McCain's campaign strategy: The Penguin knows.

I forgot to post the Batman vs. The Penguin, the Debate video clip. Notice anything similar?

Penguin: ...but I intend to stick to the issues. Now what are the issues? There is only one. Batman. Who is he?

Who is that Obama? Has the Penguin been hiding out in Alaska all this time? Only Batman and Sarah Palin know for sure.

Republicans don't want to talk issues. They want to lie, cheat and steal the election.

Oh My!

The similarities are frighteningly close. Holy mother! It goes to show what comic book antics McCain is willing to resort to.

Goodnight, Frau Blücher

McPale's Navy's picture

I didn't know Karl Rove and Rick Davis wrote for that show. Who knew!?

They can't discuss the issues because they will lose every time. so they attack with character assassination.

Let me start off by saying HOLY CRAP Batman!!!

Holy Crap is right!

I think I laughed so hard, I nearly peed my pants! That was Senator McGrampypants to a T.

OOHH that McCain, he's as crooked as a warped shelailey!

...where Sarah Palin's medical records are. Or emails. Or positions on the issues. Or press conference dates.

Thrillhouse's picture

I was just thinking about this earlier today. I've seen reports on McCain, Obama, and Biden's medical histories, but I haven't heard anything about Palin's. I don't really care and I doubt there's anything interesting in there, but if we've got to hear about the other nominees' various exams and maladies, it only seems fair to bring up hers as well.

Xylonjay's picture

The records would most likely indicate that she was never pregnant with lil trigg...

I've done a fair amount of searching and can't find when McCain went to Afghanistan. I know he's been there once with a cadre of politicians. His campaign states he's been there 4 times. Anyone know when exactly?

Orangutan.'s picture

Here is his website. Take a look.. http://www.tinklenberg08.com/

Jo's picture

I have seen this before. Yup. Same Burgess Meredith acting as the Penguin. Has this been posted here before?

Who is Obama? I tell people, he is a Democrat. The Republicans would like to make being a Democrat a crime, but the US is a two-party system. That doesn't make him un-american, or a socialist, or a terrorist. Just a Democrat. Everything else is whoee.

Mr. Bratty's picture

McCain must have been watching Nick at Nite.

metric's picture

Who is he? Hobnobbing with crooks? Yeah, they're called the Senate.

grs's picture

Seriously, McCain's website cites this article Michael Finnegan, "A Trip Full Of Opportunity And Risk," Los Angeles Times, 7/19/08 on his website touting his 4 trips to Afghanistan and 8 trips to Iraq and I can't locate it on the LA Times' site. Not only that, I can't find the specific dates that McCain went to Afghanistan.

Anyone know where I can find that?

grs's picture

Found the article. But no specific dates. This shouldn't be this hard to find.

Jo's picture

Have you tried reaching Michael Finnegan through the L.A.Times?

grs's picture

We'll see if I get an answer.

Jo's picture

You may be on to something.

grs's picture

McCain tried blasting about his foreign policy and then cranked out how he's been to Afghanistan and Iraq. I know he has, but I'm curious when. There's a bit of a difference in timespans between when McCain and Obama could have visited Afghanistan and depending when McCain went and the goals for those trips.

SadButTrue's picture

..not Alaska. Alaska is about as far as you can get from penguin habitat.

Just sayin'. ;-)

Actually, there is a penguin species living on the Equator, around the Galapagos Islands. I know...I've snorkeled with them.

So, technically, your second statement isn't quite correct.

Like the gift which keeps on giving and giving and giving...McCain yet surrounds himself with besmerched Tailhook sleazeball for his interim team.

Is there anyone involved with this campaign who has any decency or integrity? Short answer is absolutely not.

Here's more McCain filth -

This campaign is like a bad dream. I keep trying to wake up, but every day I'm confronted with more crap every day. SOCIALSM! PRO-AMERICAN! THE REAL VIRGINIA! When it end? Jeez!

I hear she thinks Batman is the Cats Meow!

For a second there I thought it was the Nixon v. Kennedy debate.

I keep wondering what it will take for the 'real Americans' (read...intelligent, curious, responsible, patriotic, questioning, moral) to do something to stop the greedy, power-crazed zealots from reducing their country to nothing more than a fascist state.
What has been allowed to happen over the last eight years has been a constant shock to me.
I'm not even an American...but I truly am worried about what the U.S. has been reduced to.
I cannot even fathom what would be your future if John McCain & Sarah Palin are elected to the top two most powerful positions in your country...bottom line, just bend over & kiss your a**es goodbye. Sad.

Even down to the Penguin using the term, "My friends...."

mhtims's picture

That's a pretty good clip showing the cheap political stunts in the McCain campaign today. Pretty sad when a camp, superficial comedy can illustrate your campaign strategy so easily. McCain even has the walk and laugh down.

By the way, Burgess Meredith is fantastic as always.

Anonymous's picture

Have you ever heard McCain's laugh? It's just like the Penguin's!

liu kang wins's picture

That vid from the old batman show was all too close to what poltics has become, we are so screwed!

Thrillhouse's picture

McCain's campaign has been complaining about all of those small donations to the Obama campaign and how we just don't know who those people giving under $200 are. I think it's supposed to be some type of scare tactic. What I know for sure is that I just upped my total contributions to the Obama/Biden campaign to $205 so McCain can know who I am. I wasn't planning on giving more than my first $50, but if it makes McCain feel better, I'll make the necessary sacrifices.

Anonymous's picture

I also love the moderator. I believe that is Tom Brokaw.

questioneverything's picture

I do not believe that McCain knows what his own campaign is doing. I think Rove or Schmidt are telling him one thing and putting out another message. If that isn't true, he is the biggest liar on the planet--bigger than Cheney, bigger than Bush. But small, and mean.

Sam's picture

This certainly made it clear--if you drop the t and n, it is Ba-ma

I posted this clip, and a few of the observations you all made here, to my facebook.... hopefully it gives my friends a few laughs, though most of them are braindead neocons (hey... beggars can't be choosers when you live in McCain's homestate, after all)....

Still, here's what I posted after the video clip:

LMAO!

He even says "My Friends"... rambles on about Batman's true nature behind his mask... rambles on about Batman "hobnobbing with crooks" and makes plenty of innuendos about the unsavory characters that Batman hangs around with.... and, MOST SHOCKING OF ALL, if you take away the "T" and "N" from "Batman"... check out what it spells:

-BAMA!!!

It's too close to be a coincidence!!! Elect PENGUIN/PALIN '08!!!

;-PPPP

oh, and we mustn't forget the mudslinging stuff vis-a-vis the "if only Senator Obama debated me in town hall meetings like he said, things wouldn't be so negative" mantra that we've heard as the standby reason why the right's gone especially negative RE: the washed up terrorist/robocalls/he's a socialist/muslim/exotic/not one of us/etc...

"NO MUDSLINGING IN THIS CAMPAIGN!!!!!"

http://crooksandliars.com/media/play/wmv/6616...

------------------------

I wanted to put last night's daily show clip where Stewart mocks McCain's crybaby whining "it's obama's fault for not holding town hall meetings", but I haven't been able to find it anywhere yet. Or was that Colbert? Hard to keep them apart sometimes, to be honest.....

Still, awesome clip! Thanks!

Jim's picture

Did you notice that the penguin says, "My friends?" Just like McCain. Uncanny!

christinev's picture

I'm pretty sure McCain IS running the Penguin Campaign.

t-bone's picture

Funny but I reached the opposite conclusion; it's obvious that the Penguin is running McCain's campaign. And if I recall correctly, Penguins are practically chickens!

Truthseeker's picture

John McCain spent FIVE years in the company of America's enemies. Hardcore communists! And when given a chance to leave did he take it? No, he stayed. John McCain was pallin' around with America's enemies.

Why does John McCain hate America?

bigsean's picture

I think if Sarah Palin released her medical records. We would find
out that she did not have that special needs child she keeps trotting
out. It's her daughters baby.

The Lawman's picture

The similarity is quite uncanny My Friends.

Amitola's picture

Someone should take it and insert McCain's head in the Penguin and Obama's in Batman.

The dialog (until they start playing the stuff over Batman at the end) is very reminiscent of how McCain speaks evry day.

Holy campaign lies - do you think Pig-nose Ricky Davis is plagarizing the Penguin!!??

Burgess Meredith is one of the greatest character actors, if not THE greatest, of all time.

infp's picture

Holy relevance Batman, you make a good point. Since the days of McCarthy and Nixon the Republicans have relied on guilt by association to terrorize the electorate into submission. . . It would be interesting to see Palin in a cat woman outfit trying to mislead Obama and Biden-the-boy-wonder, but I digress.

Anonymous's picture

"tree" states we have a two-party system. That is not true. Our founding documents are party agnostic. A two party arrangement evolved over time, and those parties reinforce it in many ways -- including trying to convince us that it is somehow our "system." For example, the so-called "debates" are run by representatives of the two parties, something they established after the League of Women Voters allowed Perot to participate in our democracy some years ago. It would be very difficult to pull off at this point, but we'd be much better off with several more viable parties. Only then would the people truly have a voice over the entrenched corporatocracy.
