Welcome to our world. The Rudy Giuliani worship is pretty steep over on FOX Noise, but it was funny watching Fredrick of Hollywood cry "bias" to Chris Wallace on FNS. It doesn't kinda work...you know...when a conservative pulls out their dusty old playbook against one of their own. it just doesn't have the same "ring" to it.
Think Progress has the transcript:
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER, COLUMNIST: Thompson offers the folksy manner of a consistent conservative, but there’s not anything there. And in the absence of something, he can’t win.
(END VIDEO CLIP) WALLACE: Senator, I suspect you’ve gotten a few bad reviews for movies or T.V. shows in the past, but that’s pretty tough stuff. How do you respond?
THOMPSON: Yes. It’s a lot of the same kind of stuff that I heard when I first ran for office, when I was 20 points down. And fortunately, I wound up 20 points ahead on election night.
This has been a constant mantra of Fox, to tell you the truth. And I saw the promo for this bill, and I think it was kind of — for this show, and it was kind of featuring the New Hampshire poll.
Let’s put things in context a little bit, to start with.
WALLACE: Well, I don’t know that —- I mean, I don’t know that Fox has been going after you, and I certainly don’t think Charles Krauthammer and Fred Barnes…
THOMPSON: From day one, they said I got in too late, I couldn’t do it.
WALLACE: But there were a lot of people besides Fox who said that, sir.
THOMPSON: Well, but I’m — these are the two you used.
WALLACE: Right.
THOMPSON: All right. Well, they said I got in too late, couldn’t do it…
WALLACE: Right.
THOMPSON: … wouldn’t raise enough money, and that sort of thing. And that’s their opinion. They’re entitled to their opinion.
But that doesn’t seem to be shared by the cross-section of American people. If you look at the national polls, you’ll see that I’m running second and have been running second for a long time.
I’m running ahead of a guy who spent probably $50 million more than I have and been running for a year longer. If you look in South Carolina, I’ve either been leading or tied for the lead for a long, long time. I moved from fourth to third in Iowa, ahead of Rudy Giuliani, incidentally.
So you know, they’re entitled to their opinion, but for you to highlight nothing but the negative in terms of these polls, and then put on your own guys, who have been predicting for four months, really, that I couldn’t do it, you know, kind of skews things a little bit.
There’s a lot of other opinion out there. National Review that I…
WALLACE: Do you know anybody who thinks you’ve run a great campaign, sir?
THOMPSON: It’s not for me to come here and try to convince you that somebody else thinks that I’ve run a great campaign.
WALLACE: Well, but that’s why I…

I'm still stuffed...
I kid! But that's the first thing that came to mind rather than, "First!".
He'll make a terrific (smelling) POTUS!
Oldington Hotwife doesn't like this
liberalmedia bias!Wow ... that was all batshit crazy and stuff.
personally, i like the fact that he stood up and stuck it back in wallace's face. when was the last time a dem did that.
What was your first clue idiot?
What a baby.
no longer a proud american @ 6:
bill clinton... fox had the headline 'clinton goes crazy'
no longer a proud american @ 6:
Bill Clinton
hey we all knew fox was a right wing propaganda outlet. but now that it's obvious that they've taken sides in the repub primary (giuliani's, that is) it's gonna be fun watching the unfavored GOPers start to go after them.
time for us to divide and conquer on that basis.
That's right, Fred. You're losing because of Fox News bias. Only reason there could be.
I dunno, I'd make a ringtone of it.
Bonkers @ 1:
You're a taxidermist?
Didn't the Beatles have a song that went "Let me tell you how it will be;
There's one for you, nineteen for me.
'Cause I’m the taxidermist,
Yeah, I’m the taxidermist..".
Reich-wingers really are pansy wimps....always whining and crying like 4 year old girls. If Hollywood Fred cannot stand up to Faux, how can he stand up to terrorists?
Nice (fu*ing) mess we're in.

Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal tells TIME that he is optimistic about this week's Middle East peace conference in Annapolis because of what he calls U.S. determination "to see this through." Continuous U.S. mediation in post-conference negotiations, including pressure on Israel, he says, "can turn things around" and lead to a comprehensive settlement before President Bush's term expires in 13 months.
But, speaking in Paris just hours before his scheduled arrival in the U.S., Prince Saud warned Israelis that they would have no peace until Israel withdrew from Arab territories captured in the 1967 war. Saud, who will be the highest ranking Saudi to ever attend a peace conference with the Jewish state, added that he would not shake the hand of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert or make a symbolic visit to Jerusalem before a peace deal. "The hand that has been extended to us has been a fist so far," he said. He warned Israelis against seeking a surrender, adding, "We don't need a Versailles for the Arab world, a peace that will only be an instigator of future wars."
So who's side does the USA take?
Saudi Arabia? Or Israel?
Situation Normal. ALL FUC*ED UP
John!
The Quicktime version of the video is mistakenly linked to the Graham video... WMV works.
[Thanks. I've passed your message along-Sitemonitor]
Although it's the only time I've seen a bias from FOX, I watched it happen. There's no question about it.
Don't be silly. The average FOX viewer, with the IQ of a nematode wouldn't see the connection. They'd just see poor old Fred, a true conservative being bashed by the liberal media, and in the same breath muse about FOX News being the only news outlet without a liberal bias. I can't believe these morons need FURTHER proof that humans evolved from monkeys.
Would you like my hankie sweetie? Call a democratic candidate - they can relate . . . .

Fred Thompson thinks this is one of the critical problems facing the country? That people are worried about Fox being biased?
Oh let me guess this keeps the lefty opponents glued to Fox which they wouldn't otherwise even bother to watch if there wasn't some right wing nut case spewing about their opponents.
Hey Fred, can you say Equal Air Doctrine? Though as I ask that question I'm not convinced it applies in this case.
L.A. Confidential @ 17:
Ironically, this is a rare bird. It's a REPUBLICAN wedge issue! If it ever came down to a choice between Israel and Saudi Arabia, the oil-mad corporatists would side with Saudi Arabia, while the wingnut 'end-timers' will side with Israel every time.
Pericles @ 24:
You got that right.
He wasn't whining for the months prior to his announcement to run when the entire network was licking his boots, calling him the savior of the reich-wing movement, and calling him the next ronny raygun.
leftminded @ 23:
These con morons know all they have to do is show up on these shows and they got their fingers wiggling up the ass of every non republican who has to "monitor these guys on TeeVee because thats really fighting them."
Sheesh
no longer a proud american @ 6:
Clinton. (Unless that question was rhetorical.)
I think sticking your finger in Wallace's face, and bellowing 'you did your nice little (insert political bias of choice) hit job on me...' is getting to be a cute little tradition for kicking off a political campaign. You know? Like GROUNDHOG day, or maybe 'turkey freedom day' is a more appropriate example. You know...you go on FOX News and accuse Wallace of being a shill for the other side, and then spend the next six weeks on the road playing the romantic martyr who finally learned to fight back.
Yeah, granted, Fred Thompson is a snoozy, Old Spice Grampa who's wholly unqualified to be President of the United States, and yes, his candidacy being taken at all seriously in the first place is pretty much an invention of MSM. But, what's the slapdown here all about?
Not that I spend a lot of time watching Fox, (in fact make that NONE outside what I monitor here at C&L) but he's probably correct. They are biased against him so why shouldn't he fight back? (In that folksy, grumpy-old-man way, of course).
Do his tears smell of Aqua Velva?
Dr. Matt @ 15:
Teevee is now a weapon. They use it as a divide and conquer strategy. Diversion. It's as easy as putting Ann Coulter or Uncle Fred on Fox TeeVee and every non republican will be glued to the tube "monitoring" it, then writing about it, (that will show em) while the real "rats" keep on looting the American economy behind the scenes. Or now trying to hide the real economic damage while bailing out the crooks who pulled this crap off this past seven years.
One more year of this crap and we are likely to be in for a severe SHOCK.
Soon Fox will report "the emotionally unstable Fred Thompson breaks down" .
Lets see.. Everyone hates Fred. Fox (and MSNBC since Mathews almost jacks off everytime he talks about him) loves Rudy. CNN hearts Hillary. Who loves Mittens?
Poor Fred. He didn't get the memo about Fox news. The one that says, hell yes, they are biased. Maybe it was sent to him via snail mail.
no longer a proud american @ 6:
Bill Clinton - and wasn't it with Wallace?

ysaddaden @ 30:
You have to keep in mind the elites are to busy hustling and moving to be concerned with stuff like that.
Take my word for it I know how these people operate. They rarely even hear of or pay attention to words slung at them from the public. If they did and were sensitive types the whole government would have collapsed in 2003 or earlier from all the humiliation.
FuxNooz chose it's candidate a long time ago and it surely is not Fred Thompson,
it's Hannity's boyfriend Rudy.
Whilst the dopes at Faux assert that Reagan/Boosh/Boosh served us well in surviving their “formative” years despite not enough oxygen getting past the blood/brain barrier, these celluloid mutations transformed normal features and/or behaviors into genuine extremes, meant to be frightening and/or disturbingly comic. Within this tale of tragedy and trifle, the flowers of evil found within their gardens have mutated into ugly harbringers of death. ie, Boosh senior and junior, and the neo-Frankenstien Cheney. While the physical features of these knuckleheads have grown more bizarre, their interior workings have become a frightening caricature of humanity (hint, hint, nudge, nudge). Grotesque also defines two separate modes of their existence, comedy and tragedy. The result is a disturbing fiction propped up by Faux and any number of so-called un-biased pundits with an axe to grind and no apparent purpose, wherein comic circumstances prelude horrific tragedy and vice versa, the "true" nature of God discovered, during one of Reagan's youthful outbursts, and accompanying heavenly vision, whilst standing in a hog-pen. Please Faux, for the sake of a wounded but not terminal country, just go away for the next, say, 20 years until we clean up the mess Reagan and his pinhead minions have dumped on this beloved land o' ours, not to mention that he and his ilk have shat all over our backyard.
StirFry @ 32:
Yeah of course it would be planned and scripted with Thompsons approval so the public can then go "oh hahaha Fred had a breakdown oh hahahaha" while the cons clean out the treasury and sell off the rest of the country to the highest foreign bidder.
Sledgehammer your TeeVee. If a mass nationwide TeeVee smash happened then the Elites would start getting nervous. Then they would start getting very concerned.
"What? The masses are smashing their Large Screen, Plasma, and Flat Screen TeeVees? Uh Oh".
Sometimes it takes one of their own to pull the rug out from the debris below. If a Democrat said it it would have been swept under, business as usual.
L.A. Confidential @ 25:
So how do we play it up? ;-)
StirFry @ 32:
There is something terribly, horribly wrong about Matthews and his man-crushes.

I admire Fred for having the guts to take on Fox's bias while being interviewed in their studios. Democrats could take a lesson from this. Fred does a good job of answering with the facts available to him. Unfortunately, his "I have laid out specific policies" argument, which his strategist Mary Matalin repeated yesterday on Meet the Press, is not exactly going to excite voters or convince people that he is the winning candidate (or that his specific proposals are even ones they agree with).
L.A. Confidential @ 39:
We turned ours off (completely) about 15 years ago.

paranoia @ 40:
For the first time in my life I'm beginning to think this country has more problems at this critical juncture then we do solutions. That really worries me. I'm really getting concerned. Really seriously concerned.
Terrible @ 41:
The Arabs and the Israeli's have to fix it. No one else can do it for them at this point. We Americans and our country is being sacrificed.
We're fodder. It's plain and simple.
Laura Ingraham sucked up to Jeri when she interviewed her on the "Factor" and Sean sucked up to Fred and Jeri but that isn't enough for Fred. F Dick Wolf for giving him the welfare job
in the world of repubes, things never ever suck unless the things are done against them. bush was a god child president until he crossed repubes on the harriet meyers thing and imigration reform. what would the world be like if everyone of us lived in our own bubble? i feel so sad that "get in late but get in before it is illegal to stay out" fredie is not getting the full and balanced fox support. the same balanced support and reporting that the rest of humanity is served day in and day out. if only fred was in a position in the past to help the top honcho at fox get his spin mill up and running all those years ago. hey frederic, cry me a flippin river dude, then go away.
Poor guy didn't realize he had to do more than be an old white actor with a folksy manner to become president. He wouldn't have to do much, but a little more. And it seems the fresh "9/11! BOMB! TORTURE!" message of Rudy G. is really resonating with 'conservative' voters.
Oh the irony....
The ole fella doesn't have a thang to worry about. Timmeh Russert on NBC's Meet the Press yesterday gave Mary Matalin all the time she needed, to praise Fred to the skies and anoint him as the next prez with darth cheney's endorsement. Meet the Press gets a lot more viewers than any Faux Noise program.
no longer a proud american @ 6:
Bill Clinton did it not too long ago. It was awe-inspiring!
This is a major step towards enlightenment for a huge portion of conservative America; how else will the disciples of Fox News learn that Fox News is biased, if they don't hear about it on Fox News?
The Wall Street Douchbag Journal reports that Hollywood Fred is attempting to virilize his flaccid campaign by proposing a flat tax. Yeah, that'll probably work.
Tazer them all !
"For the first time in my life I’m beginning to think this country has more problems at this critical juncture then we do solutions. That really worries me. I’m really getting concerned. Really seriously concerned"
Could not agree more. It's like all of our efforts are useless. don't want to be too negative, but writing on the blogs, what does that do other than preach to the choir. what the right conservative side does on a daily basis is absolutely disgraceful and yet middle america supports them to the hilt. it's as though they will not see what is slapping them in the face. it's only about support bush, guilliani and any right wing slob sticking his hand or foot under the bathroom stall. support them all because they espouse what america is all about, what it's always been about. racism, god, freedom liberty keep america safe, one language, English, allow the military to be led at the top by those who were too lazy, fearful or were cowards to serve themselves. but they can lead our military. It was a great concept this America, for 200 years it served as a beacon for the world. now with the emergence of bush, this country sinks beneath the horizon. I fear it's gone.
As I watched this clip carefully, employing the critical eye that permits me to make the usually insightful analysis I am capable of, one overriding fact just leaps out at me for perhaps the entire length of the clip; "Chris Wallace is such a dweeb."
no longer a proud american @ 6:
Bill Clinton?
Poor Fred. I may lose 45 seconds of sleep over this tonight.
I don't think he's whining, I think he's telling it the way he sees it. Dems can holler 'til the cows come home about Fox Noise bias, but the audience isn't going to pay attention until someone like Grandpa Fred starts crying foul.
Fox has an agenda to accomplish, and they'll run over anyone in their way, Dems and Repubs alike, doesn't make a difference. If Grandpa Fred wins the nomination *snicker snicker* then Fox will claim he's the best thing ever since Rat Bastard Reagan, and all their anti-Thompson commentaries will be tossed into the memory hole.
Did Fred ever wake up for the interview, I waited for like 60 seconds and gave up!
Fred made a critical mistake, not bringing the Trophy Wife on.
She could have done the Sideways-Chest pose, ala Katie Harris
to Sean H, and frozen the Faux Camera man in his tracks.
While they were all mesmerized, Fred could have lept up ran and grabbed all the secret Faux daily memos that say "Dish Thompson and Mitt, push Rudy..." and revealed the evil conspiracy to tank his campaign with the Faux viewers...
Oh, wait, that part about Fred leaping up? I guess that was a flaw in my plan.....
Chris Wallace is such a douchebag...I actually gained some respect for Fred Thompson after seeing this interview.
Fred Thompson has nothing to worry about. Fox 'news' viewers are dumber than shit, they can't pronounce the word 'bias' much less know what it is.
I'm no Thompson fan but I have to admit it was nice to see him shut down Chris Wallace. FLMAO!
Don't forget, Thompson is strictly Hollywood, and strictly republican, and strictly stupid, so when he says 'bias', he is really thinking 'bi-ass', which is how he views Fox's talking heads, which is probably pretty close to realty.
'Of indeterminate sexual propensities' might be a more rigid definition, but 'Bi-ass' is close.
no longer a proud american @ 6:
At least twice in very recent memory: (1) Bill Clinton when he told Wall-ass Fox was out to get him, and (2) Chris Dodd when he sparred with Wall-ass and won, hands down (even some neocon/GOP pundits admitting Dodd had trounced Chrissy-pooh).
chris wallace: so does anyone not make you cry
fred: yes, my wife of fourteen years
chris: gee i thought she was at least sixteen
.......................w00t what a CRYBABY...... they didn't think it could be done, that a poor unknown.....EX SENATOR MAJOR LOBBIEST GOP TOOL WITH AN ACTING CAREER... could get in his little red truck and drive to washington as an OUTSIDER and be recognized so quickly... and that IN AN ELECTION CYCLE WHERE THE GOP CAN ONLY OFFER UP a cross-dressing 9/11 hero of the world, a bush clone who has lost his jellybeans, and a "mormon" who is barely acceptable to the right wing CAN JUMP TO THE FRONT AS A WAR MONGERING ACTOR LOBBIEST WHO THINKS THE ANSWER IS TO INCREASE THE MILITARY.
WHAT A COME FROM BEHIND STORY!!!!!
WHAT AN EPIC ADVENTURE WORTHY OF A MOVIE!!!!!
.....DID I MENTION... WHAT A F(*&^* MORON CRYBABY....
----------------"they're picking on me" now THERE is a presidential motto
He is such a whiny little bitch.....Just like an actor...err....Lobbyist...errr...presidential candidate..err....
Hey Fred, What is it you want to be when you grow up...Never mind this question can wait cause its gonna be a while so you have plenty of time to think about it.
