This is not a drill. The vote in the House of Representatives on fast track, preapproving the Trans-Pacific Partnership before the public finds out what is in it, could take place this week.
The House is expected to vote on fast track trade promotion authority as soon as next week. If it passes, the Trans-Pacific Partnership is a done deal. Why is presidential candidate Hillary Clinton still silent on this?
The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a corporate/investor rights agreement, not a "trade" agreement. "Trade" is a good thing; TPP is not. Using the word "trade" in association with TPP is helping the other side.
Please make one more call to your senators and say you want them to vote against it.
It's important to call your senators today and tell them to support critical amendments and against fast track trade authority.
The president says the pubic can’t see the text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership because it is still being negotiated. So let us see the parts that are not still being negotiated.
Which is why you still need to contact your senators today!
President Obama says that Senator Elizabeth Warren is expressing concerns about TPP because she is a politician. Politicians listen to their voters and know this vote will be remembered like the Iraq War vote was remembered.
Corporations get a special channel for submitting claims and getting enforcement of the words that appear in the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Labor, environmentalists and other "stakeholders" don't get that.
President Obama said that people who have concerns about Fast Track and TPP “don’t know what they’re talking about,” and compared them to conservatives like Sarah Palin talking about "death panels."
