Mike's Blog Round Up
I'm Manila Ryce from The Largest Minority. We have a week together so let's make the most of it.
I don't know about you, but I turn to Bill O'Reilly when I feel the need to brush up on the New Testament . After all, who else knows theology better than a political pundit?
The French are revolting. Sorry, there's no bad punchline there. Steve from COA News treats us to a Real News video about the workers of France rejecting Sarkozy's anti-labor agenda.
Robert Stein has a crystal ball which told him over a year ago that Lou Dobbs would be running for something. It wasn't the border.
And though our "immigration crisis" is a side effect of NAFTA locking Mexico's economy into foreign exploitation, Hillary's only account of the 1993 debate over the trade agreement is that it contained charts and stuff. Would Senator Obama like to weigh in on that? Nope? Um…okay.
Finally, Emily of KABOBfest reminds us that protecting human rights might be just a bit more important than strict adherence to certain laws. The rights of real people supersede imaginary borders? Crazy concept, I know.

People Who "Make Numerous References to the Constitution" Are "Potential Terrorists"
According to Dr Rima Laibow M.D., under the new Freedom Commission mentally unstable people must be medicated on a compulsory basis with untested but very profitable psychiatric medications.

I wouldn't get your hopes up to high that the CABAL OF IDIOTS WHO ARE DRIVING THIS MESS will somehow have a "spiritual awakening" and actually change course.
Newspeak (wiki)
Newspeak is a fictional language in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. In the novel, it is described as being "the only language in the world whose vocabulary gets smaller every year." Orwell included an essay about it in the form of an Appendix[1] in which the basic principles of the language are explained. Newspeak is closely based on English but has a greatly reduced and simplified vocabulary and grammar. This suited the totalitarian regime of the Party, whose aim was to make any alternative thinking ("thoughtcrime") or speech impossible by removing any words or possible constructs which describe the ideas of freedom, rebellion and so on. One character says admiringly of the shrinking volume of the new dictionary: "It's a beautiful thing, the destruction of words."

You have to have a spirit that can be awakened.
so·ci·o·path
–noun Psychiatry. a person, as a psychopathic personality, whose behavior is antisocial and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience
On the opposite side, if I want to hear what Bill O'Reilly has to say I just turn to the White House or RNC websites. After all, its better to get a load of horse s---t straight from the horse's mouth than it is from its ass end.
What is with Oh'Really? Catholics are taught that (book of John) was about the suffering of Christians under Nero. PAST tense. He's obviously been listening to Hagee.
I shudder to think of the REAL culture war when Catholics and Evangelical Fundamentalists collide on this issue of '"innerrancy", Oh' Really is just helping to import Northern Ireland style conflict over here. The secular, as in government, culture, popular entertainment, ect. helps provide a buffer and common ground to people otherwise divided by matters of faith, obligation, ethnic heritage or other private allegiances and beliefs.

How many people actually watch these news shows. Most people I run into barely know we're at war in Iraq.
I read in an Australian Newpaper that in the year 2005, on average 17 Iraq veterans committed suicide and that the number of Iraq vets who killed themselves is twice the number as have been killed in combat.
People keep shopping although everyone is terrified about poison toys for their children this year.
AJFan @ 4:
OK
AJFan @ 10:
Agreed. Most people that I run into barely know anything about the situation in Iraq today and some even think Afghanistan has been turned in a new "New York" or something. Still others think Iraq and Afghanistan are completely peaceful now if you can believe that. They pay absolutely no mind to what is happening in those nations and to our military. Frankly, I think they simply do not care unless it happens to be them that is over there.
Um....I'm sorry the illegal person's breasts swelled/got engorged because she was in jail as a result of a ICE sweep...and I'm sorry her baby is now on formula. HOWEVER.
No one told her to come here illegally, no one promised her immunity if she did come, and she is just plain foolish -- if not stupid for thinking that she was exempt from the laws of this country. For Christ's sake, MEXICO -- where she came from -- has stricter laws and ENFORCES them better than us!!!
That's the problem here. Everybody thinks the rules apply to everyone EXCEPT THEM.
If you don't have the skills to come here legally, then don't bother, I don't have any sympathy for you when you get caught. In fact, I'll gladly call the ICE myself on you.
