Obviously, the big news of the day: Barack Busted for FWR — Flying While Running (for President)

If God destroyed New Orleans for a 'sexed up Gay Pride parade', why didn't he wipe out Key West.
Or didn't he have the balls to do it?

Ha! Classic!
Mike Malloy has proven what a weak kneed lukewarm liberal he is and said he supports a McWars presidency, if "a democratic congress makes him twist in the wind". I've deleted his radio show's bookmark. I am through with democratic defeatists who give up when a meaningless poll shows McLame up one day, and down the next.
That kind of talk got that guy in the video killed. Didn't it?
I further believe in an America that is niether black nor white, nor yellow or red.
Not Democrat, but democratic. Not Republican, but a republic.
Not Corporate but much rather a community of people seeking to better us all, leaving noone behind to suffer the slings and arrows because they are different or unpopular.
I believe, rather in an America who stands up for our weakest in the effort to make them the strongest. An America who does not fear those it has offended in the past because of its efforts in the present to make amends, build bridges and offer hope.

CheneyEx-Aide 'Scooter' Libby Disbarred
Vice President's Former Chief of Staff Convicted of Lying to Investigators in Plame Case
Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, was disbarred today by a District of Columbia court that ruled that his convictions last year for perjury and obstructing justice in a White House leak investigation disqualify him from practicing law.
......snip ....
Libby's disbarment is effective as of June 12, 2007, when he first filed a declaration saying he would voluntarily comply with the court's rules on professional ethics for lawyers. Libby, 57, could seek reinstatement to the bar five years from that date, in June 2012.
Last July, a federal judge sentenced Libby to 30 months in jail. President Bush commuted the sentence, calling it "excessive."
truly amazing that c&l didnt mark the passing of roland arnall
you guys remember him, founder of ameriquest, and ambassador to the netherlands
roland became a billionaire thanks to the lack of oversight in the mortgage biz
i have known roland since i was a teen, having gone to school with his son
roland did some nice things for friends of mine, helping some out in biz....but overall, he was an sob
one should never say not nice things about a fellow jew after he/she passes....but i think for roland, we can make an exception
he stole from many....too many, and royally effed over his first wife
i hope he left his kids something

Pass the buckets! and Keep bailing, cause the Obama boat is sinking fast!
Obama is not getting my support because of where he stands on two top issues. Ending The Iraq War and Universal Healthcare.
Obama's top foreign affairs advisor, Samantha Power said that his 16 month withdrawl plan was just a "best case scenario" and that it's just something he's saying as candidate for president. What? That sounds more like McCain's plan. We could still be in Iraq for years if Obama gets in office. I think she was fired for telling us what they discuss in private about Iraq and not the "monster" comment. Listen for yourself what they are planning.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yzy3lObigF0
In regards to Heathcare, Obama has plenty of negatives to tell you about Clinton's plan to distract you from the fact that there is "No Chance" we will see Universal Heathcare under his plan.

then look back to the 90s and how bill's agenda paved the way for bush to come into office

Four State Pledge Letter 2008
Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina
August 31, 2007
WHEREAS, Over a year ago, the Democratic National Committee established a
2008 nominating calendar;
WHEREAS, this calendar honors the racial, ethnic, economic and geographic
diversity of our party and our country;
WHEREAS, the DNC also honored the traditional role of retail politics early in the
nominating process, to insure that money alone will not determine our
presidential nominee;
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Presidential campaigns, the DNC, the states and
the American people to bring finality, predictability and common sense to the
nominating calendar.
THEREFORE, I _______________, Democratic Candidate for President, pledge
I shall not campaign or participate in any state which schedules a presidential
election primary or caucus before Feb. 5, 2008, except for the states of Iowa,
Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina, as “campaigning” is defined by
rules and regulations of the DNC.
Sept. 1, 2007
Clinton Campaign Statement on the Four State Pledge
The following is a statement by Clinton Campaign Manager Patti Solis Doyle.
"We believe Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina play a unique and special role in the nominating process.
And we believe the DNC’s rules and its calendar provide the necessary structure to respect and honor that role.
Thus, we will be signing the pledge to adhere to the DNC approved nominating calendar."
Clinton's strategy can be summed up as Rule or Ruin. What I like to know is where the hell are Edwards, Richardson, Dodd- the whole lot of them? They ALL signed that agreement along with Clinton, but now ALL sit back in silence, and permit her to grandstand unchallenged in a twisted pursuit of power-- the party's chances in either state come November be damned.

Yes, thank you for this much needed, very apropos blast from the past.
How quickly they forget.
Great orators become great presidents (most of the time).
Time for the Dems to realize that THIS is Republican tactics. Both Hillary and Obama have done questionable things but it time to oust the Neocons come hell or high water.
Republicans are gaming our blogs pretending to be Hillary supports to say the most obnoxious, insulting and divisive things to Obama supporters OR pretending to be Obama supporters to say the most obnoxious, insulting and divisive things to Hillary supporters - so no matter who our nominee is 1/2 of the party will be so disgusted they won’t come out to vote
(they done the same thing with robo calling pretending to be the democratic candidate and if the person hangs up the computer keeps calling)
Or they will act like Tokyo Rose and tell us our party is falling apart.
Don’t bite, don’t play… and encourage others to ignore them too
on this and every progressive blog.
Don't know if this was mentioned, but one of those fired contractors who breached the security of Obama's passport files used to be an ambassador for Pres Clinton.
I'm just sayin....
#31 Long Tooth,
John Edwards is on Leno right now.
ezpz @ 35:
Everything is Clintons fault. "It's Clintons Fault!" used to be the wing nut primal scream. Still is actually.
ezpz@35, yeah, I saw that on Olbermann earlier tonight. I think it'll be picked up and run with later since nobody is really buying that it was just random curiousity on anyone's part. I'm not ready to get out a tinfoil hat and point a finger at Clinton but a lot of people were pointing one at Bush so the point might have to go that direction eventually.
clytemnestra hussein orestia @ 34:
I've noticed.

I'm going to paraphrase something I heard today on "To the Point". A politician who has served in the military doesn't need to wear his patriotism on his lapel. It is so true.
The quickest way to spot the Repubs that are gaming the blogs is to ask them who they support for the nomination and why they support them. The ones that are gaming have no answer for either question.
clytemnestra@34 If you're the same clytemnestra that writes at Kos, I liked your diary on the Swift Kids back in Jan. I was glad to see that issue getting some attention since a lot of people missed it.
Roark77 Hussein @ 38:
I don't want to do the conspiracy thing either, but I have to say that my first instinct was Clinton camp. Of course I'd like to give the Clintons the benefit of the doubt, but that's one big kitchen sink there.
They didn't deny circulating that picture of Obama in garb to Drudge.
Where did that picture come from?
You know, the similarities between JFK and Obama, and between LBJ and Clinton are actually quite striking. Seriously.

But their dirty campaign tactics have so turned me off to them and their chronic victim status, that I just can't get the luv back and I would put nothing past them.
The more I know, the less I like or trust them.
Period.
I said God damn America when that giggling murderer Bush was given the keys to the White House.

A majority of the Clinton supporters reject Obama because of where he stands on the issues. Stop the race baiting.
Looking back on the 90's I see a strong economy and a record surplus. That paved the way for Bush? Get real!
Gore won and didn't stay in the fight for his presidency, that's what paved the way for Bush.
McCain will look even more like the feeble old man that he is against Hillary and she will send him off to the warmongers retirement home where he belongs.
The Dems will win landslide victories across the board from the first woman president, congress, governers, mayors and dog catchers.
ezpz @ 35:

Which one was the troll? I might have missed the comment
mudshark@48 It's being reported that one of the fired State Department contractors was a Clinton administration holdover. There will be a lot of play on this tomorrow since it was only coming out at about 8/9pm tonight.
http://www.attytood.com/2008/03/who_would_do_such_a_thing.html
With all the finger pointing at Bush that's been going on over this scandal, a fired employee with ties to Clinton is going to raise a lot of eyebrows. Especially since this is the very early tip of the iceberg on this story.
Brian@49 I'd say that jsparrow stuff bringing up fairly old news related to Samantha Powers is a bit 'o trolling. That and the finger pointing on race baiting tend to lead me to that conclusion.
ah, yes, I am and that was embarassing. I took it as a real story when it came out over the HuffPo RSS NEWS FEED.
I was so disgusted with the fact that it would go out on the news news feed, since it was satire, I discontinued getting anything from HuffPo -- I wasn't the only one either
But I think with a few new posts, like the one I did yesterday, I have redeemed myself: I cried from my bed, "Tuskegee!"
In fact my diary on 1-800-Suicide made the rec list
there are only one or two on this list worth listening to or
discussing with. the rest are just a bunch of self-important
verbose wind bags who spread the same pundit garbage

mudshark @ 48:
Hi Mudshark,
I have no proof, nor did I accuse. I simply expressed my feelings and hunches based on my observations.
Again, I did not accuse. I just wouldn't be surprised.
Some things are just coincidence and some are not.
Maura Harty is not just some low level state dept employee/contractor who should be *just* peeking into Obama's passport files out of boredom or idle curiosity.
Yes, that's how the State Dept has tried to make light of this and dismiss it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maura_Harty
Roark77 Hussein @ 50:
if I ever get in trouble,
I hope your not on the jury.If that's all you have to go on..........sad,very,very sad
dadams@53 So instead of actually doing any kind of real debate yourself, you simply post a complaint that there's a lack of anything but verbose windbags?
You do realize you just became exactly what you were complaining about. I'm assuming that irony is in your bag of tricks.
but hey.if The Clintons turn out to be involved in this in any way shape or form....I'll be the first to condemn them for it.
Well he didn't have to prove he was patriotic. He fought in a war and almost died His older brother fought in a war and did die. It was a different time it was a given that you loved your country and wer willing to defend it..I'm not sure but I can fell pretty confident that Kennedy never went to a sermon where the Priest was ranting and yelling "GOD DAMN AMERICA GOD DAMN AMERICA" ....Just a hunch.
From an atypical white guy who isn't afraid of strangers walking down the street especially if they are black!
I won't be watching the unwatchable joe scarborough, but I betcha he'll find a way to tie this into Reverand Wright and black anger.
hi yall... uhh... its the comony stoopid?
Roark77 Hussein @ 57:
ok so read more carefully. not a complaint an opinion.
this evening is for reading and hopefully i will find
someone to enlist in conversation, but not you.
end of line.
mudshark@56 I wouldn't convinct anyone on that either. That's thin. But after reading through the threads below on the passport business, I saw a ton of finger pointing at Bush and his administration for no real reason. It's also a story that just began and if there is any dirt there it's going to get ugly in a hurry, especially if either of the other two contractors share similar ties.
Before you start with your "sad, very sad" rhetoric, perhaps you ought to actually look at what I said. I simply pointed out that there is a connection that's going to be investigated ad nausem over the next few days. I personally think there are only two explanations for the breaches - either they were this innocent act that the administration is pushing or they were done deliberately and with reason. I personally think it's too early to answer that question.
This story is going to likely dominate the MSM and the blogs over the next few days and I don't think there's enough to finger point about yet. But I honestly don't think it's too far from the dirty tricks bag that's been dipped into lately. Not at all.

When you read comments like this from Uncle Joe it's not hard to call it what it is...race baiting. I'll say it again Stop the race baiting.
I also think my point was made clearly by listening to the words of a Obama supporter Samantha Powers on where Barack "really stands" on bringing the troops home from Iraq.
mudshark @ 67:
mudshark, it was being reported. Keith Olbermann was the first person I saw to mention the Clinton ties with the fired contractor. It was also on talk radio a bit ago. I can't link to either of those since they're not the written word, thus the link to someone's blog. So saying "it's been reported" is accurate and factual.
clytemnestra@52 Was there ever any update on the 1-800-SUICIDE situation?
jsparrow@66 The problem with both diehard Obama and diehard Clinton supporters is that the idea of them taking their ball and going home if their candidate fails is absurd. The rabidly obnoxious supporters of both sides need to shut up and take a vacation until the primaries are over. Then they need to come back and vote to keep from having four more years of Bush in McBush. I support Obama and still feel he's the best candidate but I certainly would vote for Clinton in November if she's the candidate.
Remember - NO POTUS = NO SCOTUS
I can't believe what I just heard Anderson stupor say to an Obama spokesman:
Anderson Cooper (paraphrase): 'I don't want to be cynical, BUT doesn't talking about this (instead of Wright) benefit your campaign?'

Regarding the video, how times have changed. Other than the fact that the south had segregation everywhere, I was lucky to be raised with no prejudice though my father was raised in the south and I was raised in the north. My father said once, "My best friend was a black boy, and when I got in my teens, I was told I should not spend any more time with him." Within a few short years my father left Arkansas and the only time that I can recall that he ever went back was when his father died. My father was a southerner, but he was an honorable man.

kennedy had to make a speech stating that the pope would not be telling him how to run the country....no one cared that he drove a pt boat, as most had relatives who served in both ww2 and korea
amazing how times have changed....now priests are excommunicating pols who are pro choice...and no one blinks an eye
sure kennedy didnt go to a church where the priest said goddamn america....joe kennedy made his bones by ripping off both black and white america...the kennedy's loved america and their blood money
stop proving that the electorate is a bunch of ignorant racist yahoos....you embarrass yourself
Obama needs to keep fighting back against lame attacks against his patriotism.it is his biggest issue with the blind limbaugh, fox and cnn fed masses.
He needs an add featuring squeaky clean white supporters of reknown with working class cred voicing support for him. Vicky eisenhower, daughter and scion of Dwight's line and a repuber is supporting him. so is lincoln Chafee one of the few or only repubs who voted against the war....
he needs a slew of people like this... respectable and thoughtful people to appear in an ad for him and voice their support openly... so those nitwits who cannot think for themselves will see who the choice of the thoughtful and informed is. and maybe then we can put these non-patriot, black panther, manchurian muslim demons to bed.

The passport thing is just going to end up being major incompetence on the Bush administration but it would be pretty neat if it ended up being some kind of McCain'ian version of Watergate. I'd love to see BillO spin that.

No, I think you got your facts a bit garbled, here's what Attytood had to say:
1) The office that handles passports, consular affairs, is indeed run by a woman named Maura Harty, who's a....wait for it -- Clinton administration holdover. Remember, no one has implicated her or any State Department employees -- the two people who were fired were contract workers.
Oh, and here's the Attytood link.
More news for China, this time in the form of earthquakes. Doesn't look too bad but a 7.2 is still fairly newsworthy.

James D. Milne @ 15:
Perhaps Bobby more so.
StirFry @ 105:
Hi Wokman!
Agree we're getting a lot of young provocateur trolls - seem kinda college agey for the most part.
Thanks for sticking around, Ron! Let's see if we can have some fun...lol
;-}
Proud2bHumble Hus(in)sein @ 100:
I wouldn't worry too much about going to Alaska. I've been there a few times. Admiralty Island may just be the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Where there's smoke, well you know...
jsparrow @ 21:
That's fine, man. You vote for whoever you want to vote for.
I'm much more concerned about this prying into a presidential candidate's personal information--any candidate. Today it's Obama, but tomorrow it could be Clinton, or me, or you. Hell, maybe it already has been. How would we know? I'm an Obama supporter, but I don't believe Clinton would do this, given what was done to Bill Clinton in '92. Something is really fishy here. Keep your eye on the ball.
Proud2bHumble Hus(in)sein @ 109:
May I offer to be your gun bearer or loader. I'd offer to be your beater but you know where that would wind up.
2b and Peter G, I hear it's beautiful country and I don't mind the cold. I just wasn't expecting it. I'll take snow over sand any day though.
Hey 2b and everybody
More troll come out during school breaks.
Ron @ 107:
:) i have my moments, but i agree, you and Leslie spread the truth tonight..like butter, baby.
L.A. Confidential @ 33:
Agreed. If, in fact, the Neocons are behind this, it will go a long way toward "reunification." My question is, who is this unnamed "contractor"?

I hope that doesn't mean you are al qaeda and are going to invade us from Alaska. Just kidding, I spent a year up there in SE.
Peter G @ 113:
How 'bout we go trolling, and I'll be your baiter. I've been told innumerable times that I'm a master at it...
Proud2bHumble Hus(in)sein @ 109:
sup 2b! Yeah, I've been noticing better spelling, more breathing through the nostrils, complete sentences ,etc. They gotta be pro.
They still get stomped anyways. You know xoites, he hungers for troll blood.
I wonder how many here remember JFK personally and not just from history class. I remember the end of that era with a very vivid sadness. I remember coming home from grade school to find my mother crying in front of the TV. She explained that the President had been shot. When I asked her who shot our President she explained that he wasn't our President but he was our leader. I'm not sure I appreciated the distinction at the time.
Roark77 Hussein @ 114:
Can you give a somewhat more specific location, legally?
tHeGaMeHusseinOfLiFe @ 115:
Log Cabin repubelitrolls adding to their ranks?

Just don't trying it on me.
Ron@118 I thought we keep bases in Alaska to keep an eye on those shifty Canucks. They're just dying to come down and steal our booming economy and healthcare system. Actually, I do public affairs type things for Uncle Sam. I even did a stint with the AFN while I was in Korea but that was worse then teaching freshmen when I was in grad school.
StirFry, on really quiet nights you can hear xoites sharpening his knives for when trolls come a calling.
StirFry @ 120:
They're probably lonely contardianfucknut bloggers - nobody's goin' to their sorry boring little rags, so they've gotta come over here to try to sway the lurking swingers.
Peter G @ 121:
Before my time, but I know my parents (particularly my mom) really get choked up about it even today. I remember it seemed like a very traumatic experience for them.
James D. Milne@15
I believe this man is more missed today than at any time since his death.

Geez!

Don't worry buddy, doubt if I'd have a minute to spare, lol!

Hey, I can sharpen Knives so good you could shave with one.
2b@122 Yep, it's looking like Richardson which is near Anchorage. I'll find out for sure soon enough. Anchorage looks nice enough.
Yeah Roark77, xoites uses knives , no firearms. He's a badass motherfucker...it even says so on his wallet.
Roark77 Hussein @ 125:
Ha we're shape shifters, indistinguishable from Americans. You'll never stop our insidious invasion. Unless,of course, you ask us why we're oot and aboot. Damn that was supposed to be our secret sign.
2b@126, those damn swingers. Pick a lane and go!
Roark77 Hussein @ 125:
Unless you're blind with no sense of smell, you're in for some very pleasant surprises. I went to high school + 8 more years in Alaska, and moved to Hawaii to thaw out and meet some girls. I've lived in California and a few other states too. Alaska is by far the most beautiful place I've ever been, with air that tastes like pure oxygen and a sense of unspoiled nature that will blow you away. Half my family is still there. Sorry if your posting takes you away from friends and loved ones, though.
Peter G @ 133:
Kinda bloo that one, eh hoser?
Proud2bHumble Hus(in)sein @ 136:
Keep it quiet and there's a bag of daysolds (with sprinkles) and it's got your name on it.
Peter G @ 133:
That's Okay Peter G. We know you'd know better than to jump off the Peter Mans Bridge...Most of us Yanks would go for it.

I was in California near Santa Cruz in the 70s and the girls were prettier than the girls I met in Alaska, but they will get prettier as the night progreeses.
garcia @ 128:
Absolutely!! You see the kind of ugly old fistfucking buttpirates the pol groupies have to fuck now? Missed more than ever, I'd say...
Peter G, I thought you guys all said "eh" at the end of everything. Like the guys in Strange Brew. Don't tell me the stereotypes are wrong!
2b, you sold me on it just by pointing out that the air tastes like pure oxygen. That would be a refreshing change. I don't mind the travel at all, I was actually shooting for Germany.
Peter G @ 137:
(Queen Mum's the word, then.)
Roark77 Hussein @ 141:
Plus the extended daylight in the summer is cool. And the extended nightlife in winter will keep you topped off with plenty of antifreeze...lol ;-}
According to MSNBC.com (msnbc-tv) , state troopers in South Carolina are ramming their cars into suspects and loving it.
...sick shit.

I thought that they had to pass some kind of an IQ test. It must be the same as the one they give to a candidate for president.
Roark77 Hussein @ 141:
The difference in air quality as you go north is really quite astounding. You also get to like seeing far. I'm heading north to Diavik in the NWT very shortly. It has all the cold but none of those pretty mountains.
New evidence comes to light that Hillary Clinton has been lying about her stance on NAFTA:
"Clinton Lie Kills Her Credibiity on Trade Policy"
An NYC crane inspector wasn't doing his job.
Good night people.

I think it goes with the new caveman standards that regular cops seem to need to meet now. Maybe it's just me but I keep seeing a lot of a certain type of cop - muscled to the point that they can't put their arms down, wear a uniform shirt a size too small to show off, shaved heads, and a constant hard stare. Maybe they're cloning them somewhere.
