Go Home

Is it really almost here?

The PA primary is finally here, right? I'm not dreaming. I won't wake up tomorrow and find out that it's still Monday?---That my life is caught in a Groundhog day type loop where the PA primary is always just a day away and I have to go over the latest tracking poll numbers every twenty minutes while David Brooks keeps repeating his "war games" test for the presidency over and over and over again...

Honestly, let's just finish the PA primary, then suspend all campaigning until September 10th. Would it really make any difference if we all took a few months off?

Just as long as one day we may wake up from this eight year nightmare.

This weekend I saw a news clip of Obama going door to door in Pennsylvania. He just walked up to a house knocked on the door and introduced himself to whomever came to the door. Wow, if someone rang my doorbell and I looked out to see Senator Obama standing there, I would be so fu*king excited to get to talk to him.

If someone rang my doorbell and I looked out to see Senator Clinton standing there I would probably yell to her that I was under sniper fire and couldn't get to the door.

You're overestimating the relief you'll feel after tomorrow. We will just move onto the next primary.

I admit I still like it though, and I really respect Obama for encouraging Hillary to stay in the race. I hope Obama wins, but I respect the idea that everyone should have a vote.

The funniest thing, though, is that superdelegates can overturn the vote of the people. LOL! What a fucking farce.

If you're registered in either of these parties, LOL at you.

Because of the uncheckable, unauditable,no recount possible touch screen voting machines being used in Pennsylvania,we will never know who actually won the primary.

Some high level authority figure will step out from behind a curtain and announce who the winner is. Does that sound like the kind of democracy that you want to live in? If it doesn't, then you are the ones who will have to demand verifiable, transparent, and accurate elections and you need to start doing it now. Something to think about when you are pushing the buttons on your touch screen or putting your ballot into a computer programmed counting machine like an optical scan in November.

You can also think about it while you contemplate what life will be like for the next four years when McCain is declared as the president.

Obama is looking at polls and speaking honestly about the most likely outcome. What's so messed up about that? This overly long period between Ohio and Pennsylvania primaries really bothers me. Just exactly who's idea was that, anyways? And why are there 10 primaries left to be decided?

Don't misunderstand. I think all voters should have a choice of candidates when their state has their primary. Ordinarily the contest is decided this late into the season. Wasn't that the reason Mich and Florida held theirs so early was to have a choice and to set the tone of the campaign for the nation? If having a long, drawn out campaign ulitmately hurts the party, I say hold a half-dozen or so super Tuesdays, spread apart by a few weeks. Each featuring states spread across the country. All the candidates are in until the end, every voter gets a choice, it's all over in a few months, then, in the end, a winner is declared and it's off to the convention. Is there something wrong with that?

How about ONE super Tuesday if you want to make it fair to all voters, or just let the party choose their own candidate like most nations with parliamentary systems. Just think how much time, money and effort would be saved, and how much less influence the corporate big spenders would have in the process

Hahaha, funny. Clearly you aren't familiar with my posts (not that you ought to be, but I'm an Obama backer).

No, actually I'm NOT serious, I'm just tired of this campaign.

Seriously, if we all took a few months - okay, just three - off of this campaign, I bet we'd all be fine. Push all the remaining primaries back, stop raising money, stop airing ads, stop talking about politics, and just take a freaking break. This campaign is ridiculous!

I hope to be wrong, but I have this sick, queasy feeling that Clinton will stay in the race as long as she can past Pennsylvania. Even if she doesn't win by +20 points or more, which she needs to in order to stay in. Even though her campaign is in the red about $10 million.

Amen. Why is it that now Democrats want to hang Bill Clinton's mistake (one that we should never have even known about) around Hillary's neck? This is the rhetoric that will destroy our chances in Nov. to take back the WH. She is not Bill Clinton and she had to handle that shame in public along with their daughter and to relish in that now is rude and no better than the repukes.

I agree with a previous comment, I am just so Over Hillary. Everyday this goes on, she annoys me all the more. She has trashed the progressives and even uses Karl Rove talking points to do it. Let's Move On without her.

It won't matter.

Hillary can lose PA by 20% and she'll just declare PA to be an "unimportant state."

Hillary can lose the nomination and she'll argue that just because a candidate is nominated at the convention, technically that doesn't mean the party has to put him on the ticket.

The party can put Obama on the ticket and Hillary will still run as an "independent Democrat" to give the voters "real choice."

If she splits the Democratic support base and gives the win to McCain by default, she'll point out that technically there's no law requiring electors to vote for their pledged candidates.

There is no road to the White House she will abandon. Tuesday will settle nothing.

2 more sleeps for Hillary....then a wednesday morning concession speech

buh bye.

We all wish. But alas, ain't gonna happen. People still support her, even though she has proven to be a lying Repukelican in DLC clothing. I am starting to think that if Bush was legally allowed to run for a third term, the piece of crap would win. Somebody tell me I'm wrong. Anyone? Didn't think so.

My apologies, albatross. It's getting unbearable, but no hiatus. Let's get this thing over with.

This is too true.

I hate to sound trivial, and I know it is trivial with all the considerations before the US now - but who could stand to watch Hillary for the next 4 years? IRK!! and worse, far, far worse - McCain? BLLLURK! How much better to listen to and look at Obama - he's just so much more statesmanlike - he's definitely got the charisma and the steady heart and mind to be Pres.

Fingers crossed, or else for four more years (or more) 'll have to continue turning off the tele when the POTUS comes on.

Clinton's Rove inspired gutter politics and teaming up with the ultra right conservatives to attack and smear Obama , I wonder if people are smart enough to see through her and recognize her sleaze tactics for what they are or again blind and dumb as a box of rocks , as in elected Bush twice . Well , sort of elected Bush . Hey I think I got banned from blogging or commenting on the ABC sites , apparently Charles Gibson and company didn't like what I had to say , I also called the Limbaugh ditto heads out who were posting lies and absurdities against Obama , posing as Clinton Dems of course . You guys will have to take over for me . LOL

BREAKING: Obama Takes Lead in PA

KodiakPistola's picture

I have been youtubing people's personal endorsments for the Democratic nominee all night.

I will be voting for Clinton or Obama, depending on who the nominee is. I strongly hope Obama is the nominee. That being said I have to comment on the mood of Obama endorsements v Clinton. Every Clinton endorsement I've seen is very angry and dismissive of Obama and his supporters. The Obama endorsements are (typically) calm, serious, and optimistic. I could only find one that mentioned Hillary or the bickering that has been going on between camps. This is in no way a reflection of Clinton herself, but more an observation of her supporters. In almost all of the Clinton endorsements I could find, the youtuber felt the need to make special mention that there was no way in hell they would vote for Obama - in most cases saying they would not vote in November, and in some cases saying McCain.

I find this disturbing. It seems like a very smart strategy to consolidate undecided, left-leaning, voters. It seems as if Hillary supporters are attempting to strongarm the Democratic party into a nomination for her by saying 'We won't vote democrat unless it's Clinton' Is this reaching, or could there actually be a strategy set out to attempt to intimidate her in to the nomination?

Has this idea posted on this site? I haven't seen it online (or in print/cable news) yet.

I would appeal to all Clinton supporters to reject the BS that has choked our country for the last 7 years. If you honestly think McCain would serve your interest better than Obama, by all means don't vote. If you just like Clinton better than Obama, than I would hope you'd look at the EXTREME similarities in their policies.

What do you think?
