Countdown's Worst Persons: Robertson vs McCain vs BillO

Pat Robertson took the Bronze award in Tuesday's Worst Person in the World segment on Countdown, for telling a Rudy Giuliani supporter that yoga is eeevil. (who knew?) The Silver went to Senator John McCain for invoking Hitler during Wednesday's Republican presidential debate and the Gold went to the perennial Bill O'Reilly for declaring a great victory in his War on Christmas crusade -- all because a Colorado city decided to continue to publicly fund Christmas decorations. Here we go again...
Olbermann: "Defending Christmas, brought to you by the guy who said on the air he thought Christ lived 5000 years ago."

Ha! BillO...What a douche. Why would Christians listen to anything he says if he didn't even understand that basic fact? Dur-the western calendar is based on the number of years since then.
The Billofication of Murica continues.
I'm surprised his listeners are out in the streets dragging liberals behind their pickups by now.
I like Keith. A lot. But I wish he'd change it to The Worst Person in Politics or something. Because I think the president of Sudan, for example, is worse than a bloated media hack like O'Reilly.
Keith doesn't always have to be so partisan to build his audience by mislabelling them as something they aren't.
Roberts remark so deserved Olbermanns slap down.
They pay this man to say this on tv?!!! I'm underwhelmed...
I wish robertson could see just how irrelevant and ridiculous he looks. Does jebus send him these little gems in his magic candy grams from heaven? Or is pat huffing paint thinner behind the pulpit?
jeez, what is it with this blog and O'Reilly, anyway?
Only 5,000 years ago...gee I thought BillO said it was 6,000 years ago; but regardless,
O'Liely got the scoop for the group by visiting the Creation Museum in Pittsburg, Tenn.
and getting to play in the Garden of Eden exhibt and riding on the backs of the dinasours
who co-existed with man/woman back then and survived together in the Ark build
by Noah. Damn that must have been one BIG ark.
skycypher @ 5:
They pay Billo, Hannity, Glenn Beck etc. don't they?
Why not?
I'm underwhelmed by your comment. :P
web_geek @ 9:
The problem is these guys now have brain dead people starting to think.
nsr @ 7:
The site is called Crooks and Liars - and O'Reilly is a highly paid liar who lies to millions of people every night and does tremendous damage to our counrty. Anything else we can help you with?
Alright.......Now I can unpack and tell the kids where not moving. Bilbo says its safe now that we won the war on xmas.
DiamondMC @ 12:
Billos trying Brownshirt America. Thankfully they can't get up off the couch.
L.A. Confidential @ 13:

Can the same be said of the Bush/O'Reilly/Republican hating Olbermann? Hes just pandering to his selected audience like O'Reilly and Crooks and Liars.
Zoop @ 15:
The difference is we here see through the bullshit. The right wingers don't.
Bill wins again?!
It's fixed.
The war on
winter solsticeChristmas began when anti-pagan zealouts invoked biblical passages into a secular holiday.Feliz Navidad!
16 LA.
The difference is we here see through the bullshit. The right wingers don’t.
Ahhh......I see-Its the "I'm right and everbody else is wrong" mentality.
Let me write that down so I don't forget...Snark
Zoop @ 15:
When Olbermann presents a fact that subsequently turns out to be incorrect he acknowledges it; the homeless/veterans statistic is a recent example.
O'Reilly, Hannity et al.? Not so much with the mea culpas.
Maybe Bush will make it to the top of the medal platform next Monday for slashing counter-terrorism training funds. Friday news dump can't hide that one.
Diamond on a goat's ass.
Zoop @ 19:
L.A. Confidential @ 16:
The right vs left group lumping is a hoax. The real seperation of America is the moderates from the extremists. And the rightwing isn't the only place you'll find the latter.
Zoop @ 19:
No it's not a matter of "I'm right and everbody else is wrong" it's just the sad truth.
#22 Joe for Unity08:
I agree
#23 LA.
Thanks for proving my point.
Joe for Unity08 @ 22:
I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!
Zoop @ 24:
I know there's space cases on the left. Your point?
LA.
My point?
Ahhh……I see-Its the “I’m right and everbody else is wrong” mentality.
Let me write that down so I don’t forget…Snark
No it’s not a matter of “I’m right and everbody else is wrong” it’s just the sad truth.
You prove the "I’m right and everbody else is wrong" part by your "it's just the sad truth" Get it?
Have a good weekend. I'm going home.
Bill O is a SEXUAL PREDATOR!
Zoop @ 27:
Go ahead Cut and Run when the going gets tough.
And while we're on that what are you doing posting on your bosses time?
Typical
McCains campaign was already dead, but that shot at Paul and rewrite of history basically resulted in the destruction of himself.
Gary @ 31:
Ron Paul's campaign has been little more than a joke from the start.
Gary @ 31:
Not even his anti-torture exchange with Mitt Romney saved him in my mind. I think Mike Huckabee is the only candidate that could beat the democrats by exciting their base and even he can't beat Hillary.
Joe for Unity08 @ 22:
Again with the failing educational system in this country. (You're Americans right?)
Zoop and Joe, we are talking about things that you can evaluate by looking at evidence and using critical thinking. It is a logical fallicy to say that because some people from opposite ends of the political spectrum say certain things, the truth must be somewhere in-between. When claims are made on this blog, there are generally links attached directing you to evidence. If you wish to make a determination regarding the value of that evidence, go ahead. But it is beyond intellectually lazy to say that both "extremes" of the political spectrum (as if Olbermann has been "extreme" about anything) must be wrong, and the truth must lie between their positions.
Short version: look at the verifiable facts and dust off your underemployed brain.
There are demonstrable truths that you are ignoring.
If you still don't understand me, Zoop, answer this: what is Olbermann lying about (as you alledged in your comment)? Now tink about your answer in the context of your assinine "both sides are too extreme" comment. Notice how some people are telling the truth, and others are making ridiculous fabrications?
Use your freaking brains.
CD @ 32:
you dont know shit.http://infowars.net/articles/november2007/301107Fundraiser.htm
milquetoast @ 35:
Are you really citing info wars?
CD @ 36:
infowars or not...his campain aint no joke thats fer sure!
CD @ 32:
Yea he doesn't have all the $$$ like the astronomical dickheads he's up against. Got that. Your point? Who do you support?
milquetoast @ 37:
The very fact that you would cite Alex Jones tells me more than enough about what any attempt to reason with you would be like.
Wow. KO is getting really good at impressions.
And I love the line about Pat Robertson's moronic comment condemning yoga as potentially evil: "That's not evil. That's just a different model of the same product you're selling"
CD @ 36:
and since you dont like infowars, here is a one minute video showing CNN's online poll results of the repiglickin debate
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ohq1GlaSVYk&eurl=http://www.truthnews.us/...
Ron Paul is a big reality.
milquetoast @ 40:
He's a joke.
scream and rant about him till you're blue in the face.
He still won't get more than 9% of the primary votes.
Of course yoga is evil. You can attain transcendental peace of mind without thumping your Bible even once. What could be more evil than that? (Perhaps shopping at Wal-Mart or voting Republican.)
Poor Pat Robertson, you suppose he's regretting his endorsement of Ghouliani yet? Especially since the story of Rudy and the Booty is getting more media attention.
Ron Paul isn't a joke, but he definitely doesn't have a shot at winning. He is there to put some unique thought into Republican debates. I remember he stated he wanted to get rid of the IRS months ago and just yesterday Mike Huckabee said he wanted to do the same. He also stated abortion should be left up to the states, which many candidates copied during the debate. Now I just wish other candidates will copy his plan in the Middle East. The fact that people cheer for him at Republican debates shows that the right wing isn't a homogeneous group of idiots. He is to
CD @ 42:
Without the money its next to impossible for a grassroots candidate like him to get ahead in the race with how flawed and corrupt the current political structure is and the spin of corporate media control that keeps the system running its course. That's what the joke is.
Once again who do you support?
Old Billy,
I hope you saw the interview Keith did with Naomi Klein, author of "The Shock Doctrine." There's also a great short film on naomiklein (d0t) org. There are leftist extremists, and they are equally dangerous to our freedom. Keith Olbermann and fans are not of the "extremist" variety in any sense.
Chris H. @ 44:
Don't get me wrong.
I love the way Ron Paul drives the GOP nuts.
Besides he is a congressman and does represent about 5% of the voting population.
Just in Time for The War on Christmas: bluestatements.com
The perfect gift for any right wing moron.
O'Reilly must have some record somewhere for most inane sayings ever quoted.
Zoop @ 19:
Reality bites, doesn't it? You can't play "he-said/she-said" with reality - it just is.
And don't play the holier-than-thou card. With the right-wing, its more like "I'm right...uh, I mean centrist... and everyone else is far-left".
I've been saying Happy Holidays to everyone I meet and they say the same thing back. I have gotten 4 cards already and they all say Happy Holidays. My cards say that also. To me the holidays are Thanksgiving thru New Years. To me Christmas is a secular holiday since I'm an atheist. Jesus was Jewish but never a Christian.
So I wonder what the repercussions will be from KO insulting one of our American mullahs (Robertson).
vickif @ 51:
Jesus was both a Christian and a Jew.
Billo loves "culture war" Soma to distract his elderly viewers from his 8 figure salary while they struggle to keep the lights on in their homes
CD @ 47:
5% ?
Someone needs a civic lesson.
Joe for Unity08 @ 55:
Let me guess you think than Ron Paul has 95% of the voting populations vote right?
"I'm just defending the baby Jesus" _Billo Reilly
Quite a noble undertaking.
CD @ 56:
There's over 400 reps on capitol hill. (435 if I remember right) If Paul is representing 5% of America with that many congressmen, we need some new district mapping enginneers wouldn't you say? Perhaps ones who've passed 4th grade math.
Finally, McCain receives recognition and this well-deserved honor, which assures that he will not disappear into the vast void of history, unremarked.
With comedians like BillO, who needs the writers? :-)
First, it is okay for Christians to practice yoga.
It is not okay for Pat Robertson to practice Christianity.
McCain forgot the first rule of debate: He who invokes the Nazis/Hitler first, loses.
I'm glad Keith Olberman is out there but I don't like to watch him. He's too intense.
As for Christmas decorations and Christmas music. I hate it all. Can't wait till we're past the gluttonism and consumerism season. As the saying goes, What would Jesus buy?
Bill O, such a good Christian man. That pretty much sums it up.
This worst person is ridiculuos.....real schtick....
janefromhell @ 46:
Thanks! I hadn't seen it, and I really appreciate you pointing me to it. Here's the link if anyone else would like to see it. I'm going to get the book.
http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/20141-naomi-klein-keith-olbermann-explain-...
My first comment on this thread was how BillO is a douche.
Now you all see that Zoop, as well, is a douche.
Joe for Unity08 @ 58:
Oh I get it you think that everyone supports Ron Paul.
