Obama honoring Fitzgerald's request is not good enough for the media

Obama has said that Obama should not talk about the case until next week.
"In the course of those discussions, the US Attorney's office requested the public release of the Transition review be deferred until the week of December 22, in order not to impede their investigation of the governor. The Transition has agreed to this revised timetable for release."
Obama complies with the prosecutor and suddenly the media gets their freak on. Why won't he release the information NOW?
Here's a memo to the press. STFU... OK, I said that because I'm a dirty hippie blogger and I'm told to STFU all the time... As Country Fair explains, Obama is Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
And that's the entire point of Weisman's article - that Obama could have blown off Fitzgerald's request. Yet nowhere does Weisman acknowledge the obvious reality that if Obama did so, the media - probably including Weisman himself - and the Republicans would freak out, accusing him of obstruction. That makes it disingenuous at best to suggest that Obama is to blame for the delay in releasing information about contacts between Obama staff and Blago...
The Villagers are restless and need a scandal fix. Please let Obama be on those tapes... I don't blame them, with all the corruption that went on under the Bush administration that they hardly could find any time to report on. And of course since they were lapdogs for Bush and a Democrat won, now it's time for them to get busy with Teh Journamilism.

The interesting things about this is that NBC bureau chief Mark Whittaker is throwing down the gauntlet to Obama and saying that the press feels it has something to prove after being accused of being Bush lapdogs. And his minion Murray is dutifully carrying the boss's water.
Eight years of relentless harassment and character assassination, during which time the village media felt that Clinton and then Gore were "getting away with too much" because none of the endless GOP generated scandals ever came to anything, and so they had to take him down. Then, in order to "prove" they weren't just childish scandal mongers after destroying Al Gore, they went the other way and laid on their backs and let Bush walk all over them as he oversaw the destruction of the country.
Now, in order to once again "prove" they aren't lapdogs, they are going to pick up right where they left off eight years ago, asking endless questions about inconsequential nonsense and breathlessly speculating about what the inconsequential nonsense might mean until a whole lot of people think there must be something to it or these people wouldn't be talking about it so much.
Sorry, he's clean from this mess, but that hasn't stopped the chattering class from attacking Obama on almost every show. You can bet that when he does release the information, that will not be good enough. I'm sure one of them will latch onto a phrase or an odd wording in a sentence and blow it up as big as they can.
I can't wait for the holidays to get here. We all need a break and I might actually take some time off.

Actually, apathy has more to do with the death of newspapers rather than real (or feigned) outrage at the media.
When we can get information up to the minute or within minutes of the actual event, then why pick up a newspaper every morning. Newspapers (for the most part) are still opperating on the same business model from the 19th century.

Obama is NOT being investigated. Some of his staff are potential witnesses to a Federal investigation. The Federal D.A. has asked the Obama staff to not release information to the press, until after the investigation is concluded.
This is how the legal system has always worked in this country. Nothing is abnormal... nothing is out of place. Witnesses are always asked to NOT make press statements, during an investigation.
This isn't that difficult to understand. I don't exactly understand why some people are too stupid to grasp this.
All the Obama haters are saying the Obama came out of the dirty politics of Illinois, so he must also be dirty. They are saying the Blago will spill the beans on Obama and Fitz may end up investigating more than just Blago. They point to Rezko, they point to union relationships, and any number of things...

Obama said because of a specific request from the office of a specific investigator that he will answer a specific question on a specific date within seven days.

Why would a sitting Senator and President-elect not talk to the Governor of his state concerning his replacement? You hear what you want to hear and you believe what you selectively choose to believe.
Obama did not lie at all. That is complete BS that the haters are trying to say. Here is exactly what Obama said:
“I have never spoken to the governor on this subject. I am confident that no representatives of mine would have any part of any deals related to this seat. I think the materials released by the U.S. attorney reflect that fact,” Obama said at a Chicago news conference. “I’ve asked my team to gather the facts of any contacts with the governor’s office about this vacancy so that we can share them with you over the next few days.”
He said he never talked to the governor on the subject. That is likely correct, as he had his people talk to Blago. There is nothing wrong with talking to the Governor about his own seat.
He said none of his people were part of any "deals". The subject was "deals", not whether his people talked to Blago. It is correct, as Fitz says that none of Obama's people made any deals with Blago.
He also said he would give out the contacts his people had with Blago, so he is actually implying that his people did talk to Blago. Nothing wrong or illegal about his people talking to Blago about his own seat. It makes sense that he would want to have some influence where his own seat went. It would have only been wrong if they cut deals, which they did not.

Maybe they, the MSM lapdog journamalists, just know that a Democrat can take it, both in poise and due to the fact that nothing will come of real investigative journalism (*cough cough* yeah, that's what they are doing [rolls eyes]) since there IS NO THERE THERE, in Obama's case and, with the exeption of a blowjob and a blue dress, in Clinton's, while Bush and Company would have folded like a wet paper tent were any real scrutiny applied to them.
Doesn't matter either way. They still suck, to put it mildly.
I don't think it's any coincidence that the MSM virtually ignored Cheney's admission of war crimes the other day. Why, how boring and trite, the VP of the US violates his constitutional duty by disregarding treaties we are sworn to uphold. It's much more important to make up fake tabloid trash about Obama and Blago, that's for sure.

Funny thing is there is a lot that the media should be doing, namely hounding Cheney and Bush for their recent comments. Cheney admitted that he was the one who allowed water boarding, and Bush admitted that there was no real reason to go into Iraq and said "So What" about it.
On this whole Blago/ Obama ordeal, isn't it innocent until proven guilty which means the burden of proof is on the prosecution? Or is it guilty until proven innocent?
this time-wasting GOP crap would not be possible if the lazy talking heads and politicians and political operatives weren't enabled by the coordinated uncontested repetition only the talk radio monopoly can spew. its time progressives realized that fact and begin to invoke limbaugh, as the point man for the monopoly the last 20 years and the one person who best personifies the principles and morals of the republican party these days.
obama and dems politicians and spokespeople, when asked to defend obama from the talk radio-created lies ought to say things like
"is that what limbaugh said?"
"did you get that from limbaugh?"
and so on.
