When asked about the dangers of AI, Trump told the media that the country should not fear the development of artificial intelligence because the CEOs of major tech companies who joined him for lunch love America and love the world.
Isn't that comforting?
Earlier today, Trump held a White House lunch with Tech executives who signed a supposedly "morally binding" constitution on artificial intelligence that would ensure its safety by using their own self imposed guardrails.
Q: Mr. President, tell us why the world should not be concerned about AI, why there shouldn't be guardrails.
TRUMP: Because we have people that love our country and love the world a lot.
Q: But it requires more than love, doesn't it, sir?
TRUMP: No, it requires this. And they're the smartest people in the world.
And we had a great meeting today.
Every one of them. We had a great, really a great, great meeting. It was something very, very special. We had the top, I'd say it looked like a group of about 40, but whatever it was, here's one of them right here. Jensen and NVIDIA.
And they they love our country.
They love the world.
Many in attendance had already donated tens of millions of dollars to Trump already and he was happy to see them.
Politico reported that some of those in attendance were, "former AI czar and venture capitalist David Sacks, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, OpenAI’s Greg Brockman, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and SpaceX’s Elon Musk."
Titans of industry already know that by massaging Demented Donald's massive and diseased narcissistic ego while donating pennies of their wealth, they can get him to perform like a trained monkey.
It's funny how no one mentioned these same executives' cry for help on slowing down the pace of the AI race. Instead we get a "morally binding" document from a bunch of billionaires with few morals to be seen anywhere.
Zuckerberg had a lot to say too.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said outside the White House that the framework is built around companies having “robust internal controls” including internal risk reviews, third-party auditors and a review of the audits by each company’s board of directors.
“The idea isn’t that this is the only thing that we will ever do,” he said. “It is that this is a start and an accord that the whole industry could come to.”
We have an accord! Zuckerberg's "robust internal controls" on his Meta platforms have resulted in myriad lawsuits for the harm the lack of controls has wreaked on users.
If President Biden answered a serious question so ludicrously, the press would have called for his immediate impeachment.
