Colbert Report: Bush Offers The Nation an Economic Placebo

John McCain and George Bush readily concede that off-shore drilling won't produce a drop of oil in the near future, but believe it will relieve our "psychological" pain. And we all know losing ones home is merely "psychological."

"We want to believe that the nothing President Bush is offering is the something we've all been waiting for."

Love Colbert. But everyone needs to read this NOW. The implications are breathtaking.

wow.....maybe there is something to this police state conspiracy talk

I think I'm going to start paying my rent with "psychological dollars." If my Landlord doesn't like it, I'll tell him he needs to get into therapy (or maybe spike his coffee with Xanax).

All of this mental recession stuff fits nicely with a candidate like McCain, who is on the verge of dementia himself.

Interesting. See my current blog post. May have to allude to that story.

Forget the word, RUSH was on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shwing!

RUSH is a band

This episode of Colbert was amazing, just because of Rush. I couldn't care less about the politics behind it.

Rush was back on TV after 33 years! Woo!

An imaginary pill for imaginary economic problems? What medication does Gramm recommend for chronic "whining"--voting Republican?

Ben Bernanke is the ML Carr of the US economy!

Last week it was we were "whining." This week it's "psychology."

The perception management talking point word of the week brought to you by the Republican National Committee to stick it up your ass.

It's psychological that energy prices are through the roof under the oil administration. It's psychological that 2.5 million families will or have been foreclosed on just this year. It's psychological that the economy is shedding 94,000 jobs per month on average for the first half of the year. It's psychological that the CPI (consumer price index) shot up in June at the 2nd fastest pace in 26 years (1.1%). It's psychological that our currency is almost worthless. It's psychological that our banks are failing. It's psychological that our government is bankrupt (financially and morally). It's psychological that our so called leaders are telling us it's all psychological. It's psychological that our so called leaders are criminals.

John McCain will not be the next president, imo.

The republicans have nothing to offer but wishful thinking.

I wonder what McGrandpa will be confused about tommorrow.

Glad this bad relationship become income and outflow is all in my mind.

I wonder how many generations it will take before the word "BUSH" will be used instead of the word, "IDIOT"! I mean I'm already doing it and I'm sure many of you are too. I'm talking the general public in everyday life like, you're driving down the road and the guy in the car next to you drives right into a tree. You say, "What a BUSH!"

We went through this back in the 60s and 70s. I guess the first thing the chairperson will have to say during the opening remarks would be something like:

"And we welcome any member of the police undercover force or homeland security to our meeting. For your ease, we will be providing you with a video of the meeting - just let the secretary know your name (in secret, of course) - okay, hold down the laughter" --- and it will be provided for you. If you wish to speak with any of our members, go ahead. Just be aware, that we know you are here, and you know that we know you are here, and we know that you know that we know you are here (we are a very knowledgeable group) and we won't answer any leading questions - like "do you want to overthrow the government" - the answer is "no", by the way.

Now, on with the meeting. Ms Sara has come up with a great idea to help protect our kids at Halloween.

Don't forget to grab your crotch and spit too!

Sorry, but I have to go now and take a Cheney.

A deflationary economic depression is coming. Governmnent bailouts will not prevent it from occuring, any more than drilling off shore will produce a drop of oil in the near future.

Well isn't that annoying. I noticed this site replaced my double-hypens with a n-dash or "--" thus screwing up what I (and gempei) wanted to say in Morse code.

So for all you people our there wondering wtf we're saying, I said

_.__ _.__ __..

or YYZ which is the airport code for Toronto. Also an AWESOME instrumental by the rock band Rush.

man, I'm such a nerd... :(

RUSH KICKS ASS! :)

It is difficult to think of a solution from this administration that wasn't a placebo. Well, aside from tax cuts for the rich. I guess the poor people get all the sugar pills.
