CNN Report: Jesse Jackson Jr. Reported Blago Bribe Attempt

CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., who was cited in a criminal complaint against Rod Blagojevich, went to the U.S. Attorney's office about alleged wrongdoers, including the Illinois governor, a Jackson spokesman said Tuesday.
Jesse Jackson Jr. reported in 2006 what he believed was a shakedown by the Illinois governor.
Jackson rejected being labeled with the term "informant" in a message to CNN contributor Roland Martin.

After Blagojevich took office, in early 2003, he told Jackson something to the effect of, "You see what $25,000 would have done?" the sources said.
In 2006, Jackson reported the incident, which he believed to have been an attempt at a shakedown, the sources said.
...there was tension between Obama and virtually all of the prominent black politicians here at one time. Obama wasn't black enough, hadn't paid his dues, was an outsider, too educated, uppity, etc.
Obama has used the fact that he was an "outsider" to his advantage, avoiding City Hall bullshit moving like a jet up in Illinois politics.

The Media rush to judgement against Jackson Jr. and Rahm Emanuel makes the Media look like the joke they are.
Jackson Jr. reported this back in 2002 and again 2006. The Media didn't do their home work yet again. Good news is Jackson Jr. didn't go to the AG Lisa Madigan or she would have jumped on G-Rod as she wants to be Govenor.
Now ABC published Rahm Emanuel's addess on TV and website which caused he and his family to get death threats. Again the Media got it wrong Emanuel had nothing to do with the G-Rod case.
Patrick Fitzgerald explained the case so well a 5 year old could understand so why didn't the Media? Answer the Media works for the Republican Party and have for 8 years. They will report any lie they can to destroy Obama. This country has no fair/balanced Media anymore and hasn't for 8 years. Not only the Journalist but also the TV Executives are on the GOP pay role. No wonder they wanted to push PBS off the airwaves.

If it had Fitzgerald would have already announced and cleared Jackson's name. In fact this is a deflection that really has nothing to do with the present Illinois Governor scandal.
Fitz is now watching Junior sqirm. If you will notice all the fairy tales coming from the media are coming from Jackson`s sources. Now he does not like the term "informer" used after the fairy tale about going to the FBI for years. My money is on Junior being as dirty as they come. The same goes for the old man. These people have lived off African American misery for decades. No wonder Obama stayed well clear of this bunch during the election. Just like the rest of the story we really should wait until it gets much closer to the finish line. In my little mind I'm thinking that JJJ may be a lot cleaner than you are giving him credit for. Of course I will change my mind if I find out differently. I think maybe JJJ wants to be the anti JJS. Remember his reaction when JJS said he wanted to cut off Obama's balls?

Captain, Jackson Jr. is a very progressive congressman from this state but (unlike Obama) he is an old school Chicago political opportunist with his hand perpetually out expecting something. As for JJJ being "the anti-JJS" no way. If not for JJS we wouldn't know JJJ. Jackson jumped on the Obama train only because that's where the wind was blowing. And again I ask, why isn't Jackson's father speaking out on behalf of his son?

How I loathe the MSM. All they do is confound and distract. For me, I don't really know if JJJ is not implicated in this mess (I'll wait until Fitz does his press conference next week), and frankly, while this whole Blago situation is somewhat entertaining in a macabre way, there are so many more stories that are worth the 24 hour news coverage. Say...having the Vice President confirm that he authorized water boarding (for which people at the Nuremberg trials where hanged) and the President essentially saying "So What" for having lied to the American public about going into Iraq. I mean those are the stories about which I care and wish that the MSM would hound Bush and Cheney about it.
Also on that list of stories, is the whole effin' bailout (both TARP and the Fed's money handed out).
I feel like this Blago story is a huge smoke screen which is designed to distract the public from what is really important.
Nice post and I agree with you. This issue truly has exposed the MSM for what they are---tabloid journalists that watch too much Jerry Springer. In their desperation for ratings and recognition they manufacture fake controversies about their self appointed soap opera stars while intentionally ignoring comments from Dick Cheney that basically indicate he is a war criminal. Why how boring.
The MSM is biased big time toward the Neocons. With some exceptions, their profession is a laughable shadow of its former self thanks to their hyper inflated sense of worth to our national dialogue and role as professional manipulators and liars. Pravda had nothing on these chumps.
