Power Line celebrates hate directed at Obama

Obama-protests_acd0f.jpg

John Hinderaker just can't wait to get his Obama Derangement Syndrome on with this post.

So I confess to some satisfaction in seeing Obama's likeness paraded at a hate rally in Jakarta, along with those of Mubarak and Olmert. The protesters were blaming Obama for Israel's attack on Hamas, when he hasn't even been inaugurated yet!

Hinderaker once called President Bush a genius, which gives us some insight about his acuity and stability "mentally."

It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can’t get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile.

The Middle East is a horrible situation, as we are witnessing; for this wingnut to take pleasure in ugly scenes like this just shows the Conservative mind at its best.

It's true indeed that Obama hasn't been sworn in yet, but the world's sickness over Bush was caused by his policies. After 9/11, the world was with us like never before and it did take a true destructive genius to wreck that. By attacking a country that didn't do anything to us, Bush has created an international hatred of America like never before.

The wonder of Bush's tenure is that we actually have a country still standing after eight years of misrule. Now it's up to Obama to pick up the pieces of an economy that is in utter shambles, and a global reputation as torturers and thugs -- which inspires scenes like the ones Hinderaker seems to enjoy.

Obama is a wholly owned entity of the Israel lobby, it seems.
He has plenty to say about the economy and what will be done to repair the damage, but when it comes to the slaughter in Gaza, well, there is only one president at a time. A major disappointment.

L@@k, This describes it the best

This is an excellent analysis of the situation in Gaza/Israel:

http://therealnews.com/t/index.php?option=com...

...is horrifying. But...let's wait until Obama gets in office to determine whether or not he's in the pocket of the Zionist lobby. He has to start on the stimulus packet early to try to get the Congress on board (and it sure looks like he needed to!) but in matters of international policy, he has to be more discreet.

hasn't been discreet in discussing anything since his election. Opinions matter on everything from infastructure to foreign policies, and his news conferences don't give any indication that discretion is what he is trying to do. I have never in my life seen a Prez-elect so public before being sworn in. Does this happen with every election?

That's the difference between Gaza and the US economy. You're right, there are an awful lot of institutions who benefit from endless war, whether it's in Gaza, Iraq, or my backyard (looking out at the Sangamon River).

Our economy is a domestic crisis, and even then Obama has yet to actually implement any of his proposals to stop that bleeding. This mess is on Bush...if Obama intervenes, people like you will claim he's being presumptuous.

if he does, damned if he doesn't...

But I think leftandleft could make his point without telling other people to STFU, after all he does not pay the bills to keep this site up and running, does he?

Maybe he's not saying anything right away, because he wants to get all the facts together and do some brainstorming with his people before he starts talkin about this EXTREMELY complex clusterfuck...unlike our last "president"...Obama actually THINKS before he speaks...
So back off.

Shortly after five banana Republicans in black robes installed Bush in the White House, he issued a statement (and I'm paraphrasing here), that his administration wouldn't be as involved in the Middle East peace process as previous administrations.

Guess he was telling the truth.

The Middle East "Peace Process" has to be one of the biggest scams ever discussed. Political leaders don't want peace in the MidEast. Why would they? If everything is perpetual war, the average citizen is too busy fighting for his life, to care about what is being stolen from him.

The best thing about a peace-process is that as long as you have a "process," you don't actually have to make peace. Brilliant!

It's like the argument that a superpower has a right to defend itself. Totally bogus when it means invading, or attacking defenceless people.

I can remeber in one of the debates between Al Gore and Bush they asked what the biggest national security threat to the US was.

Al Gore rambled on about Global Warming and the security risks that would come from it.

Bush named terrorism as the number 1 security threat.

I really scratched my head over that one. Terrorism was such a minor, under the radar kind of thing in the 1990s.

It was my first George Bush what-the-fuck are you talking about moment.

in all fairness the Cole had just been bombed, as well as the embassies in Africa.

That been said, probably the little prick knew what was coming all along. His family being close buddies to the Bin Ladens and all...

Honestly, how can you have a family like the Bush with such incredible coincidences as: Prescott Bush being close friends with high ups in the nazi machine, Poppy Bush being a personal friend of the father of the dude who tried to shoot Reagan, and George Bush who has gotten direct investments from the Bin Ladens in previous business ventures. And these people still all had political careers?

We had our accountability moment.

The Dims won...

Now it ALL belongs to them/'us'.

So it does not matter who 'started it.'

What matters is that now the Dims will be able to collect all the blame for all the failures that will ensue (and they will)--ably abetted by the obstructionism and recalcitrance of the GOPuke minority which knows its ONLY chance to return to power is to ascribe blame for the fails and defeats on Obama & the Dims.

Are not most of the major problems bipartisan? It takes both parties to implement policies, and if I remember correctly, was not policies such as the Patriot Act voted on overwhelmingly by both?

Wishful thinking. You Pugs wanted the disasters Bush created, you are to blame eternally.Y

For the sake of argument, suppose he is. Ted Bundy and the Unibomber were geniuses too, but like Bushie they used their superior intellect for evil. That's why he is the worst president ever.

Actually, he's the best president ever if you're his "base."

just sayin'...

It is nothing but ingrained tribalistic blindness. Glenn Greenwald had a great article about such thinking a few days ago:

http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2009/0...

Dear John Amato:

The right-wing blogger you cite is missing the point, but Crooks and Liars doesn't have to.

Why would demonstrators in Jakarta, Indonesia be linking Obama with Egypt's Mubarak and Israel's Olmert right now as Israel is violently crushing Gaza, a giant refugee camp?

Could it be because they understand that Obama's silence constitutes complicity with Olmert and Mubarak?

Why is this point so difficult for Obama's liberal US supporters to understand?

All my best wishes...

Yes.

You don't know WTF Obama is planning, you're just doing your daily Obama bitching. Meanwhile, as Dumbya sleeps through this cataclysmic shit you say nothing about that mother fucker...very telling.

What's "left" to say about Bush that hasn't been said? In 2 weeks he won't be Prez anymore, so what's it matter? Everyone knows where Bush stands on this website and then some. Focus your anger on the real problems and not fellow posters.

I couldn't articulate this situation as well as he was able to. #4 in particular.

understand that. I also understand that P.E Obama has no problem voicing his opinions on India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc, etc, etc...what he wasn't afraid of stepping on Bush's toes or the world's with those nations?

Well for one thing Afghanistan and Iraq are our wars, we're not combatents in Gaza/Israeli, merely financiers of the latter.

The main comments about Pakistan was about a no-man's land that borders Pakistan and Afghanistan where supposedl OBL is hiding out with Al Qaeda, although Benazir Bhutto claimed OBL was dead, before she was too. But again that's OUR internal security problem (9-11).

Presidents have been trying to solve the Mid-East problems for over 30 years, so that's why one has to tread carefully. It seems we always have to pay for mistakes we made in 20 year increments. Mistakes we made in the 70's and 80's were paying for now.

I will continue to give the guy the benefit of doubt until he can actually enter office and start working...and why won't Dumbya tell Israel to stop murdering civilians?

)O(

The Obama team is very disciplined.

One: They don't want to "own" the problem before they're even inaugrated.

Two: They haven't been inaugrated yet.

Three: His people don't seem to talk off-the-cuff or off-the-record.

Four: Further confusion if you have two voices talking. If Obama addresses it too early, and boosh decides to give Israel more support, in the confusion of the end of one nightmare term and the start of another, it would be hard, even in America, to distinguish who did what.

Five: Hillary probably has to study the situation and pass on her recommendations before, as well as others, before Obama can act knowledgeably. It was knee-jerk reactions, and gut responses that made booshco a disaster.

Is why I like ysbaddaden!
Very well said YSB!!!

Funny though, I have a bad headache this morning and a fluttering left eye due to not having drank enough last night.

I'm beginning to believe the VA, who wants me to pull back, but not go cold turkey, because they said that would throw me into seizures.

Does the VA have professional style rehab?

All you need is to go cold turkey and have an M.D. who is a pro at rehab dose you with enough phenobarb and valium for about 3-4 days and you'll be over the worst of it.

After that, it's meetings, coffee, meetings, coffee, meetings, coffee and working the steps of AA through the big book.

If you don't have the big book, just call the local AA and they'll give you one for free.
Then read it and after you've become sober work the 12 steps exactly as they suggest. And keep going to the meetings....THEY WORK!!!!!

And goodluck my friend.

The VA wants me to give up coffee too.

Geeze, a guy can't drink a pot of French Roast black in peace anymore.

No java?
Gettin to where a person can't enjoy nuthin without a damn doctor tellin ya it's bad for ya...

While they don't encourage coffee drinking, it is always there in plenty.

and they shove religion down your throat

Tell the VA that your coffee is telling you to "do bad and angry things."

No kidding; they will cut you a big fat crazy-money check for the rest of your life.

I'm curious, what sort of government does Canada have? Is it parliamentary like Great Britain who's Commonwealth they're members of, or is it like the US Congressional/Legislative systems, or a blend of both? Another gadfly is the Quebecer seperatists.

My grandfather came from Nova Scotia. Apparently, our family were Tories who buggered off, during the Revolution only to gradually return.

The difference between the two is Bush's administration would look at any situation and try to figure out how they could gain politically by it instead of looking for a solution.

not only would the booosh administration look for political gain...but more importantly, (for them) they'd be looking for financial gain.

Six: they will adopt the bush admin's strategy in dealing with israel terrorism and hamas terrorism, but they are still trying to go with the "change" rhetoric, and don't want to step on their own message.

What is so hard about this situation that even Obama supporters don't understand? Who was the last President that didn't fully and unconditionally support Israel, regardless of party affiliation? Anyone?

I can't remember...but I'm betting it was before WWII ;)

The AIPAC people seem to be having some issues with Jimmy Carter. Something about him wanting the blood shed to end.

Carter wasn't exactly a favorite of the Israelis was he?
I was only a weeeee lad back then...so I don't remember the hullabaloo goin on in that regard.

"Could it be because they understand that Obama's silence constitutes complicity with Olmert and Mubarak?"

I think it may show that they don't understand that Obama has not been sworn in yet.

I think so much of this would be eased if George fuckin' bush,as the US President, would come out against the violence. Of course, sadly, that will never happen.

It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can’t get anyone to notice. colbert couldn't have mocked it better.

These are the same scoundrels who canonized Saint Reagan, even knowing he committed treason. Of course they'll minimize Bush's crimes. Pugs aren't American, they're Pugs.

You will be greatly impressed by Mr. Hinderaker's art collection. The numbered prints of poker-playing dogs are but an appetizer, for you are not to be served your artistic 'entree' until Mr. Hinderaker flicks the custom lights that illuminate his collection of vintage, glow-in-the-dark black velvet posters. 'Young Elvis', 'Vegas Elvis', 'Triple, Bearded, Elvii as The Three Magi' and not only the four 'original lineup' black velvet KISS posters but also the super rare Vinnie Vincent, 'Egyptian Warrior' poster. Surely a collection worthy of the Met, or the Getty - if those institutions truly appreciated great art and were not bastions of the philistine liberal elites.
Perhaps you would like to hear some music. Mr. Hinderaker is the owner of on extensive collection of the works of Mr. Micheal Bolton, including rare Japanese and European import-only EPs and even some of Mr. Bolton's legendary 'lost' 1980s cassingles. Certainly, all the songs were done 1st by lesser artists, but no-one can argue that it is Mr. Bolton's versions that are the definitive ones.
End the evening as Mr. Hinderaker uncaps an effervescent product of the Andre Estates and talks about his favorite Ayn Rand books.

The ladies luuuv my Velvet Elvis collection, but I've found Boone's Farm to be more persuasive than Andre...

Oh, you probably didn't visit since his recent acquisitions whilst traveling.

A positively stunning rendering of a weeping clown, and a provocative woman posing against a strikingly detailed Harley Davidson.

His extensive collection of weeping clown artwork (with a particular emphasis on rodeo clowns) is currently on loan to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

Thanks for the laugh...

Why couldn't the reporter in Iraq have thrown cleats at boosh?

Say...what did happen to him?

and hospitalized. Maybe he's still hospitalized.

He will most likely be in jail for 3-4 years for his actions.

Especially after this speech. A lot of Muslims were quite incensed, as it was quite obviously a matter of political 'ring-kissing'.

And what is happening today is taking place partly because of that speech, as it signaled a 'business as usual' attitude on the part of the US with regards to Israel. One might as well have waved a checkered flag or flashed a green light to the Israeli government to start the tanks and jets rolling...

And he secretly told them to go ahead. You guys are so full of B.S., I'm going to have to start wearing my boots here and still have to roll my pant legs up.

Yes he did. He said he wouldn't stand for anyone shelling his house either (referring to rocket attacks). Whether intentional or not, Israel would have taken that as a green light.

Just as Saddam took it as a green light to invade Kuwait when Washington said nothing.

Again, you proved my point.

What is Obama's views on Afghanistan? Pakistan? India? China? Iraq? He has no problem addressing those nations. No "only one Prez at a time" with that, is there? The economy? Why is he saying anything if it narrowed down to "only one Prez at a time"?

Can I give you my honest opinion?

Starts his "friend of Israel" at 2:55....and you never answered any of my legitimate questions. Why does he have an opinion on other nations globally, but not Israel right now? Doesn't seem afraid to step on "one prez at a time's" toes when it comes to the other nations, does he?

to the jewish factions doesn't mean he approves of their actions. That was a political speech to reach out to those who support Israel. I've read what he has said but I refuse to speculate that he is approving their actions. Your comments are pure speculation.

You still don't get it. That was a speech last summer while he was visiting Israel. It has nothing to do with the conflict now.

barack obama to AIPAC:

I will bring to the White House an unshakeable commitment to Israel's security. That starts with ensuring Israel's qualitative military advantage. ...I will ensure Israel can defend itself from any threat, from Gaza to Tehran. ...

pretty black and white, really.

obama, "We must isolate Hamas unless they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel's right to exist and abide by past agreements..."

obama, and the rest of the media-govt-corp, see "terrorism" everywhere when it comes to the arab world, but never when it comes to israel. but, the use of violence against citizens to enact political change is EXACTLY what israel has been doing, especially in gaza. and that is terrorism.

And you are right. Blind Dems are as bad as loyal Republicans. I noticed though, that instead of answering the questions, I was labelled an idiot. Nice. I thought they were good questions. Why does he have an opinion about every nation on the globe publicly but not Israel? Well the YouTube video explains it completely. But of course, only loyal Obama supporters know what he "thinks".

Myself as well. I don't understand how people block out what they want to. It's all right there. We are on the internet. You can find evidence if you WANT to know. Unfortunately, some people just don't.

Yeah I kiss the ceramic too on St Potty's day (the day after St. Patty.)

I think it's all distraction aimed solely at Obamas' incoming Administration. I think they (NeoCons and the like) are hoping that Obama will become completely overwhelmed by the monstrous actions of the Israeli Government diverting all his focus on the Middle East. As bad as the situation is there, the economy here at home is job one. The Jews and the Palestinians have been trying to annihilate each other for a longer than some of us have been alive and unfortunately it isn't going to stop anytime soon. Short of Second Coming. That problem will always be there for later consideration. Hopefully he is formulating a way to cut some of the apron strings with the Zionist Elite Government of Israel. I know he promised to stand by Israel during his campaign, but let's face it, some campaign promises are made to and inevitably will be broken.

Israel has its own internal problems. Olmert has all sorts of indictments floating around; and; when he loses the election in February he will be drug off to prison in shackles and chains for various corruption and embezzlement charges. Israeli law does not allow a sitting leader to be charged for crimes until they leave office.

This whole invasion is nothing but a sadistic campaign gimmick designed to save the neck of Olmert.

Dubya is still the Pres and he's been shootin' off his mouth sayin' it's all the fault of those darn Hamas guys - Israel and Us are just tryin' to help them see the error of their ways, by bombing the shit out of Gaza.

Obama will have plenty of time to create his own messes - but right now he is correct for not saying anything about this crisis - as Georgie has already put his support firmly behind the Israelis. If Obama speaks out now, even if only to express sympathy for the Palestinians, could that not give the Israelis the impetus to step up the bombing/invasion and crush Gaza and it's people now, before a "Palestinian sympathizer" is sworn in as US President??

Sometimes the Y chromosome doesn't work properly. Gentically you are male; but, the body forms as a female. This would explain the adam's apple and the big hands. Anytime you have a damaged chromosome; you are going to have other things attached to it. Sometimes, it gets pretty complex and you can end up with a whole bunch of things going on at once. It would explain her anemic-anorexic look and her mental illness. Those kinds of things are not always associated with androgen insensitive males; but, there are cases of these things out there. You can end up with some really strange enzyme disorders when you have damaged DNA.

And they said it was all but dead!

IS OBAMA FAILING ALREADY?
HIS SILENCE ON GAZA IS DEAFENING

Barack Obama says that there is only one President at a time and he will not comment on policy issues until he takes office on January 20, 2009.

However, he can't stop talking about the economy and he was even on Capitol Hill yesterday pushing his economic package. But he has not said a word about the Gaza tragedy. People are dying by the hour and he refuses to comment. At least the economy is not killing people, Gaza war is and he should stand up and make his views known.

He says he talks to Condi Rice on Gaza situation every day and that is not a good thing. Rice is a straight faced liar probably telling Obama how hard she is working to bring peace, while at the same time encouraging Israel not to stop despite World pressure.

I hope the reason for Obama's silence is that he is trying not to be confrontational because he is diametrically opposed to Bush Administration's Middle East policy and intends to change course of events immediately upon taking office. If this is not the case, his silence on Gaza is immoral.

Let us hope this is the case.

Namely, the Israeli government.

Think about it. How often has this kind of thing been happening? How often has this been going on? At least since 1970. Attack, counterattack, back and forth, again and again and again. But through every US Administration, Israel has endured.

(Though I think ol' Tricky Dick wanted Israel to lose the Yom Kippur War; he withheld vital conventional weapons and other supplies stockpiled in Europe against the Soviet threat, and only relented after Tel Aviv's alleged threat to use Israel's nukes on Arab capitol cities.)

But Israel only endures because of American sponsorship. A sponsorship that has cost Americans billions (and who knows how many American lives in various terrorist incidents overseas these past 30 years). AIPAC exists to maintain that sponsorship. If you don't 'kiss the ring' of AIPAC, you won't get the big brass one stamped with the Presidential seal. It's that simple. And no aspirant to the office of the President can avoid this fact. Hence Mr. Obama's presence at various AIPAC gatherings. And, as a result, we now anticipate his impending 'coronation'. Which signals that very same 'business as usual'. "Plus ca change..." and all that.

Holy hate-mongering, Batman!
