Bill Kristol gets off on the "long surge" troop fantasy

billkristol.jpg If your stomach can take it, Bill "the Vampire" Kristol practically orgasms at the thought of a long and sustained troop level surge in Iraq. "What's needed is a sustained and large surge." Billie got almost three solid minutes to praise Bush for his---cough---cough---leadership.

There's nothing like some hot burning warmongering love for Billie. His neocon fantasy got a little pick me up like a sex addict with an unlimited porn pass on DirecTV.

Good Riddance to the Neo-con Dream

Sadly, I believe that reports of neo-conservatism's demise may be premature, but nevertheless, let's celebrate the awakening of the media to its destructive force in our actions. For so long, PNAC has been given a pass by the media in just how wrong their theories are. I'd like to think of this as a growing drumbeat of accountability. Just wish it was the American media instead of the British. Nothing would make me happier than the day that Bill Kristol and his group loses their pundit status for being so irretrievably wrong.

BBC: (h/t Gregory)

The neo-conservative dream faded in 2006.

Iraq was meant to be the showcase for a New American Century

The ambitions proclaimed when the neo-cons' mission statement "The Project for the New American Century" was declared in 1997 have turned into disappointment and recriminations as the crisis in Iraq has grown.

"The Project for the New American Century" has been reduced to a voice-mail box and a ghostly website. A single employee has been left to wrap things up.

Sheppard-Kristol.jpg Smith got into it with William "the bloody" Kristol two days ago. He sees the politicking by Bush over Iraq because it's election season reprehensible. I disagree with both these chaps because they want to send more troops over to Iraq. They don't say how many, just more, but that's another story...Kristol plays a Friedman on us and said Iraq could hit a crisis in a couple of months. Is he freaking kidding me? He's a warmonger of the highest order and as we've seen when people like him are dead wrong--with the influence they have...people are just plain dead.

Smith: It's horrifying that you just said we can't do anything until after the election. We've got men and women over there who are dying everyday and you just said that the man that you support (Bush) can't do anything even though you believe he knows it's wrong.---What is worse than that Bill Kristol?

Kristol: I think it's hard to ask Bush to do something in the middle of this election season...

Smith: That's a disgusting and repulsive reality Bill, you have to admit that.

Jerry & Margaret email: Shep boils, asks again, then snaps at Bill that troops are being killed now and if he were a parent of a soldier who died while we waited until after the election he would be pissed.

The Warmongers

They can always change the intelligence to fit their needs. The Bill Kristol crowd is getting restless. Apparently--one disaster isn't enough and unfortunately the PNAC agenda is still alive and well.

The NY Times via Atrios:

Some senior Bush administration officials and top Republican lawmakers are voicing anger that American spy agencies have not issued more ominous warnings about the threats that they say Iran presents to the United States.

The complaints, expressed privately in recent weeks, surfaced in a Congressional report about Iran released Wednesday. They echo the tensions that divided the administration and the Central Intelligence Agency during the prelude to the war in Iraq.

The criticisms reflect the views of some officials inside the White House and the Pentagon who advocated going to war with Iraq and now are pressing for confronting Iran directly over its nuclear program and ties to terrorism, say officials with knowledge of the debate.

Why It is Not "Our War"

Vampire-Lee4.jpg Bill Kristol writes his typical neocon column and says "It's Our War," What's happening in the Middle East right now is exactly what men like Kristol have dreamed about. Kristol has contributed to the chaos our world is in today and for anyone to take anything he says seriously having to do with issues of foreign policy have not witnessed what has happened in Iraq.

William the Bloody:

The right response is renewed strength--in supporting the governments of Iraq and Afghanistan, in standing with Israel, and in pursuing regime change in Syria and Iran. For that matter, we might consider countering this act of Iranian aggression with a military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities. Why wait? Does anyone think a nuclear Iran can be contained? That the current regime will negotiate in good faith? It would be easier to act sooner rather than later. Yes, there would be repercussions--and they would be healthy ones, showing a strong America that has rejected further appeasement.

Healthy repercussions? What the hell is he talking about?

Arthur Silber says it better than I can...

Kristol: Fitzgerald 'Out to Discredit Bush Admin.'

Kristol finally attacked Patrick Fitzgerald today for his investigation into the Valerie Plame leak. Expect to see this meme start to permeate into the right wing message center since up until now everyone has either praised the way he handled himself and not attacked his motives. I was wondering why it took him so long to go after Fitzgerald in the first place.

Kristol: The leak story is absurd, but I now think the whole prosecution is absurd.---I now think it's a politically motivated attempt to wound the Bush administration.---He is now out to discredit the Bush administration.

The investigation was called for by the CIA and he forgets the fact that the CIA told Robert Novak not to print Valerie Plame's name in his column. For Bill, lying to the FBI or a grand jury is perfectly fine. He's just worried that Pat has his eye on Rove and Cheney and that scares old PNAC Bill.

Colbert shakes up Bill Kristol over PNAC ties

Bill Kristol, who is one of the major players in the group called PNAC, joined the set of the "Colbert Report," and I think was taken off guard right at the outset of the show because he had to answer questions that our media never asks. PNAC envisioned America attacking the Middle East since the middle '90's and for some inexplicable reason (that was a joke) the media never questions him or his members which have lined the walls of Bush's cabinet about PNAC and how it influenced our foreign policy, which led us to attack Iraq.

Colbert immediately called him on it and Kristol was quite embarrassed talking about it.

Colbert: Speaking of thinking alike, you were a member, or are a member of the New Project for the American Century, correct?

Kristol: I am.

Colbert: Were or am, am?

Kristol: Were and am.

Colbert: How's that project coming?

Kristol: well. it's..(stammering)

Colbert: How's the New American Century, looks good to me?

Kristol: Ahh--I think...hehe yea--I'm speechless..

Colbert: Really?

Kristol: Yea...we've sort of...the Project for the New American Century is just a few people..

Colbert: Come on, it’s a terrific New American Century, right?

Kristol: Well I think we do OK.

Colbert: You Rummy Wolfowitz, Cheney, Pearle, Feith, all you guys right?

Kristol (responds timidly): Well, we fought back after 9/11..

Just watch as Colbert turns every argument Bill has made about the Iraq war around on his head. As Pac says: "He left Kristol smoldering in ashes."

War Hawk Kristol Speaks

One of the great orchestrators of our foreign policy and minion of PNAC, had this to say responding to Nancy Pelosi:

" It is possible that the situation in Iraq will worsen over the next year....But it is much more likely that the situation in Iraq will stay more or less the same, or improve."

It is possible that I will win the lottery soon too. If you listen to the reporters that are on the ground that means that the Iraqi's still will not defend their country and more of our troops will die. Certainly, anti-American sentiment will increase throughout the world which will lead to more and more suicide bombings all over the globe.

This is the issue that is keeping the GOP mired in quicksand and will certainly take them down Bill, but you know that already. The problem is that Kristol can't face the fact or admit that PNAC's plan to change the world is an utter failure and has jeopardized the lives of every American tenfold. (via the Washington Monthly)

Bill " PNAC" Kristol is pouting

Kristol, one of the major players behind PNAC, (the group that in my opinion is responsible for the Iraq war) is now crying major-crocodile tears over the back pedaling from the administration because they announced:

"...the Pentagon tentatively plans to reduce the number of U.S. forces there early next year by as many as three combat brigades..."

Kristol says the administration looks weak right now. Bill's position is to change the face of the middle east by using our military strength so any deviation of that plan puts him in a foul mood. I have yet to hear him mention PNAC anywhere on the tube. I wonder why? (via Think Progress)

When Conservatives Collide: Harriet Miers

It's always fun watching Brit Hume and Bill Kristol go at it and today was no different.

Wallace said: Brother Kristol here in his trouble making this week...

Why is Bill Kristol a trouble maker? Do you mean that he wouldn't blindly follow the company spin so he's a bad guy? If he was a liberal it would be framed as an opposition point of view. Partisan much Mr. Wallace? Also, Kristol slammed Hume's suck up to the White House routine as well
