MoveOn.org has released a new ad, this time taking on Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani for missing key meetings of the Iraq Study Group and eventually dropping out to rake in big bucks at speaking engagements. Rudy's been out telling lies about Move On's ad in the New York Times last week and even tried to use it to attack Senator Hillary Clinton by taking out an ad of his own, but failed to get any movement on it outside of FOXNews and the wingnutosphere.

Ain't it sweet!! Now the left has a bark of it's own, and it's NOT bullshit lies as the right wing has been using in their swiftboating style.

Well, it's time SOMEBODY started playing hardball with these miserable jerks.

That was pretty good. I liked the additional comment about 3.2 million members."

Now they need to make a commercial about Rudy's "I was at ground zero as much if not more than the rescue workers" comment.

Moveon's playing too soft. Ask that S.O.B. Ghouliani how he knew the towers were coming down, as he's on record as stating, and why he didn't pull the firefighters out.

Then ask him why he authorized the premature removal of all that debris from the greatest crime scene in U.S. history.

Then ask him why human remains are buried in potholes throughout the five buroughs.

Betray of Trust is a great theme. It gets the traitor idea in while keeping it personal and non-hysterical.

Hey, if they make a commercial like that they may as well go all the way:

1) Why did you give the firefighters non-functioning radios? Radios that may have caused their deaths?

2) Why did you locate your headquarters in the WTC? A decision that may have caused even more deaths?

3) Why did you give out no-bid contracts? You know, like the ones abused by Iraq contractors?

I think I will just start sending MoveOn any extra money I have...they have Backbones...and now how to fight back..the Dems could learn a thing or two..

I think MoveOn could really put themselves in a position of leadership if they really push the theme of betrayal. I'm hoping they keep going with it. McCain, Lieberman, Romney, et al. better look out if they do, because "betrayal" can be defined in terms of "the other side of the political compromise coin."

I love it! Its straight forward and to the point. And I love when the Fox worms and rightwingers whine and squirm around. They can't fuckin stand it.

They could, but people like John Kerry and Elizabeth Edwards apparently learned the wrong lessons out of it.

Sorry, that feels like some pretty weak sauce.

How about addressing real Rudy issues, like arresting firefighters days after 9/11?!

Good-On-Ya, Move ON!
Keep it coming... FAST AND HARD!

Your next national ad should be about Bush's 36 countries that make up the Coalition Forces in Iraq... WHAT A BUNCH OF HOGWASH!

How many of those countries have ONLY ONE WARM BODY on the ground in the Green Zone! And how many of those countries would not have even THAT presence without getting paid CASH for it?

What's WRONG with modern day Republicans?
Have they lost all their common sense and humanity?

Love it! :D

I hope this is only the beginning. I hope they continue to hit hard and often. HARD and OFTEN!!!
The more Fox complain the better MoveON is doing. The more the neocon assholes complain the more I like it!!

Thats good - but just electing democraps as per move on is NOT the answer/ They ALL must be arrested!

#6 Otay,

Yep. And then run an ad posing the question to the American public:

"Would you support a presidential candidate who bears a striking resemblance to The Joker on 1000 hits of brown acid?"

And, off-topic, but doesn't Mitt Romney look an awfully lot like Bizarro Superman?

You know, that creep from the alternate world where down is up, 2 + 2 = 5, there are no craters on the moon & torture's cool w/ Jesus?

*awful

"Rudy Giuliani: A Betrayal of trust."

Didn't they forget the '?' Perhaps not. (One of those rare cases of an ambiguous statements you don't see to often.) But I certainly didn't, and still don't trust Giuliani to be anything but looking out for Giuliani. At least he didn't interfere with the Iraq Study Group.

Rudy. Leadership after its needed.

moveon's smackdown of the serial groom is top notch

Betrayal could be the theme of this whole lot of them. Majority of our people want out of Iraq, the majority of the Iraqi wants us out. Are they not betraying the will of the people all over the world?

make that "unambiguous"

The ad is straight forward, and paints Rudy has the political facade that he is in a non-controversial way. Remember, too much controversy in your message will not make an impression on people who aren't already members of the choir. To defeat Rudy as a candidate today means talking to the republicans.

Cheney blasts anti-Petraeus ad at GOP fund-raiser

"It's bad enough when politicians turn their backs on a war they voted for and supported when it was popular," Cheney said Monday. "But no one in politics, regardless of party, should hesitate to object when an American soldier at war is mocked and insulted."

Cheney said

But do you remember this??

Democrats: GOP 'mocking our troops'
Wednesday, September 1, 2004 Posted: 12:43 PM EDT (1643 GMT)

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Delegates to the Republican National Convention found a new way to take a jab at Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry's Vietnam service record: by sporting adhesive bandages with small purple hearts on them.

Morton Blackwell, a prominent Virginia delegate, has been handing out the heart-covered bandages to delegates, who've worn them on their chins, cheeks, the backs of their hands and other places.

Blackwell is president of the Leadership Institute, an educational foundation he founded in 1979. According to its Web site, the institute prepares conservatives for success in politics, government and the news media.

Kerry was a decorated Navy officer in Vietnam who became a prominent antiwar activist upon his return home. A group calling itself "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" has accused Kerry of lying to win combat decorations in Vietnam, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

And last week, former Sen. Bob Dole, the party's 1996 presidential nominee, brought more attention to the allegations when he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer, "With three Purple Hearts, he never bled that I know of. And they're all superficial wounds."

Dole apologized for the remark the next day after a personal call from Kerry, saying that before taping the interview, "maybe I should have stayed longer for brunch somewhere."

Donna Cain, an Oregon delegate, wore a purple heart bandage on her wrist.

Who is this ad targeting? The apathetic Republicans who couldn't care less if Rudy is what he claims to be and who, even if they saw this ad, still wouldn't care?

Trick question! Apathetic defines a republican.

As New Jersey residents, we had to put up with a lot of cheap, one-liners from Guiliani. I sincerely hope the Repukes nominate "Benito". The more you get to know him , the less you like him. To borrow a line from Joe Pesci's "Tommy Devito" character in 'Goodfellas', Rudy's a "mumbling, stuttering, little fuck."

Are you sure you don't mean just plain "pathetic"?

When is MoveOn going to do an ad featuring Rudy's penchant for cross dressing. There are many photos and videos of Rudy dressed as a woman. An ad like that should play real well in the South.

Certain parts of Idaho as well.

This was the best "Monty Python's Flying Circus" video clip I could find to match Giuliani's political ambitions. It's episode 34 "The Cycling tour" at the point when Mr. Gulliver who believes himself to be Leon Trotsky is reunited with the Soviet Communist Party at a grand ceremony marking his return, during which he undergoes another transformation, on stage, and becomes Eartha Kitt singing "Just An Old Fashioned Girl".

Guiliani - what a joke. This guy really is deluded if he thinks he's making it to the White House. Nomination maybe, but no more - what was the phrase describing him that i heard the other day?
Oh yeah, "the thrice married, cross-dressing abortionist."
Has anyone else picked up on his lame new phrase "The terrorists war on us" - what the hell is that? He tries to inject it into every speech, media relase, love-fest with Fox etc.
The idiot used it the other day talking about American sacrifice helping in the Terrorists War on Us - bloody idiot made it sound like American kids had died helping AQ - what a tool!

Good Campaign. I wonder who the next BETRAYER they will do.

I can't wait.

Good ad. This will cause more seizures in some of the idiots that think of Julie as being "America's Mayor".

I like the continuing theme of "betrayers" in the ads. After all, that is in fact what these people have done. They have betrayed the trust and will of the people. The description is accurate and needs to be repeated over and over. Be sure and use small words though. The target audience has trouble with words bigger than three syllables.

Look, take it from a born and bred tried and true native New Yorker----Giuliani has an ice-cube-shoved-up-Satan's-ass chance in hell of making it to the White House! In the twisted and demented minds of the less-than-30%'ers McCain will get the nomination long before that NYUU-YAAUUK cretin ever will....

Hey give Rudy de Tooty a break he was just" filling the old coffers "

Too easy a target. Repubs will use it to claim intolerance from the left. Better to focus on his real flaws rather than red herring issues. He has committed enough of them already.

I like this theme too. MoveOn should next focus on the fear that has been the staple of republican'ts campaign techniques. Especially the fact that the right believes that we as a people would cower from any attacker. Their false bravado should be exposed and pointed out in how they have conducted this "war". People need to see that their true color is yellow as it runs between their legs.

I heard that bush is going to sign an executive order declaring that 2+2=3.
That should help cut his number of people killed in his illeagle war.

jr @ 21:

"serial groom" LOL!! I love it! What a great term!

Has anyone seen this ad yet? I haven't.

Rudy - AMERICA'S BETRAYOR!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

"Praise the lord, and pass the ammunition!"

See "Giuliani Time" DVD for fascinating and deep examination of this nasty little prick's history and a taste of the battle ahead. Let's mobilize the
STOP RUDY NOW! Movement real quick, they are viscous and will play the "Fear Itself" theme to the max.

Think Giuliani thought Generals Westmoreland, Abrams, et al were betraying the country when they repeatedly lied through their teeth about "victory" in the criminal war on Vietnam and caused this little McCarthy wannabe to vote for McGovern in 1972?

Let's stop these warmongering little fascists for good.

sean hannity and mark levin must be disappointed in their efforts to get any real traction with this IMPOTENT ad...............speaking of IMPOTENT.........didn't rush "LIMPbaugh" taught you guys anything, that carrying water blindly for this EMPIRE as no effect on smart Americans...........remember November 06.

P.S. hey giuliani remember the OJ prosecution team which was egg on by court tv to let OJ try the glove on...........we all know that result, so keep letting sean hannity and fox noise egg you on.

Generally weak. The right wing showed it's muscle by making
Move On and it's NY Times ad the story. They have CNN
and ABC as well as Fox. WTF?

Guiliani is looking more and more like Nosferatu every day. Beautiful picture! Can you imagine waking up next to that every day... yuck!!!! and AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH!

With truth they are afraid to face, the right wing is being exposed more and more. keep it coming. the level of disgust continues to be ratcheted upward.

I love it!

From an article on Groupnewsblog.net-----

""Well hotshot, I just wonder...seeing as how the Times is taking money for ads from everybody—I think you paid about $70,000 for your dead-tree pants piss—I can't imagine it would be too hard for those who remember what you did to Patrick Dorismond's reputation, to dig up the dough, or find deep-pocketed, interested parties who would finance an ad reminding all of America about what you did. How you went out of your way to break the law to slam a dead Black man, and justify his murder. It's all in the public record...your every word. I think it's time you said you were sorry...to his family and friends.

I think it's high time that you apologized for your unbridled slander of a Black man whose unjustified death you championed at the hands of your police force, Rudy.

This isn't Hillary being asked to plead mea culpa for some shit she didn't say.

This is you being called on your own well-documented, evil words.

Are you man enough to own up to your slander, Rudy?""
