Step Up 3: The Streets (of DC)

Loved it!!

...but even the other candidates trouble me somewhat.
Bobby (Brady) Jindal, lol

Does Sonny Perdue also speak in tongues, forked or otherwise?

Enquiring minds need to know about about shizzle like this!

Once the exorcist thing makes the airwaves en masse. Methinks that normal American's will react to that about as well as they did Kucinich's UFO thing.

and I'm not a praying man by nature

whole talking in tongues, end times loving, witch hunting pastor crap did not play well in middle America...no matter how religious a normal person is. Jindal's exorcism will be at par.

But if you pray, darlin', I will give you an AMEN! :-)

:)

you're my soul sister, MsJoanne

)O(

Couldja make it an ABABE?

54 more banks added to the "watch list."

Scientist calls for total decarbonization.

Flat Dr. Pepper?

Uhm

NO.

Diet Pepsi! Only diet Pepsi! Period. ;-)

If anyone has ever had a servicemember stationed oversesas than you know how tough it is to have them home for the holidays. If anyone is interested in helping out go here.

http://www.lbeh.org/?home

about making these service people pay their own way home for the holidays.

We have a 50/50 policy about holiday leave so some cannot come home. But we tried to accomodate as many as possible.

take airline miles as well, or just cash?

Yes

They take airline miles, PayPal, checks, wampum, whatever you can spare.

I am not involved with the charity, just a donor.

Since the holidays are coming, it got me to thinking...I hope Obama does away with all the "faith-based initiative" crap the Bushistas have been wasting taxpayer money on. And how about renewing funding for embryonic stem cell research, too.

I love this bit. I got to perform this once (or a crappier version anyway) on stage in Pearlridge Hawaii - we got some pitty laughs, but our timing sucked!

Still some of the funniest stuff around.

Of how the republicans have a conversation

has one of the best vignettes which repudiates the repugnicants "government is evil" theme. "The Aqueduct" scene from "The Life of Brian" is their hysterical take on people who think government can do nothing right.

Palin's character could've gotten his money's worth at an early point in the proceedings by starting off with something like:

"When I was back there in seminary school, there was a person there
Who put forth the proposition, that you can petition the lord with prayer"

"Now argue that" ;-)

Thank you, BG... That's one of my all time favorite skits...

No it isn't.

...

Yes it is.

...

No it most certainly is not!

...

Is too!

...

Times up!

...

What?!

...

It's been five minutes.

...

No! This is like Fox News! Can't get a word-

...

-In edge wise? Yes you can.

...

Oh! Go fuck yourself!

...

Cut his mike! Cut his mike!

...

You needed two profiles for this, but you still win, sir.

Yes. Two profiles would have made me seem a bit more sane and perhaps a bit less desperate, but no one was playing along and/or I wasn't patient enough to wait for anyone to do so...Drat. :>)

Now

..that parriot I bought from you is DEAD,
No it isn't, it's just sleeping.

...

No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!

...

The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.

..they always sleep upsidedown.
..no they don't!

...

Look, matey, I know a dead parrot when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.

...

He's sleeping. He always sleeps after he rests.

I understand this IS Bolton.

Yes?

You told me it was Ipswitch!

...It was a pun.

A PUN?!?

No, no...not a pun...What's that thing that spells the same backwards as forwards?

A palindrome...?

Yeah, that's it!

It's not a palindrome! The palindrome of "Bolton" would be "Notlob"!! It don't work!!

Well, what do you want?

I'm not prepared to pursue my line of inquiry any longer as I think this is getting too silly!

lol

cracking me up, mr. poetryman

...

No I'm not!

In spite of melamine found in American baby formula, the FDA lies about the safety of the product. China looks for its own George Soros to harass. STFU, Lieberscum. Obama's not making decisions to appease you. A FL judge says an anti-gay adoption law is unconstitutional. Venezuela's already prepping with Russia for WW III. The U.K. is looking into separate and unequal ID cards for foreigners. Guess who's forgotten in the bail-out. It's nice to know Obama's got better priorities than Clinton. Will Congress finally stand up to the Big Three automakers?

From the tainted milk article:

The FDA and other experts said the melamine contamination in U.S.-made formula had occurred during the manufacturing process, rather than intentionally.

Well, that makes it okie dokie then.

And Lieberman is doing a good job sucking up...until the knife comes out and stabs Obama in the back.

Charlotte Higgins (Guardian UK): Barack Obama - The New Cicero

There have been many controversial aspects to this presidential election, but one thing is uncontroversial: that Obama's skill as an orator has been one of the most important factors - perhaps the most important factor - in his victory. The sheer numbers of people who have heard him speak live set him apart from his rivals - and, indeed, recall the politics of ancient Athens, where the public speech given to ordinary voters was the motor of politics, and where the art of rhetoric matured alongside democracy.

"HE COULD BE HANCOCK."

He's probably too busy clinging on to 2012 to sabotage Obama. In fact, he's likely hoping that his constituents will forgive him like they did with Pelosi. But Nancy had the "Republican obstructionist" defense, while Joe doesn't have a thing, except the hope that smoothing things with Obama will be enough to save his tail. He was able to play the "Whatever sounds good to white middle-class families" card for the last 20 years, because he was hiding behind more moderate administrations.

But since November 2000, he picked the wrong ass to kiss, and he's paying dearly for it. Even McCain was savvy enough to occasionally
criticize Dumbya. But Lieberman continued his sucking up, in the hopes that he'd get a good job at or near the top in the near future; and now he's being punished with a worthless gig which will be completely irrelevant, come 2010. Even if we get the last two seats now, his role in attracting "moderate" Republicans to vote Democrat is the only reason he's kept his job. It helps Obama's image, even if he doesn't need the votes. But in two years, the public will unanimously vote Democrat on that end, and Obama won't have to "reach across the aisle".

Oil

Ya'all still think there was a shortage? We've been played again.

Oil

So Lindsey Williams was right.

Did anyone else catch the NPR program about Ooogo (The Hugo Chavez Show)? En-f#ckin-lightening. I blogged it and provided links - "Hugo Chavez Is A Butthorn".

If we can get rid of Dubya, hopefully our pals down South catch a break one day, too. As a pinko libtard, even I can't stand that guy.

I like him. At least he's not knuckling under and recycling his petro-dollars to fuel America's debt. Watch "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and see how the CIA attempted to take him out. Just another demonized leader for the media..

)O(

Does Ooogo drive a Yugo?

Gosh, I can't imagine WHY you'd want to post THAT skit tonight.

Especially when that skit about the Frannie Mae and Freddie Mac method of stimulating home ownership is available for viewing.

.

In the "Spirit of Cooperation"...
... I mean WOW!

.

What have We the PEOPLE won I still am not sure. We still have the same old weak leaders in the SENATE there is Reid and Schumer, they will not hold LIE-berman accountable for any of his BACKSTABING, from Clinton to Gore, Kerry,Enron,Ketrina and more, all they say let bygones be bygones. And then we have the Leaders like Pelosi, and Hoyer in the HOUSE that will not hold Bush and his Crime Family Accountable for any thing from Torture to (TURD BLOSSOM) and all of his crimes are going to Slip Slide away. So my Question is what have We the People won? Obama cannot hold these people Accountable only the House and Senate can. Where is the Progressive WEB sites on this they are very Passive on this.

How hard are the Democrats trying to win Georgia?

Will President Elect Obama be going there to campaign at all?

If not, why not? (Ie is there a downside for the race and/or for him personally as a whole if he goes there?).

The Republicans are sending the kitchen sink to Georgia...

Their 527 groups are pouring money in...

The DNC, DLC, Obama campaign are in a nutshell just 'showing up'...

Most of the Georgia Dems that worked for Obama campaign are pitching in, but it won't beat the onslaught of the right wingnut legions on full attack here.

As a resident of this diebold owned state....I'm not optimistic, and I'm generally a very optimistic person...

To be honest with you, I've voted twice, early, and I'm still not sure if my vote was counted either time...

Hell of a thing to say in the 21st century in a country founded on one 'man'/woman, one vote....

on who you consider democrat.

Bill Clinton was in GA.

Al Gore was in GA.

Obama did a radio ad and a robocall.

I can't imagine that Georgians would appreciate many other people coming to their state. Obama, yes, but it looks like he is pretty busy trying to keep the economy from melting down since Bush is phoning it in.

trying to get out the vote. Overall, she's rather discouraged. Seems that the lack of Obama on the ticket is a big deal for many. People just don't seem enthused to go vote a second time; many people felt that they "did their job" in voting in Obama.

Sounds like Obama is not planning a visit to the state. I'd bet it would really help if he did show.

Randy Shaw: On Cabinet Picks, Obama Savvier than Progressive Critics - http://www.beyondchron.org/news/index.php?ite...
Obama is smarter than many of us, because he understood that his main obstacle come January would be “moderate” Democrats—not Republicans. Such Democrats have assisted Republicans in undermining progressive health care, environmental, and labor reforms, and could have done the same in 2009-10.
Obama realized that implementing progressive measures requires an unprecedented degree of Democratic unity. He is using his appointments to achieve this, and the wisdom of this strategy will soon be apparent.

With fewer than 200 votes now separating Minnesota Democrat Al Franken from embattled incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman, it is now "almost a certainty" that Republicans will use the same tactics they employed in Florida in the wake of the 2000 presidential election to shutdown a recount that is slipping away from them, according to NoVoterLeftBehind.net, an initiative among Democrats to prevent voter suppression.

I catch my train to work when it's still dark out. As I'm walking across the street with my swept back white hair, black Inverness, with the small cape buffeting in the breeze behind me, I'm sure some of the motorists already out are thinking, "It's way too early to be going to work yet. Look, the vampires are still out."

http://www.hendersongroupltd.com/cart/pc/cata...

That's interesting to hear that. Why aren't the Democrats going flat out in Georgia? There's something more important that they should be doing and some other place they should be? I for the life of me can't see exactly what that could be.
