First Blog Entry At The NEW Whitehouse.gov
By Logan Murphy Tuesday Jan 20, 2009 11:20am
The entire Whitehouse.gov website has been renovated to reflect our new President, Barack Obama. It is a thing of beauty and nearly brought tears to my eyes - again.

Change has come to WhiteHouse.gov
Welcome to the new WhiteHouse.gov. I'm Macon Phillips, the Director of New Media for the White House and one of the people who will be contributing to the blog.
A short time ago, Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th president of the United States and his new administration officially came to life. One of the first changes is the White House's new website, which will serve as a place for the President and his administration to connect with the rest of the nation and the world.
Millions of Americans have powered President Obama's journey to the White House, many taking advantage of the internet to play a role in shaping our country's future. WhiteHouse.gov is just the beginning of the new administration's efforts to expand and deepen this online engagement.
Just like your new government, WhiteHouse.gov and the rest of the Administration's online programs will put citizens first. Our initial new media efforts will center around three priorities:
Communication -- Americans are eager for information about the state of the economy, national security and a host of other issues. This site will feature timely and in-depth content meant to keep everyone up-to-date and educated. Check out the briefing room, keep tabs on the blog (RSS feed) and take a moment to sign up for e-mail updates from the President and his administration so you can be sure to know about major announcements and decisions.
Transparency -- President Obama has committed to making his administration the most open and transparent in history, and WhiteHouse.gov will play a major role in delivering on that promise. The President's executive orders and proclamations will be published for everyone to review, and that’s just the beginning of our efforts to provide a window for all Americans into the business of the government. You can also learn about some of the senior leadership in the new administration and about the President’s policy priorities.
Participation -- President Obama started his career as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, where he saw firsthand what people can do when they come together for a common cause. Citizen participation will be a priority for the Administration, and the internet will play an important role in that. One significant addition to WhiteHouse.gov reflects a campaign promise from the President: we will publish all non-emergency legislation to the website for five days, and allow the public to review and comment before the President signs it.
We'd also like to hear from you -- what sort of things would you find valuable from WhiteHouse.gov? If you have an idea, use this form to let us know. Like the transition website and the campaign's before that, this online community will continue to be a work in progress as we develop new features and content for you. So thanks in advance for your patience and for your feedback.
Later today, we’ll put up the video and the full text of President Obama’s Inaugural Address. There will also be slideshows of the Inaugural events, the Obamas’ move into the White House, and President Obama’s first days in office.

Didn't that use to be an old domain name for a porno site?
as change does.
whitehouse.org .... :(
Instead of serving the interests that contribute to their campaign, thus voting accordingly, I've always believed and attempted to get MN Rep Keith Ellison, Senator Amy Klobuchar, and "former" Senator Norm Coleman to receive input from their constituents using their websites. I always received pushback with statements like "We can't please everybody", etc. Now with the leadership of our new president, though he may make decisions we may not like, at lease we can provide our input in a way that is recorded, and maybe even reviewed.
Requesting the the new administration review the prior administration activities to determine if there were any criminal activity, and if so, open up criminal proceedings against all parties involved to protect our countries so called rule of law.
has made the White House back into the People's House once again.
What a magnificent site! I look forward to reading everyday and even participating once in a while.
I've got goosebumps! Today has finally come!
Now let's see what tomorrow brings.
To cover over all the blood stained walls.
hat's exactly what they're doing. I am very pleasantly suprised that they have done it, and done it so fast. I checked it out, it's coolness incarnate. This is a very hopeful sign. You can even drop him a note....that's too cool for words, because in this White House, I suspect that the emails will be read.
very similar to his other website now...and to the emails I still keep getting.
Sen. Kennedy was taken from the luncheon in DC on a stretcher. MSNBC is reporting this but they have no details yet.
He wanted to see this day and he did, but now I think he will fail fast. He held out as long as it took. I hope I am wrong.
Kennedy or Byrd??? I saw a headline on RawStory that said Byrd.
But it says Kennedy now.
Confirmed by Obama himself, during a speech at the luncheon.
I guess all them old white guys look alike. ;-)
Both but for different reasons and different problems. They are saying Sen Kennedy had a seizure and Sen Byrd having trouble eating. We don't really know yet the whole story on each.
Thanks POP!
serving senators...strange.
You are most welcome.
is reported to have collapsed at the Inauguration luncheon and is being taken to the hospital by ambulance
It should be interesting to see if he and his regime are going to be any different than the Bush regime. If Obama does not revoke the Christofascism and restore the U. S. Constitution, I would not be surprised.
What a stupid thing to say......"to see if he and his regime are any different than the Bush regime."
Putz.
Hello All: I'm just wondering if anyone is following any wingnut blogs this afternoon? I simply don't have the strength to wade through them but still have a morbid curiosity about what angles they are already working. Anybody know?
I'm not going there either! But my guess is they're all sying it's the end of the world. That's to be expected from idiots.
I'm sure it's nothing but doom and gloom.
are no doubt blathering nonsense, but I have no desire to pay attention to their noise.
All I want to say about Bush & Chaney is good riddance to bad rubbish.
I mentioned on another thread that I visited FAUX news online, which I NEVER do.
The had a link on their main page saying Obama had to correct roberts on the oath, but the story it linked to said roberts had to coax Obama after he "blanked."
is added below in a comment I entered after Ysbaddaden mentioned this.
I need a shower now.
http://michellemalkin.com/2009/01/20/the-all-...
I had to click on the link - Yuck!
RawStory got me this morning with a link to Limbaughs hate site so I know how you feel!
was all I could take. What a bunch of sore losers.
I checked out Malkin's site for about 60 seconds. I don't think a shower is going to do it for me. More like electroshock and a dip in a vat of sulfuric acid. Yeah...that should clear things out. Don't these fuckers ever get tired? (That was a rhetorical question...) They really do want the new president to fail, and they will do anything and everything to aid and abet that process.
No way I'm going anywhere near them. Not today!
I just looked at it: Commenters are making jokes about Obama being a transexual (something to do with change?), his new website missing a donate money button, and a few about him having "big" ears.)
How very mature of them.
they are in the minority. With any luck, they'll get left behind.
Solace
was never by strong point but I have been known to make requests! Oh wait, that's solicit. ;)
I've been known for public solicitation.
you could have your car impounded for that.
As regards the sex change, I think they've got their wires crossed. Don't they mean Ann Coulter? I'm sure they'd enjoy being corrected on that point.
it's not PC to call Ann Coulter a transexual. So lay off the dude, okay?

Leave it to FOX to have it ready, but all the news sources that post AP articles seem to have this one.
be really really open. Every week he should make mention of the wingnut Senators, by name, who are committed to throwing a monkey wrench into everything the Dems attempt to do to undo Chimpy Mc Fuckups damage.
Start calling them out and let people know the facts. Hes the BOSS now.You know the PARTY FIRST - FUCK AMERICA GOP will be obstructing and stonewalling and pretending people give a damn about them. I suspect there will be more grim news in the next few months too as the new admin gets into the cooked Bush books and uncover more lies.
I wish Barack all the best but he sure has a mountain of shit to start cleaning up. The Rescumlicans will start blaming it all on him in 5-4-3-2-1...
lost all of its credibility 10 years ago.
They're Fox Noise for the echo chamber.
The AP are a bunch of ignorant douchebags! Anyone watching saw clearly that the incompetent unfit to be a dog show judge Roberts made a hash of the most important moment of his sorry worthless life!

I just tried out the Office of Public Liaison page by sending them a question. It'll be interesting to see what they reply!
Currently there are US soldiers in prison for torture. And obviously they belong in prson for that. But we now know beyond doubt that the torture was authorized at the highest levels of our government. When will those who authorized the torture be joining the young scared confused low level soldiers who carried out that illegal authorization and are paying the price for their crime?
Truly pathetic--instead of coverage, Wallace the Lesser and Shit Humus, along with Token Negro Williams blathered on about the economy. Blah, blah, blah...Like nothing significant even happened today.
I suggest everyone click on 'contact us' and say two things:

First thing President Obama should do is DUMP THE FEDERAL RESERVE, bring back the gold standard. The banks and the people who control the money of a goverment, OWN the Goverment. If you look back 30 years, one can see just how they have Manipulated the market, housing and just Who makes money and Who gets shafted. The first bail out of the banks was free money to the people who caused the issue in the first place.Hell they refuse to tell the people in the goverment where they spent the money. Look to see WHO has come out on top, its not the people who are getting put out on the street. The banks have controled the housing market for years. If the loans are a good deal, why do they get 2 to 3 times what your house is worth in the first 15 years of the loan. Look at the housing market in the past 20 years. How many times have they had one of these houseing market crashes in the last 20 years. I can rember the Savings & Loan crap. millions lost there homes. Now we are in it again. When the banks control the money, they are going to conrol it to make sure THEY make money, not YOU or the goverment will ever come out on top.
