Chris Matthews Slams Rush Limbaugh in "Keith-Style Special Comment"
Despite all his faults, Chris Matthews showed his true patriotic colors Tuesday night and absolutely blasted Rush Limbaugh for abusing the American Democratic system with the intent of causing mischief.

"I have to offer a 'Keith-style' Special Comment on that. Anyone who voted to screw up the political system of this country with the purpose of mischief should carry that with them the rest of their lives. What a ridiculous way to use the vote for which people fought and died -- to use that vote to make mischief. I hope you're proud of yourself."
Amen, Tweety. Amen.

Foist! Ya bastages!
About time, Chris. Better late than never. Thanks.
And for crying out loud! Isn't what rashbo did called electioneering? if so, ain't that just a weeee bit ILLEGAL???
Limbaugh has turned his whole show into this idea of somehow enacting revenge on the democrats. Good for Matthews. Too bad Matthews still sucks.
Once in a while, Chris rises up in righteous indignation and nails it. This is one of those times.
I don't care if it was 11 dittoheads or 11,000. It's called tampering with a federal election, and it's a felony. It might even constitute other crimes, since it was done via his broadcast.
Rush ought to be indicted. Proof? Check out the new registrations and see if they switched parties.
That Tweety,..................such a Sweety! Not!
Kudos to Matthews, but for a bit of context, he also could've mentioned the ultimate election fiasco of 2000 -- also known as American Lie
woot! chris matthews almost saved his soul! but not quite.
Funny, I thought that the big NYT article would have pushed him toward the right...huh.
a little late to the party Chris, after licking Bush's boots for 8 years, but still- welcome to the light.
Broken clock is right twice a day... he's still one of the biggest buttnuts on Teevee right now.
We have to look at this guy again? Give it up time for a format change.
Nothing is new here--Bush wants the Clintons in again--so his ass is covered. Rushballs is also wanting Hillary as President, cause she ain't a true democrat. If she gets elected--America will be the laughing stock of the world. Hillary is a Israel firster, little does she care for us low lifers.
Recall,backwhen--they could not qualify for a mortgage and had to get a co-signer for their home,Yaah!--copuldn't afford it--my Ass!
This month she give her campaign $6.5 million on top of the $5 million
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton loaned her campaign $6.4 million from her own pocket in the past month, a campaign source said on Wednesday.
The personal loan, the second she has made to her campaign, comes as Clinton struggles to stay in the grueling Democratic race against rival Barack Obama, who beat her in a North Carolina nominating contest on Tuesday. Clinton narrowly edged out Obama in Indiana.
(Writing by John Whitesides)
Yes, how dare Kos do that in Michigan!
He was talking about Kos, right?
credit is due.
Shadowgm Hussein @ 6:
I agree! I think that there should be an election fraud investigation against Rush Limabugh.
Tweety's our "bread and butter".
The only way the right wing will defeat Obama is through some crazy manufactured scandal or voting manipulation. Hillary's failed right wing bullshit only served to help prepare Obama for the fall. The primary is over. Obama '08.
Could it be that Matthews knows the way the wind is blowing? He, himself stated he is going to run for office in 2012. The Republican name is tarnished, so he better stay on the ball.
Oh Tweety what would we do without Thee?
Let me count the things.
It certainly wasn't Keith-Style in my opinion. Keith would have gone to much greater lengths to keep Limbaughs name in front of the comment and certainly would have brought in the "un-patriotic" words to add to the comment.
But I guess any dissing of this act of electoral maneuvering by a Radio personality is good.
Chris deserves some little props for saying this.
Where is the righteous indignation from Rodham? She was, after all, the beneficiary of Limpdick's pathetic minions.
Troll fight on the tube now?
I'm still waiting for them to put the bare boobs into the boob tube news.
P.D. @ 19:
Anyone and everyone is fair game now. Nothing to do with ethics just status and paychecks.
I hate to play devils advocate here but these elections are not the ones that "people fought and died for." This is an exercise created by the national party system and are NOT constitutionally mandated or required. The parties are allowed to pick their nominee however they choose. And if the party has made that process open to shenanigans ... I think it is naive to think that this hasn't happened before on both sides, and to give a blood and guts wrapped in the flag response to this is uncalled for and ignorant.
..."to make mischief."
Mischief? Mischief? Are you fucking kidding me? What that fat piece-o-shit did was straight AGAINST THE LAW!
Screw you tweety.
That's just funny.
It wouldn't surprise me if these guys are so twisted they actually agree to make it look to the public like they are now going after each other.
Okay Rush, I'll go after you, then you counter me after, then, uh oh waitress bring us a couple more beers.
Oil set yet more record highs on Wednesday even after a large increase in U.S. crude inventories as concerns over global supplies continued to linger.
L.A. Confidential @ 30:
We're being turned into England.
Do you think Rush is crying now that his Operation Chaos has been rendered ineffective? Most people who switched from Repug to Demo said they lost faith in their party. I think Rush is reaching for the Oxy-conton.
BeeSting @ 26:
In open primary states like Texas, it's not against the law, unless they try to vote in both primaries. You can cross party lines, but not vote twice (except you are allowed to vote twice within one party by one vote at the primary and a second vote at the caucus.)
What a cynical bastard Rush had to be to encourage this. And clearly his followers care nothing for this country. Well said Matthews.
Yes, the left did it too.
America did not choose the fighter and gas prices will rise.
I commend this blog for staying neutral in the long ridiculous process the dems call an election.
You get what you vote for and the one who would fight for change is gone.
I think it will get much worse, you are on your own and think this blog will be very busy when the dems unite with gop for corporate interests and let us all down as usual.
L.A. Confidential @ 31:
Good, we'll talk better.
And yet another country will kick Simon Cowell out.
Oxycontin-baugh is blowhard, lightweight moron, listened to by a bunch of droids that never had an original thought in their entire lives.
And somewhere, as Tweety was saying this...
Satan was ice skating.
Holy crap! Matthews did his job!!! ALERT THE PRESS!!!
One would be hard pressed to find a more schizophrenic commentator than Chris Matthews. Honestly, I just don't know what to make of this guy. On one hand his bizarre, misogynistic on air comments (together with his disgusting on air man crush on Bush, Fred Thompson, John McCrazy) makes him your typical reichwing media stooge, but then, every now and then (like this comment) he really does tell it like it is. I still don't like the guy, but this was pretty cool.
I have to say he should have also blasted the Clintons. When Rush Limbaugh still makes reference to Vince Foster and the Clintons "murdering" him, then Bill Clinton still goes on his show to campaign for his wife, then I have to think that the Clinton campaign is ok with "Operation Chaos". I've met some of the dittoheads who are doing this crap and they have no intention of voting for her in the fall anyway, so why do they find it acceptable for them to use these idiots to win?
Rush is horrible for doing what he's doing, but the Clintons have apparently embraced this approach, so they are almost as bad.
i missed this, buti just remembered something else ...
last night, tweety kept bringing up lessons that barack learned from hillary...
W T F ???
i think i saw a very slight smirk on brokaw when tweety asked him about it, but
other than that, though no one seemed to agree with him, no one called out that silly notion either... well, maybe timmy agreed with him, in a way...
i just thought it was ridiculous... really grasping at straws there...
and what's with timmy saying barack should pay off hillary's debt???
HUH???
Why shouldn't Rush be proud of himself ? Here's a fat, dishonest, flaccid, painfully unfunny drug addict who's transformed his only talent, high-speed disinformation, into a multi-million dollar empire . And as long as his "friends" are in power, there's not a damn thing that's going to happen to him . Enjoy the sun, Mr. Cellulite. Winter's coming in November.
P.D. @ 32:
I truly doubt it.
I do believe that people are crossing over and voting Democrat because as Newtie and others have said about their own party, the Repuglican brand is damaged goods.
The pederast Lush Limpballs is trying to explain or spin this exodus as the faithful heeding his message. I say they are "rush"ing to get out of the toilet that is the repunk party and avoid the overflow so as not to get any more of their shit on them. It's rats deserting a sinking ship, and as long as they vote Democrat this November, we'll rescue them.
No matter how much the child molesting, Viagra eating, hillbilly heroin using, gleeking bladder of vitriolic piss, and god loving evangelical cocksucking moralizer, racist, homophobe traitor, exudes his pompous ideological pustules of repug values, people see through his vacuous transparent flailing of a drowning man and philosophy. People are fleeing the burning building, not crossing over because of what a self important piece of overgrown oozing piloidial cyst has to say. The Republican brand is damaged goods.
What has Limpballs been saying this morning?
Gee, so I guess Obama and all his pleas for folks to reregister and become Dems for a day means HE'S in the same league as ol limpwithnoballs huh? Pretty august company there mr. Hopechangey. And you say ol limpwithnoballs committed CRIMES, ELECTION FRAUD! Gee, being the cleaner then the new fallen snow, new politics, politics of HOPE and CHANGE Mr. Hopeychangey will turn himself in and plead guilty.
Oh come on! Like voting actually counts for anything...anymore...
This bloody system is rigged and broken -- anyone who really believes that there are actually choices in national elections are drinking the so-called two party cool-aid. I think Limpballs actions may in fact be the most honest depiction of the farce that is American presidential politics -- he showed that no matter what party you side with, voting for any of the corp-rats makes no difference.
This election was decided four years ago. The drama of the DemocRAT primaries was designed to be the national soap opera that would keep Americans interested and on the edge of their seats. The corporate state is playing the public like a fiddle -- and stories like this are humming right along.

Liberals Can't Seem to Figure Out Operation Chaos and This Program
Cismontane @ 5:
That's about all you can say in times like these. Good on him today, but tomorrow he may need to be 'blasted' himself!
Overall however, Chris Matthews has helped in the destruction of America.
His deliberate continuing immoral behavior concerning journalism should certainly put him in the hall of shame along with Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Katie Couric, Paula Zahn, Wolf Blitzer, Andrea "True Connection" Mitchell, and Chris Wallace.
So now Tweety's upset with Rush for telling people to vote for Clinton? Why did Tweety remain silent through the active campaign, "Democrat for a Day", which was launched by the Axelrod team telling Republicans to register in open primaries and caucuses to vote against Clinton?
Hell, an Obama operative was caught red-handed peddling this garbage in NV, but Tweety remained silent. Tweety's trying desperately to regain some credibility.
Good luck with that.
Am I missing something? Wasn't it a little while ago that people were trying to mess with the political system in Michigan? People trying to have "fun" in Michigan and vote for Mitt Romney? Remember this:
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/1/10/2713/87225
Sounds kind of hypocritical to me to point this Rush Dimbaugh thing out yet neglect the former.
This back and forth thing on both sides is childish. That's all I got to say.
Not that I'm holdin my breath for the scumbucket to do the HONEST thing for the first time in his life!
Wow. Very nicely said.
Tweety finally said something worth listening to?
liberalHUSSEINmoderation @ 3:
I'm no lawyer but I can't see how suggesting people break the law is the same as breaking it. As far as I know I can suggest to you to rob a convenience store. If you do it, you broke the law.
That's the great thing about giving people advice. If you take it then you do what I want and I walk away clean regardless of what happens to you. Then I get to tell you that you're stupid for listening to me.
But none of that means that Rush isn't a piece of shit which he clearly is.
liberalista @ 52:
Tweety just performs what his producers and writers tell him to perform.
L.A. Confidential @ 31:
I, personally, am turning Japanese! I really think soooo!
Limbaugh reminds me of that meek, uncertain, abused character named Butters on South Park, when he tries to wreak havoc as "Captain Chaos."
Pol Pot-O-Cheesesauce @ 44:
Ok, so I just want to be clear: you're not a fan of Rush...
liberalHUSSEINmoderation @ 58:
I'm ready to head out into the desert. And hopefully return in some kind of a transformed state of being.
This is why Matthews hooks me in now and then with these moments of clarity. Still, they aren't often enough to counteract his talking points meme, and his hero worship of fools like Bush and Tom DeLay.
goat hussein sage @ 22:
She just sat back and let that shit happen. Same with the phony Rev. Wright fiasco, the "bitter" bullshit, Michelle Obama's comments, etc. She just wants to win, fuck everything else. The fact that Hillary keeps saying that she won Michigan when she knows Obama wasn't on the ballot, exposes her again as a liar. And she then has the temerity to blame FL. and Mich. on Obama! That gas "holiday was just another insult to common sense. She deserved to be rejected.
Pol Pot-O-Cheesesauce @ 44:
And just who was it who was responsible for selling the defective goods in the first place?
People like Newt. Networks like FOX. Idiots like Cyst-Boy.
These fucking leeches will reinvent themselves and resurface in eight years.
Holy crap! Tweety got CLAWS! Wow... I've never seen him say anything so right on.
Now LA don't despair, apparently the GOPers are totally freaking out. The lost the special election, the have no money, and the Latinos are leaving them in droves. At this point, I'm trying to be positive. But it's tough.
Using a vote to make mischief?
Like voting to recall the Governor of California, and putting a bodybuilding movie star in his place? (Only because he beat Gary Coleman and a host of wierdos and porn stars to get there).
Or voting to put a professional wrestler into the Governor's mansion in Minnesota.
Or voting for a President who you would like to drink a beer with instead of the guy who is boring?
Chris-- good luck with your special comment.
repost from TP earlier:
about the rush-bots following their dear leader’s orders -
yesterday randi rhodes was talking about this and contends that he is doing that
as a coverup for the mass exodus of republicans from the party vote…
there WERE a great many repubs who voted for OBAMA, after all…
but, it’s probably not a stretch to say that those who voted for their favorite
gal-to-hate were following limpball’s orders…
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Kudos.
P.D. @ 65:
It's alright maybe I can return as some next generation Buddha.
In the world but not of it.
Brendan @ 60:
What would ever give you that idea? ;)
I'm with Randi on this one, they know the GOP is hemorraging. What will they do in November, though? Hey, if Rush wants to tell his braindead dittoheads to vote Dem then, he'll get a great big thank-you note from me.
bitter hussein katy @ 67:
Shadowgm Hussein @ 64:
Indeed they will. Like a pimple, they may go away temporarily, but they will resurface.
Cutting thru the bull: Keith style....I said this to save my job. By riding on Keith's ratings I'm hoping that no one will notice my past. I've licked bushes boots to please my old bosses, but now things are changing. My bull is going down like a lead sinker, and i'm desperate. Now I love Obama and always have. Please don't put me on the radio across from rush.
Pol Pot-O-Cheesesauce @ 70:
You forgot the part where he cowardly hid behind an ass cyst to avoid the Vietnam War. Other than that; I will drink a beer to your rant later this evening.
Pol Pot-O-Cheesesauce @ 70:
Rush is just a misunderstood genius. A giant among men.
I think before this election is over, many Americans are going to be on anti-depression meds.
OMG, I'm dying here.
Vitriol is good comedy...
I don't get it, Operation Chaos has already been proven here to be an abject failure. Norah O'Donnell on Chris' own network had already provided the smoking gun with the very early exit poll data.
Why the indignation now?
And why is Chris so self-righteous when he's been playing into the same hand all along?
when he says "fought and died", i hope he is referring to the american revolution or WWII, and not Vietnam, Iraq, etc.
P.D. @ 76:
Watch more television. The Karl Rove Stupefying Ray will solve al-- ... flagpinscontroversialformerpastornotblackenoughelitist ... -our problems.
I know a great many people take shots at Chris Mathews. Sometimes I am one of them. However, when he's right, he's spot on right. Calling out Limbaugh for his anti-American efforts to corrupt our voting/election process is tantamount to treason, for which I believe Rush Limbaugh should be prosecuted.
Dennis, I think they are very worried about the future. Nora O'Donnell, before the 2006 elections was going on and on how the Democrats will raise taxes. These people are only concerned for their own selves. How much does Nora make? How much is her net worth? If the Democrats get in, the can kiss their friggin tax cuts good-bye!
Obama won, Drugbaugh lost and the reich-wing will handily lose in November. America's future is bright.
Nice shooting Tweety but no cee-gar.I still have your voice going round & round in my head with regards to what you said of your pal George "chimp boy" Bush when he was booed at the Wash Nats Home game. Remember what you said? I do ,you said" it takes a lot of nerve for presidents to do what Bush did"He didn't have any choice but to grin & bear it! What did you think he was going to do, flip the home crowd the" bird. You have a long way to go, Tweety. But I know that once the dems. take full control in November you will jump right on the train as if you were born on it!Btw in my 62 years on this planet, I have not seen ANY other president booed like he was , at a sporting event!
bitter hussein katy @ 67:
Thinking the same thing. Voter turnout before McC was anointed was 10 to 1 dem to repub. In our caucus this year we had 350 voters, 4 years ago it was 35 people.
People are pissed at the admin and want change. OpChaos is a smoke screen to fool the foolish. Otherwise they'd have to admit that their base is gone. AND when Bill was in teh White House these clowns got their start, Hillary in the White House may be what they need to give their pathetic careers a kick start.
princess @ 78:
Princess, dhouldn't you be on the back 9 with your husband and kids? Or, are you too busy having a hissy fit over your reich-wing heros, Rush and O'racist?
When I look at Chris Matthews face, I see thousands of dead American soldiers.
America is forced to endure Chris's face night after night because Americans know of no way to have him removed.
He is a symbol of American shame.
Rush is one of the most disgusting right-wing nuts in the U.S. - I can't stand to look at a picture of this fat ass or listen to the nonsense that comes out of his mouth.
Solution - once a major party (ie. Republican in 2008) has decided it nominee, than a registered Republican should not be allowed to vote in the democratic primary unless that individual votes Democrat in the national election. It is not in the spirit of democracy to make a mockery of the election process like Rush has done.
The only way liars and criminals can win elections..
1) Lie and Cheat
2) Dirty Tricks
3) Control the media
4) Mega-watt wackos Spewing hate and division
5) Disable the Justice Department and FEC
4) When really desperate - invoke the crooks on the Supreme Court
They are doing it all.
Bush, Cheney and Crooked Elites have destroyed the Republican Party.
Someone needs to stand up NOW and stop the (D) party from going down the same path...
What is the difference between Chris Matthews and John Gibson?
Nothing.
bigironal @ 83:
Maybe they weren't booing Bush for his criminal presidency but because he throws like a girl?
kerplunk @ 92:
One of these reich-wing nuts still has a t.v. job, the other was canceled.
Let's have some fun in Michigan
Markos Moulitsos
Daily Kos
Jan 10, 2008
“Michigan Democrats and independents who want to see the Republican battle royale continue should just take a few minutes on Tuesday, January 15th to cast a ballot for Mitt Romney in the Republican primary… If we can help push Mitt over the line, not only do we help keep their field fragmented, but we also pollute Romney’s victory. How ‘legitimate’ will the Mittster’s victory look if liberals provide the margin of victory? Think of the hilarity that will ensue. We’ll simply be adding fuel to their civil war, never a bad thing from our vantage point.”
Why do liberals never recognize this quote when they complain about Operation Chaos? Why always the sanctimony? I know Kos had literally no effect on getting Hillary knocked out of the race any sooner, but he did attempt to influence the Republican race.
So...Limbaugh is calling for riots in Denver during the Dem. National Convention? The public safety officials of that city need to go to Limpballs & tell him if there is ANYTHING resembling a riot, that they are coming for his FAT ASS for incitement to riot and anything else that they can think up.
Inside Chris Matthews is a good journalist, trying to get out.
What is anyone going to do about this drug addled twit? Answer, Nothing!
If people would just ignore him he would eventually crawl back under a rock.
The more you pay attention to him the more creedence you give him!
Exactly what is a Sh**o-Head anyway? Is it someone so stupid that they have to look to a viagra and oxycontin addict to tell them what to think?
On Limpballs show Apr 23 2008 He explained to his Sh**o-Head minions that he was heading up "Operation Chaos" something he hoped would insure democratic infighting all the way through the primary process and culminating with chaos at the convention. He said that riots would ensure a Democrat would not be elected as president, and said his listeners had a responsibility to make sure it happens. He then went on to say "that’s the best thing that could happen to the country".
I hope officials in denver paid close attention to those inflammatory statements.
Should those riots he hopes for become a reality, Limpballs should be held criminally and financially liable for any loss of life or limb, any damage to property and he should have to pay back the city of Denver for any and all costs associated with preventing or stopping such behavior.
No rehab for you Lush..... Straight to prison....... You are going to look great in Orange....... Your Viagra won't do you much good in there, or maybe it Will !!
wisedup @ 73:
With President Obama, all these talking heads will be out of a job, because their entire career depends on bashing Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. From Limbaugh, Hannity, O'rilley to Ann Coulter... what are they going to do? They gotta tip-toe with their hatred with Obama, or else their racist ideology will be broadcasted!
of course none of that on-air man love for Commander Codpiece had any effect in 04 right ?
or his serial failure to even mention that our own DOJ/Civil Rights Div was actively suppressing votes
thank gaia we have this over paid twit defending the sanctity of 1 citizen, 1 vote
Brad @ 16:
Er, what we have here is the same problem we have with getting McSame investigated for breaking campaign finance rules. There is still no quorum on the Federal Election Committee (no doubt intentionally). And now there is talk about bringing a vote on Spakovsky's nomination again in the Senate. Ach! (:>
Loonie @ 97:
Out of what, the closet?
There is no "proud" issue with this final 25%+or-. This is, after all, the "moral majority" , and they could care less about honesty and REAL moral, ethical principle. They just use the words and catch phrases to keep the American people confused and off balance.
No pride with this final die-hard neocon faction in this country. They will cheat, steal, lie, spend American blood killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqi blood to keep in power and keep the killing going.
Dispicable beasts. And this last "die hard neocon faction" is dragging the weak brained, gullible "flag-loving Americans" along with them. It's an uphill battle.
dennis @ 95:
The difference is that Limbaugh's whole show is dedicated to this. Above dailykos quote was just a passing post, while Limbaugh has been trumpeting this for months, along with urging his followers to riot at the Democratic Convention. There is a difference dennis, Kos could urge his followers to riot at the republican convention, then there would be a better comparison.
shutterbug98 @ 96:
Yelling fire in a theater Rush?
Well if it is the case that Rush Limbaugh is influencing the Democratic Primary, Democrats have no one to blame but themselves for allowing it to happen. The Democratic Primaries should be solely closed for Democrats only and should all be winner take all, then we wouldn't be having this problem!
dennis @ 80:
His own? Are you saying tweety's a wanker?
ysbaddaden @ 102:
FUNNY (and true).
dennis @ 95:
So? I remember, as a KID, when gettting a strip torn off by one of my folks for something naughty I'd done, sometimes I'd say "But Billy did it too!" The answer: "We're not talking talking about Billy."
And we're not talking about Kos here, either. Just because Markos told people to jump off of a bridge, why do you insist on blaming the rest of left of center people for doing it?
I don't feel shame over what Markos said. And no one here is saying you should feel shame over Rush's antics. Both those guys own those actions. And anyone who did what they said are responsible for theirs.
If you want to talk about Markos and his business, take it elsewhere.
Good to see him ACT like he has integrity once in a while.
Mike Gwizdala @ 105:
I don't know why we're so concerned about Rush trying to influence the primaries anyway. Hillary has spent all of her time and a lot of her money trying to influence them and look how poorly that's turning out!
Look! It's Rush and he's going to jump off a cliff. Who's going to follow him?
Samson- @ 48:
except for crocodile tears
Agent_M @ 105:
Aren't there laws against inciting riots in this country?
Agent_M @ 104:
Maybe just a passing quote, Agent M., but you'd have a very hard time convincing more than just a few conservatives that some Democrats didn't play a role in John McCain being the Republican nominee.
getalife @ 35:
If the fighter you refer to is Kucinich; correct.
But even though Obama is clearly another imperialist, he at least is an intelligent one. Though he shows no sign of wanting to reverse the tide of globalism, he at least seems to grasp the concept of class warfare and have a heart for equity rather than craven greed, which seems to be the best we can get at this point.
TakeOurCountryBack @ 98:
I've tried to ignore him for 20 years. It doesn't work. He taps into some sort of weird anger in some white males that think that they are losing their piece of the pie. "Women and brown people in the work force, oh my!"
Rush has sold his soul for corporate interests and they are the ones keeping him on the air -- one should consider the source, but he is not one of the unwashed masses that he purports to stand for.
Isn't Rush an Aquarius - the water carrier?
Caleb @ 25:
People died for all the freedoms we enjoy in this country. As for voting, that includes both voting in presidential elections to local school boards and everything in between. Because of the sacrifices of many, we can have these primaries, despite what they may have become. It is still an exercise in free opinion and choice, which is not available in all countries. Of course, I guess one could argue, jackasses have the same freedom to disrespect the process and vote for anyone, regardless of intent. As Matthews put it, if they can live with it, good for them. Karma can be a bitch, tho.
Left&Left @ 64:
Can either of you pinheads explain how she was supposed to stop voters from crossing over? BTW you may note several threads here on how ineffective Rush's tactics were in any event. The fact that Obama was not on the ballot does not mean that she did not win and does not make her a liar. It merely makes it an unfair election . You may also note that Senator Obama "wants to win" and that does not make him evil. I don't know what issues you people have with women but frankly your endless whiny and ill informed attacks got old a long time ago.
The hell with Tweety.
When he swooned over Commander Bunnypants' "package" aboard that aircraft carrier, I knew the boy was sick in the head. His puerile pronouncements (Aqua Velva, anyone?) since then have only solidified that impression.
Nothing he says now -- after eight years of pandering to the reich wing -- will alter my basic opinion of him.
Of course, any takedown of the Vulgar Pigboy is a good thing, even from a shrill shill like Matthews.
Tweety's got a lot of gall to call out Limbutt, seeing as how he's part of the MSM which constructed this sham of a horse race to begin with.
As an aside, how's that "sunny nobility" working out for you, Tweets?
P.D. @ 45:
That his drugs ran out and since Clinton stole his "date" he needs another road trip to Asia.
miss_kitty @ 109:
Miss K, I was happy for you when you did your blog post here a couple days ago. Unless that promoted you in status to a co-owner or a sitemonitor, please don't tell me what to do.
Markos tried to influence the Republican primary and a great many Republicans aren't all that thrilled with John McCain as their nominee, and suspect more than a few Democrats may have had a hand in it. Whether or not Kos had any influence is not the point, but it is fair, IMO, to ask why no one mentions it now or mentioned it then that it was wrong on his part to do so.
And if you read the comments under Kos' post, an overwhelming majority of the posters were cheering the idea, which is not surprising.
Test
The Republicunts will start loading up local and state ballots with anti gay marriage laws, porn ordinances, sexual predator penalties and dope laws. That's the only way they can win. Through their collective hate.
The repugs will start loading up local and state ballots with anti gay marriage laws, dope laws, porn ordinances and sexual predator sentencing initiatives. That's the only way they can win in Nov. Through their collective hate.
Sorry for the double post. Comments aren't picking up well.
I >heart< Tweety
Just for today.
dennis @ 115:
Hmm. It occurs to me that if we were to spread the groundless rumor that McCain's nomination was the product of Democratic machinations we could encourage those supremely gullible people to forswear the voting booth this time around. Thanks Dennis!
Go get 'em Tweety!
dennis @ 124:
I didn't do a blog post a couple of days ago. And I've not been elevated in status. And now you're telling me what to do.
I don't read Kos. I don't care what his commenters were saying.
You know dennis, just because someone says they're left of liberal or right or conservative or not a bigot or a lover of animals, doesn't make it so. It's their actions. I mean, how many times have you seen on this blog, "I'm not a bigot, but blah blah blah Jews do such-and-such blah blah blah blah." My first thought is "Yeah, you are a bigot."
Trying to manipulate an election is not a progressive activity. Therefore, I reject your argument on its face.
There are still people out there who will do what Rush Limbaugh tells them to do? Wow.
dennis @ 95:
I agree with Dennis on this. [Can't believe I said that.]
dennis @ 95:
Are you admitting that this kind of activity is against the law and needs to be investigated?
That might have really meant something if he had mentioned Limbaugh by name.
Annoyed Canuck @ 135:
Maybe, but aren't the dittoheads who do his bidding actually worse than Rush? They're the ones casting the mischief votes.
dennis @ 115:
If Democrats had plotted to pick an unelectable Republican, Romney might have been a better choice.
Anyway, the turnout in most of the Republican primaries was so low, your theory doesn't hold a lot of water. Where's your evidence for Democratic crossover voting?
Fact is, the Republican field sucked. They had no viable, popular candidate acceptable to the most Americans. Your own implicit disenchantment with the eventual nominee is obvious. Don't go around blaming McCain on Democrats. That's just pathetic.
Tweety is only doing this because Rush beat him out as Most Influential Political Pundit in America, according to the Telegraph UK. Tweety is PISSED OFF!!!! Damn it!!
"Anyone who voted to screw up the political system of this country with the purpose of mischief should carry that with them the rest of their lives."
In the form of a rap sheet.
Shadowgm Hussein @ 134:
I'm not a lawyer, Shadowgm. If it is against the law I'd prefer someone prosecute and make a determination than all the whining and complaining and conjecturing about it.
dennis @ 140:
Then help yourself to a nice big cup of STFU.
Dragging Markos into the same toilet as Limbaugh qualifies as 'whining and complaining and conjecturing about it'.
And, technically, determination comes before prosecution.
Lets be realistic....
Don't political parties and the heavy influence of private money cause mischief and make a mockery of the Democratic process?
I mean, doesn't someone like Jesus have a 90% approval rating in the United States? What if he ran as a anti-war Democrat? Wouldn't at least 30 of the Republicans vote against him just because he ran as a Democrat?
What if he tried to run as a Independent and couldn't raise $500 million to put together a GOTV organization and buy TV and radio time because he didn't want to pander or make promises but lead by his conscious?
I just think Chris Matthews is being a little hypocritical in this situation by attacking Rush, but not attacking the entire system which is a part of Obama's mission. Secondly, Chris talked for a entire month about the Pennsylvania "machine system" and how it would deliver the vote for Hillary because it had shut Obama out. What's the difference between Pennsylvania's machine and Operation Chaos fundamentally? Hell, they both wanted Hillary to win, the only difference is the reason.
while any statement on this game playing with our voting system is welcomed, and over due, i think tweety could have given a litle more effort here. he spends endless amounts of time on minute issues of clinton life, the least he could have done is spend a full minute and even mention the name of the warped mind that spawned the very idea to vote as a ploy. rush needs to be called out and hightlighted at every turn. say his name and qoute him. shine the bright light of the media on him.
I agree people died for the constitutionally guaranteed freedoms that we have in this country. Voting in a primary is NOT one of them. I really wish people understood the constitution and not just listen to what other people say. To your point about disrespecting the process, do you realize that the process is a secret ballot for a reason. In a free nation one should not be asked how or why they vote. As you stated it is an exercise in free opinion and choice. You can choose to vote how you want and why.
LockeNessMonster @ 119:
Annoyed Canuck @ 137:
I didn't blame McCain on Democrats. I said more than a few conservatives did blame Democrats on his nomination. If they felt Dems influenced their race, it may have led some of them to go to the polls to vote for Hillary. Again, I didn't say it was right, I just asked why no one ever mentions it when they indict Limbaugh.
Rusty Shackleford @ 136:
Yeah, but Rush is the big fat ringleader. So if media heads like Matthews are going to call him and his tactics out, name him.
Shadowgm Hussein @ 141:
Why do you ask me a question then tell me to STFU? Are you blog-baiting me or something?
You've never once proven yourself to be an expert on anything, where do you get off telling someone else to STFU?
Annoyed Canuck @ 146:
Oh I agree, he should name Rush. My point was just that, in my opinion, Matthews' contempt was appropriately directed towards the fools who actually put Rush's "ideas" into action. (Rush is also worthy of contempt, of course.)
