Go Huckaberry!
The first 90 seconds of this Youtube worth a click.... and a revealing comment from Huckabee, quoted in The Hill:
“Republicans are not going to be elected because they carried Delaware, Connecticut, New York and California,” Huckabee said, referring to some of the states McCain has won.
That's okay Mike, I think Howard Dean will be happy to have those 95 electoral votes, thanks.

That is some seriously funny stuff. More than the 90sec~
He's absolutely right. Republicans traditionally get elected by stealing votes in Florida and Ohio.
As if that weren't enough, racists and white supremacists on both ends of the proverbial candle (so to speak) are no doubt paranoid about recent primary and caucus wins for Barack Obama on the Democrats' side.
So paranoid, methinks, that the prospect of violence marring Indecision 2008 could be all the more clear and present. Even with "the Fourteen Words" as a defence that the jury will quickly see through.
Heh heh, I love that Prime Minister Poutine bit. For more on Poutine see here,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine
I'm trying to figure out why the fried squirrel chef is staying in the race. Does he think McCain is in bad health and won't make it the end?
Rick Mercer for Prime Minister
In fairness to Governor Huckabuck, I think he was just being realistic that Republicans simply cannot win those states this year. I don't think he's saying that he wouldn't want it.
When Mike Huckabee speaks...I don't listen.
And he's tough to watch too...all that glare coming from his halo.
thanks ameriKKKa for being the stupidest nation on earth
I'm always curious what their hit rate on these things is: 20% stupid people, 50% . . 100%???
Hello media?? Did you know that Ron Paul is still running??!! He's better than McCain and Huckabee combined! Not to mention, he's the only Republican who stands a chance against Obama or Clinton.
due to the exchange rate , my laugh here, is just a chuckle in Canada , sorry.
See what your politicians started!!! This is one of the reasons I care about American politics and the outcomes of your elections. EVERYTHING your government does, everybody follows. This is what happens. Big Brother doesn't just wanna watch ya on these "tubes".
"According to a leaked document acquired by The Times, legislation is being drafted that would require ISPs to monitor all traffic and report on those who are downloading pirated media files.
The proposed law would thrust ISPs into the role of net-police, requiring them to institute a "three-strikes-you're-out" policy whereby users found to be downloading pirated material would be given successively sterner warnings, resulting finally in an outright ban on internet access if they were caught a third time.
The draft has already raised deep concerns amongst the consumer privacy groups as well as with the country's ISPs.
In order to comply with the law's current wording, ISPs would have to inspect each packet of data crossing their networks, analyze the content it contains and then make an assessment as to whether the data belonged to an unauthorized download or not."
"“Republicans are not going to be elected because they carried Delaware, Connecticut, New York and California,” Huckabee said, referring to some of the states McCain has won."
Divisive southern redneck still fighting the civil war.
Ya I saw this yesterday and was really perplexed why he would even say something along these lines, regardless of whether or not it is true. I mean the guy is done, he put up a good fight, whatever, but he isn't winning. So what does he possibly hope to gain by saying this ya know. You almost want to say, "Thanks Captain Obvious", and in my last question I would like to ask you what color the sky is.

LMAO!!
anon, I understand if you like Dr. Paul. I also find more things to agree with him about than any other Republican in my lifetime, but seriously......
he’s the only Republican who stands a chance against Obama or Clinton.
Cmon....
This guy breaks out the champagne any time (rare though it is) he can get into double digits in a state wide, Repub only contest. A chance against Obama or Clinton?
No, I don't think so.
Liberal AND Proud @ 8:
Whatever it is it's no halo, trust me. Maybe a lie detector bulb.
Come on. I think it's obvious the people in this clip know this is a joke.
"12 Kahoneez Says: due to the exchange rate , my laugh here, is just a chuckle in Canada , sorry"
Um both dollars are basically on par, so........
"18 Ruthless People Says: Come on. I think it’s obvious the people in this clip know this is a joke."
You would thinks so, wouldn't you? I've watched quite a few of these with Rick Mercer, and sometimes I'm not so sure.
one of the funniest bits ever produced on canadian tv
and its scary when an 8 year old kid is smarter than all our pols
Hillary supporter, Ann Colture, was just on tv and each time she referred to Obama, she called him "B. Hussein Obama". Why is it that it seems so many republicans are really dense or just plain mean?
Since the first time I saw Huckelberry's picture beside a picture of Jim Nabors, every time I look at huck, I see Jim.
Oh! Fer fucksakes! OTTAWA... can you say OTTAWA?
I'm no fan of Huckabee's politics, but he has certainly shown himself to be a good one for a joke (colbert etc.). lets not go all gooey over this as though its a real gaffe. Why bother when he FREELY admits to being a creationist.?
He has to be the most likable theocrat out there.
Ruthless People I don't agree, too many people in this country do not have a clue about Canada's demographics, much less Iraq, Iran or any where else outside the USA. Did you not see Miss Teen South Carolina?

Pastor: IRS probes Huckabee endorsement
Baptist Pastor Says IRS Is Investigating Him for Endorsing Huckabee on Church Stationery
GILLIAN FLACCUS
AP News
Feb 13, 2008 15:09 EST
Southern Baptist pastor Wiley Drake said Wednesday that he is being investigated by the Internal Revenue Service for his endorsement of GOP presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee in a press release written on church stationery.
Under federal tax law, church officials may legally discuss politics, but they cannot endorse candidates or parties without putting their tax-exempt status at risk. Most who do so receive only a warning.
Drake, a prominent pastor in the Southern Baptist Convention, said he received a 14-page letter from the IRS on Feb. 7. IRS spokesman Rafael Tulino said Wednesday that he could not comment.
On Aug. 11, Drake wrote a press release on letterhead from the First Southern Baptist Church in Buena Park that announced his personal endorsement of Huckabee, who also is an ordained Baptist minister...."After very serious prayer and consideration, I announce today that I am going to personally endorse Mike Huckabee," the release said. "I ask all of my Southern Baptist brothers and sister to consider getting behind Mike and helping him all you can." He added: "I believe God has chosen Mike for such an hour, and I believe of all those running Mike Huckabee will listen to God." Two days later, Wiley repeated his endorsement on his church-based Internet show, "The Wiley Drake Show."
A complaint was filed with the IRS by Americans United for the Separation of Church and State.

Mr. XXXX @ 28:
Thanks!
I think you guys are missing the actual context here.
"“Republicans are not going to be elected because they carried Delaware, Connecticut, New York and California,” Huckabee said, referring to some of the states McCain has won."
Yes, those are states that Howard Dean would like to have. I think Huckabee's point is that Republicans never get those states. Democrats always get New York and California in the general election, so Republicans shouldn't count on those states to carry them.
So why is he bringing this up? Because guess which states John McCain won on Super Tuesday? California, New York, Connecticut, Delaware. Huckabee is actually implying that McCain can't win the general election because he can't take control of any states except the ones that the Republicans are going to lose anyway.
I really hate videos where innocent people say things that make them seem like idiots, for the
amusement of the well educated class. I don't mind it when it's done to politicians, however
What scares / revulses me is that even a fairly good website (C&L) and its good crowd (users like you and maybe me) are tolerating Huckabee.
I am European so I cannot vote and not a partisan but I am telling you: the very bad joke right now is that this guy is making first places or strong second places (40%+ at times).
This guy is reaaaal good. He speaks well, he has a good sense of humor, in short is likable. But he is a f..ing theocrat. He might be the most dangerous being on the planet right now. Mix God with Politics (I mean even more than right now) and you get a recipe for disaster on a global scale.
Maybe people think that since Mc Cain is so far ahead, Hick does'nt stand a chance and hence it is ok to like him, but this guy is a demon. He scares the sh..t out of me.
Think about past history: if for any reason Mc Cain could not make it till the end you end with good old huch, fanatic, in a depressed economy. Remember anything ? Yep Hitler in Nazi Germany. Great speakers, likealble, economic disaster and complete loons.
Just the idea that this guy could gather so much support, building room for the 'next' Huck in 2012 if not him now is making me sick so please do not publicize or accept / like this guy. His likes are very dangerous.
Final thoughts:
- I understand that this is a democracy and that all are enabled to have a voice etc. But let's be honest: even C&L does not cover all candidates in a similar fashion (not to mention the MSM) so gimme a break.
- I understand that this clip is not so much a pro-Huck ad rather than just funny per se, but I reacted here for all the threads/ posts on C&L that I found too friendly of Huckabee out of discontent with Mc Cain. MC Cain sucks but Hucks is scary.

As the author of this post, let me respond romain...
There is no A-list blog on the planet more supportive of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State than Crooks and Liars. Mike at the Blog Roundup links regularly to pro-separation of church and state articles, and I myself was the honored recipient of their first annual "Bloggie" award last fall for the work I have done in the blogosphere on their behalf.
I can't speak for the entire lefty blogosphere, oh, who am I kidding? Of course I can! But seriously, I don't think there's anyone writing here at C&L that doesn't think Huck is a dangerous theocrat.
That said, we like the idea of a divided and disenchanted GOP conservative movement. That's why we joke about go Huck so much. Thanks very much for your comments and reminders.
One of the funniest TV shows ever:

What?! No one knows that OTTAWA is the capital of Canada?!
Janet — I really hate videos where innocent people say things that make them seem like idiots, for the amusement of the well educated class.
Part of this series (it was called "Talking to Americans") consisted of a "college tour" where they asked the same stupid questions of people at Harvard and Columbia and the results... the same! Even, I might add, a number of professors who got snookered. Proving once again that even highly educated people can be completely clueless idiots.
Huckabee is a good guy. You all are hacks. If there's anyone to fear, it's the corporatists. Not the Christian Conservatives. They were used by the neocons, but they weren't the neocons.
Bluegal,
Point taken. I missed the humor in your initial post.
I also never doubted that C&L was for the Separation of Church and State.
I guess I am really pissed at the guy's scores and also to a certain extent that there is no post on 'oh sh..t he scored 40+%' on C&L or elsewhere. The guy is really becoming mainstream. That's scary.
I really hope that we can all laugh about it in Nov 08, 12,16 etc. Keep up the great work!
Best,
Romain
hilk hilk hilk payple are shore funny. And you wonder how Bush was elected.
i will defend the crazy preacher, he has a good sense of humour. i think he knew it was a fake reporter... (note that fake news has been in canadian TV longer than the daily show)
Ya gotta excuse Hucklebuck, he's got a lot on his mind right now.
Being a self-declared 'One of 'God's' Chosen', while being a goy, puts a lot of pressure on someone.
But if he plays his cards right, the whole country goes insane, and McCain is elected, John might appoint Mike Ambassador to Toronto, to further his education.
All Praise to Jaysus.
