Senator Lindsay Graham seems to have joined the “cakewalk in Iraq” zealots team.
Go check out what Senator Lindsey Graham had to say about Iran this past Sunday on Face the Nation
” We need to let the Iranians know that you are not going to be the “cancer of the middle east without consequences”. You are not going to destroy Israel by supporting Hamas. You are not going to destroy Lebanon by supporting Hezbollah. You are not going to destroy our will in Iraq. And you do this at your own peril”
( let's not forget Israel's pre-emptive and very destructive invasion of Lebanan)
These are fighting words. Senator Graham, Senator Lieberman and Senator Mc Cain are kicking up the inflammatory rhetoric in regard to Iran. This adds to the inflammatory rhetoric based on unsubstantiated claims that Bill Kristol, Cheney, John Bolton, and many others have been repeating during the last four years.

Land Grab: Israel's Settlement Policy in the West Bank

McDuff @ 3:
Thanks for bringing this up. Olmert gave the big o.k. and the MSM barely whispered. I am convinced Israel does not want peace. Folks should call their reps and let them know that they do not want our Reps to continue to support Israel's occupation of Palestinian lands and the continued expansion of settlements in Palestinian occupied territory. Call your reps let them know what you think.
I am beginning to believe in the ONE STATE SOLUTION,
I can agree with what was said in the Economist view's article. I to would like to hear something from each of the candidates regarding this current financial crisis. However I really don't expect much more than simple babbling rhetoric from McCain.
Everyone recalls Clinton's 3 A.M. Presidential telephone call ad and automatically assumes that it refers to a terrorist threat of some sort. The reality is, that 3 A.M. call to the President can take many forms from a financial crisis to a massive disease outbreak or what have you. The phone is ringing. Which one of the candidates are going to pick it up first and respond to this financial situation?
Great roundup Mike! I've seen many articles on Debbie Wasserman-Schultz online, and her rather odd behaviour and voting record for a Dem. I feel for Americans. Both political parties seem to have a severe case of "fleas" leeching on the system, regardless of party affiliation.
Chris "Tweety" Matthews rips into the Clinton family this morning... hard. Damn

Kathleen @ 4:
You're more optimistic than me. I believe Israel's ultimate goal is to reduce the Palestinians' land to the equivalent of reservations, isolated from one another, divided and with no real sovereign powers, except municipal powers perhaps.
The Palestinian parts of the West Bank will then be run by mayors and the president et al will all be symbolic. Israel will keep eastern Jerusalem and continue to push Arabs from the old city and demolish their homes or intimidate them out of them until all Jerusalem (east and west) is all Jewish, united, as per the Old Testament.
Paul D @ 7:
Where is parts 3-4-5-6. I would like to see what Richardson has to say about Matthews comments.
Paul D @ 7:
Thanks, I missed that part. All I saw, was tweety and the rest of the talking heads, spend 45 minutes talking about Obamas minister.
diamondmc @ 10:
And good ol' CNN spent plenty of time featuring Rev. Wright last night.
But hey, look over there...the Dow is up over 200 pts today!!!!!!
Paul D @ 7:
It's actually refreshing to see the MSM trying to raise the national dialog a bit, from gutter politics and slogans to real issues.
Paul D @ 7:
I too thank you for those links. I had to leave this morning just as that was beginning. Gotta tell ya, this is one of those rare times that I agree with Chris. This is not about just the future for the Clintons, it's about the future of all of us and our country. James sounded like a crazy man with that comment about Judas. I hope James never needs help from Richardson because I don't think it will be there after that comment.
Thanks once again for the great links, Mike. The blog roundup is the best thing at C&L.
What the hell is Clemons talking about at The Note? Why, Mike Fonnegan is this worthy of a link?
From what I understand from Clemon's first link, Shultz has been denied an increase in coverage from AIG due to her plans to go to Israel--which is a dangerous place. Can Shultz get separate, sufficient coverage from someone else? Is she asking for more coverage without an increase in her premium?
"That inquiry [by AIG] alone violates a state statute passed in 2006 that prevents insurers from asking potential customers what their future travel plans might include."
But Shultz's application was made in 2005. Was the statute grandfathered?
Oh, I see, the "freedom to travel is a human right argument" is the hypocritical issue, given that Schultz supports the Cuba embargo.
Schultz isn't being prevented from travelling to Israel by a government, nor by AIG. She just wants more insuirance .
Sure her "argument" about human rights is stupid, but so is Clemon's complaints about her hypocrisy.
NONE of this makes any goddam sense!
If the intent is to bust Wasserman Schultz for something, do it coherently!
Clemons: "I recommend to Congressman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to go pay a call on Republican House Member Jeff Flake (R-AZ-06) who will remind her that it is communist governments that restrict the travel of their freedom-challenged citizens. The U.S. government should not be party to such practices, he will tell her -- as will more than a hundred of her Democratic colleagues, with whom she is politicaly out of line."
Ummm... the 'democratic' US Government bans travel to Cuba, just as the communist Cuban govt bans travel to the US. BOTH guilty, not just communist governments. OH yeah and how many British have been rejected entry to the US lately?
"She is complicit in one of the most significant cabals preempting the travel of Americans today and she has no moral authority or legitimacy complaining in her own case that her travel latitude has been restricted when she is directly responsible for inhibiting the freedoms of so many other American citizens."
Wasserman ISN'T complaining about government-enforced restrictions but the restrictions she feels ( quite wrongly) that AIG is placing on her. If this is indeed the reason behind the state apparatus trying to punish AIG then that is probaly an abuse of power on Schultz's part (which is a point Clemons makes).
As to "forcing Cuban-American families to choose whether they attend a mother's funeral, or a father's -- because the legal constraints on travel that Wasserman Schultz helped to construct and supports won't allow these families to go to both." Clemons should consider that it is the "exiled" Cuban community in the US that SUPPORTS the isolation of Cuba---except of course when they have a specific personal interest that is at odds with the isolation policy which they otherwise so steadfastly maintain.
Come on Mike Shultz is tool and so is Clemons. His post is a perfect storm of sutpidity. I'm guessing you only briefly scannned Clemons post before linking to it.
Government taking over is not reform, it will just kill that business in the long run.......
I'd like to add that such blog roundups are time-sensitive, as a service to readers. My complaint is only about the one link, not MIke or the practice in general. There's a lot to consider within the Clemons/Note post, but Clemons "take" in this instance is horribly inept. Just so you know.
Ron @ 9:
It wasn't much of a response - he pretty much focuses on his Obama endorsement and why he endorsed him. He sidesteps Matthews in other words.
I'm glad that Wasserman-Schultz is trying to get AIG thrown out of Florida though, just wait until you get hurt at work in California, then you get to find out all about them bastards. They should be rode out of the country.
We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?
Hahahaaha. Buchanan's a funny guy.
this isn't in the 'roundup' and i apologize, but i just read this and my 'eff you' meter went into the red-zone...
"Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton called on President Bush on Monday to appoint "an emergency working group on foreclosures" to recommend new ways to confront the nation's housing finance troubles.
The New York senator said the panel should be led by financial experts such as Robert Rubin, who was treasury secretary in her husband's administration, and former Federal Reserve chairmen Alan Greenspan and Paul Volcker."
http://www.rawstory.com/news/mochila/Clinton_calls_for_panel_on_housing_...
rubin?
greenspan?
if this is hillary's idea of a joke it is NOT funny. if she is serious, (and obviously she is) fuck this idiotic and insulting idea.
hillary's next suggestion: colin powell and donny rummy will investigate just how we got into iraq...
sorry, last thing: james carville is hurting america (again)
Britisher @ 17:
The fact that Wasserman-Schultz is a a high ranking official on the Democratic Congressional election committee and won't campaign against her Republican cohorts makes the item worth linking. Additionally, the number of Cuban-Americans who support our burdensome and otherwise totally ineffective Cuba policy is infinitesimal. Only some (not all) of the generation that fled in 1959 support it. The majority of the Cuban community, and Americans in general, recognize it as evidence that plenty of morons roamed the halls of power before BUSHCO.
.
hey, mike... thanks for the mention... i left my little house a couple of hours ago to head to the airport here in buenos aires where i'm preparing to catch a flight that will have me in kabul, afghanistan, on wednesday morning... i was cruising along on the hospitality lounge wifi, checked in on my blog, and found that the traffic had gone through the roof... when i tracked it down, i saw it was thanks to your "blog round-up" mention... muchissimas gracias, mi amigo...
i'm doing a short-term consulting contract in kabul, and you might note that i intend to be putting up some posts on afghanistan on my observations from a first-hand perspective along with some photos - if the security restrictions allow...
thanks again...
Susanunpc over at No Quarter USA is losing it. When I posted a comment "sounds like Daily Kos to me" in reference to an outrageous comment about Obama on No Quarter USA's website. Susan began to moderate my comments after I posted the comment "sound like Daily Kos to me" and then made false claims that I have posted under other names and used other computers (I use a universities computers so yes I am on different computers at times).
Very disturbing that a site that is focused on hammering and ripping apart Obama with outrageous language attacks and then moderates a simple comment that compares the language and claims at Susan's site NO QUARTER USA to the DAILY KOs's comments about Hillary. Susan cannot "take the heat" that she claims Obama is unable to take.

Fuck Obama. He’s a sinking ship. I want to hear the grand orator make a speech on how we can get Rev. Racist Wright thrown the fuck out of this country for all but being gleeful about suicide bombers (yes–I heard the entire segment of the sermon the MSM won’t play, but Howard Stern did this morning on satellite radio and it’s God-awful) and how he possibly thinks we’d elect him to be our Commander in Chief at this time when we see the theory he’s been immersed in for 20 years.
Fuck you, Obama and Axelrod. Fuck you too, Plouffe. You’re ALL fucking crazy now if you think your guy’s gonna be our president. No way in fucking Hell.

EVERYONE, watch out for Kathleen please. And let me know — susanunpc at gmail dot com — if she shows up.
She is switching IP numbers and e-mail addresses to get around my placement of her on moderation.
She posted the name of that OTHER blog just to foul up what Fleaflicker posted below. I zapped it, but I need you to keep your eyes open for her attempts. Thank you.
Doubtless, she will use other handles besides Kathleen. Be on the watch for that too. Thanks.
THESE CLAIMS ARE COMPLETELY UN TRUE.
