Newt Gingrich has the Rove playbook down on Obama
By John Amato Monday Aug 04, 2008 12:00pm
Here's the video of Hannity and Newt trying to frame Obama into the neat little narrative Rove has created for him.

Gingrich: Narcissistic, stunningly arrogant---need, daring, stunning, full of himself, out of touch, he's floating 25 feet above the ground, take a week off and get back in touch with reality, sounding goofy...
And so it goes. Newt has the playbook down. Hannity can certainly take everything Obama says out of context like the best of them.
Did they leave anything out?
Update: It does sound like Newt is describing himself....

Doesn't matter what they do. They'll need Diebold's help to throw the election...
oh, shit.
Gingrich: Narcissistic, stunningly arrogant—need, daring, stunning, full of himself, out of touch, he’s floating 25 feet above the ground, take a week off and get back in touch with reality, sounding goofy…
Wait, are you sure he wasn't talking about Bush or Hannity?
"He's sounding goofy?"
Coming from those two guys, that's quite the disparaging comment!
he left out...
"yet somehow waaaaayyyy better than this current guy and McCain! go figure!"
he left out...
Has real solutions and seems stunningly in touch with the people...
Fact are meaningless to Republicans
I had a customer yesterday who started talking politics. And as usual the first thing a Republican mentions is welfare and
socialized medicine. I asked if she was against corporate or personal welfare, she paused, and I added because we spend 10x on
corps than peeps. Running from this she mentioned universal health care. I asked her what country has the best health care, she
said the US of course. France said I, France, you remember the country that thought invading Iraq was a mistake. She jumped
to religion saying abortion as evil and America is historically a Christian country. This let me use my favorite comeback of all
time. I said, you might not want to bring up the history of Christian Americans, because it was in the name of Jesus Christ that
Native Americans, Africans, women, children and immigrants were systematically killed or marginalized in so many ways.
It is in the name of Christ that the Republicans are raping this country, with the Democrats taking pictures.
"fear n' smear" are us
suprisingly... not a middle-aged white man so therefore confusing and scary.
HEEEEE'S BLAAAAAAAACK!!!!!
that, mebbe
Yeah,
You left out that McCain is such a nice guy he volunteered his wife for a topless beauty pageant
oh yea...and a suprisingly good speaker.
Hannity is not married is he. Such a virile young man, lots of money...so sad...does he have a "problem" with women?
sean:is he playing the race card
newt: no
"Did they leave anything out?"
just their overwhelming declaration of jealousy.
“I encouraged Cindy to compete,” McCain said to cheers. “I told her with a little luck she could be the only woman ever to serve as first lady and Miss Buffalo Chip.”
As a reader emails, "Miss Buffalo Chip has 'been known to feature topless women' in the same way that Guns and Ammo magazine has been known to feature firearms." Indeed, an ESPN.com columnist describes it as "occasionally bottomless."
How many times has Newt been married anyway? I wonder if he's created a yearbook out of all his wedding albums.
Liberal AND Proud @ 12:
Nah, they just don't hang out in the men's rooms he prefers to cruise.
Hannity's "Exclusive" guest list ...
Newt Gingrich
Dick Morris
Ollie North
He recycles thru these gasbags and presents them as top-notch, A-list guests.
Hannity may have to go back and start playing the Rev Wright tape over and over again.
john j @ 15:
I nominate John McCain as Mr. Cow Chip.
Many psychotherapists believe that almost all accusations are based on what we project onto someone else, as that's how we recognize the qualities in the first place.
Newt Gingrich might just be their goldmine.
"Gingrich: Narcissistic, stunningly arrogant—need, daring, stunning, full of himself, out of touch, he’s floating 25 feet above the ground, take a week off and get back in touch with reality, sounding goofy…"
Sounds like Newt describing himself to me... Hey Newt! STFU!!!
Haha! The filter is so much naughtier than I am. I had to go back and check which word (or word-within-a-word) left me marked for moderation. That's awesome.
McCain strategy in a word: BOO!
” McCain said to cheers. “I told her with a little luck she could be the only woman ever to serve as first lady and Miss Buffalo Chip.”
Such an arrogant, presumptive statement!
I’m sorry but if anyone is stupid enough to fall for crap like this, from two idiots who are far richer and have opposite interests than their audience, then they are too stupid to apply reason and logic with. This works on people too dense to think or have their minds made up already and are looking for a cheap and easy excuse to vote for more irrational policies that will continue to fail.
Seriously, does anyone know someone personally who listens to Hannity? If so, I feel your pain, what are these people like? I used to know a few of them but they've wised up a bit in the last few years. Back then though, they made my blood boil.
I have that same feeling I had in the summer of 04 right before the conventions.
Dems continue to think they can win with "feel good" campaigns. Kerry refused to attack and destroy the characters of Bush/Cheney and now Obama is dong the same.
The Republicans have nothing to go on but attacks. They are like kids teasing a dog on a leash. Sickening. They care little about the country, and a great deal about profiteering. This is an example of where they've led the country:
Wow...Hannity and Gingrich discussing Obama and race. I'd rather spend all day in a gas station men's room.
Full of himself and out of touch seems to describe newty himself.
Too bad all Witch's brews are herbal and or fragrant oil based now.
sean: is he losing it
newt: no
The antidote is to do the same back at McCain, but instead of emphasizing perceived weaknesses (as the Obama-smearers do) hammer on McCain's REAL weaknesses:
Guy Reel (Common Dreams): McCain Unhinged: The Must Issue for the Obama Campaign
[all emphasis mine]
Liberal AND Proud @ 12:
Yeah, he is marrtied but he keeps his wife in a vault in the basement of his estate so she can't go out and say something that might embarrass him.
Liberal AND Proud @ 23:
Didn't they use Buffalo chips to fuel prairie campfires?
This desperate Reslug crap from just two of many, many Dickless morons on Faux.
bbbbbbbbut but but but
FOX is farenbalanced!
Ron @ 30:
embarrass HIM?
She's hiding in the basement punishing herself over the last two words she said..."I DO"!!
Ron @ 30:
because that's what he does so well... embarrass himself.. what a total fucktard!
occassionally i would watch hannity& colmes but i quit i couldn't stand the obvious negative linguistic framing by hannity....he is so over the top/repetitive. i'm not wired for such b.s......it's obvious hannity took a negative
linguistic correspondence through frank luntz.....i don't get into pop culture infatuation but i do dig that kirsten
on the show enough said
Hannity is Limbaugh's protege. So, it's clear his career goal is to become an even bigger drug-addled bloated gasbag.
Congratulations, Sean. You're well on your way.
newt, like a valiant knight, is riding to save mcmaiden
their 'dump the sick/injured wife for the younger and prettier woman' connection is not to be broken.
ysbaddaden @ 31:
No, they liked to dip them in Cow dip.
Things have to get really bad in this country, and I mean REALLY bad, before people wake if, that is if the American public has the capacity to wake up and pay attention. If McCain gets elected, it will be just what the American people as a whole deserve. I will be voting for Kucinich since Obama has moved to the right after clinching the nomination.
Just remember this: we get the government we deserve, not the government we want. Unfortunately for those of us who are paying close attention, we are greatly out numbered by the mindless American sheep who lack critical thinking skills and the desire to give even the smallest shit about the constitution.
"Narcissistic, stunningly arrogant—need, daring, stunning, full of himself, out of touch, he’s floating 25 feet above the ground, take a week off and get back in touch with reality, sounding goofy…"
Sounds more like Sean Hannity than anyone else...
Andotech @ 40:
First, I agree with your assessment of the situation. However, I disagree with you on your vote. Obama has moved to the center, because that is where you need to be to win elections. His center, I would point out, is much more to the left than the GOP center.
You're vote is yours, so I'll leave it there. However, please do remember to vote.
They also had to come up with about fifteen different words that would trigger the word "uppity" in some voters minds.
motorfingaz @ 25:
Agreed. Obama can run attacks filled with facts. But he needs to step up. Now.
And get better surrogates. John Kerry isn't one of them....
Andotech @ 40:
Your protest vote for Kucinich might as well be a vote for McBush. Remember that when your complaining about our new old preznit.
The Republicans attack strengths, not weaknesses. They reframe the strengths into liabilities. Kerry's service record was attacked. His education was elitism. And so on.
The same thing is now happening to Obama. His popular appeal is silly celebrity.
We need to do the same thing to McCain.
Mavarick - not a team player (the Republicans have anticipated this, see their recent ads talking about how his efforts are so bi-partisan).
Straight talker - shoots his mouth off.
Hero - two dimensional, not very experienced in other areas.
You don't have to attack the perceived strength, just reframe the issue using negative words.
Geez, how come Newt not advocating shutting down the gubmint. He was the mastermind behind the last GOP plan to do that. Then Bill Clinton called his bluff, and Newt got slapped around like a $2 hooker.
Doesn't Cindy McCain have fake hooters?
They messed up on the sounding "goofy" thing because McCain has the title for sounding and acting goofy all wrapped up. Obama couldn't come close to touching him on that front even if he tried.
Richgrinch and Sir Spamity both need to be bitch-slapped by a windmill. Especially Richgrinch: Leads an impeachment against a president for adultry for shite sake while carrying on with a mistress of his own. Thus he was cheating on the wife for whom he left his terminally ill first wife. A paragon of virtue and family values!
right on! @ 35:
Perhaps embarrass was the wrong word. How about expose him off Faux.
Only Faux would choose the one man who shut down the government in 1996 because he was asked to sit in the back of Air Force One to comment on narcisism.
To quote Tom Delay, "He told a room full of reporters that he forced the shutdown because Clinton had rudely made him and Bob Dole sit at the back of Air Force One...Newt had been careless to say such a thing, and now the whole moral tone of the shutdown had been lost. What had been a noble battle for fiscal sanity began to look like the tirade of a spoiled child..The revolution, I can tell you, was never the same."
poor Newt....Eighty-four separate ethics charges against him, lost the speakership and resigned from congress, and he's the best thing Hannity can choose to talk about ethics and morality....says alot about the modern NeoCon movement.
Did they leave out "uppity n****r"?
Good to see the former Speaker of the House where's his famous contract with America that only he knew about. Where's that other corrupt Speaker of the House Dennis who allow Foley to molest kids while they worked as Pages. Ok the current Speaker of the House Pelosi is taking her kick backs and praying for GW. No impeachment just prayers. I wonder what' s the going price to keep a President form being impeached with a slam dunk case? If only Nancy Pelosi had been Speaker of the House during the corrupt Nixon Years. Yes Tricky Dick Nixon would never have to resign from Office and like the GOP criminals to day they can't be touched. Look at indicted Senator Stevens who is being cheered by the President and Stevens acts like what's the problem. Libby walks, Roves is smiling and Steven really could care less why you ask because if your an insider of the Bush Administration crime pays but you don't get punished only those other people.
Because toby called him a high yellow
john j @ 15:
Take it off!, take it off!, take it off!, take it off!
Lets see what million dollar plastic hooters McCain left his first wife for........
sadly, i have a plan.
dress up all the usual protesters heading the GOP convention in flannel shirts and john deere hats with a solid five o'clock shadow to make people stand up and say "wait a minute! why are Americans protesting McCain?" not costumes, per se, but your usual painting the shutters kind of ensemble (is ensemble French?). sadly, there is a lot to be said for perception and anyone not a Republican is douched in lattes.
i think it would work.
Is Newt Talking about McCain?
Discuss....
"Narcissistic, stunningly arrogant—need, daring, stunning, full of himself, out of touch..." Everything Newt said about Obama could just as well be said about George W. Bush.
This from two proven low-life, Reslug adulterers and liars.
It's the absolute height of irony for Newt Gingrich to refer to anyone else as "narcissistic, stunningly arrogant—need, daring, stunning, full of himself, out of touch."
Hollow arguments like this apparently appeal to the "silent majority" (read: morons). I really think McCain will be our next president. If it weren't for the Fox News propaganda machine, we probably wouldn't have had the past four years and now we are going to get four years of McCain. It's really sad.
I must have misread this; I thought for certain they were referring to George W. Bush.
Political conversations you'll never hear in America...
"She turned me into a Newt!....uhh...well....I got better."
Translation: Uppity N----r.
Bringing on Newt Gingrich to give is unbiased opinion of Obama is like asking Hitler to give his unbiased opinion on jews.
What Bullshit!
What the f*ck kind of "fair and balanced" bullshit is that? Jebus, you reich-wingers really are stupid arseholes for buying into this faux bullshit. Seriously, you're idiots.
Surging Blue Lensman @ 45:
Sad but true, SBL. I wanted Kucinich too, but now the important thing is to act as if the election might not be fixed again. seriously. Vote for the best chance of keeping McKeating out. It's Obama. Not my first choice but there it is...
Christopher Hitchens made Hannity look like a mental midget when discussing the death of Jerry Falwell. And Newt Gingrich? And the comedian Newt Gignrich, he reminds me of Benny Hill.
Did they leave anything out?
Yes, "[Obama] the next President of the United States."
Chico Hussein @ 18:
Newt Gingrich = disgraced former speaker and adulterer
Dick Morris = disgraced campaign manager and prostitute lover
Ollie North = disgraced marine and criminal
The ultimate irony would be if the GOP shuts down the government on the day that GW Bush is on vacation and McCain is visiting a national park.
MAU @ 68:
I used to like Benny Hill. Gingrich, not!
Dr. Britney Hussein Matt @ 70:
Ollie North is a felon. As is that other FOX ass monkey, G. Gordon Liddy.
Leadership @ 6:
I swear... they all have the same playbook. That's the exact same pattern I run into. Then they go on the offensive and relegate themselves to smear attacks and demonizations.
Fun bunch.

Gingrich and Hannity now are getting it on? No shock here. They're cut from the same mold - the one that should have been broken long ago lest they multiply. Ewwww.....two sickos in one thread. Their sick, bigoted ugly faces are enough to make anyone vomit their guts out. Hannity gets uglier by the day as his rotting insides make an outward appearance.
Ah yes, the fair and balanced crowd...
Both of these creatures, Hannity and Newtie, could best be described as blivots - ten pounds of sh*t packed in a five pound bag.
Liberal AND Proud @ 73:
Felons are the ONLY people who will appear on Fox news these days. They have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for guests because no one with any shred of decency or self respect will appear in the company of these bigoted, paper assholes.
You know some days I think that there is hardly any simple fox model minds left, and then I run into 10 in 1 week.
Reality progressives around don't know who who is, it is so sad. Scared to ask if they know the truth.

Now if one was buying manure, this would be a great "twofer"!
It's gotten to to point where you don't even have to make sentences or form thoughts to be a part of right wing discourse. Just free flow random words.
We need Obama to stand up and say, "They can call me all the names they want... I'm the leader with the policy plan."
Newt is such a cunning linguist...
Mick Piobr @ 67:
Same here.
Kooch is the man...but he himself has endorsed Obama, and really, unless Obama moves waaaaaaaay to the right, he's still ther best chance this country has to pull itself up and out of the GOP fascist shit-hole BushCo and pals dug us into.
sophya @ 78:
NO, these FUCKERS are trying to legitimize CRIMINALS. The law was broken under both Reagan and Nixon, and the whole goal is to undo what was done.
These PRICKS want to rewrite allll of history. A history that has besmirched the U.S.A at ever turn...from Viet Nam, to Watergate, to Iran Contra to today.
Hey, Hannity! Have you incited anybody to the murder of innocents lately? He must be so proud of himself.
Fortunately, they're preaching to their own choir, folks who will never vote for a Democrat, much less the one who least looks like the guy on the US currency. I do believe that some of those folks can be rescued and deprogrammed. I just can't imagine anyone who's lost their home, their health insurance, their job because the commute cost more than their paycheck, their son or daughter to a post traumatic stress disorder that the current leadership, and the Rebuplican candidate, had to be forced to provide treatment for, will vote for John McCain once they realize that gay marriage and an Uppity Negro (repub talking point patent pending) just ain't gonna trump their impending financial ruin. Not this time. They can always tell themselves they're voting for the 50% of Obama that's whitish.
Samson- @ 14:
Interesting article in the Boston Glob showing the most used word on the McC website is "Obama."

liberalTireGaugeOfJusticeNmoderation @ 83:
dennis... agreed, he is the man
but, the rest of your post, and the others like it, i fear, are missing the bigger picture, the longer trajectory, the systemic problem. i don't see obama much of a change from that longer trajectory.
bush has only dug faster.
One more thing: Newt Gingrich is an abomination, according to Leviticus. As a Christian, I forgive him, and I take pity on him for how God plans on greeting him. You know, up there.
john @ 58:
I've noticed that ALL the right's criticisn of Obama is really criticism of Bush...
He's a walking gaffe machine..
He can't put words together w/o a teleprompter..
He's an elitist ....
He's arrogant ....
He knows nothing anout anything ....
I think the Repugs are just angry at themselves for having blindly loved Bush for all these years.
This is a little off topic but I find it funny. Dobson's group is praying for it to rain the night that Obama makes his acceptance speech at the dem. convention. Now there is a wise way to use prayer, don't cha think?
Chico Hussein @ 94:
There is a psychological term for what they are doing.
Also, it is part of the strategy. The strategy is to turn Obama into Bush, and present McCain as the alternative.
pissed off patricia @ 95:
Perhaps they'll all stay home and pray on election day.
remember obama never claimed to live in a world of an idealogue....many on the (R) and some on the left are putting him or expect him to be their. unfortunately that's not reality. realism requires compromise....obama made that clear recently about the off-shore drilling. he doesn't want it...that's obvious....the (R) knows there are people who express there values/theories in a idealistic form. you can want to live in that world but it's not here. obama is getting punched everyday.....it may seem like a joke but he is fighting for his life. they have given him just about every label possible. i have concern because i've lost faith in certain demographics
people have lost their sensibility...they rather be empowered by a useless culture war. obama is trying to stay on the progressive wave.....and the red coats are trying to knock him off. for you voting for someone
who you perceive is aligned with your values i respect that but please consider being realistic.
So, in that picture...who's pitching and who's catching?
constituent @ 98:
Very thoughtful comment! I'll be on your team any day.
Liberal AND Proud @ 96:
Ok fine, but they better not go TOO far.. With the gullability of the average Republican voter, many may go out and vote for Obama thinking they're getting a third Bush term !
I know a "newt" is a small, little lizard but what's a "hannity"?
Is it something that spouts pure BS?
That's what I think anyway not that my opinion means much.

the last president who was a humble man was jimmy carter and the repugs reamed him for it
and we all know, these are code words for uppity

Samson- @ 92:
I can't argue this point but we've got to find some way to start pulling out of this nose dive and McBush sure as hell isn't it! Obama at least provides an opportunity to bring reasoned discussion back into politics (something the two jerkoffs causing this post know nothing about).
Uncle Joe Mccarthy @ 106:
Carter was a humble man...a TRUE Christian...who has lived the rest of his life being an example to others with his charity work...in which he GETS HIS HANDS DIRTY...and Jimmy Carter may have been the most intellectual of all our Presidents. The man was a freakin' nuclear scientist.
George W. Bush can't even PRONOUNCE nuclear.
liberalTireGaugeOfJusticeNmoderation @ 104:
i guess it boils down to something as simple as a different idea of what a progressive really is.
that i can accept, yet i can't help be discouraged by it
Narcissistic, arrogant, full of himself? Hell I though Newt was talking about himself. I try to avoid seeing this guy and/or the sound of his voice whenever possible. Plus I'll always regret having met with him at a neighborhood 'coffee' when he was first running for Congress in Cobb County GA...regret in not having 'offed' the motherfucker right then and there. I'd probably still be in jail - although maybe President Clinton or President Gore would have pardoned me somewhere along the way - but the country would be a hellovalot better off. A small sacrifice, I'd say.
Surging Blue Lensman @ 45:
My vote is not a protest vote. I believe Kucinich is the best person for the job. You expect me to vote for the lesser of the two evils, which is not really a choice at all when you look at their platforms. Do you think Obama will fight hard to end the war in Iraq, fight for free health care for all Americans, fight for energy independence? If you do, you have seen way to many Obama commercials. Obama's move to the right equates to business as usual. Look at his support for the recent FISA legislation. A person who possesses critical thinking skills is able to weigh what the hear versus what they see in order to arrive at an informed decision.
this is more of the same. this is just another dose of culture war just on higher end. they know there demographics/viewership....isolated (R) conservatives looking for more empowerment to hate liberals. these people are convinced from being told we don't like them. this is a big part of this movement that has been going on for 8-10 years people are living/moving to a community where people think and act like them. it's the ultimate continuation of division. for the lower economic spectrum and possibly evangelicals there told we don't like them because they are religious. on the other end the wealthy we want to tax them more. it's much complicated then this but you get the idea. if your middle class and educated your a threat. these people on the (R) want/need reasons to dislike the liberals it gives empowerment and purpose. personally i believe obama is fully aware of this phenomena.
Gee thanks for that succinct unbiased analysis Newt.
Here all along, what with this eye popping spittle flecked scorching HATRED of America the Bush years have managed to induce in most other nations,I foolishly thought a candidate for the American presidency who could generate this much good will in the world must be a good thing.
It took a well grounded not at all egotistical or douche bag like former speaker of the House to show me the error of my ways. After all,if you can't trust Newt and Sean, who CAN you trust?
If anybody is watching or listening to Shun Hannity for anything other than comic relief then they are a lost cause anyway. No need to even bother trying to show them reality. They are brainwashed and will never be savable!!! They are 20%ers and will never change their mind even when their house is taken away from them and they lose whatever they had in the stock market or if they are thrown in prison because the feds came in the middle of the night and found all their kiddie porn on their computer they will still think the George Bushes and Shun Hannitys and Rush Limpdicks and Dick Cheneys and John McAssholes are god's gift to society.
Mick Piobr @ 67:
I understand your reasons for voting for Obama, and I have considered those same reasons for myself and decided that if I vote for Obama, I will feel like I have wasted my vote. This election, I am not voting for the lesser of the two evils.
Ummm, Newt? You are aware you have to WORK with this guy, right?
Makes you wonder - do Democrats and Republicans ever sit together in the cafeteria?
Surging Blue Lensman @ 107:
i would say the most important thing is to not give the dems a free pass. make demands, hod them accountable, etc. when they veer to the right challenge them. a dumb idea is a dumb idea no matter who it comes from
the DNC takes the left's vote for granted--to an insulting degree--and the biggest reason for that is their assumption that no matter how far right they tack the left will figure it is their only choice and vote for them no matter how much they moan and groan.
the bush admin was a gift to the DLC
Hannity is a first class punk. Gingrich is a hypocrite who whores himself out to Big Oil. I take neither of what those 2 clowns say very seriously.

I do see the big picture, and writing in a candidate who has no chance of winning, however qualified he is...IS a vote for McBain plain and simple.
I'm not as big a fan of Obama as I was a month ago...but I say again, he's got my support, and my vote in Nov...
This country simply cannot afford McCain...he would bring this country down in a smoldering heap.
Which is why I ask those who would write in Kucinich, or Paul, or any other candidate...don't. If you're sick of BushCo's failed policies, ya gotta go for Obama.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Andotech @ 116:
So, you will vote for where your vote will count less. Is that what you really want?
Little pot and kettle time. Couple of fairies who protest too much.
Who cares what Newtie and Hannie have to say? Newt Gingrich, married 3x and divorced twice, once served divorce papers to one wife who was recovering from cancer surgery. Neither of these two right wing clowns has the intelligence of Obama. Newtie and Hannie are like parrots that repeat and repeat and repeat the same words/phrases that were given to them by their boss.
I wonder if these two are incapable of being honest.
cg @ 117:
Yeah. The Democrat is the black guy serving the soup.
You forgot the "citizen of the (new) world (order)" and "replace the bowling alley with a basketball court" code words.
constituent @ 98:
There is a difference between compromise and caving.
Since the GOP has been the ones responsible for this clusterfuck, they should be the ones willing to compromise, but Obama's actions with respect to FISA and off-shore drilling are showing that as usual... it is the other way around.
Since Obama, and pretty much every major Dem candidate before him in the past couple decades has been more concerned about earning the conservative vote than the liberal, I say fuck'em.
Liberal AND Proud @ 127:
And I didn't mean that in a racist way. The WORKING guy is the Democrat.

"What does that even mean?"
"Because it has a valid point to make ITS INSISTING!"

I am tired of the intellectual dishonesty that is the whole argument that a vote not casted for Obama or McCain is a vote for McCain. No, it is not... it is a vote for another person who is not McCain nor Obama.
Last I checked this is a democracy, and people get to exercise their right to vote for whomever they feel like voting.
If all you and your fellow Dem supporters have to convince people to vote for them is fear, I am afraid to say that it doesn't make you guys look any better than the GOP. Alas peas of the same pod...

Yes; agreed. In an ideal situation, Kucinich. But vote for Obama - if nothing else - to protect SCOTUS.
Tyler Durden @ 134:
Regardless, I fail to see why you or any disgruntled progressive would vote for someone that has no chance of winning.
Liberal AND Proud @ 133:
Also, they never mention that deregulation is partially to blame for the current runaway state of the economy, and yes gas prices in particular.
A lot of our current troubles can be tracked to legislation executed by their saint Raygun. Alas, during that time... there were a few Dem houses if I recall.
pissed off patricia @ 136:
well... except for the shah....
hannity trains hasselbeck of the view as well. he gives her talking points. i was wondering where the ignorant and hateful rant was coming from. found out it was training on top of natural talent.
You know what frosts my butt about this whole exchange, more than anything, (and I concede that it's a minor point)?
The way the Hannity calls him "Mr. Speaker". He is NOT "Mr. Speaker" anymore. He is Former Georgia Rep. Gingrich. He is Former Speaker of the House...at best. He is NOT "Mr. Speaker".
That's Nancy Pelosi, (as frustrated as I am with her). Besides, how many Speakers of the House have there been since Newtie was in? Does Hannity call Denny Hastert "Mr. Speaker"?
He left out that he's a secret Muslim, that he's a secretly America-hating Christian, and that he is beloved by white women. This is all scheduled to come back the week before the election.
Ron @ 140:
Well, according to some polls Obama is in a free fall wrt to McCain, so progressives should vote for McCain then?
Following similar lines of thought... should progressives eat shit, after all a trillion flys can't be wrong.
I am tired of the Dems assuming they have the liberal vote no matter what. I am starting to suspect that the DNC and DLC assumed that it was easier to leave the GOP on their own devices, let'em screw things royally and then simply get the votes by default. It seems a fairly easier approach than having to actually work and do something to earn votes, so I can't blame them... it is an optimal strategy is the main goal is to maximize results with the smallest effort.
