Peace Please. 8)

Yay! I love exercises in futility. They're good for your cardiovascular system, y'know?

Whats scarier then the terrorists?

Given Bush or Cheney’s psychological makeup, and the demons and forces that drive them on both real and imaginary, and the historical impulses that prop them up and flow in their veins, there's no way that this group plans to leave its tenure as a total failure.

Thats scary

These sorts of things have been on mind all day today as we hear more and more about how we're all going to die of a terrorist attack, even though they say they have nothing to base that on that's current.

I want to begin a post or comment in my lifetime where I can say, Remember the awful time of the war in Iraq? I want it to some day be past-tense and I want that some day to be soon.

May the GOP obstructionism meet its Fleet.

er, we're AGAINST the filibuster right?

sh@dow @ #7:

Because the government will convince the majority of Americans who either don't believe us or don't pay attention to this stuff that we are terrorists, that's why.

Shouldn't the headline for this post be "What You Can Do Today To Oppose The Filibuster?"

moveup.org is a great site. good to see you have it in this article

Sorry, we typed too fast. We ment moveon.org apologize to all for our error.

“What You Can Do Today To Support Forcing a Republican Filibuster” ??

sh@dow @ 13:

The way you are talking why are you even following this doomed topic? We need to do the opposite and show people that common sense is still in the tool shed.

Sonny is a big fan of doing nothing and complaining about everything.

baby jesus will stay up all night and drink adult beverages
while monitoring the Senate. baby jesus wonders why stocks go up
as more soldiers and innocents die? this wasn't the master plan?

WE'RE NOT SUPPORTING THE FILLIBUSTER. SHEESH.

Baby Jesus, I 'll be joining you in spirit. That's how you communicate, right? I dunno why stocks go up as soldiers die. Maybe the company that makes the coffins and flags is in the stock market. You would know more about the master plan than I do, but if this is it, it needs a whole bunch of work.

I just posted about this both on my own blog and over at my DailyKos Diary. I've got it whittled down to three quick and easy steps 1) Sign Reid's petition, 2) Attend a MoveOn rally, 3) Call your Senators.

baby jesus sees nothing but greedy business people who
will be more concerned with their portfolio than an all night debate
baby jesus is working on accuracy, the next Katrina will be on target, DC or Crawford
maybe Kennebunkport

What To Do

When you meet Members of Congress tonight, ask them about Zero-budgets. This is a markup in committee before the bill leaves for the Senate or House floor.

Zero-budgets mean the GOP would have to pass an amendment to add money back in, instead of requiring the DNC to pass an Amendment to take money away.

Please ask the Members of Congress this evening why they are not zeroing out the budget lines in markups; and why they are not making the GOP pass Amendments to add money back.

Better to take some action than to wallow in fatality.

Filibustering is a good time to share ideas. Tonight, ask your Members of Congress about Zero-budgets during the filibuster. This zeroes-out the budget before it leaves committee; and it shifts the burden to the GOP to pass an amendment to add money back. This will help end the funding for the war. Even if the President vetoes the bill, or the GOP Senators filibuster or block the conference committee, they President still gets no money.

my friend was just having a conversation about the filibuster and all of the idiocracy surrounding it. check it out and let me know what you think. http://www.mypetpeeves.com/plog/index.php/archives/2470

This is a good idea-force these slugs to engage in real filibustering.
As was pointed out,the majority of Americans probably aren't aware of the fact that The Republicans are obstructing EVERYTHING.Then they have the nerve(given their own rubber stamping) to mock the Dems for "doing nothing" and "getting nothing done".
Making the Pugs work for it will (hopefully) garner some much needed attention to this problem.

Stocks go up because of massive government overspending on the military. Hiring more soldiers, paying Blackwater, purchasing equipment, paying hazard pay, etc. are all highly inefficient ways of bolstering the economy but they do work in the short run. There is spillover effect from the MIC to other companies. It's deficit spending that we will have to make up for later, but the effect on the next generation is not what this administration cares about.

If you go to my blog, http://www.primarysourcenews.com I've provided a link to live coverage of the debate.

snark Says:

You got that right, or at least that's what I understand. I thought we were going to force them (GOPers) into all night sessions for their feet dragging and obstructionist behavior.

I know that's right.

great roundup of events

Although I have written many letters to this ass, and we disagree on everything, I can't give up. Here is todays letter.

To John Ensign (R)
Subject Time is up
How big a fool does it make a person when they allow someone to lie to them repeatedly and still believe every one? Bush lied to start this war. Bush lied about how well this war was going at every step. Bush lied when he said he always listens to the Generals. Bush lied when he said it was Democrats that would cause extended tours for the troops. Bush has made contradictory statements lately. It's either the surge has just started so give it a chance or the surge is working. It can't be both. Just more spin and lies. Do the right thing. Support the troops, NOT bush's lies.

Send a letter today.
