Friday night's Worst Person In The World Bronze award went to BillO for getting his butt whooped on his own comedy show (see The French Kiss) by fellow right wing hack, Bernard Goldberg, for not calling out Ann Coulter on her anti-semitic remarks. The Silver went to the DoD and the Gold went to the Cowardly Lion, Hugh Hewitt. Hewitt called Chris Matthews and Tim Russert "clowns" and said they ideologically damaged NBC because they once worked for Democratic politicians, then in the same interview said Diane Sawyer would make a great newscaster because she worked for...Richard Nixon.

I'm the first person in the world.

Twice.

I think most people lie occasionally. But these rightwingers lie daily. How can they live with themselves?

Diane Sawyer once worked for Tricky Dick? Really? Then again, Hugh was the first curator of the Tricky Dick Presidential library.

Need a correction: It wasn't Jonah Goldberg, but Bernard Goldberg---see Amato's post farther down.

Site Monitor: Sorry for the error. We've corrected it. Thanks for the heads up.

About Hewitt: he has become typical of the right wingnuts who were given job welfare in the media outlets by media companies afraid of being called "liberal".

He and his think there was actually a mandate to put him and his in the media spotlight - that the U.S. is a nation of right winger loons wanting to pull everything further to the right and only these winger welfare recipients have the character and talent to turn everything around to where the "nation and its non-elites" (according to them) wants to go.

They figure if they admit to God that they lied, He will forgive them. Being a hypocrite is the worst sin.

Noe of these people are even close.....

Nowhere near as bad as this heartless, clueless.....loser of a....

Well Nancy, maybe you ought to listen up. The Bush administration's 24% approval rating is telling me that 76% want impeachment.

maybe the war in iraq has really only cost half a billion dollars, he said thinking wishfully...

Caught 'cha, Hewy Louis and the News! Paint that map red!

Hugh Hewitt is a joke!

just don't understand how Hugh Hewitt can ever make any rational comments when
his mouth is full while up his butt.

It still is truly astonishing, even though it shouldn't be, to see right wing authoritarians in action and how they have absolutely no self reflection about themselves at all and no idea what hypocrites they really are.

How dumb do you have to be to get smacked down on your own show by Bernie Goldberg?

Colbert done a better smack job when he showed up, billo had no clue he'd been had. lol.

Mitt fetishist Hewitt is the bedwetter's bedwetter. No mattress is safe from his "liberal bias" hissy fitdom while being an infomercial for every con

Hewitt.. just another needledicked armchair pundit for the GOP dimwit class.

The repugs must play some kind of game, for instance; Who can come up with the best (to them) talking point distraction so chimpy can continue to create havoc. The prize must be milliions of dollars.

Ms. Sawyer must have been about 2 years old when she wrote for tricky dicky.

Is....that....the....joke?

PMS-NBC is not a player in the world of news ...

Bwahahaha! PMS-NBC! Hilarious! Right up there with fart jokes and arm-pit sounds!

I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't some perverted art form going on with these comically ironic 180-degree reversals. Seems like every day one of these reichwing hacks decries something in their adversaries, and then, sometimes in the same sentence they go on to commit the very offense that they just accused others of committing. Is the "Church of the Big 180" real?

Oh they know, they just don't care.

Billo and Coultergeist Frenching? I will try to take Keith's advice and "contain my nausea" at the thought of Adam's apples and loofahs and falafels...

News Flash! Jews think Jesus was a liar! Christians should be angry!

News Flash! Christians don't believe Mohammad spoke to god! Muslims should be offended!

News Flash! Buddhists don't even who the hell those people are! Fight! Fight! Fight!

How about you all grow up and get a grip on reality. Christians think they know god better than anyone else. Jews think they know god better than anyone else. Buddhists know more gods than either! Atheists claim they are enlightened without god. Twist and turn the commonly known facts of life and try to get yourself and others offended. Bleh...

"...and I'm supposed to believe Gen. Patraeus?"

Classic KO again. Plus I love it when he says Coultergeist. That name fits that tramp perfectly.

I think Keith is basically a hero. I agree wholeheartedly with 99% of what he says. But does anyone agree with me that he does himself a disservice by imitating people with funny voices all the time?

it waters down the argument and makes him seem silly. (I can see if he tried to do actually parody or imitations...but the schoolyard taunt voice is lame.)

No.

Properly, you get your ass 'whupped', not 'whooped'. That is something else altogether, and anathema to wingnuts.

I made my opinion known at this web site. As liberals we have been marginalized & disenfranchised ever since Bill Clinton was elected in 1992 or maybe even further back to the Reagan days. She just does not get it.

Well Nancy, maybe you ought to listen up. The Bush administration's 24% approval rating is telling me that 76% want impeachment.

And what does Congress' 11% rating tell you?

Self reflection Test:

Please listen to the show KO is talking about here: http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/talkradio/Show.aspx?RadioShowID=5
Go to Thursday October 18, 2007 Howard Kurtz, Pt. 2 With Hugh Hewitt and get to about minute number 6 and listen for a few minutes.

It seems to me that HH said some rather disparaging things about KO, "left wing lunatic", and referred to Tim Russert and Chris Mathews as Democrats. When HH later referred to MSNBC hurting Brian Williams and the NBC Nightly News because of MSNBC's ideology and the "clowns" there, including Scarborough and Carlson, he is talking about KO, Scarborough, Carlson and Mathews. Certainly, someone might be able to interpret what he was including Russert as well, but the people he referred to in the most disparaging manner were KO, Scarborough and Carlson (with the most harsh comments directed toward Kieth).

After KO stops the voice mimic and finally says "quote, they worked for two democratic politicians close to 20 years ago" he is slightly misquoting HH's interviewee, Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post, who complemented KO as being a "great broadcaster" but goes on to mention a criticism that must have hurt KO a little. "...he only has liberals and democrats on, people who basically agree with him. Unlike, even Bill O'Rielly, who constantly has people from the other side, and they argue about things". Smack!

As for the discussion concerning Diane Sawyer and her potential as a network news anchor, HH is pointing out that she worked for Nixon in the context of pointing out her intelligence. I don't believe that HH disparaged the intelligence of Chris Mathews or Tim Russert at any point, but he did say "Red State Americans think they are Democratic activists in disguise...Rightly or wrongly". I suppose someone could say that Diane Sawyer would be believed to be a Republican "activist in disguise", but that does not make him a hypocrite, it just makes him partisan. Something he has never backed away form.

It might me possible to try really hard and think what HH had to say was hypocritical, but "transparent"? That is a stretch, but not as much of one as calling what HH did and/or said, qualifications for being considered the "Worst person in the world" even for just one day.

PS: HH called KO a "Left wing lunatic" and then KO called HH a "lunatic fringe radioist". Good originality there big guy.
