess for once Colmes got was able to get a word of his own in.

The right wing smear machine and repubs will smear any Democratic candidate who's nominated, not just Hillary Clinton. Remember Al Gore couldn't tell the truth, he said he invented the Internet. They made Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore seem like he had problems with truthfulness. He was elected anyway, but they managed to wrest away the presidency from him with a little help from the Supreme Court. Then there was the Swiftboating of war hero, John Kerry. They smeared war heroes Max Cleland and John McCain. It won't matter who is nominated. At least Hillary has experience with them.

Here' the thing about Clinton, he never put himself out there saying he was a saint. He never ran on family values. In fact most of us already Knew that he liked to chase women, although he was married.

So why does the rightwing act as if any of this stuff is new? They're the ones who are always talking about God, family and morals. That's why when sex scandals happen to them their base is shocked. Especially when it's a gay scandal.

Kathleen Willey is a MILF

Umm...spellcheck PLEASE!
Yes it is a republic. And listen here ya flamin bushite...we've been listening to you rightwingers attack not just Hillary, but EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT DOESN'T FALL IN LOCKSTEP WITH THAT IDIOT BUSH. We're tired of makin nice. The gloves are comin off kid, and now that your "president", your party, and your sycophantic media talkin heads have been givin a bloody nose, and a kick in the nuts, your callin time out?! FUCK YOU!
You repubs are runnin scared...and I say it's about damn time! PAYBACKS A BITCH AIN'T IT?

Soon after Clinton won the presidency I was reading newspaper articles about people having sex dreams of Bill and Hillary.

Soft news, I'm not sure how you can prove it.

But that combined with voided ambition can becloud memory.

And the fact that Bubba was a sexual critter, voters who shook his hand said they felt like for a few seconds that they were the center of his attention, and John Travolta said Bill was the most seductive man he ever met seemed to work against him.

[Deleted. Don't post in all caps]

That poor woman...she just wants a hit from the man of her dreams, Bill CLinton.

The Sea Hawk @ 65:

The real story here is that Colmes was (1) prepared for an interview, and (2) showed his teeth and actually used them. My goodness.

Why can't I get on a national talk show talking about how Prescott Bush stole Geronimo's skull and used it as a drinking gourd at Skull and Bones ceremonies, where it is still used today? It's more believable, frankly.

Colmes showed that he has at least one ball which is more than can be said for the DUMBocrats in Congress.

margaret @ 37,

Actually the official name of N. Korea is The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, but that's beside the point. We are the United States of America. United is probably the key word, though i fail to see it having any meaning these days. The only thing that unites us our loathing for each other...other being anyone who doesn't agree with us. maybe we should change the name to the Tribal States of America. Our political process is nothing more than tribalism, and that goes for both sides.

I've never voted for a Republican, and i don't plan to so long as they refuse to remove their heads from their asses and they continue to insist that i should bend over for an anatomical insertion of their choosing into my ass. On the other hand, i wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton with a gun to my head. She scares the living shit out of me...clearing the way for Republican comings and goings in the area.

I understand that we all look back on the 90's as halcyon days, and in many ways they were...but that does not make them Mr. Clinton's fault. The world is more complicated than presidential elections. I do not get the impression that Mrs. Clinton has our best interests at heart; i do get the impression that she is a political animal, and the last thing this country needs is more politics. Remember, she has publicly stated that she'd consider nuking Iran. (at an AIPAC conference where she said that 'all options are on the table') That doesn't sound very progressive to me, more like Dick Cheney in a pants-suit.

.....and so the Willey bitch lied, she lied, Kathleen it sounds like you were running after anything that had a set of balls, shame on you Kathleen, shame on you. JUST SAY NO!!! JUST SAY NO!!! Say no more to lies, say no more to sex with younger men, say no more to hording cats, JUST SAY NO KATHLEEN, JUST SAY NO!!!! The truth will set you free.......

How, C&L, I'm stunned. Ripped her to shreds? And most people here seem to agree? Really?

I have to echo Matt in Texas -- this was typical Insanity & Coma, with Alan as his usual, ineffective self.

First, this woman is making all sorts of claims about Hillary Clinton. Coma should be going after those lies. Instead, he tries to discredit her on various other matters, apparently sidestepping the Clinton allegations altogether (at least in this clip). What a waste of time.

But hey, it'd be one thing if he managed to destroy her credibility with that line of cross examination. Unfortunately, he doesn't do a very good job with what he calls her on:

Coma: Kathleen, in the book as well, which we're talking about here tonight, first of all, thank you for coming on the show.

Willey: Thanks for having me.

Coma: Uh, and thank you for mentioning me in the Q&A we had--

Willey: You're welcome.

Coma: --on the book as well. But the-- What you just talked about as having happened in the oval office, as you know, Linda Tripp is not exactly on my side of the equation here, talked about in sworn testimony that you were flirting with the president, she talked about you wearing a particular dress, dressing a certain way to attract his attention. She said after the meeting, you rushed back to her office to describe the meeting, that you were smiling from ear to ear, that night you talked to Linda Tripp on the phone, you talked about his schedule, where he was going to be, and you talked about, she says, about whether you would become the girl friend of the president.

Seriously, Alan, this really helps? Bringing up Linda Tripp's accusations? Just because Linda Tripp isn't a liberal? I suppose the implication is that Willey has a motive to lie about the Hillary because Bill didn't return Willey's attraction? Is that it?

Willey: No. No.

Coma: That was Linda Tripp, and what she--

Willey: No, no, no, no.

Coma: --has said.

Willey: That did not happen. That--

Coma: Why would Linda Tripp be saying all this?

Willey: Linda Tripp since has vindicated me, in, in, in an interview with Larry King.

Uh oh. Did Coma research everything?

Coma: She said this-- this is what she said in sworn testimony.

Willey: Well, she since has vindicated me. She said she misread the situation; she was wrong. Larry King asked her a direct, a direct question: "Do you think Kathleen is an honest woman?" She said, "Yes, I do."

Pretty direct answer. Tripp has refuted her own testimony. Anyone surprised that Linda Tripp might have contradicted herself? And even if Willey is lying right now, how has Coma "ripped her to shreds?"

Coma: Well, I'm just telling you what she said in sworn testimony, under oath.

Willey: I know what she said. I know what she said. I was there.

Coma: Uh...

Good job, Alan. Way to nail her to the wall.

Willey: I saw her, I talked to her, I told her what happened. I befriended her.

Switching topics now. Round one to Willey.

Coma: You mention the subpoena-- you being subpoenaed after all this. Now let me put up on the screen what Robert Ray said, and, uh, having investigated the situation in the independent counsel: He said, Willey's testimony to the Grand Jury about the alleged incident differed materially from your deposition testimony given in Jones versus Clinton. You said at your deposition that Clinton did not fondle you. The final report of the independent counsel in Madison Guarantee Savings and Loan, regarding Monica Lewinsky and others, uh, that there was a difference in the things you said, in those two different appearances. Why would Robert Ray say that?

Why would you ask a question like that, Alan? Your making Willey's incredibility dependent on someone else's credibility. All she has to do is impeach that someone else -- even if she's lying. You have to be ready for that. It's the obvious answer.

Willey: Robert Ray had an agenda.

Gee, who didn't see that coming?

Coma: He did?

Willey: Yes. He wanted to run for Senate from New Jersey when this was over. He thought, you know, he need political--

Coma: He wasn't a liberal. He wasn't a Democrat---[cross talk]

Ok, ok, a little fighting back here, can Alan keep it going?

Willey: I know he wasn't. [cross talk] He also got arrested for stalking a woman too not many years ago---

Coma: What does that have anything to do with this?

Willey: Well, I don't know, given---

Coma: I don't have anything about his arrest for stalking a woman---

Oh, Alan! God damn it! You actually interrupted her on the one question where you had caught her not knowing what to say! Why did you do that?! Why didn't you let her answer that question? What DOES the accusation have to do with anything?

Willey: I do. I do.

Follow up, Alan! She's got the evidence of this? Ask her for it?.......Nah. Switch topics. Round two, ehh, a draw.

Coma: He also said, let me put this, Willey gave false information to the FBI about her sexual relationship with a former boyfriend, and acknowledged having lied about it when the agents confronted her with contradictory evidence. You actually talk about this in the book.

Well, if she talks about it in her book, Alan, you know what she's gonna say, right? She's already copped to this one, right? How's this going to help your case?

Willey: I do.

Coma: And you admit that you told untruths about a former boyfriend.

Willey: I had a romantic relationship with a man younger than I. He pursued me. It was not long after my husband's death. Uh, I didn't handle it well. I didn't-- it ended badly, I didn't handle it well, I did something that was wrong, and I admitted it. I am embarrassed by what I did. That doesn't say that I lied under oath in the grand jury. I was shocked by the question from the FBI, I had-- I had been, uh, questioned for seventy-five to a hundred hours, and it got real personal, and it got to that point, and they asked me the question, and I was not truthful about it.

Coma: All right, we're going to pick it up right......

Yeah, that one didn't go over too well, did it Alan? She didn't come off as generally untruthful. She came off as human. She lied in a particular circumstance, and isn't proud of it. How has this helped wreck her credibility on Hillary Clinton? Round three to Willey.

Insanity & Coma is the perfect venue for this woman. Coma played his part. Wimpy liberal who can't prove his points.

Ripped her to shreds? Please.

Repubs remind me of the characters in Idiocracy ... they all have the same imbecilic reasoning .. as when in the film the protagonist wants a drink of water, everyone laughs at him, saying "you want what comes out of the toilet?!?!" (because they all drink sports drinks only)

Another Victim of Bubba @ 91:

That poor woman. I know how it is to be victimized by Clinton.

Clinton used the last of my toilet paper and didn't put in a new roll. Clinton was outside my window last night pretending to be a barking dog, keeping me up all night. Clinton made me get fat. Clinton lost my car keys!

The Clintons are responsible for the heartbreak of psoriasis. Bill is personally responsible for the big sinkhole at the end of my street. Why, oh why do the Clintons hate Americans?

If we would be foolish enough to vote for Senator Clinton in the primary, this is the shit they would promote all through the election process against the republican opponent.

This is one of the reasons why they want Hillary in the first place folks. They continue to give us these bogus polls that give this woman these fabricated poll numbers that even she blushes about. She knows that most of us with common sense, understands the games she and Rupert Murdock and this right wing media are playing with our election process and if she were to somehow pull a George Bush and get into the system, she would pull the same shit he is pulling.

The election would not be about policies and issues that concern the American people because none of the republicans can stand up to any kind of policies that concern American people so they would make this election into a complete night mare to change the subject and you have to know and understand this.

We need to continue as we are doing to let her and the right wing gang of thugs that finance her campaign know that we are not the same fools that we unknowingly elected to the democratic party. There are many of us that cannot be screwed with like that and we intend to call them out on any and every policy we see (and we see a lot more then they think we do).

PS: This notice is for the XM Radio gang and all the other liberal media that carry the false News Coverage that we get from CNN, Fox News and all the other so call news stations. I don't buy any of the bull shit they sell us either. I know when I am being lied to. I say this because I know they read this blogg site so get some truthful news on these stations or screw off.

My point above is that no one, not even Hillary Clinton, should be deterred from running for office under the pressure of opponents who spread vicious lies make personal attacks. If you give them that, well you've just handed them the entire political process.

Alan is finally learning from Hannity. Treat your guests like criminal defendants, and cross examine them until they crack. Good one, Alan!

Wow! A so-called journalist doing their job for once, researching the issues, asking questions, looking at all facets! It's something rarely seen in the MSM. And, to have Colmes doing it! Amazing! Wouldn't it be nice if we saw this kind of investigative reporting/interviewing on all the networks and pundit shows?

Over the top accusations like these might end up backfire on the right. (I hope)

I am astonished at how many people are worried about Hillary getting the nomination because she is the one that can be most successfully attacked in the general election. How about being worried about her getting the nomination because she is a pure political animal, lying little piece of shit (see last debate) that would be little better than Bush once in office.

Margaret is exactly right on this. The Republicans will Swift Boat anyone. Anyone.

We could raise Gen. Patton from the dead, and run him as a Democrat, and they'd say he was anti-American. They're very good at it. In fact, it seems that it's the only thing they're good at.

You are giving more credence to 1) something Willey claims Linda Tripp said on Larry King over her sworn grand jury testimony?

Score a big one for Alan Colmes

2) You really think the Republican Independent Council's official ruling discrediting Willey's testimony on a number of counts was countered by the claim that years later he was charged for stalking a girlfriend (which is true btw, he was charged but not convicted)?

Score a second big one for Alan Colmes.

3) Are you saying that Colmes shouldn't have mentioned that she lied to the FBI in her book, which is also in the Independent council's final report just because she admitted to it in her book, and he even had read the book and pointed out she had admitted as much before she could answer, and did you really think her excuse about the younger boyfriend helped her at all?

Score a third big one for Colmes.

What planet are you from?

Alan Colmes destroyed her on all counts.

All the shame the GOP during the last seven years has heaped upon our nation, its former reputation and ALL OF US citizens.. Actually, if you read the linked report: "Investigation of Allegations Made by Kathleen E. Willey" (pdf) from the Independent Council investigation into Clinton you'll notice that Starr offered her immunity from prosecution for her lying to the FBI if she would testify against Clinton. Starr tried to basically frame her into making these allegations after he found out she had been cozy or at least attempting to be cozy with the Clenis. Only in every instance after offering her immunity they couldn't get Willey to ever tell the same story twice, so they weren't able to use her in the case against clinton.

Hillary kept me chained in the basement of the Arkansas Governor's mansion for months and sodomized me repeatedly with a 14" dildo while Bill watched!

There were animals and OMG! It was horrible! The things I was forced to do!

Actually I have never been within miles of the lady, don't know if the Arkansas mansion has a basement and am admitting right here that it is a complete falsehood.

That ain't gonna stop me from getting lots of facetime on the networks and selling bunches of books to wingnuts tho. Once I refine my story a bit, I expect to live quite comfortably for at least the next year - and if Hillary is elected, JACKPOT!

I would never do that in reality - but I am almost tempted, just so I could call a news conference and expose myself as a hoaxter after the right wing bit. Of course, they would then just claim that I was bought off.

Hillary is going to win the primaries, the nomination, and the Oval Office. She's going to get everyone in C&L riled up and ticked off because she's neither a Progressive nor a Liberal. She's going to send more troops to Iraq. And she isn't going to solve the health care problem -- again. But we're still going to be 1,000% better off with her than we are now because:

She's going to roll back the tax cuts that have let the wealthiest in this country ride virtually free for the last several years
She's going to take the Health Insurance industry out behind the barn and make them act a little less like scumbags
She's going to give FEMA back it's spine and its competence
She's not going to invade Iran and will negotiate with Tehran (and continue talking to Pyongyang)
She's going to implement some sensible -- if harsh in some places -- fiscally responsible tax policies and spending policies
She's going to attack the National Debt and begin working towards another surplus that will help bring it down
She's going to dismantle the Mercenary apparatus that has made the Prince of Blackwater a wealthy man
She's going to make sure that the US really doesn't torture
She's going to dismantle the Evangelical machinery that has made a mockery of US Planned Parenthood since the Fool from Crawford stole the 2000 election
She's going to promise to fund programs -- and actually fund them -- or she won't b.s. us about it.
She's going to make EPA actually work for the environment and for the American people (but she won't take strong enough action fast enough to please most of us -- and may even have Al Gore on her case about her unwillingness to move forward quickly enough -- but she will be doing thing that favor the environment, unlike the current White House of environmental rapists and pillagers)

Still, the things she doesn't do are going to piss us off and we'll grumble and grouse until the 2012 election when the Republicans put up another Enemy of the Planet and its People. Hillary isn't perfect -- far from it. But the other side is so very bad, so very incapable of understanding what the Country needs and what we, the citizenry want, that we will vote for her once again.

Oh, and Foxes moronic poseurs, like Hannity and O'Reilly, will have a ball attacking her biliously, to the delight of their diminishing audiences.
