Our buddies Jackie and Dunlap have the secret audio of the historic moment in the ABC/Facebook debate last night in New Hampshire when moderator Charlie Gibson brought both the Republican and Democratic candidates together on stage.

plain annoying. Are americans that dumb?

Who ever did Obama's voice was very very good.

Most of the time I just find those guys stupid and annoying, but I have to admit that was pretty funny.. The hillary laugh, and Rudy going 911 911.. was the best part imo... Nice to see even some on the right find Rudy pathetic..

What was it Letterman said about the writers settling, if only Bush stays on 4 more years?
.
Maybe they'll settle if the election lasts another few years - a never-ending supply of material....

"Are you my friend?"
"Goddammit Bill for fuck's sake!"

Hahah! Most of that was stupid as hell but that last line was funny.

I don't see how anyone with wit and an IQ above room temperature can't appreciate Jackie and Dunlap. Their sense of irony and their comedic timing rivals Jon Stewart on one of his good days.

Of course, I guess there is no accounting for snobbery.

That Hillary laugh was dead on was creepily dead on.

I always thought Richardson looked familiar and it just dawned on me, slap a wig on him and you got Liz Taylor.

Roket's picture

You need to post a spew alert for that video. I almost passed out.

EOK2006's picture

that was actually really funny. not normally a fan of those guys, but good stuff..

and um, the laugh was dead on because it sounded like a recording of her actual laugh from interviews recent if I'm not mistaken

I wouldn't call Jackie and Dunlap @ Red State Update 'some on the right' any more than I would Jesus' General JC Christian, Patriot, for the same reason.

Huckabee, Obama Win In Iowa
Jackie and Dunlap give you their take:

Clearly Huckabee's win and surge in the polls is due to Dunlap's great new campaign slogan:

That was brilliant.

I'm still larfing.

Holy crap that was good.

"It's Calvin Klein mixed with the sweat of mill workers." As one who would love to see Edwards become president, I thought that was the funniest part.

Kudos, RSU. Great satire.

The two country people are not conservatives? Jesus General (an 11 on the manly scale of absolute gender) is a parody? noooooo!!

Nice to see that conservatives have a healthy sense of humor too!

here is the picture i made while just playing around in photoshop after seeing Dulap's campaign slogan for Huckabee. I realized how much he looks like an aging jim neighbors.

Huckabee? Fuck me!

It's called satire, look it up. lol Dunlap and Jackie rock!

I wasn't expecting it, but that was funny as hell. Great Obama voice!

(They couldn't milk that Obama/Richardson shot enough, could they?)

They're not conservatives. They mock conservatives. It's parody. It's their regular shtick.

they are no more conservative than Colbert

Dunlap and Jackie are awesome. Check out more of their videos here:

They even did their Christmas one with Mike Gravel!

I'm still giggling over the Mittster telling Obama he'd only get disapproving stares from his church nowadays! Jackie and Dunlap kill me, and I don't usually enjoy deliberately redneck humor--not because I'm a snob, but because I don't get the references.

Apparantly nobody in the US that isn't named Colbert is allowed to parody the "right wing". A lot of people see a fat gray-bearded man behind a WALL of Budweiser cans and think "OMG REDNECK REICH-WINGER". This video was comedy gold.

That was funny as hell. HAHA-HA.
Who would have time to think of that. Crazy assess. HAHAHAHAHA-HA.

The sad part was at the end of the clip when paul appeared to block the big guy's path and/or the big guy was trying to walk away from paul while paul was in mid-sentence.

paul is loney...just like his campaign.

HAHAHAHAHA

Yesterday someone posted a link about the personal net worth of all the candidates. It was priceless.

That link tore paul and paulies a new asshole.

I immensely enjoyed it.

Not one single repug candidate is worth a day in any office.

____ _______ _________

Its silly to have kids say, "I want to be just like bush (chimpy".)

Can you imagine kids saying (aloud) that they want to be like paul?

HAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm amazed that there are still people who don't get that

JACKIE AND DUNLAP ARE NOT IN FACT RIGHTWINGERS BUT PLAYING RIGHTWINGERS, AND DAMMED LIKABLE RIGHTWINGERS, TOO!

Of, course they mix in some satire and critique of liberals, but that only makes them better. IMHO they're better than Colbert.

I wonder what they actially said to eachother

SparkieVT's picture

That was a two or three spit taker! Jackie and Dunlap almost always make me laugh. (Though I find Jackie's character to be a little one dimensional and formulaic for the most part). The fact that so many think that they are, in fact, rednecks proves Jon Stewart's point that satire and reality are so close as to make the comedy form almost impossible to pull off. Seven years ago, when Bush was going into office, it would have been satirical to depict him waterboarding a terrorist or strutting around in a flight suit on an aircraft carrier. Then he made that real. Now many think the Daily Show is a news show, even the news shows give Stewart hell for soft-balling political celebrities. Ah me, I'll miss satire. Soon all comedy will have to be labeled - NC-17-CMDY - in order to be recognized as something funny.

Yeah, "Bill, for fuck's sake", was the kicker!

craig's picture

Red State Update is the lamest political satire of all time. I'm sorry, I just can't get behind guys. It's just not funny.

I'm with you, Craig. With Obama denouncing this bullshit "red vs. blue" narrative in his well deserved victory speech, I'd've thought C&L would unify, not divide, these United States.

Partisanship is a problem, not a solution. Haven't you ever read the Seuss story about the Star-Bellied Sneetches?

"We Hate Them More than They Hate Us" is not a winning strategy.

Grow up.

SparkieVT's picture

'Grow up'; such a juvenile response. I would submit that Red State Update provides equal opportunity satire (like the Daily Show) and that by doing so they present a populist front highlighting the vapidness of political coverage and commentary in these fine United States. Would Graig and knowbuddha prefer this childish political movement over the fine work that C&L does?

Playing nice while the opposing side plays hardball is not a winning strategy. Politics is about winning, not about making friends.

I'm sure that right-wingers are salivating of the thought of Obama actually trying to follow through on his theme of cooperation and bipartisanship. After the past 8 years, democrats owe republicans nothing.

I don't see Suess or Buddhism being very good guides in presidential politics. It's sad but true.

Damien Duff's picture

Jackie and Dunlap are not rednecks they just play them on TV. They don't live in Tennessee, actually I think they are out of California. They are not right wingers they just do a good job of skewering them. Come on I expect Republicans to be so lame brained but people on this site should be able to understand the concept of satire.
