Exxon shuts down Yes Men site

I encouraged all of you to watch the Bill Moyers interview of the Yes Men the other night. Mike Stark called my attention to this diary he put up at dKos to help the Yes Men after it appears one of their targets tried to shut them up.

I'd like to congratulate The Yes Men on their brilliant work and on their great good fortune of being shut down by Exxon. It will pay off in the end.

I have been trying to get Rupert Murdoch and News Corp to take action against me [at News Corpse] for three years, to no avail.

What am I doing wrong?

www.yesmen.org is still there. Vivoleum.com is no longer available.

The Whitehouse Coup

Actually the Coup was on December 12, 2000 with a United States Supreme Court decision which ended the Florida recounts and allowed Florida to certify its vote. The vote was certified by Katherine Harris, the Florida Secretary of State and a Republican who had publicly supported Bush during the campaign.

She was the GOP lackey with the big jugs that lost her election, wasn't she?

PNAC may have designs for the control of the "International Commons" of the Internet at some point. But for now they are too busy rearranging deck chairs on the U.S.S. Bushtanic.

what? i consider myself a pretty big yesmen fan, and for the life of me i can't figure out what you're talking about.

the yesmen put themselves in extremely risky situations, going under assumed identities, in order to expose govt and corporate hypocrisy, crimes and corruption. is that what you find lame?

Actually, I kind of agree with telecom: (http://roseyv.livejournal.com/)

But since I disagree with most of the people here, I'll just shut the fuck up and assume I'm an idiot.

Nice meeting you all!

You're assuming that you're an idiot?
Why not subpoena your wiretap records and find out for sure?

The Yes Men reveal the utter fraud that is corporate leadership. Guess that's why we're in such a stew.

Funny thing, if you do a search for "ethics" on the Exxon corporate site you get 0, but if you do a search for "profit" you get 6.

I'm on a mailing list with a hard-core Libertarian that just so happens to work at The Cato Institute, (btw, check your email for a forwarded invitation to the Cato Institute on 7 Aug 2007 when Glenn Greenwald will be talking about his new book "A Tragic Legacy: How a Good vs. Evil Mentality Destroyed the Bush Presidency" there), trying to get some info about The Yes Men's appearance there on the 11th of this month.

He was less than forthcoming, but I did manage to scare up this video of the encounter.

They took it well, but if it was me and a bunch of Libertarians assaulted my person and ruined my suit like that with glitter, I might not press charges, but I sure as hell would make them pay my dry cleaning bill.
