Mitt Romney Fears Donald Trump's 'Trickle-Down' Racism Can Change Fabric Of America
Mitt Romney hasn't backed down of his criticism of Trump and instead explained in detail how his racist campaign is horrendous for America.
Mitt Romney has been an outspoken critic of Trump's rise in the GOP, even holding a blistering press conference in March, when he called him a "phony and a fraud," to help lead the #NeverTrump movement that failed to derail the real estate mogul.
On Friday, he was interviewed by CNN's Wolf Blitzer and painted a very dark picture of what America could look like under a Trump presidency. One that was filled with "bigotry and racism."
When Blitzer asked if he was disappointed with his former running mate Paul Ryan for endorsing him, Romney responded, " I wish everybody in the Republican party had rejected Mr. Trump and chosen someone else."
He criticized Donald for his remarks on Judge Curiel and said he can never distance himself from them.
Romney then lowered the boom when he described the impact Trump could have on America's future.
"I don't want to see trickle-down racism. I don't want to see a president of the United States saying things which change the character of the generations of Americans that are following. Presidents have an impact on the nature of our nation, and trickle-down racism, trickle-down bigotry, trickle-down misogyny, all these things are extraordinarily dangerous to the heart and character of America."
We've already seen the influence Trump is having on out high school students and it will only get worse from here.
