Rove tried to dig up dirt on Siegelman

One almost gets the sense that Karl Rove is some kind of sleazy operator or something.

Jill Simpson, who has long alleged that Rove may have influenced the corruption prosecution of former Gov. Don Siegelman, makes the claim against Rove in a broadcast scheduled to be aired Sunday, according to a statement from CBS.... According to the CBS statement, Simpson says Rove approached her at a 2001 meeting, when Siegelman was still governor.

"Karl Rove asked you to take pictures of Siegelman?" reporter Scott Pelley asks.

"Yes," Simpson replies.

"In a compromising sexual position with one of his aides," Pelley says.

"Yes, if I could," she responds.

Bush doesn't call him "Turd Blossom" for nothing.

CBS 60 Minutes to run Siegelman story on Sunday; Great idea. - http://thinkprogress.org/2008/02/21/cbs-60-minutes-to-run-siegelman-stor...
CBS’s 60 Minutes will air its long-awaited report on Alabama’s incarcerated former governor Don Siegelman, reportedly one of its “best pieces of domestic exposé journalism.” Justice Department prosecutors opposed the Siegelman investigation, in which Bush administration political operatives — including Karl Rove — 'allegedly' interfered.
THIS IS MUST SEE TV....remember to tune in...

Is this referring to the previously spiked, at the request of the white house, episode of 60 Minutes?

Thanks for clarifying. I wonder what changed that they are running it now.

Rove just wanted the picture so he could spank his monkey in the Lincoln bedroom while staring at it.

what will come of this? nothing...anyone connected to this admin gets a free pass as far as justice is concerned.

remember that asshole in your 8th grade class?

that's America!

Why are they running it now? There isn't enough political clout in the white house to get a traffic light changed. We are in the Bush end times. Hopefully he doesn't make the end times for the rest of us.

Rove is an embarassment to Turd Blossoms everywhere.

This stuff just isn't going to go away after Bush rides off into the bank account. Even earthquakes have aftershocks. How anyone would want to be Prez next year is beyond me. I predict whoever wins will have a one term presidency, because there is no way in this world anyone can fix this mess in four years. No way.

Only 333 days left in Dumbya's 15-mins of fame.

carry on.

Countdown's "Nexus of Terror and Politics" is a MUST see! There's a video at the MSNBC website but I don't know if I'm posting the proper link.

Karl Rove, Bush's brain, is a lowlife, dirtball, lying-scumbag? I'm shocked!

Looks like the "turd," doesn't fall far from the asshole.

JustSickOfIt -

Because it isn't enough to just let them run out the clock and leave with everything they've stolen and getting off scott-free for all the death and destruction they have caused.

That's like saying Osama doesn't matter anymore because he's been "marginalized", which to them means that if you lose political standing, you don't need to be caught or prosecuted for the mass murders you have caused and you get to keep the spoils of the victor. And that does sound exactly like the Bush misAdministration, doesn't it?

They had to get Al Capone for tax evasion to stop him. I don't care which of Bush's crimes - big or little - they use to stop him, he needs to be stopped and all the little murderers under him need to cleaned out like the roaches they are.

Saying we should let them leave office because their time is short will still leave us infested.

To quote the character of Hudson (played by Bill Paxton) in the movie Aliens:"I say we waste this ratfuck mother-fucker right now". Sounds like a fairly appropriate response for anything dealing with Karl Rove, doesn't it?

I wonder what changed that they are running it now.

The Locust Fork Journal said the only reason CBS held the Siegelman story is because they wanted it to run in their top slot. That's when the most people watch. The run up to Super Tuesday and other stories have pushed them to hold the story.

With any luck, Rove and Bush will suffer the same fate as Joe Pesci's Nicky Santoro and his brother at the end of "Casino".

There's nothing that gets my blood boiling like injustice. Needless to say I'm in a state of semi-rage constantly these days.

I can't wait until Rove is out of the white house and Mark Penn can take over the soulless henchman role for him if Hillary wins. Nothing beats getting one awful hate spreading tool out of the administration and replacing him with an even worse person.

Wouldn't that be sweet?
There'd be a three second pause for the few interested folks to wonder what had become of the chimp and his turd and then we'd all move on with our lives.

I like to think there will come a time where bush is on his knees begging for his life and crying like a baby.
Karma.
Only for it to be real karma he'd have to go through it once for every person his war for profit has murdered.

Would somebody please dig up some dirt on Rove.
Other than what he boldly dangles in front of us everyday.
I can see him smirking now. He thinks he is smarter than everyone else.

Agree if the next prez is Hillary or McCain. Not sure about Obama.

and they called him boosh's brain. This guy has to have the blackest heart in the history of US politics

File this under 'senseless troll distraction'. Until Hilary officially joins the ranks of genocidal mass murderers and ultimate traitors to this country, there is NO comparison.

In fact, there is no longer ANY president in our history, or present candidate, who can hold a candle to Bush and his henchmen when it comes to treason, murder, perfidy, war-mongering, blatant corruption, the death of an American city, and sexual perversion.

mudshark @ 22:

As for the "blackest heart," certainly Haldeman and Ehrlichman (even Colson) were innocent choir boys compared to Rove, although I'm sure he took lessons from them.

But Cliff Carter, a name lost to history, who was LBJ's right-hand man, was up to his eyeballs in murder (yes, murder), bribes, and various sorts of illegal doings, all in the service of LBJ. Cliff Carter might make Rove look OK.

Hey, don't misquote me. I think they should all be hung, upside down with entrails out. These people need to be tortured until they admit all their transgressions then burned alive. I was just making the comment that Bushco is becoming so lame duck that they can't stop a simple 60 minutes article.

That is what really scares me. If they don't get the retro active immunity they want, they will take us all with them. That's why I say IMPEACH while the iron is hot. Kick them out before they can excuse their crimes against humanity. Then try them, hang them, burn them and bury them, even their little dog too.

First, Hillary isn't going to win. Second, there is no other person worse than KKKarl, well maybe Stinky Dick, but it's very close.

We are turning the tables, and none of you trolls are going to get a free pass, traitors.

A steaming pile of worm-infested monkey shit is two levels above the standards of this current President and his Administration.

No matter who instigated the investigation, prosecution, and conviction of Don Siegelman...the fact remains that he was convicted of his crimes by a jury based on the evidence. I am an Alabama native and regardless of the political spin given this case...justice did prevail and Siegelman is in jail where he belongs. BTW...I think Karl Rove is an asshole.

Obviously you haven't considered the evidence in the case and Siegelman's strong ties to Richard Scrushy.

Rove was probably curious about heterosexual sex.

Bob, nice name. I was trying to answer the question "Why are they running it NOW?" Not ask the question. And by the way, there are lot worse things than framing a Governor as payback for political favors. These people have destroyed a country, killed a million people and stole over a trillion dollars. Not to mention the list of crimes against humanity, the constitution, the Geneva convention and ..... sorry, I wasn't going to mention those.

I wouldn't piss on KKKarl if he was on fire. I'd just pull out a cigarette, light it and laugh.

Wasn't Siegelman a crook anyway?

"One almost gets the sense that Karl Rove is some kind of sleazy operator or something."

Didn't you mean to say:

"One gets the definite scent that Karl Rove is a sleaze-bag"?

Sounds more correct. I'm not an English teacher or anything.

One almost gets the sense that Karl Rove is some kind of sleazy operator or something

Aw, c-mon! is that nice?...oh, wait, it's 100% accurate! Never mind(with a nod toward Gilda Radner)

He's not the blossom--he's just the turd! The smell follows him wherever he goes.

"One almost gets the sense that Karl Rove is some kind of sleazy operator or something."

Or something? ROTFLMAO

Rove was an acolyte under Atwater. Atwater learned from the Nixon team. Each was a sleazier, mor amoral excuse for a human being than his teacher.

Rove should be locked away - he won't be because he is revered by Republicans who have been in power because of his skill at Texas smash mouth politics.

Can we give Texas back to Mexico - nah - they're too smart for that trick. They'd make us keep the Rovians.

I stopped being surprised by anything that comes from this crowd when I accepted the fact that they are a bunch of gangsters. Gangsters have no morals or scruples, they just want power and wealth and they will do anything to get it. When we start to frame them correctly, we'll be better equipped to deal with them.

fuck 60 minutes and the media. they helped put these assholes in office, sucked their asses for the last 7 years and now after they've practically destroyed our country, they decide there going to get tough with them. i refuse to waste my time to watch this shit.

Blackmail is how the National Socialist Party of Germany worked. Youa re expecting different?

The NSA wiretapping provides so much ammo to use against Democrats I doubt there are more than 20 that are not blackmailed already.

Feinstien? Says a passionate speach against doing something then votes in the other way. Used to be good? Now held by blackmail.

I'm sure there are many out there that can understand the use of blackmail and not call me a crazy person.

Mmmmm, I wonder if thats what happened to Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman and other Dems who wandered over to the darkside. I wonder if Rove has lots and lots of pictures in little files somewhere.

One more thing about Zell Miller, i always thought his support of Bush was desperate and manic; sometimes it seemed he was on the verge of tears.

That is not "digging" for dirt.
It's ordering custom made dirt to go.

You really should consider forming a commando unit of anti-republicans.

They could actively get in Rove's ( and any other target for that matter ) face at every possible opportunity thus making his public life a living hell.

Rove et al should face consequences for their actions.

Immediately and constantly.

The Vians? I don't think they're nearly has dastardly as those cold heartless aliens (i.e. Rove & McCain).

Maybe this is how the regime keeps the dems in line maybe there's pics of reid and peolosi no no it's just that they're bought and paid for

And then there's that whole imprisoning thing...

All I can say about Karl is, I am sure it wasn't for his own amusement. If what I suspect about Karl is anywhere near the truth, those types of pictures certainly wouldn't be a turn-on for him.

rove = fat disgusting perverted child molesting sick psychopathic NERD who wants revenge on all the normal people who picked on him. by the way seems like everyone finally hates dipshit dubya now read these comments:

The Menagerie, a two part episode taken from the original pilot, The Cage. Jeffrey Hunter was the original captain. They mixed the old and new episodes together. ( I confess, I was a Trekkie)

Come on all you people QUIT calling (Carl Rove) all of those other bad NAMES for HIS BEST BUD , BUSH and CRIME FAMILY gave him the best name of all (TURD BLOSSOM) now that name fits Carl Rove. ( This is the PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.A. I want to speek to my BEST BUD Turd Blossom. Hell'o TURD BLOSSOM SPEAKING) How is NEWSWEEK going to handle this. Good MORNING TURD BLOSSOM.

Judge Fuller (a Bush appointee) was a Republican electoral strategist and an anti-Siegelman campaigner. Fuller lost his job as a DA when Siegelman became governor. Fuller refused to recuse himself. (and it's actually a lot more convoluted than space permits.)

One juror said he believed Scrushy (the alleged briber) was guilty before the case began, he was allowed to stay and was eventually made foreman!

Jurors 7 and 40 consulted the Internet on numerous occasions and were emailing about the case during the trial.

Juror 7 conducted multiple Internet searches, obtained "detailed information," and interjected what he had found into jury deliberations.

Judge Fuller has defied the orders of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and his duty as a judge to produce a transcript. Siegelman cannot appeal without the transcript.
