How the Right explains the Left's online dominance
By Steve Benen Monday Feb 11, 2008 7:33pmThe last I heard, the right was feeling quite pleased with itself because there was some evidence to suggest the traffic for the top liberal blogs was trending down, while the traffic for the top conservative blogs was trending up. This item, relying on SiteMeter data from the end of December, argued, “It has long been understood that the largest liberal blogs have generally produced more web traffic than the largest conservative blogs.... After surveying the traffic stats of many major political blogs, I found that web traffic for several major liberal blogs either declined sharply or stayed the same while major conservative blogs saw a sharp increase in traffic.”
Now, apparently, the right is prepared to argue the opposite — liberal blogs are more popular — but with a rationalization to explain the phenomenon.
Erick Erickson, editor of the popular conservative megablog RedState, conceded that progressives currently enjoy an advantage over conservatives online — though he attributed it to an asymmetry in free time, since conservatives “have families because we don’t abort our kids, and we have jobs because we believe in capitalism.”
I’m not quite sure how best to respond to something like this — it’s unusually unhinged, even by the standards of the far-right blogosphere — though I think Matt Stoller is on the right track by relying on simple mockery: “Now, being a doctor who performs abortions is in fact a job, so one might find conflicting narratives in Erick’s quote. And if the way to use the internet well politically is to up the number of abortions, then the GOP is kind of fu**ed.”

I am a Left wing blogger.
A lot of Left wing bloggers have jobs, even though we're anti-capitalists, because we believe in the thing called "eating."
Of course, some of us have jobs fighting the right wing and defending the Constitution. Hee.
Also, I have three children and not that it's any of your business, no abortions. I've never actually been inside an abortion clinic, unlike a great many rightwing evangelicals in my community, who take their daughters in to have their "mistake" taken care of, because as parents they could never bring themselves to discuss contraception with their teenagers.
I often wonder what driving home with your teenaged daughter, from the abortion clinic, with a W sticker on your car, feels like.
Get over yourself, Redstate.
Maybe those on the right know what they say on the web won't wind them up in the new and improved Nazi concentration camps?
Erick Erickson, editor of the popular conservative megablog RedState, conceded that progressives currently enjoy an advantage over conservatives online — though he attributed it to an asymmetry in free time, since conservatives “have families because we don’t abort our kids, and we have jobs because we believe in capitalism.”
If one is this delusional perhaps politics is not in their best interest to spend time on.
NOW THAT SOME OF RIGHT-WINGERS HAVE LIFTED THEIR KNUCKLES OFF THE GROUND AND PUT THEM ON THE KEYBOARD... YEEHAH!!!

O!o!o!o I'M A REPUBLICAN... IF ONLY I COULD WALK UPRIGHT
What's that? I wasn't paying attention. I was too busy listening to six hours of AM radio hate every day.
Right wing conservatives much prefer the world they live in to the one the rest of us call home.
Also, I wonder if they consider it genuine traffic when a lot of us liberal bloggers are linking to them while making fun of their wingnut stories?
Didn't a prominent right-winger once argue that abortions help the conservative cause, because they are more prevalent among poor people, minorities and others who would vote Democratic if they were allowed to live and grow to voting age? I guess they can argue and spin just about anything. My reaction to this latest right-wing rationalization for the popularity of liberal blogs is laughter and even pity, rather than outrage.
It would be a bit difficult to define how mein weblog (q.v.) would be defined politically.
But suffice it to say that it's my blog, and I'll blog as I like....
This sort of irrationality prominent on the right wing has been downright getting more insane by the day.
Really, I dare say these people are severely mentally ill. They need to construct an entire universe where they are at war with everything. I remember being like this when I was 7 years old or so.
Republicans don't spend much time online because caves aren't equipped with wifi yet.
"... conservatives “have families because we don’t abort our kids, and we have jobs because we believe in capitalism.”
Oh what a tangle "W"eb we "W"eave,
when first liberal leadership we concede ...
Snerd
70% disapproval, what'sthat tell ya? All I have to say is,yeah..sure.
"conservatives “have families because we don’t abort our kids, and we have jobs because we believe in capitalism.”
It's not a matter of do you have a job. It's how long will we live in a 2 tiered economic system of lazy, privileged investors/executives and poor, exploited workers?
Screw it. I'm jumping on their bandwagon. Here's a summary of my first right-wing blog entries:

Asshole. What an asshole. Erick Erickson, douchebag extraordinaire
I have two jobs... one I work 50-60 hours a week at to make money, and the other where I work as much as I can to fight right-wing assholes and promote progressive values.
I'm more than happy to do that one for free.
Big Dick Dick: O!o!o!o I’M A REPUBLICAN… IF ONLY I COULD WALK UPRIGHT
Yes ... Too bad being 'Up right' isn't a value of the valuez guyz.

well, they have been bitching about McCain alot lately.
ok...if the wingnuts have so little time for mundane things like blogging, how do they explain the dominance of right wing radio and faux news?
erick remains an asshat
but be afraid, cuz the wingnuts are making inroads into the nets
take a look at their youtube channel

I believe this is called "grasping at straws."
uncle joe mccarthy @ 20:
hmmmmm?
policies?
who cares, we still need to take down the neocons in November!
stay focused!
One need only read one day's worth of posts on any wingnut blog to realize that these people have far too much time on their hands and no one with whom to conceive a child. My impression of every right winger on a blog has always been that no one on earth pays any attention to them, except when they have access to the internet.
As far as jobs, selling their junk on Ebay neither counts as one, nor does it keep them all that busy.
Yeah, mockery about cuts it. To wit, here are some reasons I can think of to explain the lower volume of traffic on conservative sites:
1. Having snubbed public education as socialist, and higher education as elitist, conservatives are less likely to be able to read a blog at all.
2. The internet is a genuinely free market. (You know, a free market. That metaphysical entity conservatives are quick to cite and laud without really knowing what they're talking about.) It offers an infinite array of choices not merely for consuming information, but for participating in dissemination and punditry. It contrasts with television and radio, which are largely controlled by corporate execs and advertising dollars, and spewed at zombies whose only alternative course of action is to change the channel to the other news stations spewing the same stuff. And guess what? In a genuinely free market, it turns out that there is considerably less demand for lies, hatred and vitriol than the conservative bloggers think.
3. Conservative bloggers keep saying silly things like, conservatives just don't have the time to blog because we "have families because we don’t abort our kids, and we have jobs because we believe in capitalism." And the conservatives who are intelligent and can read when they should at least feign embarrassment.
I don't know if you've observed this but a right wing blog is very maintenance intensive. Constant sanitation of any post that differs from the party line is required. It seems to be too much like work. Talk radio is more their speed. It is much easier to cut the mike of anyone you don't want to hear.
I don't know why people refer to blogs like Red State as Conservative. There is absolutely nothing conservative about them. They are right wing blogs. Actual conservatives laugh at them too. These are merely the people who clean the toilets of the actual conservatives and get the chance to feel as though they are part of the club.
I'm thinking that the issue centers more on the ability to read. If one cannot read they cannot read neo-con blogs.
Who is Barack Obama?
Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born
in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM
from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHEIST from
Wichita, Kansas.
Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two
years old, his parents divorced. Hi s father returned to Kenya. His
mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.?
When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocate to Indonesia. Obama
attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a
Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is
quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also
attended Catholic school."
Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that
that he is not a radical.
Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this
influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned
to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct
influence over his son's education.
Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham,
introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school
in Jakarta.
Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim
terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since
it is politically expedient to be a CH RISTIAN when seeking major
public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined
the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim
background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he
DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.
Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor
will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands
over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential
candidacy.
The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside
out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the
President of the United States, one of their own!!!!
Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leading
our country?...... NOT ME!!!
there numbers are dwindling....it's a core group of maniacs.Don't believe me?look for yourself.
bluegal @ 1:
So true, so true.
Does he realize that even communists work?
Cause even if you're not a capitalist, you still have to get shit done. The difference is you might not suffer day to day just to make ends meet, but rather work to fulfill yourself and goals in society.
(What a fucking concept right?)
don @ 29:
OK! who left the lid off the loony bin?
"ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he
DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran. "
Sweety, you mixed up your brown people again.
I'm sorry mudshark. I knocked it over, accidentally. I'll fix it.
that guy don has some serious issues.Perhaps some medical care is required?
Fanon @ 34:
Thank You,thank you thank you thank you.
Well, I particularly like that he cut and pasted it in the form of an email chain letter. "Please forward to everyone you know". Why? Will Bill Gates send me a dollar?
What is it with them? Or is it the chicken or the egg question? You're stupid therefore you are a republican, or you're a republican because you are stupid. Which came first? All I know is the incredible amount of retarded statements, extreme cruelty, and total lack of morals expressed by the republicans has firmly set my mind against 30% of the population. I have seen too much these past 7 years of their corruption, lies, and stupidity to last me a lifetime.
I've known three pro-life Republican families that have had abortions. Either their kids got pregnant, or their kids got somebody pregnant. Count on hypocrisy for any social issue the Republicans take a stand on. They should stick to fiscal issues, from which they have fallen mightily.
Impeach cheney and bush @ 38:
#32 is a classic example.
"Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham,
introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school
in Jakarta."
Is there are Jakarta, Saudi Arabia and I just haven't heard of it before?
I wish these people would get there SPAM in order, it is a madrassa, not a Wahabi school.
It made me hungry for those Wahabi peas, however.
Ha! Someone posted that Obama chain letter to a thread that highlights how crazy right-wingers look when they talk about politics on the internet? That's just fucking classic!
My bad. I went to a number of right-wing sites when I couldn't get Colbert Report at C&L. And sometimes used freeper land for a my "fix" (^_^)
But this statement was interesting:
And though liberal blogs showed a sharp decline in web visits during 2007, this isn’t to say that their overall visits didn’t increase compared to 2006 — it’s hard to say, since Site Meter only tracks the previous 13 months.
I see that site meter does provide previous year's traffic records for the last six years and moving average charts, a number of other stats.
ashton @ 41:
I was leaning too some sashimi with wasabi and ginger.
mudshark @ 44:
maybe SPAM and wasabi peas?? Ha. I also love wasabi garlic mashed potatoes. If you've never had them, do yourself a favor.
Spam? are we talkin an Hawaiian breakfast?
You think they could get a new tune . . . Limbaugh said this a decade ago too.
BUT CONSERVATIVES ALSO BELIEVE THAT:
1. Jobs should be outsourced to India and China, leaving unemployed hillbillies much more time to surf RedState.
2. Unemployment benefits should be minimized in size and duration, leaving those hillbillies with many more months to surf RedState, at least until they can't pay their internet service.
3. Women should be out of the workforce, barefoot, and pregnant, giving them oodles of time to visit RedState as well as surf message boards for venison recipes.
4. White House staffers should illegally conduct all their official business via RNC e-mail and servers, rather than government versions of same, boosting (right-wing) RNC traffic.
So in the end, it should all balance out.
mudshark @ 46:
Ok, Hawaiin breakfast, but I don't think I like poy. Is that how you spell it?
Fanon @ 49:
close....but i gotcha.
poi's pretty good,if you ike mud.OH Wait!
"I’m not quite sure how best to respond to something like this — ", How 'bout a simple F*#k You? It's really the same level of discourse if you think about it.
Blackberry@#52.
yep......that pretty much sums it up.
mudshark @ 51:
Are you being fresh with me? ;)
I certainly cannot speak for all conservative blogs, but many restrict postings by screening out individuals who would post an opinion that is contrary to the group think. Liberal blogs generally allow for anyone to post no matter how outrageous and only screen the vile, obscene or violent.
I would say that one can only read so much negativity at any one time before it starts affecting one negatively. At the core, People need optimism and above all they need truth. The Right Wing bogs (sic) do not seem to provide much truth, IMHO.
I think the answer is simpler:
Liberal blogs get more traffic than Redstate.org because we can read.
iludiumphosdex @ 8:
or, it's my party and i'll blog if i want to...
seriously, are they actually not even considering the obvious...lefties are computer literate, righties are computer illiterate?
ok, take out the word "computer" and you'll have my real opinion...
"Erick Erickson"? Seriously? I would be a bitter angry conservative too if my momma name gave me that name.
Ruthless People @ 59:
...Ron Ronaldson, Don Donaldson, Wilke Wilkerson, Randall Randallman, all the imagination you'd think from the parent of a conservative.
Maybe the right can't get the internet in there bunkers or undisclosed locations.
That's such a sad argument. Ask him for some empirical evidence. Sic Carl Sagan's Baloney Detection Kit on him. He won't last long.
Ruthless People @ 60:
Oh I don't know, it has a touch of Viking machismo to it.
Aww crap, is every one of these posts due to an abortion? Geez, C&L, put a jimmy hat on that thing and get back to work!
Republicans spend less time on the net because they're too busy molesting children and hanging around public restroom stalls--See? We can play your stupid game too.
Fanon @ 54:
I dunno.....ask me in the morning
Who is don @ 29:?
Someone who probably believes the earth is 6000 years old and that an old white guy in a robe lives in the sky that will punish with eternal damnation anyone who questions his infinite love.
But seriously, there is one item in that spam that is correct, terrorists are working to bring down America from within,
**looks meaningfully at the WhiteHouse, Justice Dept., and an increasingly shameful Congress**
And it looks like they're doing well.
Filthy Harry @ 67:
But he uses BLOCK LETTERS, which are VERY CONVINCING.
How the Right explains the Left’s online dominance:
"It's not fair! They know stuff!"
The truth is more progressives live in houses and the cable companies find it easier to install cables in them than the rocks that most reichwing conservatives crawl under.
It's simple folks.
There's no wi-fi in churches, lest there be video evidence of molestation.
Hard to get on the internet when you're diddling an altar boy.
Kids? All the Republicans I know are single, closeted homosexuals.
Fanon @ 45:
Yum!!!
I am so going to make wasabi garlic mashed potatoes the next time I make mashed potatoes! Thanks for the tip!
"Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim
terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world."
...and also selling the west oil
Oh, excuse me. I can account for that drop in liberal blog traffic. It has to do with the corresponding increase in sexist smearing of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Any further questions?
Nothing to see here move along, just another wing-nut train wreck is all.
Try this on for size, right wing pundits. The left is dominant on the internet because we are first, literate, and secondly, computer literate. We have a tendency to explore ideas and form our own opinions, whereas the right wing tends to be comfortable having their ideas spoon-fed to them by the wholly-owned mainstream media. A talking point originates at Faux Noise, and soon every media outlet in America ,save Air America, will be using the exact same quote non-stop for days on end.
We are not lemmings. We are not programmable. We are diverse in many ways. We are united in a major way, we love the America we remember. We are dedicated to righting the path of America to the way we remember when it was proud, just and honorable.
You expect that we will tire of the uphill battle to restore America if you just keep on pounding. You are wrong!
You expect us to retire from the fray as you keep our economy so screwed up that many of us at retirement age are holding down two jobs to make ends meet. You are wrong!
You are wrong, because many of us remember the once great advantages offered us and are dedicated to the prospect of restoring these great advantages to our children and grandchildren. Once again you are wrong!
The more obstacles you throw at us, the more the American heritage of the "indominatible spirit" that created the great Nation in the beginning comes raging from the pit of complacency that has overcome us in our comfort of past years.
I challenge you fear-mongers with hidden agendas with this.....Al Queda did not destoy this nation. Al Queda WILL NOT destroy this nation. Neither will you be allowed to.
Neither will any entity that preys upon the fears of the disenfranchised.
We have reached a point where we will rise to any challenge placed before us.
The Right wing madhouse that drives fear before logic has run it's course.
We have trusted you to act in our best interest. You have failed at a level that would mystify God in it's complete and utter lack of lucid or demonstrable competence.
We are at a point where WE are prepared to act in our best interest.
Beware of us. We are tired of your do nothing stances.
We are tired of your attempts to make us quake in fear.
We are tired of our voices not being heard.
We are tired of our Candidates being selected by the power elite instead of the people.
Beware of us for this reason. We, regardless of Party, are tired of the journey this Administration has taken us on.
We are tired of the "Opposition Party" offering NO opposition, and in fact "enabling" the party they were elected to stand up to.
First and foremost beware of us for this reason: We are Americans, many of us have fought in past wars for this great nation. We remember what America stands for. You apparently do not. We appreciated the respect the world bestowed upon America, because at that time it had been earned, and at a very high price I might point out.
Your decision to subvert the traditions of this country, and "appoint" a President has proven to be as much of a mistake as it was a criminal endeavor.
When the Supreme Court foists the largest Crime of our entire history upon us, where do we go?
If there is no other option available to us, we WILL "take it to the streets".
I have spoken with many veterans of this Graet country's wars. Veterans of as recent action as our current wear in Iraq.
We remember our oath, "To defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic."
It is the exact same oath the President and members of both Houses take, "To defend the Consitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic."
By attempting to circumvent or dismantle the Constitution, you have failed to keep that oath.
You BECOME that "Domestic Enemy".
You trained us to engage the enemy.
You trained us to give no quarter.
You trained us to allow nothing to divert us from our mission.
Our mission is to defend the Constitution.
Do you really want to push us any further?
The ball is in your court.
Are you going to play?
We are right at the point of "Not playing anymore"
Step up to the foul line. (Although it is we the people who have been fouled, we can afford ONE more free shot)
One more free shot.
Make it count!
I would think it would be quite boring in the RW blogasphere...after 100 of your like minded friends quote the same RW talking points and say a few RW slurs about liberals/progressives and the Democrat (sic) party...there is not much more to say...no critical insight, no debate, no disagreement...how can that be fun.
I will bet a lot of conservatives come over to the progressive blogs to have fun just the way they like to engage in lewd sex acts to combat their regressive sexual social requirements in their public life...I mean they want to have fun as well...How can you have fun spouting the same RW talking points all day and having the same 20 people say...oh yea I agree with that...those damn liberals just don't get it
Well, we certainly have no kids, but there's also been no abortions in our house either..
We both also work at like jobs and stuff making pretty good dough.
I'd say that the reason that the intertubes and blogs may seem to favor more "liberal" ideas to folks like that is because most people in fact tend to have opinions that this type of person considers "liberal".
Crazy things like opposing a criminal president, the Constitution, Free Speech, etc...
Erick Erickson is an aborted abortion.
And here all this time I thought this disparity was because crazy-ass right-wingers have a hard time farting, chewing gum and typing at the same time.
Besides, one can usually spot a crazy-ass right-winger's post because of the relatively high level of illiteracy and sophomoric arguments on display.
This must be one of the tenets of bushism i.e try to spin the unspinnable I mean who makes more sense a rightwing loony or a liberal blog I'll go to a liberal or even left leaning site over a rambling hate filled site any day I learn something here
StirFry @ 80:
no he's a poster boy for an abortion clinic
unsurebtwilling @ 83:
heheh yep.
So how would he explain the former popularity of conservative sites? All those right wingers were unemployed and without families 4 years ago?
Well, its a lot better than being the offspring of incest like most Right Wingers.
they may have families, but they likely spend their free "reading" time with mistresses or hanging out in airport restrooms.
pettyevil @ 87:
Hey, I read in airport restrooms! Write, too(sharpies work best). Mostly stuff like 'for a good time, call Larry at 202-224-2752 or 208-342-7985'. I'm not a wrongwinger.
"Last word, freak." - Melvin Udall
out
PLEEEESE, Jonah Goldberg's SITE is FAR WORSE! I'd tell Erick to keep his GOP Party AWAY from the KIDS because they have Mark Foely fingers, Larry Craig's feet and Rove the pink doe boy! These cretins also spend WAY too much time bashing poor people who just happen to be DROWNING in New Orleans. Shut your PIE HOLE ERICK! And please, don't come back!
red state is seeing an increase in hits simply because people are going there by mistake looking for clips of Jackie Broyles and Dunlap.
I'd bet money on it.
Only liberals take the time to discuss and be informed by the magical miracle box known as 'the Internets.' Conservatives are just too busy. Who has time to use a computer at a job? What kind of family house hold has a Dell? I'll tell you what kind. A fake one.
Serious question here:
If I read that right, the top liberal blogs have been declining slightly or staying the same. I am thinking that it may be that the proliferation of leftie blogs has simply spread out the traffic. I have only been on the net about 18 months, but it seems to me that the lists of affiliates and links are growing exponentially.
Of course, it could be that the blogosphere is simply opening up for me more - given my relative inexperience.
So which is it folks?
uncle joe mccarthy @ 19:
Wait a minute and let's think about this. In order to blog and respond, that requires the ability to construct coherent sentences. It takes very little brain power to listen to RW Hate Radio.
Advantage: Liberals and Progressives
UnEasyOne @ 93:
UnEasyOne @ 95:
DUH! If I had followed the links in the post I could have answered my own question with a definite maybe.
It is the theory I subscribe to, at any rate.
Former Republican @ 77:
I'm callin this, "The Declaration of Independent Thought"
Right On, Brother/Sister!
I have another explanation. We do not have the powerhouse media outlets of Rush, Ingraham, Hannity, Fox, etc etc etc so we come online. Also, we all know how to use computers and don't consider them to be "the Devil's Box". Lastly, we as progressives spend all of our online time doing something besides hanging out on porn sites (perhaps "alternative" porn sites for the likes of Larry Craig and Ted Haggart?)
I mean being an out of work moron who helps as many women get abortions as possible while at all times dissing the notion of family does take up a lot of my day, but I always manage to check my blogs.
Well, the Right panders to the notion of morals, while All the "working girls" know they get the most trade when the Republicans are in town to cock us (pronounced "caucus").
They talk a good game, but I'm pretty sure that families that are too busy working, are the ones with kids getting knocked up. And families where they leave the talk of sex to the "just say no" abstinence classes -- well, it always comes as a surprise to them when their kids get knocked up.
Liberals are perhaps too cynical, we figure since everyone is here from someone who reproduced, and people still get their groove on in countries where they stone you if you get caught -- well, we try and get our kids to use birth control.
Did anyone see the study where church goers are more likely to get divorce? But, far be it for these people to change behavior based upon results.
Ah, Red State; the blog that proclaims itself to be free, but banned Ron Paul supporters from posting anything about him there?
This line said it best
Hey, at least Red State is being honest.
As many links as we get to conservative sites on comments, that probably accounts for what numbers they do get.
HA HA HA HA HA! Is that the best they can do?
I guess that an appropriate response would be to point out that maybe the reason that Liberal blogs are popular is because unlike neocons, Liberals can actually read and write. We live in the reality-based world, so we actually care about what's going on and we talk about it; we don't get our information from Faux News and our talking points from the GOP - we actually think about things instead of just regurgitating what others feed us. Because we use contraception and family planning, we don't have a bunch of unplanned, unwanted children running around that we have to care for and support.
You'd think that the "leisure class" who, like the parasites they are, live off of the labor of others would have plenty of time to write and read blogs.
The reich can't get past their one-handed net-porn surfing.
Yeah they're full of shit. Why don't they just admit that they're too stupid to use the computer.
'The Right' does explain 'The Left's' online dominance, because 'The Left' is 'Right'.
And online folks are smarter than those CrazyChristianFundamentalistEvangelicalRapturist idiots who still communicate with drums.
Wow! I am a liberal blogger who has TWO JOBS so I can have kids/my own home/retirement one day. Lazy, lazy me.
“Now, being a doctor who performs abortions is in fact a job, so one might find conflicting narratives in Erick’s quote. And if the way to use the internet well politically is to up the number of abortions, then the GOP is kind of fu**ed.”
One of the best comebacks I've yet to hear!
Matt, you've delivered a conundrum of the highest order. There can be no reasonable response from Erick that wouldn't make him sound more insane and partisan than he already is...
ysbaddaden @ 103:
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k172/ciubi/f/funny0118.jpg
I do know how to best respond to this...with gales of laughter.
ROFLMAO
Oh, I don't know...maybe it's because "liberals" or those on the left are more literate and tend to write legible, coherent posts rather than text-message-style rants with lots of exclamation points to make up for lack of content. God knows it takes too much time away from NASCAR and Fox Noos to sit at the computer and peck out one painful, brain-racking letter at a time.
Well, I have to say this Erik guy is a real douche. I proud myself on being a paleoconservative, thus I don't take much interest into neocon blogs. The issue is, most people use the same definition for neoconservatism as they would do for general conservatism. Therefore, this moron hurts the general conservative cause.
Why have we been cursed with neocons. :(
