Sadly, Rep. Adam Schiff was censured by the House Republicans. The resolution will probably die in the House Ethics Committee, especially since Schiff is giving up his seat at the end of his term in order to run for the Senate.

But Goldman’s comments should live forever to remind us of how the “party of law and order” has become the party of corruption and treason.

Goldman began by sarcastically pointing out that evidence of Donald Trump’s collusion with Russia was not just a figment of Schiff’s imagination but based on evidence from the Intelligence Committee, the special counsel investigation, the FBI and the judge ruling on FISA applications.

Then Goldman got serious: “All he did was properly impeach the president of the United States for his gross abuse of power,” Goldman said. Then he referenced Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s very suspicious behavior: “You want to talk about collusion? Let me ask my Republican colleagues, if a campaign manager for a campaign is giving internal information to a Russian intelligence agent, is that collusion?”

We all know Republicans will think it's collusion only if Democrats do it. But I don't think that should stop Dems from highlighting at every opportunity what the GOP is endorsing.

That is exactly what Goldman did, especially with his final words, en fuego. Responding to a Republican who claimed the censure resolution was an effort to “hold members accountable,” Goldman shot back, “You are the party of George Santos! Who are you holding accountable? The guy is an alleged and acknowledged liar and indicted and you protect him every day!”

“Don't lecture us with your projection and your defense of Donald Trump,” Goldman continued. “It's pathetic and it's beneath you and it's beneath this body.”

Amen.
