Conservatives starting to panic about Palin
By SilentPatriot Thursday Sep 25, 2008 6:15pm
Prominent conservatives are finally starting to realize that an unqualified half-term hockey mom from Alaska might not be the best choice to be a 72 year old heartbeat away from the presidency. Here's the brutal roundup.
It was fun while it lasted.
Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.
No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I’ve been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I’ve also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted. Palin filibusters. She repeats words, filling space with deadwood. Cut the verbiage and there’s not much content there.
Wingnut extaordinaire K-Lo:
I’m not where my friend Kathleen Parker is — wanting her to step aside to spend more time with her family and Alaska — but that’s not a crazy suggestion.
McCain campaign insiders, via Ed Schultz:
McCain Camp insiders say Palin “clueless”
Capitol Hill sources are telling me that senior McCain people are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as “disastrous.” One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, “What are we going to do?” The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is “clueless.”

The should panic after all if something happends to McCain and he wins ( which I doubt) Palin would be their President too and that woman is clueless to say the least.
She's hot!
She's coming undone.
The question now is, who will McCain put in her place?
Lieberman will be just as bad.
i can't help but to absolutely love this.
it amazes me that they were so careless in their VP pick. this woman is a nightmare!
my fear is this: why isn't joe biden saying ANYTHING about her? i realize that they don't want to participate in the negative aspect of campaigning -- but it's kind of an elephant in the room that this woman is an absolute disaster of a candidate and CLEARLY does not have a grasp of any important issues.
bravo C&L keep the pressure on palin. palin is the weakest link. this choice was made by mccain...it was
a poor choice.
mccain would rather win an election than use proper
judgement.
don't be surprised if the repigs
refuse to debate biden and cancel.
there will be some excuse...wait and see.
and if they do give it a try.......
they will be EMBARRASSED !!!!!!!!!!!!
Duh.
Although this sounds like the rats leaving a sinking ship, there is more pressing news to report.
I just heard that Kennedy has been hospitalized. Is that true?
alien @ 4:
What's that saying? Never interrupt your opponent when he's in the process of disemboweling himself? Yeah, that. Biden doesn't NEED to say anything.
The Very Bitter Ceci Hussein @ 8:
It was a headline on CNN, but no further news :(
alien @ 4:

them if they chose to grab a lead weight instead of a preserver.

Meanwhile, citing Palin, Putin to Seek Governorship of Alaska
She will be back in Wasilla on October 2nd. That is when her tax records are due and when she has to debate Biden.
I don't like her but I feel really sorry for her, McCain used her and damaged her severly. Had she stayed in Alaska no one would have noticed that she is lacking a few things, she would have been a fine semi-crooked gov. and could have grown old with respect. Now she is the laughing stock of the country.
These are falling like skeeters at a ddt convention. Look now of lose your chance, at the CandidateI'dLiketoFornicatewith...
alien @ 4:
when given the proverbial rope some people hang
themselves. the people that support palin want the
opposition to say something negative so they can cry
'sexism'....i don't agree with it, but we have a demographic that is living in a world of self-deception.
i cant wait for her debate. i hope shes as bad as they say she is. should be a good watch.
you know though, this may be a ploy! you know, get our expectations low. she'll still lose the debate, but if she doesn't bomb it and comes out swinging at least a couple of times, she might be praised anyway.
I'm betting that she "resigns" suddenly about Monday and Mitt comes to the Rescue Sunday night - yeah she will be forced out and Mitt will come out with his "business" background. The other alternative is Rudy who will talk about his vast experience as mayor of New York City. But, she will never debate - that would be the end. McCain is impulsive, volatile and kind of mean down to the bone these days. It is really looking like early dementia to me - I watched my dad turn very quickly into a mean, racist, impulsive ass with a temper that would go off on a dime - but it was not the man I knew all my life - it was the result of early Alzheimer's. I really hope that it isn't, but damn - it looks like it.
Palin can be described in two words: Dan Quayle.
What's this? Palin's a retard and the connies are figuring it out?
Karin Byars @ 13:
Maybe she should have "blinked".
I don't feel sorry for her. She's a grown woman who's delusions of grandeur got the best of her. I feel sorry for the truly talented republican women who will now wait a lot longer for their shot at bigger and better things because of this farce.
$700 billion says she'll never debate
By the way, I've got a pal who's in the landscape binness and when the half-yard bucket on his skip loader developed a bad crack, I suggested he examine Scarah's jaw for a replacement, since shes gonna need a real job someday...
SURPRISE! (not!)
That was OT and you know it. But its your sandbox.
The other alternative is Rudy who will talk about his vast experience as mayor of New York City.,
rudy'd not take it now, when his firm stands to make millions and millions in the rectification process after the "credit crisis" is funded...
Political Animal has a great discussion of Palin's comments about passports:
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2008_09/014908.php
Come on. She is pro-gun, anti-abortion, and loves Jesus. For many r/w voters, that is enough. Just because some GOP heavyweights are getting nervous about Sarah, it doesn't mean the rank and file GOP, Evangelical voter is. Even if she comes off looking dumber than a log in a debate, they will prefer her. Come on - they didn't vote twice for GWB because of his brains.
[Topic: Conservatives starting to panic about Palin. Site Monitor]
This is what you get when you mix religion and politics.
She was the hand picked choice of the agents of intolerance and McCain had to cave to their demands if he wanted their support.
The Repugs should be mad at Dobson, Lehay,Scaith et al for forcing Palin onto the ticket.
She wasn't smart enough to say, "No" when she was asked to join the ticket. She's clueless to her own un-electability. She has the arrogance of ignorance. I'm sure she believed that she was the missing piece to the presidential puzzle, Yup, Yup.
I agree that "Cut and Run" McCain used her, but she was a willing participant.
I honestly thought that McCain couldn't have made a worse choice than Lieberman, but then Palin came along. I was and remain astounded.
Do you think that they're trying to tank this election? Did Bush the lesser fu(k things up so badly that they want a Democrat to choke on it?
Fanon @ 9:
Agreed. No need to pour gasoline on a house already ablaze. Every time she opens her mouth, it gets worse. Let her bring herself down: she's doing a great job of that on her own. Biden needn't say a thing, not yet.
Sorry to interrupt, but this is too wild to miss:
Man crosses English Channel at 125 mph in 10 minutes with homemade wings and four tiny homemade jets.
And on topic:
If Palin becomes our VP the US will never live it down.
Jay Severin Has A Small Pen1s @ 2:
She has man jaws. I bet she looks like Coulter in the throat. You know, the big adams apple look. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. To me she does look like a real dog!
I hope she stays with the McOldie campaign. She is like a large cement block tied on a rope to McOldies leg out in the middle of a lake. They both can go down together.
Jay Severin Has A Small Pen1s @ 2:
Then feel free to masturbate. Just don't vote for her.
Just a word of caution here.
This may be all part of a massive Lowering Expectations Plan™ by the GOP, timed to peak at the time of the VP debate. They're very very good at this.
If she manages to not be a complete embarrassment vs Biden, look for all of the MSM to be positively ecstatic and swooning once again...
And for her not to speak to the press again...
and McCain gains 5 points in the polls.
The sad thing about this?
McCain made this choice for purely political reasons............not for a second did he think about the country. This was all about making a choice that would help him win the election.
Contrast that with Obama's pick of Biden. Biden is absolutely qualified for the VP job, and could easily be the President. He provided strength against Obama's weakness; and he's a solid choice in anyone's book.
McCain has made his bed, and now he's going to have to sleep in it. The right thing to do for everyone concerned is admit the mistake and have Palin bow out gracefully. But that will never happen.
Oh well............sucks to be McCain!
Fanon @ 21:
Being offered a a VP slot must be Botox for your blinking muscle, go figure!
Don't count her out.
People don't love her because she knows all the right answers.
The average American voter doesn't know the right answers.
They vote for people they identify with and feel comfortable with.
That's why during the debates, Bush lost the arguements, and won the elections.
McCain, and possibly even Palin, could easily do the same.
Believing your own bullsh*t makes you look decisive, leaderlikem, strong and authentic: Bush, McCain
Analyzing, detailing, and explaining make you look indecisive, insincere, shifty and elitist: Gore, Kerry, Obama.
Fanon @ 10:
Kennedy has been taken to a hospital. According to MSNBC.
The wheels've done come off the choochoo.
But she energizes the base! But she's a reformer who took on the big boys! She's just playing possum in the interviews and will cut Biden to pieces in the debate!
If she does drop from the ticket, I'd like to see the rightwing heads explode as they are confronted with the fact that McCain's "brilliant" choice wasn't so brilliant after all.
Of course, they'll write about how it was the liberal media who did her in.
xoites defends Constitution @ 35:
Ha ha. Pull the lever for her, just don't pull the lever for her....
Kathleen Parker says: "It was fun while it lasted."
FUN!?? This has all been for KP's entertainment?!! Choosing a person for VP means choosing someone FUN!!!?
Somebody needs to fire her sorry ass.
Kathleen Parker:
"It was fun while it lasted."
No. It wasn't. America needs to get serious. Right now, you all look like Hillbillies (not C&L-ers.) Clueless. Laughing stock of the planet. Incompetent. Not interested in the other 6,500,000,000 people here. Never to be trusted again.
ScrewedRUs @ 30:
regardless of this vp fiasco choice, it's very apparent that bush/cheney are
definitely trying to destroy the nation's economy and constitution.
they are total fascist fuckers.
HA HA HA HA HA..................SuperM.I.L.F is hurting you repubs. Palin all the way my a$$. She can see Russia from her door step. So don't worry...... she is fit to lead.
Crooks and Liars Webmaster -- Palin's Couric interview is devastating.
It must be permanently posted at the top of your home page until Nov. 4.
People must see this.
I have to believe that many conservatives who profess "Country First" will be forced to reconsider their support of McCain.
McCain's judgement is what is most frightening. Sarah Palin is simply in way over her head. She's the perfect neo-con candidate. Easily manipulated by her advisors. Cocksure like 'W' with a Cheney worldview. Scary. Scary.
Evangelicals will be praying for McCain's demise if elected... the Rapture the Rapture.
Would you please stop calling her a hockey mom. Her status as a mom has absolutely nothing to do with her lack of qualification or competence.
McCain is also unqualified and incompetent but one never refers to him as a dirty rich jet setting dad.
They were for the Bitch to Nowhere before they were against her.
xoites defends Constitution @ 32:

Thom Jeff @ 36:
EXACTLY. Pay attention people, they are LOWERING EXPECTATIONS. This is the way to win a debate that you can't win - by not losing as badly as everyone thought you would. Tricksy hobbits.
I hope this idea spreads and McAlzheimers picks another running mate.
McOldguy is scary enough on his own, but the idea of him dead and her in office is the scariest scenario i can think of.
La donna è troppo spaventosa per essere in ufficio.
Goda del dibattito,
ciao
johnny the hero picked her. What do you expect? You don't expect smart from someone that couldn't have graduated his college at the bottom without a lot of help from above, and his peers likely ordered to do his work for him. He crashed 5 planes and was in the air for 20 hours over Viet Nam. Anyone else get it yet? He is as clueless and unqualified as the idiot boy he wants so badly to replace. You don't really think he would choose anyone that would show him up do you? yes, he even did that.
if he isn't a moron, he is the most easily bribed you will find, or is a puppet. What choice is there remaining with a senator that has been avoiding service for so long? 26 years. Never wrote a banking bill and he is the chairman of a committee that deals with the economy. Admits he doesn't know much about economics. What exactly does he know anything about? Has anyone found out? Helped wipe out the savings of thousands of people with Keating 5. Why? He got paid to do it. He is a crook. Hope someone asks him, maybe he will forget what they told him to and admit it.
This is what happens when you don't properly vet a candidate let alone vet her at all.
This happened because:
1. They were panicking about the sucess of the DNC.
2. They were pandering to the religious right so much that they allowed them to choose the VP candidate.
3. Possibly McCain's impulsiveness at work again.
You know what cracks me up; even super-bimbo Paris Hilton has more brains than Palin.
JD @ 56:
i agree the power of perception. if people could think
for themselves. the debates are important but i believe
somewhat over rated. having said that i say hit mccain
hard NO mercy obama.
Scott @ 40:
You are right. She has the right way to answer. Talking points. Keith noted the other day. All she has to do is fill in the blanks when key words are given to her. I can't understand why no one is ever called on not answering the question posed. It would seem like a very good move against her rote repetition of the talking points fed to her by the campaign. Reflect her answer back to her and ask if she answered then ask her again! Then you'd really see the dear in the headlights look that beauty contestant types generally have.
If anyone thinks McCain is in charge, I have bridge I'll let you have cheap. There hasn't been a republican president in the last 30 years that was in charge. They all have been talking heads for greater powers behind them. Hell, Ronald Reagan slept through most of his last term.
As for Hockey Mom, just give her some more rope, there's lots more rakes to step on...
I mean, is it just me, or do your toes curl when Palin answers a question? She is, I don’t know, so painfully vacuous…
And just so Republicans don’t have to look up the word vacuous…
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)
vac•u•ous [vak-yoo-uhs] –adjective
1. without contents; empty
2. lacking in ideas or intelligence
3. expressing or characterized by a lack of ideas or intelligence; inane; stupid
The Very Bitter Ceci Hussein @ 8:
It seems to be true. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20080926/kennedy_hos...
I am worrying this is all not true and that the McCain campaign is just planting the ultimate lowest of low expectations on us. Can she be this bad? I mean everyone who was paying attention and reading about her knows how corrupt she is and how she would NOT likely be a friend of ours....hell even her friends aren't voting for her! She's a vile creature of a candidate and a flawed person. How can she have gotten this far if she was also "clueless"? Can it really be true? Be still my beating heart - she is TOTALLY HOT!!
You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig.
outtheoffice @ 46:
Looks like the Alaskan Lady Macbeth is even worrying the Repubs. So much for galvanising women and picking up the Hillary votes. She's not fit to iron Hillary's pantsuits. Barn. Door. Shut. Horse. Bolted.
JD @ 56:
I dunno. In order for my expectations to go any lower i would have to be shown a video of her crawling under a table, sticking her fingers in her ears screaming, I can't hear you!" at the top of her voice to avoid a question.
If i see that before the debate they may fool me. Then again they may not.
Maybe she'll be involved in a moose hunting "accident".
Karin Byars @ 14:
I don't really feel too sorry for her and when I do, I listen to her speech at the RNC, including her criticizism of Obama for being a community organizer and her BS about "thanks, but no thanks for that Bridge to Nowhere". She is hateful and mean-spirited. She is a grown woman, a politician, and she knew, somewhat, what she was getting into. Her ambition was much greater than her competence and she truly thought she could fool most of the people. It almost worked too.
Now, she has quite possibly ruined her entire career. Whoever runs against her for governor will have plenty of ammo to nail her with.
You can put lipstick on a pit bull, but she's still a pig.
CMINCA @ 59:
McCain is that kind of creepy old man that wants that hot little secretary to lust after. His wife is young enough to be his daughter. I think he totally picked her; becuase, he thought she'd be hot in the sack. I think he's kind of like O'reilly where he wants to surround himself with hot looking younger women and make sexual advances at them.
Maldoror @ 69:
Yeah. She's just about stupid enough to go 'hunting' with The Dick.
CMINCA @ 70:
Not to mention she was blessed by a "Witch Hunter" who drove a woman out of her village in Africa.
I don't feel sorry for her, i feel sorry for us!
While I admire some of the wingnuts fessing up to not being impressed with Palin, it only makes them look all the more stupid. These are primarily the same people who backed her immediately without knowing the slightest thing about her. They praised her and to an extend still do, they are just saying she is a PR disaster. When your instincts pan out to be dead wrong, it is probably better to just be quiet and keep it to yourself. They are admitting that they are complete fools, yet still want to provide their so-called wisdom on other matters.
All that are having this sudden unease should be reminded of their fine judgement each time they preach about something in the future.
Scott @ 39:
sounds good but the reality palin's response/answer
was poor syntax....it was nonsensical. i didn't have to
be told it was nonsensical. i knew soon as i listened to the interview.
this is more than once. sure people 'love' her and they
are living in a world of self- deception. the reality is palin could be president and soon. that's concern for many of us. palin isn't taking random questioning from press now we see why.
The Very Bitter Ceci Hussein @ 8:
Yes.
miss_kitty @ 73:
Yeah, I can just see it now.
Cheney: Wah...Wah...Wah... would you like another beer hotty...
Palin: Hey Dick... Can I... Would it be O.K. If I held your gun?
The Very Bitter Ceci Hussein @ 8:
Yes, true
Queen Esther called and she wants her lipstick back!
Thinker @ 18:
I haven't quite finished reading this, but it is about the 2000 campaign and "The Trashing of John McCain" and how that works into his campaign in 2008. Ruthless Republicans. Just unbelievable.

Speaking in tongues can be subconsciously triggered, or so I've read.
Can anyone quote a passage in the Bible that refers to witches?
"Turn out the lights, the party's over"
Sara, don't let the doorknob hit you in your ass as your leave.
PS-would the LAST republican loser in Washington, please turn off the lights?
Carol @ 79:
Tweety just said he'll go home tonight and probably watch the debate.
Channel 4 News Team @ 82:
Been there, done tat. It is not subconsciously triggered. It is peer pressure plain and simple.
The McPain Kampf is putting this out, just to lower the bar* so much, that if she can put two meaningful
sentences together in the VP debate, the news the next day will range from..
she did fine to SHE WON THE DEBATE!
*remember how GWB won the debate because they lowered the expectations so low
Who the hell is Kathleen Parker? And how did she get a job as a columnist - even for The National Review??
Any person, especially a supposedly educated, articluate woman, should have known immediately that Sarah Palin has no business being nominated for VP. I did! She has limited education, no knowledge base, is inarticulate, and has absolutely no experience outside of Alaska. Her "executive" experience in the PTA, as mayor, and as gov. of Alaska fo 1.5 yrs. is pretty much equivalent to being manager of the county I live in in PA.
I don't know who decided she should be put on the Repug ticket - I suspect a misogynistic bunch of male cretins, hoping to put the political aspirations of brilliant, articluate, accomplished females on the back burner for good.
Thanks John, Sarah and Kathleen >> for Nothing!
Karin Byars @ 14:
feel sorry for her???? fuck no
anyone with an ounce of brains would have turned down mccains offer
palin was a rising star in the repug party and very well couldve gained national office in 4-6 years, but chose to follow her faux god, who told her that this was the plan for her to bring the end times
she is more than a laffing stock....she is a crook, and her political career is dead
and no, she will not drop out
mccain is too stubborn for that, and she is too crazy to think that she has no clue
i do not believe the woman is stupid....she has climbed the political ladder in alaska, doing the things one must do
after mccain fails to win the election, she will return to a pretty unhappy alaska
she will be a one term governor, and then can go witch hunting with muthee
fuck her...fuck mccain
Fanon @ 21:
Me too!
I suspect ALL the Repug VP possibles had something in their closets which could have leaked out later. Huckabee, Romney....
Dimmest bulb in the Republican chandelier. Not a lot of high wattage bulbs in that fixture to begin with.
some of you people think palin is 'hot'....this is hot
and mccain met her in montenegro

Fanon @ 9:
Obviously, the Obama campaign has read Sun Tzu, and knows how to use the tactics. The mcbush camp has only read the stuff written by American english authors because to do otherwise would be supporting the terrorists.
you guys are missing something pretty obvious;
mccain's campaign is being thrown under the bus by republicans
now why is that?
bush is clearly a bigger moron the palin yet they find it in themselves to undermine mccain's campaign, they don't find it in themselves to go after the bigger and easier target, bush
something is going on here, they are definately undermining mccain and I can't yet figure out what they are up to
woody, tokin librul @ 23:
LOL ... that just cost me some coffee shot though my nose onto my keyboard ... back later this morning......
Maybe someone else has mentioned this already upthread, but let's not make this an issue of not voting for Palin because she is inept. Let's make this an issue of not voting for McCain because he was inept in choosing an inept running mate. If we focus on Palin being the problem, when she gets bumped from the ticket and replaced, we may lose the strong issue of being able to use McCain's poor judgment against him.
My prediction, not that it matters, is that the Republican ticket on November 4 will not include either McCain or Palin.
chicano2nd @ 40:
Thank you all very much. I appreciate it.
me to me @ 95:
republicans are also calling obama more presidential, better suited, "mccain blinked" etc
something big is going on right now, I am taking hypothesis on just what that might be because I cannot figure it out yet
Wdav @ 91:
I suspect ALL the Repug VP possibles had something in their closets which could have leaked out later. Huckabee, Romney….
Maybe all Republicans in high office do, but there must be a Republican out there somewhere who can qualify as a VP candidate and not be a crook.
Or am i wrong?
me_over_here @ 67:
íDe nada!
That crazy ol' coot, McPow. Because of his selfish, craven ambition, he has dragged this li'l missy from the obscure backwoods of Alaska, into the wild lion's den of national politics where she will surely be devoured in quick order by the wooly Biden. One can't help but to feel a tinge of pity for the poor damsel, but this is the big leagues, she agreed to be the rag-doll, so the show must go on.
Utterly clueless. You can see why she connects so well with the Republican base.
me to me @ 100:
Perhaps they know they broke the American System and want to hand the broken down mess to the Dems. a war that's un-winnable, an Economy in the toilet, a name that is no longer respected in the world stage, and a lagging science and technological industry being over-run by many other nations.
I kinda like the caption Olberman used on his last Palin piece: Baked Alaskan
look for lieberman to replace her shortly.
Was Palin reading her talking points from a Blackberry or something during the Couric interview? She looked down about every five seconds when answering. And pretty much each time she looks down, she changes to a new talking point.
Did you see CNN's Jack Cafferty comment upon her performance? It's a treat to watch his evaluation of it. Highly recommended, since he also smacks down Wolf at the end for trying meekly to excuse Palin's dismal showing.
She got her passport so she could specifically travel down to the lower 48,
and do some foreign policy with us foreigners here in the USA.
Of course McCain wasn't born on US soil either. He was Born in Panama! NOT A
NATURAL BORN US CITIZEN! Maybe she's adding Magoo as one of her Foreign
Leaders she has worked with Too!
But the Pugs will say, "Her dumb like me. Me like her good."
Gee, I wonder why they want to "postpone" the debates...
zdta @ 28:
I am concerned about the "wounded messiah" effect kicking in.
Moderate @ 86:
I also thank you both for the quick update. :)
Rumour has it that the Republicans are proposing a new date for the VP debate. Sometime in early December seems to be the earliest possible date their busy economy saving schedules will allow.
Do I feel sorry for Palin? Hell no. She's everything I loath in a person. No humility to boot. As president she would have (or will, shudder) appointed the vilest of the vile to surround her. Think Bork.
She would make a great Mary K or Amway or Tupperware or Avon salesperson, possibly.
You must all be "bad guys". LOL.
I am waiting for her to say - white means good, black means bad.
Vote for the whitest guy on the face of the earth.
me to me @ 100:
OK, here is my hypothesis;
McCain is gonna bail, they are throwing Palin under the bus so she does not take the presidential spot.
McCain's health is probably getting too obvious to avoid, his mental capacities were below average before he became an old man, he has not aged well, intellectually or physically
I think they are going to get him to bail, Romney/liarman to the rescue
dadams @ 6:
She must be exhausted. Alaska government is only is session 60 days a year and they were "Where's Sarah" pins because she is a no show. Drawing per diem for living at home. Pig with lipstick Farm.
She should just take Kathleen Parker's advice...but then, it's just too sensible and it also means she will stop getting all the attention she's getting now. Ooo all the cameras flashing at me, Sarah Palin, from the state I'm the executive of, oooo all these flashes is making me stupid, I'm really smart when I'm at home and the dead mooses think I'm smart, really truly. Vote for me cuz those foreign men I met the other day said I'm gorgeous. That should quailified me as Vice President and President In A Heartbeat.
39 days until the voters send this Looney Tune back to great state of Russialaska!

A perfect summary of the GOP mindset if I ever heard one...
McCain/Palin's base supporters will be outside the debate hall http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1844872,00.html
Do not underestimate the abject stupidity of the American people who support the Republicans. Many of them still believe Obama is Muslim, Clinton had Foster murdered and God has chosen Palin to lead us to the end times. If she has one, just one, good interview or moment in the public arena, support will surge her way. The Right wants so much to believe in this ticket. Even though she is a complete moron, which I predicted based on her pageant experience alone, they will still see her as "one of them" because so many of them are retarded. Yes, I am mean but it works for me.
It should be noted that K-Lo, being the wingnut editor that she is, still defended Palin, saying that she just needs to let loose and be herself, and Americans will see a great woman shine through.
Since Sadly, No! is her best critic, go there.
Glenn Greenwald: Correction on Sarah Palin
When the focus group was "Focus on the Family," what do you expect?
If Palin is clueless, what does that say about the man who chose her?
I'm tired of feeling sorry for these two turds Mccain and Palin. I just want this election to be over and for these two to vanish from front page news forever.

you are right, rove is clueless too
I want to know: Does Palin know what the Governor of Alaska does? If she can't even through a load from the silo about what a governor would do that relates to foreign relations, trade, shipping, and foreign relations does she really know what a governor does?
palins pipeline to nowhere

Do not underestimate the Republican resolve to win the election, even if it means altering the ticket. If the rightwing loses the White House, it also loses control of nominating federal judges for at least four years.
They'll keep Palin on the ticket as long as they can, then dump her for another veep nominee close enough to the election that the media can do no proper vetting of the person. Instead of focusing on issues, the media will again be caught up in the novelty of it all.
Then, if McCain wins, he'll step down soon afterward for "health" reasons, or he'll be carried from the Oval Office on a gurney. One of the two.
To be honest, I didn't think she would be this bad. I knew she wouldn't be brilliant, but I figured she at least have enough for any rational person to chew on. I throw up in my mouth a little when I see hard core supporters still spitting out that she's "more experienced than Obama." Well... it looks like Obama has at least accomplished things without buying off, firing, or just plain bullying.
A woman's *got* to know her limitations. She shoulda stayed home making Bristol's life a living hell rather than trying to take on something so vastly above her ability.
Alice @ 122:
You are dead on. Moron America is cheering for her as an underdog, totally willing to overlook her shortcomings. She's the hope that they see for themselves after years of slaving at dead-end jobs with little education, now for even less money and less ability to make ends meet.
Never mind that Palin will, of course, NEVER improve their lot--they can't see ANY of that. They simply think that if she can succeed, THEY can succeed.
Very sad.
If McCain cuts Palin loose RUDY will get the VP.
Rudy and hid wife have been jetting around on McCain's plane since he left DC.
AND....Rudy Giuliani’s is positioning his law firm to cash in on Wall Street’s train wreck
http://www.nydailynews.com/new.....flect.html
AND Rudy has been traveling with McCain on his jet since they left DC.
Palin had it coming to her. Whoever thought that this woman deserved to be a V.P. nominee deserves to be fired. It only shows how warped the thinking is within the GOP camp. Furthermore, it also demonstrates the lack of respect the republicans have for this country by picking her.
They have insulted so many levels of society with Gov. Hockey Mom that they ought to be speechless.
I agree with the camp of not feeling sorry for her. She knew the score when she entered into this race. She probably thought that this was going to be like another beauty pageant. But, to her surprise, this ended up her very own little special hell with cherries on top.
Miss Teen South Carolina. Only more dangerous.

This week Limpbaugh spent a whole show saying since Obama Father is a Muslim he is a Muslim - it is by blood.
Keith made him the worst person in the world on Thursday about that.

He doesn't have to. Just give her enough rope.
"People on the inside of the McCain campaign are saying she is clueless."
God, don't tell the right wing of the Republican party that. She's just being picked upon because interviewers are asking her questions that they consider trick questions. The poor lady. Anything past name, rank and serial number appears to be a trick question.
I was thinking what I would have said when Katie Couric asked the question about why living near Russia would somehow help in foreign relations. I would have said that I was flustered when the question was first asked....that it was my first big national interview with Charlie Gibson. I would have admitted that up until now foreign relations weren't my strong suit, but that I was studying hard and learning more every day. By the time Inauguration Day rolled around, I would hope to be up to speed on lots of subjects, and would continue to learn more as my term progressed. Now how hard was that? I thought of it in about 30 seconds. This lady obviously doesn't think well on her feet, and the campaign sure isn't doing much to help her.

He loves wannabe beauty queens?

Todd thought he was about to pawn her off the nation. He's probably going back on medication right about now.

The Con-Servatives should panic, Palin is just another example of an empty headed puppet for corporate interests. The conservative followers ( not the leaders) been sold a bill of goods with this trickle down economy crap, and they who voted these criminal scam artists into power are loosing all our hard earned money.
I just finished my latest animated collaboration with J. Meritt called "Free market baloney!" A cartoon history of the Con-Servative movement from Regan to today's finical crisis. here's the you tube link;

Never happen. McCain's poor judgement for picking her in the first place will be front and center only to Backtrack Express later. He's stuck with her.
In 39 days she should be back to chasing talking snakes out of the garden.
Peter G @ 113:
After martial law is declared and Lord Cheney is back front and center, they know they'll have the captive audience Palin has to have to be appreciated.
One of the best things about this is that it is a direct reflection Bill "the bloody" Kristol's political intelligence.
The fact that he championed, and put-forward the unforgettable Dan Quayle should have been the last time anyone listened to him -- BUT NOOOOO -- the fact that Kristol backs truly innane (but moldable) losers - got by the other idiots in the party.

Thank you for the linkage of the news story. I appreciate it. I just wanted to know what were the specifics of this event. I just didn't want anything more drastic to happen on the night of this historical debate. :(
Poor thing jumped into the deep end of the political pool and don't know how to swim, somebody throw her an anchor.
