Brave New Films: FOX ATTACKS Obama! Part 2
By Logan Murphy Sunday Mar 16, 2008 8:02pm
No surprise that FOX has been at it again: smearing, distorting, attacking Obama. What is infuriating and requires IMMEDIATE ACTION is that so many in the media have been catching the FOX virus and spreading it. By way of a cure, we bring you the next installment in our highly successful FOX Attacks! series. Together, we have battled them effectively, halted their fake debates, and put pressure on Bill O'Reilly for on his attacks on homeless vets. And so far, over 6 million people have seen our FOX Attacks!
Of course, Obama isn't the only Democratic nominee that FOX and their ilk have gone after in this Presidential race. Chris Matthews, once a Roger Ailes hire, has been demonizing Hillary Clinton every chance he gets. Our friends at Media Matters have more on how Matthews is modeling himself after Bill O'Reilly. With your support we can and will continue the fight. Read on...
MoveOn.org has a petition you can sign to send to the other networks telling them not to use FOXNews spin.
"FOX is a Republican mouthpiece, not a legitimate news organization. Real news organizations must reject FOX's smears of Barack Obama, not parrot them." Sign the petition here.

I love Big Brother
It is the age punditry, never mind if they feign journalism.
Cancel your cable TV
Someone please post K.O.'s number one story on "Countdown" tonight, it was a verbal beat down of Bill OReilly that was truly epic, one for the record books. This was the kind of spanking that leaves welts and bruises. It was awesome.
IdahoMoe @ 3:
Seriously, do yourself a favor and tell Comcast where to stick it, at the same time.
Why are Obama's people sitting on this while Rove and Slanthead are virtually masturbating under the table while they attack Wright as Obama? Obama's campaigners should be shouting the names of John Hagee and Rod Parsley from the rooftops. Someone needs to be fired over this.
Barack! You want to run the big show? Then show some GUTS!
Rupert MurDICK has so much money, resources, and businesses, that no ground roots campaign could really affect him in any way, shape or form. People buy into his crazy corporate bullshit. They love him everywhere. Intelligent people hate his guts, but there are far more American Idol/Survivor brains in the world, than intelligent people. Sad reality.
I will sign the moveon petition when they start one on MSNBC for their unfair attacks on Hillary.
It's insidious, the way this nonsense perpetuates itself. I have to work in a cube farm across from some freeper, and she (she!) spends at least an hour day glorifying herself in her ability to trot out the worst edges of these talking point turds, as if it were gospel. And there is no other reality for this woman, the only thing for her to cling to is this molasses of derision. She actually forwarded me several emails from the stream of bile that comes from those people...the "oh I may be a gay handicapped Mexican addict, but please not a democrat" and "the Australians don't put up with this immigrant BS so why should we" type of emails. And the sad fact of the matter is that I can't trust the management or the HR department to make a complaint because I haven't been able to vet them out enough to know whether they're in the same camp and would turn my complaint against me and my family!
What. The. Hell. Is. Going. On. Here???
Obama's campaign has really been an unreal fairly tale and I am glad to see some of these attacks coming his way. I think he was beginning to get cocky and he needs to start eating some humble pie. I'm glad hillary finally realized that she had to counter attack, even though he was black and at the risk of being called racist.
nm @ 10:
Not right at all. You're shooting yourself in the foot.
nm @ 10:
You're obviously disgusted with the way politics are being handled. Here's my advice to you. Don't vote.
Old Billy Hussein @ 11:
No I'm not. I think a large part of the reason people were unwilling to go after obama is because they didn't want to be accused of being racists. He is now faltering under the weight of these negative attacks, which are justified and expected in any presidential campaign.
You can't win an election by talking about "Hope" when we are in the middle of 2 disastrous wars!
nm @ 13:
YES WE CAN.
nm @ 10:
When will HRC be eating some of this "humble pie" you speak of?
Old Billy Hussein @ 5:
That's exactly where this is headed for me....
Especially with the price of gas!
Obama associated himself with his spirital mentor Rev long before FUX news came along.
nm @ 10:
Are you nuts? This is not Hillary attacking Obama...this if Faux Noise doing the dirty work on him and it is not only objectionable, but is slimy.
FOX has enabled Bush's American destroying agenda of tax cuts for the rich, endless wars for Halliburton, record budget deficits, America being alienated in the world, torture, 900 lies, trampling on the Constitution so I ask who's the anti-America traitors, Obama or BushCo and the FOX?
Signed the petition. However, the other stations probably quote Faux News because, like Roger Ailes, they: a) know which side their bread is buttered on b) it's a lot easier than doing their jobs.
Nothing's changed in four years. The msm is still looking for a free ride on a swift-boat.
moniker @ 21:
They're not going to get one. The thing they treat most seriously is something some schmuck said in church. If that's the best lead they have to chase, they're gonna need new shoes.
Oh, that's a classic video!
It begins with the many FUX News folks opining that Obama's supporters were cult-like. That they displayed eerie love and devotion to him -- the kind of which Chairman Mao could "only dream" -- without rational thought or criticism.
And towards the end it shows FUX News criticizing Obama himself for not displaying proper patriotism. For not displaying "public, outright" love and devotion marked by flag lapels, hands over hearts, and other symbolic gestures. You know, the kind that we're all, as good citizens supposed to express without rational thought or criticism. Heh, and it wraps up with FUX comparing Obama to Hitler -- Hitler, they megalomaniacal mass murderer who exploited the blind nationalism and patriotism that makes Obama uncomforatble.
There's FUX News for ya, right there!
FUX: Obama supporters are cult-like.
Thinker: And you're against cult-like thinking?
FUX: No, no. Just against the cult of Obama. Cult like support of America and Bush is what's needed.
"Our economy is in a shambles," Obama said at a town hall meeting at a community college near Pittsburgh.
"Now we are in the soup and we better get ourselves out of it before the consequences get drastic," Clinton said.
Did she call Obama a "Halfrican"? She should resign or FOX should fire her immediately!
Racist! Racist! Racist!
miamirelatives @ 8:
They have done the same thing to Hillary, so you think it should continue because they don't have a petition for Hillary. It's not just about Obama, it's about the behavior of the media. Don't make this a Hillary, Obama issue.
The people watching this crap have no intention to vote for Obama or Hillary. I do wish sometime that those who get so exercised by the trashing of Obama on Fox would also have some disgust for the trashing of Hillary on all the networks but they seem to rather enjoy it and perpetuate it. There is a double standard at play here. Hillary was not my choice but she really does not deserve this treatment either.
L.A. Confidential @ 24:
Bush/McCain/GOP economy taking hold. Reagan didn't wreck the nation's economy through tax cuts and runaway military spending when he had the chance, though he tried like hell so Bush is going to do what Reagan failed at.
I have a hard time believing what I'm reading here. The video is about the spread of the same tactics that Fox uses is spreading out through all the media. It's not just Obama.
So Fox News goes after Obama while Limbaugh and Coulter tell people to vote for Clinton. It's obvious who the Republicans want the Democratic nominee to be. Just ask yourselves why. I don't think Clinton's on their side, don't think I'm insinuating that. They just know it's easier for McCain to beat her than Obama, but if she DOES win she might be a little more receptive to corporate ideals... not that Obama's as progressive as I'd like him to be.
I'm sorry. Nothing reported by Fox about Obama was factually inaccurate. The fact that you dislike accurate reporting, where the media is not fawning over everything Obama says, is pathetic. Obama has a 20 year old pastor, who he donated $20,000 to, who hates America, and hates white people. That affects Obama's judgment. MSNBC is So Much worse than Fox it is ridiculous; Keith Olbermann didn't even cover Wright when he came out.
His Pastor is just a disgusting human being.
Ron @ 29:
What exactly is hard to believe here, Ron? Fox has their script and just like any wrassler, they're sticking to it. The Clinton-as-opponent is the only enemy they have actually rehearsed against, and this young upstart is throwing a wrench in the works. They have to pull out whatever bullshit they can improvise to get their girl center stage so they can mock her out of America altogether. There can be only one! What's not to get?
Devil's Advocate @ 31:
You are a disgusting human being. And that's assuming you are a human.
odanny @ 4:
I missed it...C%L if you would be so kind to post KO's rant..
[I've got no inside knowledge here, but I'd be welling to bet- the house, the kids and what's left of my integrity- that the video will be here soon. Patience, please. Site Monitor]
To all here, a few questions,
how can any news outlet today think of themselves as serious, when they have this kind of garbage throughout their programming schedule. I am thoroughly uninterested by the (idiotic, un-substantiated, fleeting, etc) *analysis, seeing as these people require more than a few minutes or even hours or days to come up with a legitimate argument. I would advance the notion that we need to lose our hysteria about many issues, get off the couch and get into the thick of it with people outside the *safe* bubble of the living room, bedroom (who has televisions in their bedrooms ?), in order to connect and disagree with people in real life. I would love to see real time comments on the network news' websites of real people listening and responding to their inane stories of imbecilic coverage of whatever they deem news. Ever notice how NBC didn't really cover their parent company's sale of arms to middle eastern companies ? I love how everything is supposedly perfect in the president's mind, when there are clearly different realities unfolding in our lives. His insularity is a nuisance and a danger. Whoever insinuates a lack of patriotism because you are simply curious needs to maybe take a look at that recent study released by the CDC that states that 1 in 4 (!!!!!!!) 13 to 19 old girls have STD's... Hmmm, I wonder, do these faith-based initiatives work ??? Anger is one thing, I am simply tired of being this shocked, and who are their idiots that write the FCC compaining about the presence of nudity or profanity, whilst I can still hear many racist terms being used on daytime television during regular movie showings. Who are these people ? I guess that their worldview will ultimately lead to collapse. However, my question relates to the long term lessons in this exercise: will we re-elect these criminals (Rove, Gonzalez, Miers, Ashcroft, Ridley, Puryear, etc, etc, etc) in another 4 years ? The whole idea that conservatives cannot govern is not really resonating with anyone else ? I agree that government cannot solve ALL THE PROBLEMS in the world, but don't tell me it can't have a role ? You denounce the government as inefficient and then you appoint people like... is it worth mentioning their names ? Why do I go to work everyday ? The media is simply making it worse by discussing non-issues. There was a great guest on the BBC over the last week that said she was bemused by anyone's ability to hire a golf pro to perfect your golf swing, but what about hiring a professional to spruce up your sexual skills ? Suddenly accusations fly ! He lied to the public (d'oh ?!). I wish more people started conversations with: did you read the proposed 2009 budget for defense lately ? How about them earmarks ?! I confess to being a complete nut for facts surrounding the number of locals killed by our troops at Bagram Air Force Base and other such inanities, but it appears that American Idol is more important. If it that hard to jazz these things up and make them look interesting ? The people in the media are complete imbeciles (repetitious, I know, but there is so much in the world going on... let's see... How about those bombings in Somalia by predatory planes ? Can you imagine yourself living that here in the USA ? You are at safeway and suddenly, kaboom !) I give up for tonight, but I continue reading because if all of these politicians were helf to maybe 4 or 6 years in office max, they wouldn't take their positions for granted and might actually get re-elected based on their records (how many Iraq war votes were cast ?), rather than the stupidities that people tend to say when they need to get elected. BBQ at John McCain's ranch. I don't know about you, but I don't have a ranch and I don't think I'd like my President to have a ranch. Seriously ! I want a hard working person (preferably a minority of any kind; multiple minorities are a bonus, because we have been ruined by too many an old white man...) Where was I ?
Fox Who?
Swiss Company Signs Multibillion Dollar Gas Deal With Iran
DIETIKON, Switzerland (AP) -- Swiss energy trading company EGL said Monday it signed a multibillion dollar contract to buy natural gas from Iran over the next 25 years.
The U.S. immediately criticized the agreement as "sending the wrong message."
Journalists, at least the ones who call themselves "professional" are a pretty venal lot.I think the most apt description of their behavior was provided by Jon Stewart who compared them to a tyke soccer team, all running around the field chasing the ball. Now they are all locked in a ratings battle and are watching each other like hawks. The tiniest positive blip in ratings in the another network's ratings will have them pursuing the same strategy and bias. Unfortunately Fox News generally represents both the lowest common denominator and the leading model for winning rating wars. There is a way of fighting back but it does entail some positive action. You tell them what you think by e-mail. Personally I love doing this. It is especially effective when you make clear that you find their bias "ist" and be sure to cc their advertisers. You almost always get a humble response. The volume of e-mail will tell in time.
porkchop @ 32:
I have been saying how bad the media is for years. Fox is just the official propaganda channel. The rest just follow their leadership. They are infotainment, not news.
nm @ 10:
huh
Ron @ 33:
Wow, that's so clever how they edit the video to make it look like Obama introduced Wright! Or maybe he's really there, I'm too stupid to tell! Or maybe that same clip of Obama over and over and over cut into Wright's sermon is the most annoying thing I've heard in a long time. Find a better clip to post, this is obnoxious from an editing standpoint. Anyway, Obama wasn't in the audience when Wright was making these statements.
I mean, honestly, do you think Obama hates America? He has some crazy plan to become its president to destroy it?
L.A. Confidential @ 37:
And a still worse sin..buying from the wrong oil/gas company.
Ron @ 33:
Hey Ron what would you expect from the Devil's Advocate. He's working Pro Bonehead.
Peter G @ 42:
It's probably too much to expect but, I was hoping he had 2 working brain cells.
did anybody catch anderson cooper the other night badgering senator obama. it would have made rupert murdoch proud.
porkchop @ 9:
porkchop @ 9:
At least its easy to quantify ones intelligence, or lack thereof, from making their politics known. We all know someone stupid as your example but in the best of circumstances we can put alot of distance between us and them And are not exposed to them 8 hours a day.
This Freeper you are afflicted with should be quarantined
Ron@43. I don't know if the devil is guilty or innocent but I'm pretty sure he's going to be doing hard time. His only hope on appeal is to plead ineffective counsel.
No petitions for Hillary Clinton, I notice.
nm @ 13:
Swell. Try being hopeless and cynical then. You lose.
Hee hee.
Devil's Advocate @ 31:
Indeed.
In that clip, there was very little reported that was factual at all.
Hee hee. It's so much easier to argue against what you want us to believe rather than what we do believe, isn't it?
Oh yeah? He looks much older. :)
Obama donated $20,000 to his pastor?
Lighten up on him. He's only 20, after all.
I guess so. I mean, Obama donated money to the pastor instead of the other way around. We really do need to think about this.
Since you capitalized "So" and "Much" it must be true.
Wright's gay? Keith sure didn't cover that! At least, not in this video.
Mix this shit with brain dead faux heroes and you have the unmentionable scenario Nicole previously blogged about. Let's stop the bastards.
Devil's Advocate @ 31:
You're sorry all right---the sorriest poster on this thread. Who are you, a paid RNC operative that gets to focus on trivialities like Obama's pastor, whose remarks he repudiated?
Anonymous Source @ 30:
So YOU THINK it's what Limbaugh and Coulter SAYS that's SHOULD INFLUENCE US on who we should pick as our Democratic Nominee to face them? Wonders never cease.
Please pay attention to the FACTS. That's all you need to do to get your answer. What STATES has Hillary or Obama WON that could POSSIBLY send a Democrat into the White House through the ELECTORAL COLLEGE in November?
When you do some research on Red, Blue, and Battleground states and the outcome of what party has won what STATES in the last 25 years of the Presidential ELECTION outcomes then you'll have your DEFINITIVE answer.
As for the FOX coverage on Obama, do we honestly expect them to praise Obama?
This problem is of BO own making. What pains me more than ever is that he knew he had all this BAGGAGE but is quite prepared to COMPROMISE his party chances of winning back the White House by still pushing himself forward. Talk about putting your own ambition first.
Let's be honest with ourselves. If it had been Hillary who was in this MESS right now, Many of you here would have been asking her to step OUT of the race.
It will not ONLY be Fox News but it will be the entire Main stream media (currently treating him with "kid gloves") who will be "walking all over him" on this.
John Kerry's "swiftboating" will seem like nothing compared what he will FACE.
Thank you all once again for a great night of comedy. I love the fact that you are all so scared out of your socks by FOX News. The truth hurts. Obama will be forced out of the race soon since his teflon covering has been peeled off and America is finally seeing the real Obama and what his true values are. None of you can believe Hillary can be elected. The Dems biggest mistake was booting Edwards, he may have been your only chance.
Troll @ 53:
Scared? What a laugh. Projecting much are you? Realizing that delusional people like you represent our opposition makes me rest a lot easier.
bmw H. 528 @ 54:
Delusional? What was delusional, Hillary has a ton of baggage which all but makes her unelectable. Obama's chances may all hinge on the reaction to his his speech tomorrow. I think you all protest too much, in what way am I not making valid points.
Troll @ 53:
No, thank you!
I love my partner, my family and my friends, but I suppose I can't begrudge you your love if it's what you have to cling to. ;)
Which explains why FUX shuns it.
I think I'll bookmark this page so I can quote you later.
I know! By the way, did you hear that he was black too? I don't want to circulate unsubstantiated rumors, but I heard that one somewhere.
You don't spend much time on C&L, do you?
Ehh, we could always hack into the Diebold machines.
Karen @ 56:
Let me see actually it's spelled FOX not FUX or were you trying to be funny? And no I don't love FOX, I watch alll the outlets. Oh and by the way Obama is only half black or maybe you didn't know that.
Troll @ 55:
When you think your opinion is the same as fact, you're delusional. I'll bet that's why you love Fox so much and their Soviet style journalism.
As for the rest of your opinionated baloney, it isn't worth the time to discuss.
Troll @ 57:
Funny? Didn't you read Christopher Hitchens yesterday? I can't be funny.
Egads, no! Don't do that!
Crazy scary, isn't it! And his mom was an atheist! Oh, the horror!
StCyrlyMe2 says,
All of us that are helplessly out here in TV land, watching this media circus attempt to dismantle all of the hopes and dreams of American people, who have already staked our claim in this presidential election, with their own cheap version of what was said, who said it and how much impact it must have in deciding weather Senator Obama is fit to become the President of the United States.
Never mind our country is in full blown recession mode where millions of Americans have now lost their homes while they bail out the banks that made the bogas loans, we are paying $3.50 for gas while they continue to give tax breaks to the C.E.O's , we are suffering job loss, health and retirement benefits all over this county, we have lost thousands of our youth in this illegal war and murdered, raped and tortured thousands more in Iraq, we have completely wiped out the US treasurer, we are suffering with the takeover of them, all our national media and to the same right wing zealots that were major players in all the corruption going on all over this country and George Bush, who caused this entire mess, is still the President.
With all this shit going on, who the hell do you think would or should be highlighted all over the media? Certainly not Senator Obama, remember he is the good guy. He is the one that voted against the war and against all of the cheap tricks and treats they give us each and every day.
Never mind all of the cheap pornographic sleaze, they all pass off and present to us as news worthy information, that cheapens the message even more, when they actually have the audasity to present using the very people that make these comments.
They are treated as viable upstanding citizens that deserve to be pranced all over our media each day and we all know exactly whom I refer to with the Pat Buccannon's, Tom Delay's, Bill Bennett's, and on and on.
However the comments of Reverend Wright who is in their views an African American Raciest who has the nerve to stand up to truth and power and who had the nerve to dame America, and the fact that he does it with such a hostel tone. How dare he say that about America, the greatest country in the world, says these all time bigots, that have lied to, cheated and stolen from the very people they now attempt to infulance with their never ending, destracting montra from the real issues, they want to run from.
How dare they.
Never mind that they under the leadership of George W Bush have set this country up for this very type of scrutney and yes it hurts to here that kind of discussion about a country we all know and love, but be damed that we also have allowed a gang of cheap chicken shit raciest media tramps, like these very thugs that re-play this video and who has had the nerve to cost this country everything. How dare they
Yes after listening to the entire video, I do disagree with the kind of laungage the pastor used in the house of the loard and I understand why it is important that Senator Obama disagrees with some of it and even denounces much of it, but he has the audasity to stand tall like the great man that he is and not through this pastor under the bus. How dare they.
Senator Obama is calling it like it should be called. Statements by his minister of twenty years that have been taken out of contex, in the heat of frustration and anger, caused by the very people that are now attempting to distroy him, as they have successfully did to other's. How dare they.
Never mind all the dirty, vile and depressing statements that have been made by these people, against undeserving people with no platform to challenge any of the crap they have slung at us and done over and over, by these same freaks to whom the pastor is refering and I know that most well thinking Americans have enough sense to look beyond the words at exactly those to whom these words were ment for and take head at the fact that someone had the decency and the courage to do just that. How dare they
Yes they all need to continue playing the video, over and over and over, until at the very least, some of them get the message that you cannot continue to misstreat people, the way that they have and expect to not have a back lash, right back in there face. These people have used their privilaged life style to control this country long enough. How dare they.
I know that is difficult to flip the switch on your TV dials and just turn these people out, especially those of us who are well aware of what they are trying to do, as they have been diligently working 24/7, to find just the right scandal to run with and no doubt, they think this is the one they believe will change the mind set of voters, both black and White against Senator Obama. How dare they
Now that I have laid it on the table, we can actually come to terms of just how much so called damage this minister of Obama's has created for him.
Now before I really listened to the sermon, in it's entirety, I did some writing in defense of Senator Obama , just basted on the small chopped up tid bits that this media continues to shove at us , as they present it to us in a manor that would simply have the most timid of us upset or pissed off and that is understandable. However as I viewed the entire tape and tired to overlook the expression of frustration , not hatred on the face of this pastor. I disagree with some of it, but fully understood much of it.
As I listened to the words of this pastor, I had to think, but not real hard about the words that I and millions of others also used to vent our frustrations of what had really happened and how it is we all stood by so passively, and allowed George Bush and this right wing gang of hoes, to distroy much of everything many of us ever had in life and still be allowing these bastards to get away with the shit, while they trash anybody else that would take a stand. How dare they and to this day even as we wait and watch the supporters of this man, that are planted all over our networks in this cheap effort to continue to promote the actions of their selected president, who was never really elected to the job, but appointed by many of also the same kind of people Obama's pastor was speaking of and also posing as Supreme Court Justices.
In the mist of all this cheap hipe, we are destened to have to put up with through out this campaign as they aim to finish Senator Obama off and if they are successful, they will be down to Hillary, who no doubt will be the last to go and the easest, because of all the real dirt and sleez, that she and Bill have just waiting in the broom closet. They are not going to demand Tax Statements and Justification of Billions of Dollars that poured into the Presidentual Library, when they can save it for McCain to go after, which is why they are hoping we are so stupid to hand then Senator Obama to solve this little problem.
The question is will we be that ignornat? I refuse to believe that and the fact that he, inspite of the media hit job on him, has managed to pull in a truck load of delegates, just this week end and promises to pull in even more. He is now just 39 Super Delegates under Clinton's lead, which was the only thing she was beating him on. They are not reporting these facts folks and the reason is because they don't want you to know that the impact of this media train wreak is effecting them more then it is him.
As we continue to watch this never ending circus, with no end in site, we have to understand that the ball continues to be in our court, because the very powerful message our votes will accomplish, will most assuradly send a clear message to these cheap tricks that they will never forget and as we have watched the dismanteling of a few of them this week. We can tale to heart if we play our cards right, that there will be many more to get the hell off our air waves and out of our face.
We need to continue calling for the Tax Records and information of where all this money for the presidential library is coming from. No matter what they in media will say. She knows that she has not come clean with the American people.
We also want to know about this million dollar law suite against her and Bill from Peter Paul, who has supeoned her as a defendent and guess what folks? The hearing is the day after the Philadelphia primary, and the media is aware of this trialm but also choose to give her a pass. I wounder why.
And when these sick bastards get through with this cheap sick game they are playing on Senator Obama, tell the bastards to go get the video of Republican Congressman Ron Paul and his verson of the same kind of talk and laungage. Oh yea, thats right. He dosn't count anymore. They already slipped McCain in the spot he was supposed to get.
Go get it anyhow for the amusement.
Peace
Troll @ 57:
I have loadsa pals with one white parent and a black parent, and you know what? That white parent doesn't figure in at all during the DWB stops, the random hassling or racial bigotry they face every day.
Funny how that works, isn't it? Now it's really important to point out that he has one white parent. It's pretty late in the game to come to a site like this and try to rile people with some weak-arsed shite like that.
Troll@53 Well we all have some baggage don't we. None more so than John McCain. You yourself have the dark secret, lately exposed, of being Bill O'reilly's fluffer. Stop by more often. We'll be reviewing Johny (Playboy) McCain's history in some detail.
It's no coincidence in my mind that foxnews attacked Obama right after the
big crooksandliars endorsement.[Edited. Strike tag added. It never happened. If you want to continue this line, do it elsewhere. Don't use our bandwidth to lie about us-Sitemonitor]
StCyrlyMe2 @ 60:
Try spell check next time, and I think the primary is in the whole state not just Philly, great representation of the wacky left, keep it up.
Peace
BTW Miss Kitty. Don't know if you caught my previous apology but I'll repeat it. I did not intend to put words in your mouth.
Peter G @ 62:
Good one. Thanks you for confirming my opinions, no facts just attacks, your mom must be proud
I never watched Fox until Chris Matthews started his love affair with The Messiah Obama. Chris has NO CREDIBILITY left. He is a disgrace to what once was a icon of American Broadcasting NBC. Shame on Him. At least Fox as bad as they are are trying to show the real people of the race not some persona actor on the stump. "I've never been proud to be an American in my adult life" Mrs. Obama. First Lady I think Not!!! Put that phrase in context with the church she went to and Rev. Wrights sermons. All those supporters who think he still has a chance I've got a bridge to sell you! You have all been HOODWINKED OKEY_DOKED AND BAMBOOZLED! I used these words to appeal to the crowds that Obamba used these racially charged words for in his speeches.
Well done video!
Troll @ 66:
Well we finally agree on something; your posted comments contain no facts just attacks. I believe you are also correct in your guess that my mother is proud of me and all my numerous siblings. I don't think she knows what a fluffer is but I know she'd recognize the type.
Troll @ 66:
Your mom must be too. I mean, you have the ginormous balls to try to put down someone for doing the very thing you've done.
That's ok. We expect it.
rick bensco @ 67:
I never spent time in the fire until I realized just how hot the frying pan was.
Goodness, did FUX News really report that version of the quote?
Nifty!
Ok, C&L-ers, I have a challenge for you all: Read the above sentence out loud really fast.
Try it. It's fun.
miss_kitty Hussein @ 61:
You can criticize me, but I was in no way criticizing Obama's heritage, I may be a conservative but I am not a racist, we won't agree on anything but I will not be accused of racism, The earlier post said he was black and I only stated the truth that he is of mixed heritage, how you spin that to be negative is beyond belief.
rick bensco @ 67:
This message paid for by the mentally challenged trolls of the RNC. I'm John Mc Lame and I personally approve this ad.
Ron @ 26:
It IS only about Obama.
When a petition is circulated to protest Fox's attacks on Hillary Clinton I'll believe you.
Peter G @ 65:
I caught it, bro. No offense taken. It IS confusing.
Karen @ 71:
Who the hell is Obamba? La Bamba I've heard of.
Troll @ 72:
Spin it all you want, fella.
bmw H. 528 @ 48:
The problem is that hoping and praying are passive activities.
If you were in Iraq right now, wouldn't you rather someone was speaking out daily against the war - pointing out the continuing senseless carnage - proposing and re-proposing legislation? Or would you rather have Reverend Obama telling his flock to hope?
Troll @ 72:
You can criticize miss kitty, but she was in now way accusing you of racism. She may be a progressive, but she is not a racism-accuser, we won't agree on anything but she will not be accused of being a racism-accuser. Your earlier post (for whatever reason) felt the need to point out that Obama was of mixed race, and miss kitty only stated the truth that despite having a white parent, he is still subject to all the bigotries black people face every day, how you spin that to be negative is beyond belief.
Karen @ 79:
Thanks Karen. That's EXACTLY what I wanted to say...
:)
Antidisestablishmentarian @ 78:
Obama has given many a speech disavowing a "passive" kind of hope. Hope, after all, is not merely wishing upon a star (the way praying is). Hope is the desire for something to be true coupled with the belief that it can be true. He explains how, to him, hope is a mindset, something continually pushing him forward.
Obama does speak out daily against the war. And he asks that we not lose hope that we can actually end it. Hope that the war can end is not itself action. But if you have no hope that you can actually bring it to an end, you ensure inaction.
Why can't there be a link where one can simply sign the petition without having to watch a video to do so? I for one don't have the time to sit and let a video download. Anyway, isn't the point supposed to be gathering supporters for a position rather than streaming propaganda?
rick bensco @ 67:
I don't see how anyone who loves or loved Malcolm X can stand to see Obama's sorry-assed impression.
Troll @ 72:
Reminds me of how Fox News "accidentally" calls Republicans Democrats and vice versa then when caught feign ignorance and say "it was just a mistake!"
Sure Troll, we believe you.
miss_kitty Hussein @ 80:
No problem ;)
(Though it is hard to write in that grammar-free, stream-of-unconsciousness style.)
Hawkeye @ 82:
Click pause.
Karen @ 81:
I challenge you.
You say that Obama speaks out daily against the war. Show me anything he has said today. The only thing I hear him refer to is how brilliant he was in 2002.
People who believe in prayer think it is active - as you think hope is.
Has it occurred to you that the American people have been HOPING and PRAYING for an end to this war for 5 years? What we need is political leadership, not more coma inducing bullshit sermons.
Karen @ 86:
Very succinct. Next subject up: the arcane science of copy and paste.
Antidisestablishmentarian @ 87:
Yea, Karen..he also lies.
He basically has the cojones to say "I didn't know Wright had sermons like that"
After 20 years of being a close friend, married by Wright, kids baptized by Wright...Obama was SHOCKED! Just SHOCKED I tell you!
This, after Oprah left the church awhile back because "it was too divisive."
Sorry, Bzzzzzzt! Obama's tripping over his own feet, and the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
Wow... the Freeps come out at night!
Antidisestablishmentarian @ 87:
I think what the poster is saying, is so Obama made a speech TWO WEEKS after the actual vote was made...What ACTION has Obama taken against the Iraq war? I don't care how much he's spoken against it, what ACTION has he taken, aside from 100% identical to HIllary's voting record?
Destardi @ 90:
Small time compared to Hillary tripping over her tax return or Mc Insane tripping over his hundred year war.
Grrrr.....formatting.
Antidisestablishmentarian @ 87:
Ok. He speaks out against the war a lot. Not necessarily daily. You win.
I didn’t say hope itself was active. I said that hope was not the same thing as prayer, and that lack of hope ensures inaction.
You appear to be suggesting that all Obama does is ask us to hope. I’m hardly a big Obama fan, but I don’t think that that’s all he does. And I do think he can be an effective political leader.
By the way, are you actually antidisestablishmentarian?
UhOhChongo @ 91:
Are you speaking about yourself, since you're doing what the neo-cons do, by automatically dismissing someone's opinion because it's not in line with yours?
Cuz last time I looked, a person who is vigorously pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-civil rights, anti-war, is basically still a liberal...WHICH I AM!
You can take that 7 years of self-righteous bitching about Neo-cons, and shrub hating, and direct it on people who have stood alongside you for those 7 years, and now because they disagree on a race-baiting divisive "candidate", dismiss and marginalize our opinions?
Yea, we'll see about that.
Destardi @ 90:
Wait, why are you addressing that to me? I'm always amazed at how much people are able to infer, and how many beliefs that they are willing to impute onto me.
You know something, I think Obama's relationship with his pastor is a legitimate issue. I haven't seen it discussed very intelligently by FUX News or on the news at large, but it's a legitimate issue.
And you're right, I don't buy that Obama had no idea that his pastor made comments like the ones he made until just now. (I'm not sure that that's what Obama said, though.)
Destardi @ 95:
Race baiting divisive candidate, huh? Flamethrow much?
bmw H. 528 @ 93:
Are you KIDDING me?
HIllary and Bill's tax returns have been on file for the last TWENTY YEARS, the same time Obama was sucking up Wright's crap...And nodding his head in agreement, while Wright gives Farrakhan awards.
And uh, hate to break it to ya...but HIllary isn't calling a press conference to speak about her tax returns because they're damaging her campaign.
FOX news isn't running 24/7 coverage of Hillary's "tax return" for 2007.
Joke.
Yes, when they are twisting around people's words and deeds. I call people out on their actions, not what they proclaim they stand for. Race-baiting? Divisive? Obama is all this and more, eh? I need proof please. I haven't seen any proof other than ridiculous claims that he belongs to some type of 'black nationalist' church, which is beyond the pale.
Flame throw..hey, I didn't start this crap...Presenting yourself as "above the fray" and "positive" kinda leads to a great fall..
Walking egos sometimes trip, yea?
http://mediamatters.org/items/200801130004
"Bill Perkins, February 4th: Harlem is not Bill Clinton's Plantation."
Nope, not racist at all..
Where was the outcry for that?
Double-standards, hypocrites, liars.
Not standing for it...y'all might want to check out the number of people posting on Pro-Hillary websites.
When I tried to post on Huffington post, with no curse words, and certainly no "flaming" my comments were not posted.
This is a wakeup call to people like myself who bitched about Bush for the last 5 years...the "establishment dems" are doing the same thing to drown out opinions they'r enot fond of.
Destardi @ 98:
Better check your facts, pal. The latest 8 years tax returns haven't been released yet. You can read what Arianna said about it:
www.huffingtonpost.com/arianna-huffington/on-clintons-tax-returns_b_9188...
And I don't watch Fox News because I detest Soviet style journalism. If you're going to lie, at least do a better job of it than repeat the Clinton talking points word for word.
Destardi @ 100:
Destardi @ 100:
Never saw this. Blame the media for deciding what is and is not important in this case. And who are you calling hypocrites and liars, by the way?
bmw H. 528 @ 101:
What about Mr. Hope now admiting that Tony Rezko raised for him 250,000 dollars in campaign funds?
He had previously said it was only 100,000 dollars. He says one thing today and tommorrow says something completely different.
People please wake up to reality. This guy is definitely not what he claims to be.
Jake @ 104:
Thanks for your concern.
Destardi @ 92:
I don't think that that's what the Antidisestablishmentarian was saying at all.
Since you're saying, though, I agree that his actions in the Senate per the war have been disappointing.
StCyrlyMe2@60
Very well said.
Bravo.
Don't let them have your dreams, man.
On another thread I said:
It's obvious that the people who are getting upset and blowing Rev. Wright's sermons way out of proportion are the very people Rev. Wright speaks of.
I don't care, if for some strange reason, Sen. Obama lets out a Dean whoot. I'm keeping with him.
Go Obama!
Go USA!
Oh yeah hillary looked batshit crazy with that boa clover-leaf scarf around her neck.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What will she wear during Cinco de Mayo?
Oh yeah hillary looked batshit crazy with that bigass boa clover-leaf scarf around her neck.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What will she wear during Cinco de Mayo?
Karen @ 106:
Actually, Karen, Destardi is correct. It is exactly what I am saying.
I can’t see how you can say that Obama has been a political leader since he was elected to the Senate.
It seems to me that you are just hoping he might be more than he is.
Destardi @ 90:
No you are tripping over your lack of common sense and your whining.
I can tell you're not a dem/progressive. Please keep on the right of the aisle. Your type is useless and silly.
Antidisestablishmentarian @ 110:
I didn't say he has been a political leader since his election. I said -- in the post you quoted -- "I agree that his actions in the Senate per the war have been disappointing."
And you might have been trying to focus more on action vs words, but your text focused on action vs. hope, specifically asking me, "wouldn’t you rather someone was speaking out daily against the war . . . "
So, I have agreed with you guys vis-a-vis his legislation. I have disagreed with you vis-a-vis speeches about hope.
Now, instead of surmising what I believe about Obama in general, kindly read what I actually write. And if you have begin to infer something about my beliefs, take a step back, and ask yourself whether you really know what I believe. If you're not sure, ask me. Don't impute beliefs onto me.
I am relevatively new to this blogging thing and probably older than most of you. I apologize if I am not as crisp, brief or cutting.
Fox has been behaving the way they generally behave. The first goal is money. The second goal is more money (read the FCC allowing Mr. Murdoch to own more media in a given area). The third goal is money (read show lots of skin) and the fourth goal is stir up the populace to get more viewers and more money -- helps to be vaguely facist.
The moment I heard Senator Clinton advise her supporters to get information about her from Fox News I knew we were in trouble. I wish her supporters would demand she show a wee bit of transparency, but how can they when they are watching Fox News? Remember that we have had 7 years of secrecy and we cannot afford another 5 (1 more with President Bush). What is so wrong about wanting to see 7 years of tax returns, White House records which document experience claims, earmark requests or donor records? If you think there is something wrong with transparency and disclosure, I think you have been watching Fox News too long. Think about what you want from your government, not just what candidate in which you have invested yourself, but how you want your government to function. If the secrecy of the last 7 years causes you no qualms, I am sorry I bothered you. But then, you probably stopped reading this when you realized I want Senator Clinton to disclose -- I am used to this lack of listening, unfortunately.
I have spent years unable to speak on a wide range of subjects to most of the members of my family because they get their news from Fox, disdain all reputable newspapers and listen to Talk Radio too much. Please be skeptical of anything Fox has to say or we could lose more of our population to this well controlled (deliver what you want to hear) drivel.
As for Reverend Wright, when did my fellow citizens start practicing guilt by association? I was quite surprised to find this on a liberal blog. I am used to hearing this sort of thing in more Republican arenas.
As for nastiness directed at Senator Clinton by Foxs, we haven't seen much of it yet, but should she manage to get the 76% of the superdelegates she would need to clinch the Democratic nomination, get ready because it will be coming and it will be uglier than all Wright all the time. Don't mistake the Fox coverage now, for support in the general. I could be incorrect, but I doubt it. Fox will negatively campaign against the Democratic nominee no matter what his or her name is.
I am not going to vote for Obama. I am not going to have him waste my time listening to him tell me about Race. I just heard he is going to make a speech. He does great when he is the "main" speaker and on stage, but recently he just mumbles and stutters when he is one on one with reporters trying to express himself. He must have learned his oratory skills from Dr. Wright.
I will not waste my time listening to this man. Not with what the public is finally learning about him.
I wonder which news agency is going to broadcast this speech. How much does this air time cost the Obama campaign or is it free?
Welcome to the wacky world of blogging, Kimberly.
I agree that guilt by association is insidious. But I don't think it would be illegitimate to ask Obama precisely about his relationship with his pastor. It shouldn't be off limits.
Questions like, "How will you convince a skeptical public that a man so influential on your life will not be influential on your presidency and policies?" or "Were there times you have disagreed with your pastor in conversations with your church members?" and the like are not unreasonable.
Is anyone else pissed that at the end of this perfectly crafted piece is a damn petition? So, "Pst... Do something." Means give your personal info out to some... thing. You may think I'm paranoid, but personal information is a highly coveted thing. I'd love to know how my personal information topples Fox News. Hey, if it does you can have my blood type and my first born as well.
Maybe not. We'll see.
Joanie @ 114 believe me you will see the corporate controlled main stream media give him all the news coverage he wants tommorrow because he is THEIR chosen Democratic Nominee, the guy they know the GOP will easily beat in a general election.
You know in a way some of you so called progressives act and think like those right nut cases you always cry about. You are intolerant to anybody who has a dissenting opinion. The only important thing that is different however is they are lot smarter than you when it comes to winning a Presidential election.
Do most of them LOVE McCain? Definitely No. However they will "hold their noses" and vote for him regardless because they know he is the Right candidate for them to WIN an election because he appeals to independents and the so called Reagan Democrats.
Hillary has that same kind of appeal and she has proven it in those BIG states that MATTER in winning an general election.
Has BO won any of those states? Not one. If he can't win Ohio Florida, and Pennsylvania NOW, DREAM ON into thinking he is going to win them November.
He is not going to win Idaho, Kansas, Wyoming, Mississippi, Lousiana etc for you in a general election. IMPOSSIBLE.
By the way Mr. Dean and Co at the helm of the Democratic Party, you had better make sure those people who voted in FLORIDA and MICHIGAN HAVE THERE VOTES COUNTED. You will know if it is those PEOPLE'S VOICE or party rules that matter when the Democrats loose big in November.
I am really angry right now because it may seem like we are throwing this election away.
Why did Pat Robertson and Falwell keep contributer jobs on the news despite saying the gays and "an immoral society" caused 9/11 and Katrina, but if a black pastor says bigotry and our ham handed foreign policy (appointing the Shah and Saddam, Iran Contra, leaving Afghanistan after helping the mujadeen, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Vietnam, etc.) led to what the CIA refers to as blowback, he is an un-American crazy person? This is all about bigotry being acceptable if you are white and Christian but questioning foreign policy of teh USA is unnacceptable even though most agree we have committed a series of blunders over the years.
Abby @ 117:
Okay, remember a few months ago when the media essentially crowned Hillary? Said she had a huge lead, everyone wondered how someone could catch up? I kinda seem to remember something along those lines. Obama's momentum really started with Iowa. And I genuinely believe Obama has a better chance at beating McCain than Clinton... why else would Limbaugh and Coulter endorse HER?
Also, what were her margins of victory in the "important" states? Were they huge? What were Obama's numbers? Though he didn't win the popular vote, did he still get more votes than, say, McCain? And do you think that just because he didn't come out on top in the primary he cannot win them in a general election? Democratic primary votes, when combined, far outnumbered the ones on the Republican side. To suggest that because Obama lost some bigger states by narrow margins means that he cannot win them in the general and Clinton automatically would is ludicrous at best.
The media crowned her than pilloried Hillary with being cold, laughing, crying, cleavage etc.
Now it's Obama's turn.
So far all the had was whiffle balls from Hillary.
Now he'll have to face the big monkeys of poo-flinging.
Fuck Bill O,He's mad at the world because his base(folks over 85 years old)are dying in droves and that means that it's only a matter of time before Murdoch&Ailes give this human peice of scum his walking papers, again. This blow hard bag of hot air, has been fired from every job he ever had and fox noise will be no exception! Bye,Bye, Billy boy!!!
I should say big monkeys who use Ex-Lax.
Limpballs=drugs child sex=OReilly= sexual harassment, Pat Robertson = nightly
crazy talk, bigotry, yet here we are in the usual Democrat( how to lose an
electicion mode) yapping about Obama's minister. How's the country doing
since Bush arrived on the scene? Like the war or maybe the economy? Ah,
the hell with that stuff. Let's whine about Obama's minister. We are typical
dumbass Democrats conceding the election to the Republicans again. Nice
going. :-(
I almost prefer Fox. It's like they used to say about the bureaucracy I used to work in: around here, they stab you in the front. But I hope this opens the eyes of some, who have a childish belief in Russert as a "journalist."
And by the way, the knock on Obama has nothing to do with the "important" and "less important" states, as though it's a criticism of them. Obama wins big in caucuses in states that, generally, don't have the slightest chance of going into the Democratic column. Alabama, Mississippi, Kansas: they will be red in the fall, barring an economic catastrophe which would elect any Democrat you can mention. Obama's machine brings out huge numbers, for a caucus, which is possible because he appeals to Blue Dogs, and he knows how the Internet works better than Hillary. And he's a very good campaigner, not taking it away from him. He's won Virginia and Wisconsin, in Democratic primaries. In the general? Well, it's possible, but Hillary's track record in big, primary (most like the general) states where the electoral college impact would be biggest -- those go to Hillary, so far. That's not a knock on Obama. It's just looking hard at the numbers.
Let's take a big state: California. Hillary simply crushed Obama, by more than 10% -- and the late "surge" that pollsters saw didn't exist. Now, if you quote the percentages, you don't realize how big it is: she got hundreds of thousands more voters out to vote for her. Texas, same thing. Ohio, same thing. Big numbers of people show up at the primaries, too. Texas is an especially interesting case. She did get a fair number of Republicans to vote for her there. When Obama does that, the mind-readers among us say that's a good thing. When Hillary does that, it must have been the Limbaugh effect. When she wins in New Hampshire, that the crying effect, or the racist Bradley effect, or the Diebold effect.
And most illustrative: Hillary won the popular vote in Texas, and by 100,000. But she lost the delegate race, because the Obama effect got more people to stay that night and vote in caucuses. He won 40,000 votes or so, to Hillary 30 some thousand, I think it was, and that made him the overall delegate winner.
Is that something to be concerned about as we go to the nomination? I think it is.
Roger Ailes needs to be careful with his demonizing of Clinton. with all the support, fund-raising assistance and money that Rupert Murdoch has given Hillary, Roger may be getting himself in hot water with Murdoch. There is a reason, after all, that Murdoch is supporting Clinton.
God help FOX and News Corp if the FCC is ever restored to integrity.
Jake @ 104:
Wrong again. Obama has been accused of no wrongdoing relative to Rezko. Nothing! Instead, there is a whisper campaign of innuendo and gossip spread by people like you insinuating
something is wrong. It would be like accusing Hillary of wrongdoing because they haven't released their tax returns. Releasing the tax return is the right thing to do but not illegal if they choose not to.
Your definition of reality about Obama is subjective and your opinion is noted, but that does not make it fact. Big difference.
progressives can stop this kind of shit if they push for and get a new Fairness Doctrine. the talk radio monopoly is going to do the groundwork for the swiftboating of Obama.
defending Obama may be easier if it is done at the local talk radio station level with signs and boycotts.
Fox TV news relies heavily on the talk radio monopoly to do the heavy lifting of uncontested repetition for them earlier in the day or week. whatever we see on fox tv gets prechewed on talk radio 24/7 to much larger audience. most fox TV audience goes there for a visual reinforcement of the talk radio propaganda earlier in the day.
Peter G @ 88:
gigalulz!
Destardi @ 98:
Hillary's tax returns and Obama's pastor's personal opinions share one characteristic: neither is relevant to the campaign.
Kimberly @ 113:
actually their first priority is GOP propaganda and putting an image to their workhorse- talk radio. fox news was heavily subsidized for years, as was limbaugh. their benefactors would gladly subsidize them for a few billion to get the trillions in tax breaks and war profits they have been so instrumental in providing.
Kimberly @ 113:
PS i liked the rest of your comment.
Anonymous Source @ 119:
Continue Dreaming! Don't wake up to REALITY SOONEST especially more so after all this Wright debacle is playing itself out in the country.
His giving a SPEECH on race right now and it's going to WISH all his problems away...Yeah Right.
Old Billy Hussein @ 5:
What's so amazing is their BLATANT non stop attack on Obama , from talk show host to talk show host and still pretending to be " fair and balanced " . Fox is a VIRUS to truth and knowledge , and MSNBC (david Gregory ) and CNN , are doing the same damn thing , just in a different package . Hypocritical , non-stop talk , filled with loaded questions and while all cable , (almost said NEWS, lol) while all of the Cable Cesspool regurgitate , the same tired story about Obama, "why doesn't he do this, why doesn't he do that , how will this hurt him " . pouring gas over this issue is nothing more then trying to bring down Barrack Obama .
But LEAVE John McSame alone and don't make reveal HIS close connection to Haggee .
Get your news from the internet , turn off cable because there is no NEWS on Cable !
