Mark Cuban Challenges Bill O'Reilly To Face Him On Countdown

On Tuesday's Countdown, Keith Olbermann takes on the Falafel Guy for his outrageous attacks on Mark Cuban and his total lack of knowledge when it comes to the history of free speech. O'Reilly has suggested that somehow FDR would have arrested and jailed Cuban for producing a movie like Brian De Palma's Redacted (which he admits he's never seen) or for simply criticizing BillO himself.
O'Reilly also called on his minions to boycott Redacted and hold signs up saying "support the troops" outside any theater that shows the film and at Maverick games. Like those 70-80 year olds that make up most of Billo's audience are going to go sit outside the American Airlines Center with signs.
Cuban responded by challenging The Culture Warrior to watch the movie with him and appear with him on Countdown to talk about the movie -- of course, Keith would get to moderate.

Actually, that would be something to see. It won't happen, though, because Bill is a weasel and a coward who KNOWS Mark Cuban would chop him into little pieces and have him for breakfast, so he won't accept.

Somewhat OT, but I was disappointed that in KeithO's recent finger wag at Fox's hypocritical "outraged" pose as a cheap excuse to show prime time smut, KO showed over 5 min and 30 secs of a (6:30 item) SMUT HIMSELF before "disgustedly" demanding that the gratuitous smut be shut down.
Say what you want about Cuban, but he turned one of the biggest dogs in sports history into a perennial contender through sheer enthusiasm (ok, and piles of money). What the hell has Billo ever done beyond playa hatin'?
Sheesh, I say let Mark Cuban run the country for awhile; not only would Dirk Nowitski bean Bin Laden right on the noggin with his first three pointer, but Cuban would make sure there was an Xbox in every house!

What are the grounds for trespassing if a reporter insist an interview, while in the garage of your home? he wasn't just on the driveway but followed him all the way inside the garage of his home.

The U.S. Army combats war-mongering regimes and vile dictatorships per course.
But even the world's mightiest force can't fight Dallas City Hall.
Several Army recruiters learned as much Tuesday after finding five of their vehicles immobilized with metal boots by Dallas city parking services workers.
City records indicate that together, the Army owed more than $2,635 in unpaid parking tickets and associated fines on the vehicles — well beyond the threshold for just slapping another ticket on another windshield.
So without wheels, a half-dozen soldiers marched from their cars near downtown's Union Station straight to the offices of Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and City Manager Mary Suhm.
Several city employees recounted that the befuddled soldiers requested meetings. They demanded answers. They argued that they had important places to go, and now, couldn't get there.
The city's response? Give us our cash, and we'll give you your cars.
"I'm sorry they were inconvenienced, but everybody's got to pay their tickets. If one of our city employees gets a ticket, they pay it, too," Ms. Suhm said.
Said Mr. Leppert: "I would hope they pay their tickets. Our intent is to treat everyone fairly."
The city caught the parking ticket scofflaws by using a sport utility vehicle-mounted system that, as it drives up and down the streets of Dallas, automatically identifies the license plates of vehicles with numerous outstanding parking fines.
Using the system, the city on Tuesday also booted a vehicle belonging to the Marines — which promptly paid a $1,065 fine — and two other unidentified government cars believed to belong either to the Navy or Air Force, said Zena Fernino, Dallas' parking management and enforcement division manager.
Individual Soldiers are required by the Army to follow all municipal laws while on official business and likewise bear responsibility for any parking tickets they incur while driving Army vehicles, said Kim Hanson, a public affairs officer for the Army recruiting battalion in Dallas.
Because of this, however, battalion leaders don't typically see the tickets, Ms. Hanson said. And without a full accounting of the tickets, the Army doesn't necessarily know which soldiers it should pressure to pay, she added.
But after a Dallas Morning News investigation last year into City Hall's parking management — motorists at the time owed at least $40 million in outstanding fines — the city quickly overhauled many of its collection practices, including creating a parking ticket payment program for companies and government entities that use sizable vehicle fleets.
Under the program, the company or government entity gives Dallas a list of its fleet's license plate numbers. Then Dallas sends it a single monthly bill for outstanding parking tickets.
The Navy and Marines signed up for the fleet program. The Army did not. That, however, may change after Tuesday's booting affair, Ms. Hanson said. The Army recruiting office said it has about 300 vehicles operating in the North Texas area.
"It sounds like something we're going to pursue," she said of the fleet program.
As for the angry soldiers' vehicles?
The Army paid off fines on three of the cars but were unable to clear the others, which Dallas officials towed to the city auto pound, Ms. Fernino said Tuesday night.
She added that the city also impounded the two unidentified government cars.
In Dallas, booted cars still on city streets after 10 p.m. are towed to the pound — a process that results in yet more fines.
"We're still working on it," Ms. Hanson said.

Criticism of the military is unwarranted in a democracy? I suppose by that logic then the civilian victims of, say, Argentina's Dirty War are being unpatriotic whiners for criticizing their country's supposed war on "terror." There was a very good reason why this country's founders were deeply opposed to a standing army. They knew as well as Eisenhower what the end result of that would be. Make no mistake. Although I haven't seen Redacted yet, I wanna first see Beowulf, I can't imagine how it insults our troops. Redaction is usually practiced by the CIA, and the Foreign Intelligence services of other countries, not our military. And it was the CIA that first cried foul on American use of torture.
Funny thing is how we keep hearing of the redacted prisoners being referred to as "ghost prisoners," who are officially not in any given jail, and even the more run-of-the-mill guards have no access to. The first time I heard the phrase was when they tried to pin the Abu Ghraib tortures on the highest ranking officer Army Reserve Brigadier General Janis Karpinski. She said on 60 Minutes that there were "ghost prisoners" she had never seen and wasn't allowed to ask about.
No the insult to the troops is the whole boosh/torture program. We even have former World War II interrogators crying foul about it. They say it potentially endangers our troops lest they be captured.
Before this movie , I used to trust foreign soldiers/mercenaries in my country.

The difference between a person like you and a person like me is I can handle when someone doesn't agree with me and I can also handle when someone calls me a name because I respect everyone's opinion whether I agree with it or I don't.
