World leaders refuse to shake Bush's hand
Not only do the world's most powerful leaders refuse to shake the POTUS' hand, they also seem to refuse to even make eye contact. Heckuva job, Bush. Heckuva job.
CNN Anchor Rick Sanchez: Bush looks like "the most unpopular kid in high school that nobody liked."
I think I speak for the entire world (well, everyone other than the 20% dead-enders) when I say January 20th can't come soon enough.

They learned that from mcgramps.
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
Some of ya'll folks have taken a fall off the cliff to the left of the left cliff.
Not sure why bush decided not to shake the hands at that point during the meetings... but they were willing to shake his hand. Might have been his Mysophobia...
Wow... look... he is shaking all those same peoples hands... even holding them. Does this mean he is the most popular guy in school now? These stories are stupid.
http://www.zimbio.com/George+W+Bush/articles/...
I can't stand the jerk myself, but you do have a point about the germs. He looks like he's walking very close to the gentleman in front of him in an effort to avoid shaking hands. It doesn't appear that the others are avoiding him.
I read an article that told a story of when Obama (as a senator) shook hands with GW Bush. Bush turned around to get some sanitizing gel from his wife, and then offered it to Obama.
It appears there was no gel available at the summit.
check your wallet.
"Anyone that makes less than $150K in this country, has no business voting Republican."
Would've probably been beaten up by scumbags like Bush. A better analogy would be the guy given the "most likely to succeed" status who ends up working at a McDonalds by the time the reunion rolls around.
I also noticed that he didn't extend his hand to anyone or even look up much, I don't know what that means but it was striking to me. Why would he even agree to stand for that photo op under those circumstances.
He likes foto ops.
Bush to World Leaders: ‘Tear Down Your MALLS’
Maybe none of them brought along their hand sanitizer lotion.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
A DOLLOP 'LL DO YA:
"Obama!" Bush exclaimed, according to Obama's account of the meeting in his second memoir, "The Audacity of Hope." "Come here and meet Laura. Laura, you remember Obama. We saw him on TV during election night. Beautiful family. And that wife of yours -- that's one impressive lady."
The two men shook hands and then, according to Obama, Bush turned to an aide, "who squirted a big dollop of hand sanitizer in the president's hand."
Bush then offered some to Obama, who recalled: "Not wanting to seem unhygienic, I took a squirt."
The story goes he shook their hands before, perhaps the day before. That makes a bit more sense if true.

I feel bad for this country. What a loser.
I still feel kinda bad...but a LOT more optimistic about the future!
But bush can suck it!
I did for about 1 second, then thought better of it. Replay the last 8 years in your mind, and think again.

We know better than anyone that we fucked up....it's our mess and we'll clean it up. I even think that fool has finally come to realize how despised he is worldwide.
I've waited a long miserable time for this, and am loving every second of this wicked man's many embarrassments.
World leaders refuse to shake Bush's hand
They heard about republicans who linger in the bathroom.

Larry Craig gets the same treatment in the Senate
Near the end of the segment Sanchez says he Googled "bush" and "bully" and got two and half million hits. When I tried it, I only got a bit over two hundred thousand.
Corruption favors the wealthy.
Also a lot of those hits are about bush and the bully pulpit.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
fiver - I just tried it from your link ... over 6 million hits. Not sure why you came up short. Also tried bush bully pulpit not many of them, about 2%
I got over 6 million on "bush" and "bully." A search on "bush" and "bully" plus "-pulpit" still brought up over 5 million.
However, a search on "bush the bully," i.e., that exact phrase, produced less than 3,000 results and "bush is a bully" generated about 1,700.
Make of that what you will.
"Bully for Bush". Zero results but Google wanted to know what I'd been drinking?

true! CNN has extremely stupid anchors too - wanna bet that he cant solve 2x-4=2-4x ? I cant fucking stand it sometimes ;) But,better than Fox at least...
Still, how can somebody be surprised by this. BUSH and Cheney blatantly smeared our continent - Europe. And allmost every country in it that disagreed with them. This is a GREAT insult - im not French, but i took it as a grave insult when Cheney smeared and lied about France as if its a 3rd world country.
Karma,i love you... ;)))
Wait wait....breathe....breathe....uh...Bwaaaaaahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Well, bush, you fuckin turd, how ya like 'dem apples?
You reap what you sow, you fucking piece of shit!
Bush is the one doing the snubbing. All the other leaders are reaching out their hands, he keeps his to his side. He probably ran out of hand sanitizer....
Other world leaders generally have more class than bush.
of mutual snubbage there...doesn't look like georgie boy extended his hand. and neither did any of the world leaders...
Can't say I blame them...If I met that bastard, I wouldn't shake his hand either.
whose economic and foreign policies have bankrupted the world?
I imagine German Chancellor Merkel requested to stand on the top row to avoid Bush being behind her.
the day he pulled that frat boy stunt on her will forever be burned into my brain. Fortunately, the camera turned away just before he asked her to pull his finger.
Merkel should have kicked him in the nuts.
She has too much class. Hell, so does the rest of the world. Hell, a monkey with irritable bowel syndrome has more class than Bush.
If Merkel did kick him in the balls, the world would have declared a worldwide holiday.
Just what I thought!
He did a photo op with everyone of those people. He stood in a room on a marked place on the carpet. As each person entered the room, he greeted them, they both posed for pictures and he led them to the entrance to another room. It was all shown on a split screen on C-span.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
I saw this on Youtube earlier and laughed my ass off. You can't say it's just because he didn't try to shake hands. That was a deliberate snub by everyone in the place and I have to tell you it's very satisfying to watch. Now if EVERYONE would only treat him like the communicable ass-wart that he is.
I'll bet they all laugh when he leaves the room too. When do we get to see the video of that? And the world leaders pants-ing him in public?
But in the back room it's " Hey George, give us some money"

i'm sure it's bullshit. dumbfuck probably doesn't want to touch anyone w/o his sanitizer.
I wonder if when other leaders get together if they discuss him and if they do, I wonder what they say. I'm betting it isn't good.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Only they're laughing.
Oh to be a fly on that wall.
Yes, he shook their hands when they arrived.
But at these high level meetings, they shake hands upon arriving and leaving, with photo ops.
Refusing to shake upon arrival would have conveyed a message of distrust or no intent to work together.
Refusing to shake at the end would seem to imply that there was no agreement, at least on Bush's part, since it is him who is avoiding eye contact or reaching out to shake hands.
I think he went in planning to get something from them and came out empty-handed, something he isn't used to. Daddy's friend's always bailed him out when he would blow it, and then the GOP covered for him no matter how bad he screwed up. He's been getting everything he's wanted and now that it's all going south, maybe nobody's bailing him out.
And it must have really sucked to be standing there and know that he's not only the most unpopular leader there among their own populations, he's the most unpopular leader in the world.
I think when he was denied whatever he went in looking for, he went into his infantile arrogance and figured, fuck them, and just avoided them all. Whatever, he looked small and diminished and very unpresidential - but that's not new, is it?
Bush wouldn't shake THEIR hands.
me-oww!
The video looked to me like Bush wasn't shaking hands with them... wonder what the real story is.
As for "not soon enough" my local gas station attendant is an older foreign born gentleman who told me today he voted for the first time, and voted for Obama. He said he doesn't understand why the wait to Jan. 20, he wants Obama in now. I couldn't agree more!
til the 20th of January either. He'd give it up early. He's a laughingstock now, and I think it's sinking in.
me-oww!
They say all he worries about now is his 'legacy'. He just doesn't get it.
You create a legacy with the things you do and the things you leave behind.
Slapping a library up and paying people to say nice things about you is not a legacy.
His legacy should be a cell for the rest of his war criminal life. As it stands the best we can do is let him know what a disgusting, miserable, criminal douchebag he is.
And even then I honestly don't think he's smart enough to get it. He's dumber than cold dog shit.
I never thought of putting the word "cold" before dog shit, when talking about how dumb someone was, but I like it. It gives it more meaning. Might I borrow that in the future?
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
It's truly worse than the warm stuff.

And none of the seemed to care. They didn't even look at him.

I just heard on CNN some of the many environmental rules bush is trying to destroy in these last days. If he is successful, everyone in the US and the world should not only not shake his hand, they should kick his ass. The guy just can't stop mucking up our country and our world. Every time I think I can't dislike him more, I discover that I can.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Bush will be doing stuff the last minutes of the last day.
Maybe Bush is drunk off his ass and the others are trying to pretend he is not there...
perhaps they would have been more friendly to bush if he had not sideled up next to them at the urinals and asked them to shake the dew off his lilly!
Why was he hanging his head? Granted I think Bush should be indicted for crimes against humanity but gd he is an American. Hold your head up, extend your hand you --stupid sh*t.
Isn't really being patriotic.
Diplomatically speaking, the stupid, little twerp just got pimped slapped.
Sending him to Coventry? Big deal. Send him to the Hague instead.
I won't be satisfied with anything less than a war crimes trial and conviction.
here here!
He has no manners. We saw him at some big meeting with a mouth full of food and he was talking at the same time. He just has no idea what a gentleman should do, unless he's told. Obama on the other hand has manners that seem to come second nature to him.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Look closely. This was pre-arranged. No one attempts to shake Bush's hand nor does he display any uncertainty. The others, however, are quite effusive in their greetings with each other.
Now the notion that 19 of the G20 countries would conspire to publicly shun the elected leader of the USA, the largest market on the globe, is simply unimaginable. The likely consequences for their exports here, not to mention diplomatic and public relations with the US public, all but preclude it. The perception would be one of bullying and ganging up on a weakened foe. Imagine how this would play on cable news if he extended his hand and they refused?
These countries are our economic allies and mostly our political allies as well. It's far more likely that the Bush people let their displeasure (over whatever) be known in what has become a characteristically petulant Republican/Bush gesture of rejection.
This footage is deeply troubling to me because it is so profoundly symbolic. I've not seen anything like it in my 60 years, or in any historical footage that I'm aware of. As I recall, Nixon shook Mao’s hand, Kennedy Khrushchev’s, Chamberlin Hitler’s. What the hell is happening?
The British call it "come uppance". You talk as if George Putz didn't deserve it.
Or are you deliberately forgetting George Putz's talk about "old Europe" being irrelevant? Now look who's irrelevant, the lame fuckwit, twice-unelected, "president", while France and Germany are leading the way in dealing with various crises.
I made a simple and direct comment. Perhaps if you re-read it, read it more carefully or improve your reading skills you will find it less necessary to posit ad hominem assessments of my intentions.
...but when I saw it, I figured Bush had gotten word that he was going to be snubbed (in some way, perhaps with a very perfunctory shake and no eye contact) and he decided to go them one better by pretending that he didn't want to shake THEIR hands. Our cowboy always has to have the last word. In any case, I find it very troubling also, and I'm not sure Rick Sanchez has the whole story. There are various interpretations possible here, and I'm hoping someone comes out with the details in the next few days.
These people are pros at what they do. They would have seen the same unmistakable body language we saw, and rather than provoke any kind of incident in front of the cameras, they smoothly just moved on to the next person in line.
What else could they do, say, "Hey, George, did ya drop something?" He was obviously not making eye contact on purpose, he did it all across the line.
The thing is that there is a diplomatic code to the behavior at these meetings. Refusing to shake hands or make eye contact at the end of the meeting is not quite as bad as stomping out and leaving, but it sends pretty much the same message. It says that he has no respect for the others and what went down.
I think he went in looking for something, like maybe some help with the global mess he's made, and got gobsmacked by people who have already been in communication with Obama and who have no intention of putting up with Bush's incoherent bullying any more.
And for someone who has been bailed out of one failure after another his entire life, that would be a real unpleasant wake-up call. I bet he has the arrogance to think he still could have gone in and demanded help from them, fully expecting they would just do it.
He looks like he's ashamed, petulant and embarrased, and everyone else looks they just don't care how he feels.
I did the Google search and came up with over 6 million hits!
I don't feel sorry for the guy at all. He and his administration have screwed up this country and the world for that matter. He's squandered a budget surplus; got us into an ill-conceived war; badly screwed up the response to Katrina; driven our reputation into the ground with the world; and, of course, drive this economy into the ground affecting not only ours, but the rest of the world's. The scary part is, he still has 2 more months to go.
What else can this loser do to us and the world???????
I just can't wait until January 20th when he goes and crawls into a hole in Crawford.
I found that to be very odd in general. Not only were the other leaders not shaking the WarPig's hand, but the the WarPig responded in like. It was like he expected no one would shake his hand. I have been waiting for something more on it to come to light, but not a peep and this was a few days ago wasn't it? Just like Cheney being indicted on Tuesday in Texas for prison profiteering...not a peep on the MSM, like it never happened. I googled it that day and came up with 780 hits, today was over 1200.
Government + the Federal Reserve = organized crime
Sick of cleaning up after you.

I've heard news people moaning about the cost of the coming inauguration because of the expected crowds etc.
It still won't be anything near the cost of having a brain dead frat boy turning the world into his party pad for 8 miserable, bloody years.
Not even so much as a banana? Man that's cold.
They're probably afraid he'll fling it at them.
Notice how Merkel in particular took a step back. Who can blame her when there's a molesting chimp loose in the room http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTQY1Aw9zcs
Our President has cooties.
"Anyone that makes less than $150K in this country, has no business voting Republican."
Cooties wouldn't touch him. They're afraid they might catch something.
Someone should tell them. Mass Impopularity is not contagious. It comes from gross incompetence, a hard right agenda, and years of thumbing your nose and at you nation's people and the global community, not from casual contact.
that little creep being shunned by his peers. I think he's finally realizing how hated he is.
Obviously, Angela Merkel must have told him to go stuff himself (or some variation thereof). And good for her and the rest of them!
I love it!
This sequence was the Daily Show's Moment of Zen on Monday night. I left a comment on it at onegoodmove on Tuesday.
people will say it would have been better if he had not been born at all.
That's the real reason Bush 41 cries all the f*cking time now. Because of the shame Chimp has brought on his family name. Of course Bush 41 should be crying about the shame sonny has brought on the nation but fat cat conservatives don't give a shit about that, only about themselves.
I think his dad cries because he knows in the future kids studying history will get his name and the name of the worst president in history mixed up.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
I think every one of them would have shaken his hand had he extended it. He seemed to not choose to and that's even worse.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
I don't know. If you watch the tape closely they seemed to go out of their way not to make eye contact with Chimp. They didn't want to shake his f*cking hand. Like the majority of the country and the free world they just want his ass gone.
He was signaling disrespect for everyone of them - not quite as bad as walking out, but close.
and be universally shunned.
I used to not like this sanchez guy, but this was good.
If this is the treatment Bush got they probably would have kicked Cheney in the nuts. No wonder that crooked lying warmongering SOB stays in his undisclosed spider hole.
Where is cheney these days? Has he already packed up and gone home. The only time I've seen him lately was when the Bidens came to visit their new home.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Probably in route to the new Halliburton headquarters in Dubai to escape indictment in Texas not that he has to worry, George Bush will issue a blanket pardon.
Within the next two months? Don't think so. Dick and Gonzo are on their own. But they look perrty in orange :-)

lots of shredding to do.
I saw the footage of him greeting each leader - and darned if he didn't look like he was high on the alcohol. Not just one happy glass high, but full blown bagged.
Is he still pretending he's on the wagon?
I thought is was off the wagon?
I don't think he was drunk. He's just so stupid he acts drunk.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Only thing funnier than Dumbya's just deserts on an international stage, is the positive spin on this at the usual conservative blogs.
I like how he delivers the news that our President has united the world's leaders. What a legacy for W!
If only Angela Merkel had slapped him across the face years ago when he massaged her neck at the summit meeting, like Bette Davis as Queen Elizabeth smacked Errol Flynn!
I wonder if it has occurred to Bush yet that he is one of the worst presidents that this country has ever had? Does he feel the depth and gravity of that fact? I want him to know it... I want him to realize what a failure he is. What a dreadful, hollow person.
Plain and simple. He got what he deserved. I would have cheered if one of them gave him the finger.
NOBODY 2012
The 'dead enders' are only 20% of the US population. This represents only %0.01 of the world's population.
Seriously tho, if for no other reason, his economic mismanagement has affected most other world leaders & there ability to govern the way they intended. Each one of them, as a result of Bush, is managing a local economic crisis, possibly screwing their re-election chances.
At every turn, on every topic, Bush has screwed up.
Well, at least he didn't stop to give German Chancellor Angela Merkel a good ol' unsolicited impromptu Texas neck-rub, like he did at the G8 summit in 2006. The arrogant bastard deserves any ostracism and humiliation that can be heaped upon him.
An unsolicited breast massage, from where she was standing above him.
..that Bush actually suffers from some form of germ phobia -- seriously.
Maybe it was actually his request that he wouldn't have to partake in the social niceties on account of his mental illness. Not trying to be cute here neither. Goodness knows, I have my own share of phobic tendencies, so I never mean to make fun of stuff like this.
Bush is destroying the entire world economy. Just to make his cronies as rich as Midas. That tends to make one unpopular. Funny how the MSM can't figure out it was Bush and his policies that effed everything up.
"World leaders refuse to shake Bush's hand"
That's an interesting interpretation of the visual. He didn't actually extend his hand to anyone, so you can't say that anyone refused his hand. What you saw could equally be interpreted as "Bush refuses to shake hands with world leaders".
What I see in the video is that only one leader isn't offering to shake any of many leader's hands and that many leaders arem't offering to shake the hand of only one leader. The many leaders all shook one anothers hands, so Bush is either an angry or an ostracized prick.
They must have caught him picking his nose again.
It was a good run...
as in diarrhea.
..bush looked at the floor as he approached Merkel,I wonder if there was a sign on the floor that said: "NO HANDSHAKE,PERVERT"
Russia has Vladimir Putin.
The U.S.A. has George W. Bush, who can't find his way out of a room.
Putin...
Didn't he recently fight off a bear with a knife?
I hear that Dumbya has learned to wipe his own arse.

That was so uncomfortable.
..any way one looks at it.
and I hope Dubya has many more uncomfortable, awkward and embarrassing moments just like that for the rest of his miserable life.
damn. That's some harsh shit right there. As much as I loathe both Cheney and Bush, that seems just low and common.
The amazing thing is that they've been polite to him for as long as they have.
I'm sure the 1 Million dead of Iraq will be over joyed that a bunch of pussy politicians didn't shake hands with Bush.A truly "courageous" gesture now that he's on his way out the door you schmucks.
"To me, truth is not some vague, foggy notion. Truth is real. And,
at the same time, unreal. Fiction and fact and everything in between,

-Jack Handy
I wouldn't want to go to Iraq at the end of October even if everything's settled down. Considering most of them died under violent circumstances.
Place will be bloody haunted at night.
Yourself.
Think about it. He had to walk UP stairs, then across the stage, find and stand on his mark then turn to face the cameras.
Adding handshaking to a set of instructions that complex would have sent him into a panic.
Compare his "entrance" to that of a child w/ Autism.
"Wopner's on at 3 and I'm not wearing my underwear."
Maybe this will start a trend... people turning their backs as he passes, chanting "unclean! unclean" and ringing little bells! Oh if only!
What a sad wretched person Bush is..
I spent so much time hating Bush..but that has now morphed into pity....
Just look at the body language of everyone on that stage- Bush barely made eye contact with anyone- could it be that *he* refused to shake their hands?
Are the wingnuts on FOX calling for any kind of military retaliation?
He was the most popular kid in high school until every one realized he was nothing more than a low down lying thief. No WMDs, caused the deaths of over one million innocent men woman and children, over four thousand dead servicemen, over forty thousand wounded, some severely, endorsed torture, weakened the U.S. constitution,(which he swore to defend), nearly bankrupts our country and causes economic woes across the planet, and busy now giving away our tax dollars and our future to the rich. Good for them for thumbing their nose at him. What really makes me sick is that nearly 30% of our population stands up and cheers when he walks in the room, House and Senate included. He should have been impeached years ago. I guess the Saudis still love him? I wish the snub had been true.
This country should be like the U.K. with their prime minister election and throw the loser out the next day. This two month crap is so dated.
The reaction from the anchor is the most interesting part of the whole thing. He really doesn't get that Bush became wildly unpopular around the world when he pushed for the invasion of Iraq. Since then he and the country along with it have, because of our policies, become wildly unpopular. It's amazing how insulated and really disconnected the big media are, or they pretend to be.
The rest of the story here
Bush is like the guy who was popular in high school only because everyone knew his parents were rich and well-connected and they thought if they hung out with him, some of it would rub off on them. They might be scared of him or hate his guts because he's an asshole but, hey, he's still the most popular guy in high school so they suck it up.
Then, right before graduation, they realize that they don't have to pretend to like this dickhead anymore because they're going their separate ways soon, so they can let their true feelings show.
High school is forever, it seems.
As much as I hate the mofo, this is not true. Let's make sense.
I come here because there are lots of very intelligent people posting. But, let's not border in the ridiculous. He was the host, he had greeting them already.
I don't care for the guy at all, I would not shake his hand. This group obviously had already greeted the war monger. The world leaders have more cooth than the Bush administration.
In all fairness to this little man who stole two elections because he could never get elected to office fairly...
Reading Bush's body language, it doesn't look like he's inviting any handshakes, and in fact, blocking them. Having said that, I'm thinking none of those world leaders minds one bit.
This reminds me of the scene in Forrest Gump where he gets on the bus and nobody wants to sit by him...classic
bush has earned all of the scorn that is being piled upon him, and that will be dumped on him in truckloads when he finally takes his sorry ass out of the WH.
This was a wonderful sight to see. Almost from the beginning, the world recognized his bullying nature, his lawlessness, his treason, his murder of innocents, and all of the things that people are still generally too afraid to do anything about in this country.
Just wait till January 20 - change is coming, and that change will include revelations of just how evil bush really is. Hopefully, there will also be indictments, trials and punishments in the future for him and those who aided and abetted his domestic and international criminal acts.
I don't feel bad for him at all. 6.2 million online comment peg him as a bully. Well-deserved. I can't wait to have seen the last of that frat-boy grin.
A writer of horror and contemporary fantasy from Chicago.
I admit this is funny, but if these people would've been actual "world leaders" the bloody Iraq war wouldn't have happened, would it? I'm not sure what they are,.. but they're not world leaders. These nitwits couldn't lead a high school for crying out loud.
Ahhh... a moment of nirvana (enlightement, not the band - lol)
World leaders ,who beside the U.K. (Blair and the latest Premier Numbnuts), didnt share the same view of the world like Bush has...
And since the Bush administration has the doctrine wich putts Oil interest under the National Security Interests... who could talk reason to this guy?
But i have to say, these leaders should have been a lot more harsh with Bush's actions and actualy condemn him in the U.N. Cowards. France should be EXTREMELY HARSH with Bush's administration - i mean, how can you have a president who continuously lies and insults a sovereign country like France ????
Why do the newscastors sound SURPRISED? Every fucking country prayed for these Dissaster Colletors to be removed from the White House. FINALY!
I found the link to this on 'Aberrant news' and even the guy that runs the site, a left wing guy' knew That this was bulls*it.. Bush shook their hands earlier during a photo opp and just had no reason to shake hands with them again passing them at the podium. No big story, no hot news, just another CNN propaganda push to make Bush look bad. But then what do you expect from someone from the 'all Obama all the time network.' Still, the hate filled comments from the left wingers here seem a little over the top. Oh well, when Bush is gone they will just have to get used to seeing the same kind of s*it about Obama all the time. Welcome to the Obamanation guys, where Jug Head Ears rabid followers line up to get the propagana line of the day. Now you will get to hear people telling you that your leader is not 'their President' and that without his teleprompter he cannot string words together in a coherent sentence (look up the you tube video of him babbling like an idiot when he loses his teleprompter feed). And the photo opps with Jug Ears? Lets see, which terrorist nation leader will he take them with? After all, EVERY ONE of them endorsed him. That's OK though, since he is putting the Clinton administration team back in place, I am sure there will be enough lies to cover his a** given out to the MSM which will roll over and lap it up like the sycophants they are.
