I wonder if those neo-con/right wing commentators who denigrate Barack Obama's 3-18-08 speech usually praise President G W Bush's speeches?

Primero!

With Bush's reckless spending and barrowing on a whole host of things I am already making plans for any remaining worthless pieces of paper that I may be holding in my wallet when those dollars revert back to their original value which is zero. Thinking practically, I'll use it as toilet paper or maybe Kleenex. Hey, thats what the Yugoslavs and Germans did.

Watching Bush's speech today was a joke. No mention of a strategy, just blather how we have to stay so they don't swim across the Atlantic to get little ole us. Barak's speech was fantastic, but if you listen to Morning Joe, you would think the opposite. What a tool!

Ah dangit Eric...ya beat me...
and yes, they praise Chimpies skill as an "orator" lol! But when someone who can actually speak english, using words he actually understands...the reichwingers attack, because it's their nature to attack something they don't understand, ie fear.

Cheney on Good Morning America

Cheney, who spoke from Muscat, Oman, shortly after he visited Iraq to assess the success of the U.S. troop build-up there, also said public opposition to the Iraq war should not affect how it is conducted.

The interview was aired on the fifth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Informed that two-thirds of Americans now think the war was not worth fighting, Cheney said: "So?"

Remember the debates with John Kerry? Bush looked like he was having an epileptic fit. With the 'internets' and other faux pas, it makes wonder who thinks he is great orator, Jesus, the man can't string two sentences together.

Mike, your second link (to Halfway There) is actually to the Gitlin piece in TNR.

[Thanks, mookie! I forwarded your message to the proper authorities. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon. Site Monitor]

A few people think Bush was given tranquilizers after the first match with Kerry.

LA, Maybe the majority of the voters were on traquilizers when they voted for the buffon, yet again.

With stories like this, who needs the Weekly World News?

Thanks FOX - thanks for using space to provide the critical news and information we need to survive and thrive! You report - I decide!

Boy, this to should be added to the roundup for sure. Everyone knows of the U.S. dollar and its sharp fall against all major and even minor currencies around the globe. This comparison, though shows exactly what is happening:

In the 1980's as I recall, the Zimbabwean dollar was fairly equal to the U.S. dollar in purchasing power. Through the 1990's and into this decade its fallen into a hyper-inflationary spiral due to Mugabe and his Central Bank's monetary policies. At one point, just a year or two ago it was so bad there that the currency conversion rate was 1.2 million Zimbabwean dollars to 1 U.S. dollar.  Now, something even more dramatic has happened.  The currency conversion today shows 30,154 Zimbabwean dollars to 1 U.S. dollar.  I can only surmise that either Mugabe has drastically improved his policies and his currency is getting stronger now at an even faster rate or the U.S. dollar is falling faster than anyone first thought.

These lyrics from George Harrison's final album pretty much sum it up.

They brainwashed my great uncle
Brainwashed my cousin Bob
They even got my grandma when she was
working for the mob
Brainwash you while you're sleeping
While you're in a traffic jam
Brainwash you while you're weeping
While still a baby in your pram
Brainwashed by the Military
Brainwashed under duress
Brainwashed by the media
You're brainwashed by the press
Brainwashed by computer
Brainwashed by mobile phones
Brainwashed by the satellite
Brainwashed to the bone

"Adeli" Stevenson?

Why does Bush even bother going up on the podium? All he has to do is play a tape recorder.

scanning the comment sections on msm websites (ie, abcnews) it is evident that the reichwing talking points about barack and his pastor have been swallowed by the sheeple like condoms full of cocaine.

when pathetic pimples, like joe scarborough, are able to sit for hour after hour spewing nonsensical and borderline threatening screeds about this non-issue, and yet gloss over the REAL and catastrophic issues facing America, i wonder just how far we have come since the days when the rightwing could cow the american sheeple into submission.

not that far. same piss-poor media. same reichwing sycophants. Same failure of a certain percentage of Americans to comprehend and critical engage the duplicity, the distraction and the truth.

I've never read Rude Pundit before now

And I probably never will again, what a waste of time.

They are now working on convincing the sheep McCain is already President.

Samson, you hit the nail on the head! Most Repugs have to be told what to do and think, hence Rush's dittoheads. Common sense isn't a priority. They swallow what their masters feed them, then cast their rightous eyes on free thinkers and progressives. Throw religion in the mix and you have a populice of unitelligent bullies. I should know, several members of my family actually believe in Limbaugh.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. fuel dealer groups urged President George W. Bush in a letter to order immediately the release of emergency heating oil supplies to help cool sky-high prices hitting consumers and dealers hard.

Hey Bushie!!!!! Guess what baby. The Jig is up for you PAL!

Hey Bush!!!!! When you going to tell your Butt Buddies in Saudi Arabia to turn up the spigot?

And when you going to tell your Butt Buddies in Big Oil to lower energy prices so Americans can breath?

What are they saying? Latest reports have been saying that it's the devalueing of the dollar that is causing the prices going up. They have said that supplies are abundant.

L.A. I think it is just another diversion to keep the sheeple distracted.

I don't know who made up the phrase "throw ____ under the bus", but I wish they hadn't done it. I am so very tired of hearing it. It must have been used a zillion times since Sen. Obama made his speech yesterday. I'm hearing he didn't throw his minister under the bus but he did throw his grandmother under the bus, over and over and over.

Okay, I just needed to get that short rant out. Now I feel a little better.

Obama wasn't even smart enough to listen to his own reverend when Rev. Wright said Obama would have to distance himself from him:

This is from an interview with PBS and Obama's reverend (Rev. Jeremiah Wright). Why should a presidential candidate have to distance himself from 'a man of God' so that the candidate's Jewish support doens't wane.? Imagine a republican having to do this.

...In fact, I just shared with, I was trying to remember who it is, somebody in public life was asking me about Barack, and I said listen, Barack might be forced by the media and/or by supporters to be very absent from this church and to put distance between our church and himself. As a politician, he might be forced into that. I have not talked to him about that at all. It's just that my read just of the blogs and what the right-Christian-wing leaders have said about him being a part of our church over past three months says this is -- you think it's ugly now, it's going to get worse, it's going to get much worse. For survival's sake, as a politician he just might have to not -- not that I love you less, I love me more. I'll never get elected as long as they keep harping on this. And that's -- again, I haven't talked to him about that at all.

Q: How do you feel about that?

A: I would understand. I really would. I would understand. For instance … he can't afford the Jewish support to wane or start questioning his allegiance to the state of Israel because I'm saying the position we've taken in terms of Palestinians is wrong, and I think we need to revisit that. Just that kind of statement would cause negative repercussions in some quarters in terms of some supporters, in terms of some people he needs to support his election campaign.

Q: So you're willing to distance?

A: Yeah. I don't want to hurt him. ...

I think you mean that Obama wasn't enough of a weenie to distance himself from the Rev. for the sake of political expedience.

I think we'll see his numbers bump up over the next few days.

Wow. A lot to read through today... Thanks.

Rezko Gavel to Gavel

Rezko attorneys have (undoubtedly) alerted BO to the contents of the discovery in the trial. Among these documents are the details of contributions funneled to BO and sourced from Rezko bully tactics. Which explains why BO caught a case of disclosure flu at the convenience of the Rev Wright circus. Forget crazy uncles. Payola is the million pound shithammer the GOP is lifting.

Clinton's guarantors

Ed Rendell and Jon Corzine, two governors who back Hillary, write (.pdf) Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm with "a list of individuals who, combined, are prepared to serve as guarantors to ensure that a total of up to $12 million will be deposited in the State of Michigan Presidential Primary Administration Fund by April 17, 2008."

The list includes Corzine's own name, and those of seven top Clinton donors and fundraisers: Roger Altman, Haim Saban, John Catsimatidis, Bernard Schwartz, Fred Eychaner, Brooke Neidich and Calvin Fayard. The other two names are less closely tied to Clinton: trial lawyers John Eddie Williams and Peter Angelos.

Money, though, isn't the obstacle at the moment: Michigan officials continue to signal that without Obama's support, the proposal is dead.

And these silly bastards really think that we would be stupid enough to allow them a new election to just hand it over to Hillary as we can see and feel the desperation and sweat popping out of the veins of these bounty hunters.

No I think not. The best they should get is to split the votes between the two and call it a day, cause if anyone notice that none of these crusaders for the cause, are giving any kind of concern for the disenfranchisement of the none Hillary supporters, who did not vote at all.

Like they are saying and I believe that it's not about the money at all, but to bring Senator Obama down. They never dreamed he would be in the position he now has finds himself in as he completely terrorizes the Clinton campaign and exposes her and Bill for the cheap corrupt sleaze, they both have allowed themselves to become and just like the internet has become for those of us who have exposed this corrupt administration by internet and left wing radio talk shows, this gang never counted on.

We are fortunate enough to have someone like Senator Obama to run for the office of President, so as not to be tricked into making their dream come true, by giving them Hillary at her worst.

It's all about the vote for Hillary and screw everybody else. It is the way in which Hillary operates, all about herself and dame everyone else, however the voters of those states should remember the other elected officials, just as kindly, when they come up for election. I know dame well I would
