Madoff Statue Theft: A Followup

Here's an interesting piece to the Madoff statue story I missed the first time around:

The copper statue was reported stolen from Madoff's $9.2 million mansion on Dec. 22 - about a week after the Wall Street money man was accused of scamming investors in a $50 billion Ponzi scheme.

The statue does not appear to have any damage, and police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Frick said he was not aware of the 2004 German movie The Edukators, in which anti-capitalist activists break into the homes of rich people, move furniture around and leave notes that say "the days of plenty are over."

The activists kidnap a rich businessman, have ideological discussions about money and politics, and then let him go, possibly teaching him a lesson on ethics and morality.

"Interesting," Frick said when told of the film.

I see the potential for a lot of very interesting political theater in this new era...

If

Madoff and Blago are given a cell to share, they can have ideological discussions of money and politics.

Or if they do, it's at a nice Club Fed with tennis and dinner menus until the pardon comes through.

Prison is for pot smokers and other dangerous threats to society.

The best way to rob a bank, is to own a bank.

What's interesting is that the police are "continuing to investigate" the theft of a statue (that was returned unharmed) but are pretty much sitting on their hands when white collar thefts of billions of dollars occur. Good use of resources there, boys.

the paperwork goes into a file folder in the back of a cabinet.

Palm Beach Co sheriffs have lots more pressing issues, like busting people for burned out taillights and $20 dope buys.

...is Fracks brother?

Mass bankruptcy?!?!

They got the idea from 'Christmas Vacation'

"He was a great... big... bulging man. In a blue leisure suit"

...if the shoes dumped on a Miami highway recently were also intended to make a statement to the greedy:

What? No good ole fashion ass whoopin?

this asshole will not go to prision. why, he is rich! if it was you or me, we would be in jail. look at bushs bud from enron, ken lay,do you realey think he died. hell no! Because they said he died, ALL of his gulity verdicts get thrown out. his wife gets everything. I want to see a body.

I totally agree that he won't spend much time in jail, but for a different reason. He pissed off a whole lot of other rich people by stealing their money. Somewhere in that group of investors is someone with a whole lot of teeth and the money to make sure Madoff accidentally strangles on his bedsheets.

100 to 1 the thieves get more time than Madoff...

Isn't it just too coincidental that Madoff pilfered so much money while the sitting administration was warned and they permitted it and now so many progressive charities are belly up?

Way to coincidental... Like 9/11/2001...

What would be the offense of a person stealing and then returning the same merchandise to a thief?
It might be prudent for Madoff to drop the case..............if he were a reasonable man......PHHFT!

but it was stated that Bernie Madoff, because of his age, wanted to take the fall for his son who was the one in recent years that stole the money. Who knows if this is true or not, but if this is true, then Madoff's son will get off scott-free, even though he was the one who turned his father in, and he will be able to spend the rest of his life continuing to benefit from the Big Theft.

I like it! Instead of kidnapping call it an intervention. These people are addicts, basically. An intervention combined with a year in Capt. Guano's reeducation/labor camp may go a long way in rehabbing this type of criminal.

I live in Florida, and he's in my jurisdiction. I'm off to Home Despot and Habitat for Humanity to stock up on building supplies today; should have a stockade ready by dark.

OK

Fastfeat, sounds great to me since I live in the rainy/cloudy PNW and you have a big hot sun he can break rocks in.

Let's just hope that he doesn't suffer the same "fate" as Kenny Boy. That's my fave version of Fought The Law, thanks.

It's got a very rushed and generic ending.

Starring:

JACK NICHOLSON as Madoff.
TIM ROBBINS as Edikator 1.

(fill in the rest)

The ending is pure Hollywood, anyway. But it'd end up being Boomer-bait.
