McCain can do no wrong in the beltway bumpkins eyes

WashStateBlue's picture

Over at MyDD and Kos, Hillary supporters are posting numbers with her
only losing by 2 points. And, Immediately, they do a disclaimer.

Also, some early exit polls show Edwards below 20%

Hope not, I think he needs to stay in, and his money would really
tank if he got walloped like that. He needs 26% or so.....

My only prediction, if Hillary loses by over 15, Bill fires that clown
Penn!

Yeah, because he's the last man standing. Okay the last man propped up, but still. He's all they have left and by god, he's their man.

Remember they wanted nothing to do with him just a few months ago. However now, next to the rest of the repubs, hell, he looks good to them.

Bill needs to fire himself if he wants to help her.

Personally, I loathe Romney, that's why I'm praying (wink) he

Cause, McCain would be much more formidable in the general.

If you need a little comedy diversion, or maybe looking for a drinking game tonight, take a look at two very dumb campaign supporters interviewed on Democracy Now today, one for McCain, one for Ron Paul.

If you want a bit drunk, shots for every "I don't know" will do the job.
If you prefer hammered, drinks for every "you know".

It's just three minutes, so keep the pause button handy.

I'm just having fun watching the MSNBC coverage. Mathews keeps cutting in with his usual inane, goofy comments and Olberman keeps sneaking glances at him as if to say, "I can't believe you act this way on national television..." Mathews is amusing to watch because he so clearly can't control his compulsion to blurt out whatever thought pops into his mind no matter how badly timed or completely silly it is. While Olberman is generally engaging guest commentators in relatively meaningful conversation, Mathews just keeps breaking in and talking over them. He's like the guy who shows up at a party uninvited and then just goes around the room breaking into conversations with really dumb comments until everyone gets angry enough that they just start to humour him until he shuts up and, hopefully, finally goes away.

John McCain is a total loser. Claims this surge was his idea. The extra troops didn't do jack. Its the $10 a day we're paying Sunnis insurgents not to attack our troops. So basically we're are supporting terrorists now in Iraq. These stupid republicans don't care that they are buying arms with this half billion we are giving the insurgents. Its gonna be a bloodbath when we leave and they will blame the democrats. Personally I could care less what happens in Iraq. Shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Am watching the MSNBC live stream--no mention of delegates. In Iowa the Dems split them 3 ways--I think it was 31 Obama, 30 Clinton, and 29 Edwards. What is the split in NH? The nomination is decided by delegate votes not primary votes. So, what is the real score?

As an aside, I think it was Huckabee 33 and Romney 7 in Iowa, and then Romney won Wyoming, with a few votes to Thompson. What is the delegate count after NH?

Check out his CURRENT newsletters, they are wacky enough.

On stem cells: "If Congress attempts to override the President’s veto, I will support the President."

On racism: "It’s disconcerting to see third parties become involved and presume to speak collectively for minority groups."

Wait. There are minority groups? I thought that was just a collectivist mindset?

"It is precisely this collectivist mindset that is at the heart of racism. It’s also disconcerting to hear the subtle or not-so-subtle threats against free speech. Since the FCC regulates airwaves and grants broadcast licenses, we’re told it’s proper for government to forbid certain kinds of insulting or offensive speech in the name of racial and social tolerance."

That's correct. You have no right to hate speech. I guess Ron Paul missed out on the Nazis -- oh wait -- they support his candidacy and he gladly accepts their money.

"Never mind the 1st Amendment, which states unequivocally that, “Congress shall make NO law.”

Yes, and the 2/5 rule can just be ignored as a bad idea, right?

http://www.house.gov/paul/legis_tst.htm

Twice last year L Ron Paul tried to establish personhood at conception, by Congressional lawmaking. Doesn't he think the Congress shouldn't try to federalize such ideas? Of course, that's what he says. But then he tries to anyhow, because he's A LIAR.

Be proud and excited for any Democrat who does well in any of these primaries. We are turning out in record numbers, we are out raising the republicans for the first time in decades, and we are all getting the message out that the true change thats happening in America is the absolute repudiation of republicanism!! Stand proud Democrats. Support who you want but in the end support the nominee for the general with your head held high. Whomever he or she is. Support someone not because of your dislike for another. I personally want a Clinton/Obama ticket no matter who is on top. I want those who wouldnt vote for a black man or a woman finally to come out from their racist, sexist shadows where we can see them in broad daylight, and exactly for what they are. I am so proud to be a Democrat these days. Now is the time for this change. Fired up!!! Ready to go!!! As far as Hillary is concerned, I still cant figure out why people dislike her except that weve been told to do so for the past 15 years by the repugs and the media. Thats not good enough. Socialized medicine? I like it just like I like my socialized police or fire departments. Calculating? Good!! She'll need to be to counter all the lies and crap the traitorous repugs are going to sling. Doesnt connect with people? Arent we done yet trying to have a beer with our president? As far as Obama is concerned, love him. Great speaker, great Democrat, great leader. I would be equally proud to vote for him in the general. As I would for Edwards, Kucinich, Dodd, or anyone who IS NOT A LYING, THIEVING, TRAITOROUS, AMERICA HATING repuglican!!! Good Night my brothers and sisters democrat. I am proud of you.

PMRC, Patriot Act, Iraq War vote, war funding votes, border fence funding, Real ID funding, declaring Iran's army a terrorist organization, confirmation of Tom Ridge, Michael Chertoff, John Negroponte...I can keep going if you want.

We also saw NAFTA and the Telecommunications Act under her husband's loving watch. Lord knows what else the Clinton dynasty would love to sink their fangs into.

Weird. From where I was sitting, it looked like the Clinton campaign was self-destructing, but it looks like she pulled it out. Still, given her comments about MLK and LBJ, this may yet prove to be a Pyrrhic victory.

well, at least ron paul will be forgotten after his newsletters were released today (if it turns out to be the same ron paul...pretty mean stuff in there)

As supporter of Dr. Paul I will attempt to ascertain the truth before coming to any conclusion's.

But I do agree that if Ron allowed these to be published under his name, I would be dissappointed.

I know he took responsibility, and fired the person involved.

But my support is issue based.

Sorry I don't want my country raping other countries.

hindering our health freedom, or spying on us illegally and getting away with it.

Nor do I want my saving's destroyed by Central Bank inflation.

Apparently, Diebold preferred Hillary over Obama : http://presscue.com/node/38034

Now I'm thinking that the Iowa thing was distorted by too much politicking and media. The NH results look a lot more like what everybody was expecting.

McCain will be the Iron Triangle's dummy of choice. They have to convert the Huckabee vote over to him though, and that might be easier said than done.

Clinton and Obama. NH is generally regarded as a very progressive state, yet Clinton won.

Well, the two top candidates are a woman and a black man. Anyway you shake it, we have come along way, and no matter which of those candidates you prefer, each of them has played important roles in breaking down political boundaries in our country.

NH was always considered to be the Clinton's campaign "firewall", so for Obama to essentially tie there is impressive. (Note that they got the same number of delegates.) The media got overexcited by a few polls, but a few weeks ago he was down in double digits. It is going to be an exciting race!

I like most of the Democrats, although Dennis K. is my fav. Any one of them would be the FAR lessor of two evils come General Election time. I do suspect some election shenanigans in N.H. and I worry that said BS will carry on in the General election to hurt the Democratic nominee. Sadly I wonder if there have been back-room deals and the whole thing is already over. Still, I will suck up my somewhat justified paranoia and cheer for Clinton, Edwards, Barack, or whoever wins the Democratic nomination. And even a Repuke would be better than what we have now, with the possible exception of Rudy One-Note.
