Mike's Blog Roundup
By Mike Finnigan Tuesday Jul 22, 2008 10:00amdemocracy arsenal: Our network stooges remain in the tank, but the determinedly blinkered Beltway pundits have finally noticed McGrampa's serial gaffes, and even the normally hackish Joe Klein has written about his desperate dishonesty. But the Maverick's latest isn't a mere gaffe. It betrays a frightening fundamental ignorance of Iraq.
Calculated Risk: $1 trillion needed to solve the Housing Crisis. Mortgage rates increase sharply. G-Dub says, 'Wall Street got drunk'.

At the Skewz link, the senator said the photos were published of Osama and Obama just as a tongue in cheek sort of thing. I would suggest they were published just as a head up ass sort of thing.
Just gotta say, I am thinking about everyone in south Texas today. I know how it feels to have a hurricane bearing down on you and it's no fun. Hope everyone makes it through this. Hopefully it will speed up and not just sit over them for a long time.
The McCain entry for his op-ed is funny as hell.
I just saw a bit of McCain's town hall meeting today. He summoned up the story about being a POW and how he refused to leave so that a POW who had been there longer than he had could go home. He concluded with, I put my country first. This got the gang on their feet and cheering as he stood there demurely.

then, in conjunction with that, read glenn greenwald's piece about AT&T and the democratic national convention.

the majority of the democratic party--just like their brethren in the GOP--have, once again, sacrificed ethics, democracy and honesty for quick corporate cash. it makes me sick. my money is not going to the DNC.
it is time for status quObama to demonstrate just what he means by 'change'...
Arsenal of Democracy: Bike Boxes!

the first pic's pretty good. second one too. I also like the one with the Eucalyptus tree.
Linked video on page link isn't working. here is another video for "Bush saying wall street got drunk"

This is the explanation for the economy.
After saying the economy was strong, he knew the economy was actually drunk.
It wasn't a sub prime crisis or a delayed response by the feds, but too much alcohol.
First, I definitely recommend this post - it's outrageous and truly frightening.
Second, this headline is far too generous. Obama didn't "cave" on the new FISA law - he was 100% complicit. As the Democratic Party's nominee, he could have put the brakes on this legislative abomination at any time, with one phone call, to Harry Reid. Instead, he chose to chase perceived political advantage and the accrual of power to the presidency.

I guess he earns some points for that.
And people wonder why the New Yorker Magazine cover was so knuckleheaded???
I think we could still defeat that FISA bill if it were presented to the public as an opportunity to get monetary damages from the class action lawsuit. Sometimes you have to go low in order to reach the heights.
Sadly, it's the wealthy Zionists who keep getting Lieberman elected and unfortunately give the rest of Jewish people a bad name.

indeed
this is not the sign of a leader. it is the sign of a triangulating politician.

Don't be so naive as to blame LIEberman's perpetual hold on his Senate seat on Zionists. Do you REALLY think they're a majority of the voting populace of CT?
Washington Times joins conservative media in publishing McCain’s error-filled op-ed.
Following the lead of many other conservative outlets, the Washington Times today published Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) error-filled op-ed that the New York Times recently rejected. In an editor’s note, the Washington Times explains its decision:
Indeed, many of the “other media” who have published the op-ed are conservative outlets, including foxnews.com and Rupert Murdoch’s The New York Post.

The Pot Calling the Kettle Black
Why?
Reslugs know McBush's ignorance is their wost nightmare but they can't admit it.
The best thing about McCain lately is that he has pretty much just gone negative. By November, his face is going to be synonymous with negative statements about Obama. This pretty much blows his wad in this regard. Now whenever you hear bad stuff about Obama, people will just think, "That's McCain, being McCain."
Finally George Bush speaks up on something he knows about, getting drunk and having a hangover. If only we could sleep off the last six mounths of his term.
I don't blame Jews for thinking poorly of Joe Lieberman... His association with John Hagee and other extreme "Christian" Zionists who have ulterior motives for their support of Israel is one big factor...
I really want to see that CBS-McCain story picked up.
