Erik Prince's company Blackwater (now known as XE) has been embroiled in controversy for years. Company employees have posted videos online of their own ruthless behavior and abuses against Iraqi citizens, and can be heard laughing off camera. We're now finding out that this brutality most likely came from the top, down from Prince himself -- former employees are finding their consciences and telling horrifying stories about their former boss:

A former Blackwater employee and an ex-US Marine who has worked as a security operative for the company have made a series of explosive allegations in sworn statements filed on August 3 in federal court in Virginia. The two men claim that the company's owner, Erik Prince, may have murdered or facilitated the murder of individuals who were cooperating with federal authorities investigating the company. The former employee also alleges that Prince "views himself as a Christian crusader tasked with eliminating Muslims and the Islamic faith from the globe," and that Prince's companies "encouraged and rewarded the destruction of Iraqi life."

In their testimony, both men also allege that Blackwater was smuggling weapons into Iraq. One of the men alleges that Prince turned a profit by transporting "illegal" or "unlawful" weapons into the country on Prince's private planes. They also charge that Prince and other Blackwater executives destroyed incriminating videos, emails and other documents and have intentionally deceived the US State Department and other federal agencies. The identities of the two individuals were sealed out of concerns for their safety.

These allegations, and a series of other charges, are contained in sworn affidavits, given under penalty of perjury, filed late at night on August 3 in the Eastern District of Virginia as part of a seventy-page motion by lawyers for Iraqi civilians suing Blackwater for alleged war crimes and other misconduct. He is a good white old boy, and fundie Christian to boot. They never do anything wrong.

We all know it is all those secular extremist godless faculty in them college campuses the ones using fetuses for human sacrifice and stuff. Well, that is according to Bill O' but since he is a god fearing conservative, he would never tell a lie, so that is that.

BTW, if this douche gets sent to prison... since he was already a fundie, does he get to "find Jesus" again?

He was raised Dutch Reformed, and converted to Roman Catholicism when he married his first wife. Mom founded the Family Research Council with Gary Bauer. Erik Prince has worked for that entity as well as the Acton Institute, a right-wing, an ostensibly Roman Catholic thin-tank/educational organization on whose board serves Erik's sister, Betsy Prince DeVos. The Acton Institute has found amazing ways to justify free market economics using religious philosophy.

Betsy is married to Dick DeVos, heir to the Alticore/Amway fortune. Betsy has served on the Michigan Board of Education, where her primary goal was to de-fund the state's public schools and obtain vouchers for the families who send their kids to private schools. She has also served as the Chairperson of the Michigan GOP. Dick and Betsy donated hundreds of thousands, if not more, to the Prop 8 movement in California last year.

don't let these horrific crimes be covered up or plea-bargained away! No more "we want to look forward" happy-crappy.

Prince will thrash around like a psychotic alligator trying while to get out of this situation. He'll try to drag Republican former -officials (dare we hope?) down with him. Blackmail, bribery and threats will run red in the streets of D.C.

I hope he tries- and fails. I hope he is convicted or murder and a plethora of other vicious crimes.

Then, I suppose, he'll have a convenient "heart attack". We'll see.

There have been a couple documented instances of Blackwater thugs pointing their weapons at US troops.
If I were in the field and a Blacwater goon aimed his weapon at me or my men, i'd put him down on the spot.

This little SOB is Betsy Devos' brother.

She is married to religious fascist nutball Amway heir DICK (yep, another GOP Dick) Devos. The asshole ran for governor in 2006 and spent $45,000,000 of his own money to brainwash the dupes into voting for his George Bush platform.

Betsy was suppose to run for governor originally, but they had tape of her pounding her fists in hysterics on the platform of the Detroit Economic Club, and shouting "THE PEOPLE IN MICHIGAN MAKE TOO MUCH MONEY!" This was when the little nazi bitch was chairman of the Michigan GOP. Needless to say, they dumped her. But these billionaire pyramid scam bastards are tight as tight can get with the Bush family crime syndicate, so I wonder if anything will ever come of these blatant war crimes.

Our story does have a happy ending however.

Because despite the fact that Dick was on t.v. for 11 months night and day spewing GOP bullshit talking points and other Orwellean horse hockey, he didn't find many takers up here in the great white north.

Fortunately, the people in Michigan could see right through his line of religious right crap and he was crushed. They actually made a mistake on one channel and called the election before 8:00 p.m. That's how badly he was trounced.

I laughed my ass off that night.

If I were a psychopath, I would join the republican party, and get in on the gravy train taking the Teabircher morons to the cleaners.

He won the sperm lottery, as my mom has said many times. With all the money his family has, they couldn't get him into either Calvin or Hope College(s), two pretty decent, if right-wing, liberal arts schools here in West Michigan, but had to settle for Spring Arbor College (now University), a school that packs all the punch of a middling junior college.

Betsy, however, is pretty fuckin' smart. Not very wise, as demonstrated by her DEC speech, but she and her brother are two people that you've gotta keep an eye on at all times.

Another Christian "pro-life" domestic terrorist. I'm shocked.

Of course, such fine points are lost in the debate today. God help us.

Navy Vet's picture

The term "Wehrmacht" means "armed forces"...it was used to encompass all of Nazi Germany's forces, Heer (Army), Kriegsmarine (Navy), Luftwaffe (Air Force) and Schutzstaffel (SS). The SS is what you are thinking of, a private armed force (though not necessarily a true mercenary force, as they were not under contract to the regime for services rendered, nor could they abrogate said contract and look for other employers) under Reichsfuhrer Himmler. I don't know about the "corporate gain" aspect, though...the SS were more in the "racial purification" line of work.
