We love seeing the love out on the street! Feel free to send action photos of you and your C&L swag (which benefits the site, needless to say) to crooksandliars AT gmail DOT com.

And thank you for contributing to our Spring Fundraiser. Every dollar counts, especially in today's economy, and we need the dough to pay our server costs. Thanks!

I tried posting this a few times a couple nights ago, but something about the link triggered C&L's spam filter, so here's a different link.

Clearing the smoke: the science of cannabis

Clearing the Smoke investigates the science of marijuana, investigating how cannabis acts on the brain and in the body in medically beneficial ways to treat nausea, pain, epilepsy and possibly even cancer. This programme includes extensive interviews with patients, doctors, researchers and skeptics detail the promises and the limitations of medicinal cannabis.

posted it yesterday, I guess.

anything that has http:// followed by 'watch' goes into the spam filter because of spambots which suggest watching different TV shows.
If you post anything that shows up immediately as deleted, make a comment that points it out. We don't see the deletion happen, so we need to be told about it, then we can let it through, if we're around.

swag available. :P That has been rectified however, and I guess I should have a sticker for my laptop witin the next couple weeks. ;)

This afternoon some little hoodlums came to the mobile home park I live at to beat a little hoodlum who lives here with sticks, and the nice lady who lives in the trailer across from us tried to intervene but ended up fainting. It's that little asshole's fault, he's bringing trouble into the 'hood, and you never know, next time it could be a gun instead of sticks.

And...it's only Thursday. :S

before others do it for him. I hope you have a quiet weekend.

Diametrically opposed is this little story. Good kids, a different country and the love of soccer.

Just keep a low profile during any incidents and be rehearsed for the news people, theres money to be made from giving juicy interviews to the news peoples, the wilder the better.

a million. those kids and that short made my week.

school project which was intended to be a social experiment where she would see what kind of stereotypes and rumors she would be exposed to once the students and faculty learned she was "expecting." The grand finale was an assembly where she had students and faculty read direct quotes that were said about her off of index cards, then she told them she wasn't pregnant and removed her baby bump padding.

Some people have said this was really cruel, the girl's boyfriend's parents spent the last 6 months believing they were going to be grandparents soon, not to mention other people that got emotionally invested in this girl's story.

apes the "Power Of Pride" bumper sticker you often see, but says "Power Of Propaganda", complete with flag in the background.

SC Republican Party: A Gangster's Paradise

This slideshow doesn't mention their ex education secretary, the one who fled to Canada to be with another woman and left her husband and four kids behind. But that is minor GOP stuff compared to the cream displayed here.

Republicans /= party of family values !?

We can all sit here at our keyboards and bitch all we want but it won't accomplish much. I went to an earth day acknowledgement tronight and actually had a very pleasant conversation with the Mayor of Spokane, Wa. before they served hot brats and chips and salads. I met more people that think the same as we do about what's going on in the country. Get involved people, it's worth it.

Theres Uranium in them there central Asian republic hills (one or two countries over).

In a cavern, in a canyon,
Excavating for a mine
Dwelt a (Uranium) miner two thousand and niner,
And his darling Clintontine.

Not to mention several billion dollars worth of Afghan poppy production to guard. And whatever poppy production they do in the other countries nearby, you cannot tell me all those other central Asian republics are squeaky clean (poppy growing) and do not do what the Afghans do.

No wonder Blackwater/Xe is busy busy busy over there doing whatever.

Who would have thought that being the prime conduit for Republican donations in Florida could pay so well !!!!!?

People definitively enter politics for the public service aspect of it...

I enjoyed this batch of mail that Politifact was decent enough to post.

If you don't know the context, Politifact gave a democratic ad a "Pants on Fire" for saying that Republicans voted to "end medicare." Readers'... (and my) problem with the ruling is that.. Politifact seems to think that since the voucher program is still being CALLED medicare, it's not ending... and that a qualifier "as we know it" would've solved the whole thing.

There was some other small complaints such as the "seriousness" of the bill or the insinuation that it DID, in fact, pass, which it did not. Politifact seemed to have very selective use of "qualifier" nit-picking this ruling. Whether they intended for it to pass, or voted on it knowing it would not pass.. does not break the fact that they DID, in fact, vote on it. We would've never accepted some politician saying.. "Well, YES, I voted to make gay marriage illegal. But don't hold me accountable, because I knew it wouldn't pass!"

When I first saw the ruling, I instantaneously thought of metaphors that might contain similar application. Thankfully, I was not the only one. My favorites...

"If a dictator took over a democracy, and rigged the vote so he could always win, would it be a lie to say he ended democracy? Or do I have to say, 'he ended democracy as we know it?"

"If I replace the U.S. Postal Service with a system to distribute FedEx and UPS coupons but get rid of all the actual post offices and mail carriers, I've actually ended the USPS no matter if I keep the name."

A brief PS: Call me biased, but this actually illustrates a distinct difference between the type of complaints liberals send them, and the type of complaints republicans send. One of the letters I will always remember is... "Glenn Beck rules, Politifact drools."

Action Man aka Senator John McCain visits Benghazi yesterday (plus prob an amazing amount of US troops as his security detail). Not much details yet nor any photographs.

Its sounds like they cleared the streets for his visit, no doubt he arrived by US warship as his Senantor status dictates and with 'special forces' troops as security detail (who will stay behind as 'advisors' to the rebels).

Its reported that Predator drones will also be flying over Libya, doing what they do best.

So its going to be a hot summer in Libya this year. depending on how much popular support Gaddfi has amongst Libyans and others outside Libya (aka terrorist types and people who hate the West and Imperialism/intervention), and how quickly his regime falls or survives, things could get very hot in Southern Europe and North Africa.

Storm in a tea cup or another Iraq style bloodbath. Quick or long drawn out, if its long then expect blowback and spill over.

... it's on an Eclipse.

Fine cars, really, but it's the car that always makes you go "OOOH! What's that!" and then go "oh, it's an Eclipse". Great looks, but no guts since they discontinued the AWD turbo model.

And don't get me started on the abuse of the word "spyder". Mitsu's been debasing that term since they applied it to the two ton 3000GT 'vert.

And get off my yard you kids!
