I think you miss the real fear. It is not that Islamofascist's will take over the world and force everyone to obey or die its more that they think that if they DON'T speak-out, act-out, and try to force everyone to do the same that their "GOD" will punish them severely. The excuse of Islamofascists just makes the most sense to their pea sized brains.

Wingnuts are the funniest people. The link refers to a wingnut who is for creationism, but he is against Muslim creationism when reading that Muslims are for it and then he understands one of the problems causing backwardness in the Muslim world is mixing science and Muslim religion. But mixing science with the Christian religion apparently is a good thing, with none of those faults.
The irony is, Muslim creationism is the same as Christian creationism - both religions use the old testament. And nearly all of the abuses of mixing religion with science in America have to do with old testament conflicts, as is true with the Muslim religion.

And then the article about Hansen correcting someone else's calculations about how hot it was in 1998 versus 1934, to provide an estimate saying that 1998 was not as hot as 1934. So the anti-global warming loons, not understanding that this action by Hanson gives them ammo (not really but superficially), want Hansen fired for this.
This wingnuts don't know whose side to take - but attach a label they don't like to someone/somegroup and they'll criticize them even for saying/doing things the wingnuts should appreciate.
