John Avlon and the CNN Newsroom riff on Gowdy's hypocrisy given his performance during the Benghazi hearings. They openly laugh at the Republican trying to defend him.
Poppy Harlow's CNN Newsroom panel marveled at the hypocrisy of Trey Gowdy potentially defending Trump's refusal to turn over documents to Congress.
"Here we are again with the Trump administration announcing a total stonewall strategy to openly defy Congress and its constitutionally granted power to investigate the president," John Avlon said.
"So when President Trump touts America's crystal clean air, it's because of the policies he's now trying to get rid of," the CNN anchor said.
John Avlon says Trump "is in an objective and possibly unprecedented position of weakness." His only claim to victory is if he runs against an unnamed "socialist"? Sad!
"Somebody doctored this map, folks. And the White House is not denying that's the president," CNN's John Avlon said.
Because anything that doesn't give Republicans an unfair advantage must be stopped.
"Hannity was offering up questions for Republicans to ask Mueller, despite assuring his audience this, 'This is not me telling people what to do,' " John Avlon said.
"Let's face it: Facts aren't the point of a Trump rally," CNN analyst John Avlon said.
