"...when he came to the place where the wild things are they roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws till Max said "BE STILL!" and tamed them with the magic trick of staring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once and they were frightened and called him the most wild thing of all..." - Maurice Sendak, Where the Wild Things Are.

Obama sails away a night and a day from the FOX Wild Things: Beck, O'Reilly, Coulter, Hannity, and Kristol.

One of my favorite books as a child is still a well known classic today. Amazing.

this is on the book list. It's a grad class in Graphic Art/picture books and will probably be heavily influenced by ideologies, knowing the professor and what she assigns. Yes, there's a lot of propaganda fed to our children in some rather innocuous places.

...I wouldn't blame him.

I'm one of your faithful 20% followers who will do everything I can to change your percentage of followers. Keep doing what you do and we are guaranteed to get the changes we deserve.
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

NH approves gay marriage. Does the U.S. really plan to start withdrawal from Iraq @ the end of June? Barry just had to ruin the "bipartisan" fun and bring up public health care. McCain's on the same page with Obama on nuclear disarmament. The U.S. broke its own rules of engagement on its recent bombing raid in Afghanistan. The jobless rate will continue to go up in May. The feds reveal the locations of sensitive nuclear sites online. A Chicago officer gets a light sentence for beating a female bartender while drunk. A Gitmo detainee dies of suicide.
And N. Korea is applying the same methods to prosecute our journalists. Rape is a problem in Darfur.

...considering subjects in the topic, I'm surprised some of our more imaginative frothy-mouthed neanderthals on the right haven't tried to make the argument that America's growing embrace of gay marriage isn't something that makes terrorists target us. Doesn't that seem like something insane that Beck or Limbaugh would say, oblivious that they are identifying with radical extremist terrorists?

is that means they would have to admit to agreeing with the terrorists on the subject of homosexuality.

If there is anything I learned during the bush years, 6 degrees of separation still count!

another black person who died at the hands of whites and they go completely free. Par for Amerryka!

So what are you talking about?

When? I totally missed this!
I fuckin HATE that shit!

They really are like out of a story book aren't they. Hey, story books end, right?

Of course the Rush/O'Reilly/Beck/Hannity/Cheney cabal don't want Obama to succeed because it will underline forever how massively they failed.

That makes sense.

They are just cowardly idiots.
republicanism is a mental illness. hahahahahahahahaha!

Those of you who'd followed my last blog may remember that I did a series called "Boolean Bozoism", a list of some of the most incomprehensible and insane search engine phrases that were used to find my blog.

Well, a year after I started up my current one, I began doing a search phrase safari and it looks like teh unwashed masses of the internets at it again. This time I went back six months and chose only the best and worst for posterity, with a running commentary, of course.

Personally, I'd love to see more people do this with their blogs.

Cheney and bin Laden need each other to exist.

U.S. states to lead in creating high-speed rail: Biden - http://www.portfolio.com/business-news/reuter...

VP Biden tells governors to plan for rail-line stimulus money - http://www.philly.com/inquirer/local/20090604...
Citing the creation of jobs and other "long-term economic and environmental consequences," Biden said a national effort to build high-speed rail lines could transform national transportation much as the building of the interstate highway network did in the 1950s and 1960s.

S.E.C. Accuses Countrywide’s Ex-Chief of Fraud - http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/05/business/05...
Angelo R. Mozilo, the Bronx-born businessman who built Countrywide Financial into the nation’s largest mortgage lender before it was knocked down by the credit crisis, has been charged with securities fraud and insider trading in a civil suit brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Note: Why do we not see more of these companies, including the bank CEOs being charged with securities fraud? Something is rotten in zee ole Denmark.

Obama's "interference" in Israeli politics - Glenn Greenwald - http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2009/0...
Identically, if Israel wants to be free of what it and some of its U.S. supporters call "interference" from the Obama administration, that’s very easy to achieve: Israel can stop asking for tens of billions of dollars of American taxpayer money, huge amounts of military and weapons supplies for its various wars, and unyielding American diplomatic protection at the U.N.
But as long as Israel remains dependent on the U.S. in countless ways, then Obama not only has the right -- but he has the obligation -- to demand that Israel cease activities which harm U.S. interests.

The ABCs of antiabortion activism - http://www.salon.com/mwt/broadsheet/?last_sto...
The murder of Dr. George Tiller has opened up a Pandora's box for pro-lifers, giving rise to all sorts of troublesome questions about the culpability of lenient law enforcement and the movement itself.
They certainly won't find salvation from Pandagon's Amanda Marcotte, who got her mitts on a disturbing antiabortion activist handbook from Justice for All that lays bare some of the lies, deception and cynical manipulation that might have led to Tiller's assassination.
It's now online for your reading displeasure.

Chinese Company's Hummer Buy Raises Questions - http://www.economyincrisis.org/articles/show/...
Tengzhong is just a four year old company with under 5,000 employees and no experience in manufacturing passenger vehicles. .... Hummer, which exemplified American overindulgence for nearly a decade, was sold to a little-known Chinese machinery company yesterday as part of General Motor’s restructuring plan, paving the way for the entry into the U.S. auto market by a Chinese company for the first time ever.
SO, now all you morons driving hummers...you're not only killing your kids future off, you're financing the 'chi-coms'..... Proud to be an american? Still got that 'support the troops' magnet (also made in china) on the back?

I met an American girl today that told me about her Baptist family in small town Ohio. Last time she was home she told them she is not a Christian. I told her that took a lot of courage. She doesn't feel at home in America anymore. It's too scary. She's much happier in Korea.

The American diaspora.

If things continue to spiral downward with no hope for free thinkers.
I will move to Europe. And try to take my family with me.

We're going to keep in touch. She was so happy to meet a sane and extremely liberal person, that's way outside the box.

I'm moving to Europe (from Seoul) in August. One day I might get back to Canada, but the world is so damn interesting, especially once you get off the 'ferris wheel'.
